Could someone tell me what exactly the flame orb does? It's description is really confusing. "Allows one premature egg to hatch early if it has full maturity." If the egg has full maturity, then how could it be premature? And I have yet to see any option that would seem to allow me to use it. There's nothing on the pokemon themselves and it doesn't seem usable from my bag. So what exactly am I missing?
By premature it means before you have owned the egg for an hour. Pretty much, when you get an egg, regardless of whether you get the maturity to hatch it, you have to have owned the egg for an hour before you can hatch it. The Flame Orb allows you to hatch said egg before the one hour limit.
Say I adopt an egg from the lab, and it was laid at 9:20 PM. If it was at full maturity by 9:50, for example, I would be able to use one Flame Orb to hatch it early, whereas normally I would have had to wait until 10:20 to hatch it. They're very, very useful on multiplier days where people are clicking like mad and they don't want to end up with a party of eggs under the 1 hour limit.
Ah, alright, I get it now. Thank you all. I guess I'll hold on to them then. Might be useful for the zorua hunt.
o you nee a flame orb to hatch a shiny hunt egg early?
An egg must be at least one hour old to hatch. You can use a Flame Orb to ignore the one-hour rule for one egg. Simple enough, huh ? :p
