Tikal glanced around her surroundings, ever present trees creating a shady canopy above, as the worn dirt path twisted and turned throughout the forest. She had just left home, ready to do something with her life, and she was looking forwards to it more than ever before. The only question was: where was she to begin?
The quick pitter-patter of fast feet caused Tikal to look over her shoulder as her Totodile rushed after her. "You know when we reach the first town you may have to go into your pokeball." she told him with a smirk. Her Totodile only responded with a hyper combination of jumps and cries. It was one of his quirks, always energetic, which before hadn't necessarily been a good thing, as it normally meant he would refuse to go into his pokeball. However, some company would be nice, as she knew it'd be awhile before the first town.
Maybe she could even get her first battle done, as she was curious to learn about the battle system. Without thinking about it, Tikal's Totodile immediately rushed further into the forest in excitement, or possibly hunger, Tikal could never distinguish between the two as she raced after him.

Meanwhile, in the town at the end of the path, Steph, a new trainer, is departing to the forest, accompanied by Millenia, her recently accuired Chikorita. On her way out of town, she releases Millenia from her Pokeball. The breeze ruffles the grass on the outskirts of town as the two reach the treeline. Suddenly Millenia runs into the trees, closely followed by her worried trainer.

Kagami looked at her surroundings. "Where am I?" she thought. "Am I lost?" She took a look at her map of Furroh. She had no idea where she was. The map feature on her Poketch was broken.

"This is it," she thought glumly. "I'm completely lost."

She released Chimchar.

"Chim?" Chimchar looked at Kagami, waiting for a command.

"Oh it's nothing," Kagami said. "I'm just lonely." Chimchar looked disappointed. He had been looking forward to a battle for a while.

"Oh, I'm sure we'll find some bug or grass type for you to pulverize." That was when Kagami realized that she had been in the forest for atleast 2 hours, and she hadn't seen a single Pokemon.

"That's weird..." she mumbled.

Then, she heard a rustle on leaves. She gave a tiny yelp, but was mostly paralyzed by fear. The figure looked human but she couldn't tell the figure advanced.

"Um, excuse me?" a voice said. "Do you know the way out?'

Vivian turned a full circle, staring at her surroundings and consulting her map. It figured- the first time she'd persuaded her parents to stop hovering over her and let her be independent, she managed to get herself royally lost. She didn't understand why they'd insisted on having her learn art, dance, and all that, instead of something more practical, like reading maps and learning how to survive on her own in an enormous forest. And of course, she had the luck to be in the middle of nowhere with absolutely nobody in sight.

Her eyes narrowed thoughtfully behind the sunglasses, and she reched for her belt. With a quiet click, a red beam of light shot out, materializing into her Torchic. A second light appeared, resolving into Chikorita. As long as she didn't walk in circles, she could get out of here eventually... so she needed to leave marks of where she'd been. And they were just perfect for the job. And just so Mudkip wouldn't feel left out, she let him out too. She smiled as she knelt down and petted each of them for a minute, feeling content as they snuggled up to her, before turning to the matter at hand.

"Hey, could you guys scratch the trees as we pass them or leave other marks so we'll realize if we're going in circles?" she asked as she straightened up. They each gave varying sounds of assent, so she took the lead, walking in a random direction, listening to them doing things to follow her instructions. She snapped off small twigs at head height as she walked, leaving them hanging off the ends, as her own marks. She felt a little bad about doing this to the forest, but she didn't want to get lost in here forever. It was just until she ran into someone, or got out of here.

She just continued on her way, walking as straight as she could by following the sun. After a while, her Pokemon stopped taking it very seriously and started playing with each other, gamboling around her ankles. She just had to laugh- they were so much fun. And the crushed undergrowth from their escapades worked just as well as markers, or so she hoped. She had half-forgotten the seriousness of her predicament as well when a tiny yelp interrupted them. Her head shot up- could it be a Pokemon?

Cautiously, she moved forward, shushing her Pokemon and indicating for them to follow her. Mudkip tried to continue messing around, but when Torchic and Chikorita didn't reciprocate, he seemed to give up and follow them obediently. But as she got closer, she realized the shape had a humanoid figure, with a smaller shadow next to it- a trainer and a Pokemon? Vivian stepped out of the shadows and smiled politely.

"Um, excuse me? Do you know the way out of here? I'm afraid I'm hopelessly lost, and this map just as well might be a scrap of paper to me- I have no idea how to read it."

Posted by: Weavile99 Aug 12 2009, 08:00 PM

"Huh?" Kagami sighed. Just another lost trainer.

"I'm sorry," Kagami said. "I'm afraid that I'm just as lost as you." Chimchar investigated this new human. She looked OK, he thought.

"My name's Kagami, What's yours?"

"I'm sorry, I'm afraid that I'm just as lost as you. My name's Kagami, What's yours?"

Vivian sighed slightly in disappointment- she'd finally found someone else, but it looked like they were both lost. Still, at least she'd met someone else- human companionship would be quite welcome during their attempt to get out of here. She loved her Pokemon dearly, but none of them could speak in any human tongue whatsoever, so she was never quite sure if she was understanding them properly and if they could even understand her, since they'd only recently become acquainted. She smiled at the other trainer- Kagami.

"It's very nice to meet you, Kagami" she replied, curtsying slightly. "My name is Vivian Alexandra Nathaniels, or just Vivian."

She grimaced as she introduced herself- it was quite a mouthful, and she realized a moment after she finished that she could have just given her first name, like Kagami. Well, old habits were hard to break- she'd always introduced herself with her full name. The introductions finished, she looked the other girl up and down. Kagami looked younger than her, but she was taller by several inches. Her short blue hair looked almost artificial and Vivian was considering asking her whether it was dyed, but decided that would probably be too rude.

She stood there a little awkwardly, trying to think of something to say, brushing back her hair with her fingers and twiddling with the frame of her sunglasses. "So, do you have any ideas- Mudkip! No!"

Mudkip had dashed forward curiously and examined Kagami's fire monkey. Vivian hadn't paid much attention to him, and Mudkip had apparently taken that as permission to "play" with the other Pokemon, tackling it and bubbling happily. At her cry, it looked up and skittered back behind her, looking up at her inquisitively. Vivian looked over at Kagami apologetically.

"I'm so sorry- I'm new at this and this one in particular has problems listening to me. I really didn't mean for that to happen- I swear!" She turned back to her Mudkip. "And if you do something like that again, I'll put you back in your Ball."

Posted by: Weavile99 Aug 13 2009, 06:56 AM

Kagami giggled. What a cute little Mudkip! "It's very nice to meet you, Vivian. I've just been dying for someone to talk to!" Kagami paused, trying to come up wiht something to make conversation. There really wasn't much in the forest to talk about.

Tyrogue pulled on her skirt. "Hmm?" Tyrogue seemed to know what to talk about. "Oh! Have you seen any Pokemon in the forest? It's strange, in a forest you would expect to see some Oddish, Wurmple, Tailow, or atleast something!"

Being reminded of the lack of battles made Chimchar grumpy. He sat down and crossed his arms. "Chim." He said.

"As you can see, Chimchar just been dying for some lonely Zigzagoon to come by for him to practice on. I know, he's king of cruel..."

"Chim! Chimchar!" Chimchar seemed angry at being called cruel. He shook his head quickly.

"Ty..." Tyrogue glanced at Chimchar, a rather superior look in his eyes.

"So," Kagami said, looking back at Vivian. "Would you like to walk with me? I would love to talk with you!"

OOC: Love your avvie!

Vivian frowned as she thought about it- Kagami was right, she hadn't seen any other little creatures running around. But she shrugged. "No, I don't think I saw any Pokemon either, but they might have been scared off by all the noise mine were making. You see, we were leaving a trail behind us so we could hopefully walk straight and not in circles, and eventually get out of here. So they were kicking up quite a fuss and playing with each other too- I wouldn't be surprised if that was why nothing appeared."

She giggled, flipping the fan that hung from her wrist open and hiding her mouth, only her laughing eyes visible, as the conversation turned to the... Chimchar... which was looking quite disappointed, as Kagami said. She thought over the other girl's words and an idea came to her, and she snapped her fan shut again. "I'd love to have your company while we try to get out of here, but... perhaps we could do something to pass the time for a few minutes? I've only just started, so I'm unfamiliar with Pokemon battles and Pokemon in general, and since your Chimchar wants to fight something, perhaps we could have a short sparring match? Of course, not to the extent that any of them would get really hurt, and you can help teach me how to fight properly and maybe a bit more about Pokemon... if you don't mind, I mean. And it might make your Chimchar happy until it finds something else to pick on."

She smiled down at the little monkey. A battle might make Mudkip use up some energy too so it wouldn't keep acting up all the time. Its impish nature was quite a handful for Vivian, who'd never really taken care of anything living besides plants up 'til now. So she really had no idea how to control it and make it behave. She looked up at Kagami, waiting for a response.

Posted by: Weavile99 Aug 14 2009, 06:19 AM

OOC: Thanks!

Chimchar looked up at Kagami, it's eyes bright. "I didn't know you could understand human speech that well..." Kagami mumbled. Chimchar seemed to smirk. She looked at the Mudkip. 'Ya know, Chimchar," She started to say. "A water-type like Mudkip may not be the very best thing for you. Are you sure you can handle it?"

"Chimchaar!" He exclaimed. He started jumping around and babbling about something to Tyrogue.

"I think he'd love to! I've got potions just in case. I've been meaning to but more, but there aren't really any stores in the forest..."

"Chim!'

"Oh, right. Are you ready?" The Mudkip looked ready enough. "I'll go first, since I'm fire and you're water. Chimchar, use Scratch!" The Mudkip dodged easily.
"Chim!" Chimchar was now frusterated and mad. He was preparing for a fiery hot Ember, when Kagami said: "Cool it, it's the Mudkip's turn. Try to dodge and you could survive a watergun. Remember, Chimchar, your defense isn't the best, so keep your wits about you." Chimchar nodded and turned back to the Mudkip.

ooc: bleh, sorry about not posting. I got dragged away on a roadtrip for about a week. anyways...

After finally getting a hold of her Totodile, Tikal, turned her head as she heard people talking. She kept her arms around the squirming Pokemon as she came across Kagami and Vivian, and what looked to be a battle about to begin. This would've been the first fight she had seen, but was worried she would either get dragged in or would keep them from battling. Totodile on the otherhand was completely the opposite, wanting nothing more than to join in, something which in the meantime she was trying to prevent until they were done.

Posted by: Weavile99 Aug 15 2009, 06:54 AM

Kagami heard something in the forest. She turned around, but saw nothing. She thought she heard something like a distant "Toto!". Chimchar apparently heard it too. He ran off into the forest. She saw a girl and a Totodile being attacked.
"Chimchar! Come back here right now! Chimchar turned his head, but then continued to wrestle with the Totodile. Kagami got really annoyed. Chimchar, RETURN!" She held up the Pokeball and Chimchar flew into it. "I'm sooo sorry!" Kagami exclaimed. "Totodile's not hurt, right?" She looked at the newly found trainer, and then said: "My name is Kagami, and this is Vivian! Would you mind telling us your name?"

Posted by: rt117 Aug 15 2009, 09:22 AM

Tikal nodded, a bit off guard when the Chimchar had appeared from almost out of nowhere and tried to maul her Totodile. "Nah, he's alright, just a little too excited." she replied, readjusting her grip as the Pokemon was now over the top with the presence of new people. Tikal was seemingly sh, as it took her longer than expected to answer the second question. "And...and my name's Tikal." she finally answered with a small smile

Posted by: Weavile99 Aug 15 2009, 10:28 AM

"Nice to meet you!" Kagami smiled brightly. "Er, you wouldn't happen to know a way out of here would you? Vivian and eye are rather lost."

Tyrogue nodded solemly. He was tired of trees.

Posted by: rt117 Aug 15 2009, 11:08 AM

"I'm a bit familiar with the forest, but I've never left it myself. There's a bit of a worn trail that should take us out of here though." Tikal replied with a smile, as she set Totodile down, who had finally decided to calm down...
...At least the flapping of wings caught his attention, the Pidgey he had spotted earlier now roosting on a nearby tree. Immediately distracted, the Pokemon ran at the tree, and tried to claw his way up to get to the oblivious Pokemon.

Posted by: Weavile99 Aug 15 2009, 02:16 PM

Kagami stared at the Pidgey in disbelief. It was the first wild Pokemon she had seen in the whole forest! Of course, a flying type like Pidgey doesn't actually disprove her theory about the woods. A flying type like that could just fly in from anywhere in Furroh. "Hey," she said to Tikal. "Are there any Pokemon in the forest? I've been noticing that I haven't seen any. Is it possible that either the forest can't support life, or maybe, something is happening to the forest Pokemon?" Chimchar popped out of the ball and began to join Totodile. The pidgey flew away, and both came back disappointed. Tyrogue continued to look bored out of his wits. He liked city life.

Posted by: rt117 Aug 15 2009, 02:39 PM

Tikal nodded as she watched the Pidgey fly off. "Try a body of water. It's a source of life, so they would attract wildlife. Or berry bushes, they do the trick as well." She replied with a smile, before moving towards a bush. Looking over her shoulder as she crouched down, she waved them over with a finger to her lips, as on the other side were a few smaller Pokemon, mainly Rattata, Pidgey and Catterpie. There was even a pair of Pichus scurrying about, appearing to be either very good friends, or even siblings from the looks of their relationship.

Posted by: Lady Vivian Aug 16 2009, 03:15 AM

Alexandra followed Kagami into the forest cautiously, watching in surprise as Kagami's Pokemon attacked another girl's Pokemon until Kagami returned the Chimchar to its Pokeball. Her eyes carefully scanned this newcomer- her tanned skin, short, messy hair, frayed jeans, orange shirt and red vest. She looked like a nice enough person, and Vivian smiled, curtsying slightly when Kagami introduced her to Tikal.

The chirping of a bird distracted her and she looked up at the trees, her eyes eventually picking out a pale shape among the dark leaves. She only half-listened to the other girls' conversation as she watched Tikal's Pokemon try to scrabble up the tree to get at the bird. There were so many different types of Pokemon, and she couldn't believe that this was almost the first time she was seeing them. The world was so amazing, and this reminded her of how big it actually was, and how little she actually knew. After a few more moments, the bird flapped away and she turned her attention back to the conversation, just in time to catch the end of it.

"Try a body of water. It's a source of life, so they would attract wildlife. Or berry bushes, they do the trick as well."

Vivian filed this away in her mind as she followed Tikal, pausing in the shadows of a tree and peering out from behind it at a small gathering of Pokemon. They were running around happily, playing with each other and oblivious to the three girls staring at them. Vivian noticed a cute yellow Pokemon nibbling on some berries from a bush and smiled- it looked absolutely adorable. And she would have been content to sit there and watch them for a while, observing their antics. It was very peaceful and the Pokemon looked like they were having fun... and she was tired from wandering around the forest for half the day.

Posted by: Weavile99 Aug 16 2009, 09:07 AM

"Um, Tikal," Kagami began. "Would you please show us the way to Fidona? I heard you say that you knew a trail that could lead us out. I need to get to Fidona."

Chimchar lept out of the Pokeball and snatched up a Weedle ( weedle.gif ). He stared at the Weedle in hands and set it down.

"Ack! Chimchar! Be nice!" Chimchar just glanced at Kagami, then turned back to the Pokemon. Kagami sighed. Impish Pokemon are so hard to deal with sometimes.

Posted by: rt117 Aug 16 2009, 10:20 AM

Tikal laughed lightly at the Chimchar's antics, before nodding. "Sure, I'd be more than happy to tag along if that's alright. And it might just be me, but your Tyrogue seems to be bored. Perhaps he'd like a bit of practice with my Nidoran?" she offered, knowing that she could use the experience, as well as her Pokemon.

Posted by: Lady Vivian Aug 16 2009, 11:12 AM

"Wait! Mudkip, stop!" Vivian hissed under her breath, catching the look in her Pokemon's eye. But he ignored her and ran out, wanting to play with the wild Pokemon. The sound of him crashing through the bushes seemed to alert and startle the Pokemon- some of the birds flew away and the others scattered, getting away as fast as they could. The yellow Pokemon by the bushes, however, didn't move fast enough and when Mudkip burst through, he barreled right into it. The other Pokemon squeaked in alarm and tried to run away, only to be tackled to the ground again, bowled over by Mudkip's rough play.

"Mudkip! Get back here! Leave it alone!" Vivian called as she strode forward, nearly tripping over a tree root in her haste to get to her Pokemon. The yellow one suddenly sparked, and Mudkip jumped back, a little afraid but more irritated than anything else. So he used Mud Slap, kicking up mud and hitting the Pokemon, seeming to knock it out. Vivian managed to return him to his Pokeball before leaning over the smaller Pokemon in concern. It looked like it was hurt, so she took out another Pokeball and captured it, deciding that she would go to a Pokemon Center as soon as they got out of here so it could be checked out.

Her Pokedex beeped in her pack- she'd nearly forgotten about it- and she pulled it out, flipping it open as it read her the stats of the Pokemon. Pichu, the Tiny Mouse Pokemon. Despite its small size, it can zap even adult humans. However, if it does so, it also surprises itself.

Pichu, so that was what it was called. It really was quite cute- maybe she'd even keep it. But she wasn't going to let her Mudkip out for a while- he'd already caused enough trouble today. She'd returned to the other two, who were talking.

"Sure, I'd be more than happy to tag along if that's alright. And it might just be me, but your Tyrogue seems to be bored. Perhaps he'd like a bit of practice with my Nidoran?"

That reminded her- "Kagami, weren't you going to teach me how to battle?" she asked. "Mudkip's being a handful, but I can use the other two."

Posted by: Weavile99 Aug 16 2009, 01:29 PM

"Oh, sure. Tyrogue, would you like to?"

Tyrogue glanced up and smiled. "Ty!"
"He'd love to. Shall I begin..? Tyrogue, use Double Team!" Out of nowhere, 20 Tyrogue doubles made a circle around Tikal and Nidoran.

Posted by: rt117 Aug 16 2009, 03:39 PM

ooc: I haven't even brought out Nidoran XD but i guess we'll just have to assume...

Tikal was caught up in the moment, her Nidoran out in front of her with his large pink and green ears perked up. "Try Leer." she called to her pokemon, its eyes then beginning to glow red. If the true Tyrogue was to look at its eyes then it would be affected, the Poison Pin Pokemon's ears constantly moving and twitching to detect the correct Pokemon.

The other Pichu watched in horror as its friend was snatched away. Unfortunately for it as Mudkip had begun the fray, Tikal was oblivious to her Totodile racing forwards and tackling the similar sized pokemon, ending up using Scratch on it by mistake.

Posted by: Lady Vivian Aug 21 2009, 12:35 AM

OOC: I am currently preparing for college, so I will not be able to get on as frequently for the time being. If necessary, you two can go on without me and assume I'm following you guys.

Posted by: Weavile99 Aug 22 2009, 08:29 AM

"Don't look!" But it was too late. Nidoran was charging the real Tyrogue and Tyrogue was too afraid to move. "Tyrogue, use Tackle!" Tyrogue snapped out of the leer and tackled the Nidoran. Ouch! The horn stabbed him in the chest. "Quick, use Brick Break!" Tyrogue's arm turned red with power. Tyrogue quickly brought it down with much force, and the Nidoran looked hurt. But so did Tyrogue.

Kagami looked at the two Pokemon. Tyrogue grinned, and got back up, ready for more. Neither Pokemon was hurt badly. "Are you ready?" Kagami asked.

Posted by: rt117 Aug 22 2009, 12:05 PM

ooc: okay. and Kagami beware of Poison Point (poisoning on contact), and also that Nidoran has a resistance to Fighting type moves grin.gif

Nidoran skidded to a halt, and shook its head to recover from the short stun, moving back to his original position. "Good job!" Tikal cheered, glad that she was doing something right. "Retaliate with Peck!"
Almost right away Nidoran suddenly charged at Tyrogue, the small horn on his forehead glowing as he took a stab at Tyrogue with his horn.

The remaining Pichu got to its feet and in fear sparks flew from its cheeks, latting off a small Thundershock which hit Totodile, but in the process shocked itself. Totodile, although hurt badly by the super effective hit, used Scratch on Pichu again, scoring a critical hit while the small Pokemon was stunned by its own electricity, finishing it off. In his own victory, the Totodile picked up the Pichu in his jaws and carried it off to Tikal like a dog carrying an animal back for a reward.

OOC: I told you two you could go on without me. I'm still interested, but I've been too busy getting ready and setting up to post 'til now.

Vivian leaned against a tree, idly stroking her Chikorita as she watched Kagami and Tikal battle, her actions smooth and relaxed, but her eyes sharply observant. Even though she was trying to learn by watching them, she also couldn't help feeling drawn in by the battle- it wasn't as thrilling as the one she'd seen on TV, the first one that had inspired her to take up Pokemon training, but it was still amazing. She couldn't help wincing slightly in sympathy as the Pokemon hit each other- it looked like they were getting hurt. Which was to be expected in a fight, but she had always been a little soft-hearted when it came to animals.

She couldn't help hoping Tikal and Kagami would finish soon though- she wanted to get out of this forest and hopefully get the Nurse to check on the Pichu. And in order to do that, she needed someone who knew the way out, namely, Tikal. She noticed that the forest had fallen silent again, most likely as all the other wild Pokemon had run away from the sound of the fighting, just like any other wild animals. It was so strange- she'd grown up in a world where Pokemon were everywhere, yet she'd never really been aware of them.

As the battle showed no signs of relenting, she carefully lowered her parasol and folded it as she took shelter beneath a tree's wide, spreading branches, casting dappled shadows on the ground. Smoothing her dress, she settled down on a protruding root and let Chikorita down to play with Torchic as she continued to watch Kagami and Tikal.

Posted by: Weavile99 Sep 7 2009, 02:58 PM

OOC: Don't delete it pleeaase.

"Gah!!" Tyrogue winced, and didn't look so good.

"Tyrogue!" Kagami didn't know what was wrong. The Nidorin looked fine, but Tyrogue looked miserable. Kagami realized that it had been infected with poisen. Kagami looked in her pack, she had no antidote. She looked back at Tyrogue, wondering if it was best to continue or heal him as best she could. Chimchar looked worried. Tyrogue looked at Kagami, a determined look on his face and turned back to the battle. Nidoran was charging at him. The horn struck him on the chest, and he flew back, hitting the Pichu and Totodile. The Pichu ran away. Tyrogue could barely stand.

"Tyrogue, Swords Dance!" Tyrogue started to do some sort of ritual in which he danced around mysterious floating swords. He looked more ready than ever. "Now, Tackle!"

Posted by: rt117 Sep 12 2009, 09:43 AM

ooc: alright. It was mainly because I wanted to get a RP done, and Weavil hadn't posted in...2 weeks. Also Pichu is KOed, and both are beside Tikal

"Nidoran, Leer! Try to stop him in his tracks!"
As Nidoran's eyes glowed red at Tyrogue, Tikal felt a slight tug on her pants, and she looked down to see Totodile with an unconscious Pichu. She frowned, immediately picking up the unconscious Pokemon before Totodile hurt it even more. This didn't seem to hurt his enthusiasm though, as he continued to dance about, until he rushed over to go play with Vivian's Chickorita and Torchic.

Posted by: Tsubasa4Ever Oct 4 2009, 01:06 PM

Tyrougue stopped suddenly. "Ty!" he exclaimed. After a second or two he recovered.

"Tyrogue, use Tackle again!!" Again the poisen points got him. Chimchar gasped. Tyrogue was KOd

"You win!" Kagami said with some regret. She knew she was out-typed and that she had less experience, but she had believed in Tyrogue. Oh well.

Posted by: rt117 Oct 9 2009, 10:10 PM

"Hey don't worry about it." Tikal smiled as she picked up Nidoran with a smile, still holding the Pichu in the other arm. "We've still got our whole lives to practice and improve. Who says this will be our only fight?"
Setting Nidoran back down, she pulled out a Pokeball, and doing similar to Vivian earlier, gently tapped the front onto the injured Pokemon's forehead, causing it to disappear in a red beam. "I guess we should head on towards the closest town then?"
