Do you prefer cats or dogs? I personally prefer cats, and I have 3.
Oh, tough choice! I love them both, but I can't have either. Where I live, I can only keep small dogs, but my family would rather not. I do love cats, but I have this nagging suspicion I have a mild allergy to them, because some cats make me break out it rashes.
It breaks my heart ;________;
I prefer dogs, a not popular opinion apparently. I don't have any because I'm allergic to pet fur.
Voted cats, but dogs just as equally.
I have two purebred Border collies and a silver tabby-cat.
I prefer cats. I currently own neither, but have taken care of both on several occasions, and used to own a dog for a while. The cats were less of a pain because they were quiet and could be trusted not to thrash the house if left unsupervised.
I have had really good experiences with dogs, though, like my neighbor's jack russell, the golden retriever from a western-themed summer camp I used to go to, and the labradoodle that belonged to my brother's friend. They were all very sweet.
When I get my own house, I'm going to get a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ragdoll cat as a companion. They're my favorite breed. (My dad hates cats, so I can't get one right now.)
I love both, but I like cats just a bit better. I have 3 right now (1 at dad's, 2 at mom's) and a dog at my mom's. In total, I've had 8 cats (4 at each house), 3 dogs (1 at my dad's who we gave to the shelter after we were no longer able to take care of, and one at my mom's who didn't get along well with the cats), and my mom fostered two dogs while they waited for an owner. Plus, I might get a dog at the beginning of the next school year.
In addition, I have had four hamsters, three mice, and countless fish (I even have a mini shark right now c:). So yeah. We're a pet family.
I like cats a lot better than dogs. I have one right now, Raeanne. I rescued her from people who were not taking care of her at all. I've had three cats in my life. The other two were when I was little. Their names were Spotty and D.C. ,that darn cat and he lived up to his name:). I am definately a cat person. Geno and I are planning on getting another cat for Raeanne to play with.
I had a dog... :/ but she died in early april <3
Prefer dogs to cats
-points to spoiler in siggy-
Dogs all the way. I have two: a Pomeranian named Bella and a Pomeranian-Teacup Poodle mix named Tumnus.
I prefer dogs over cats. I guess I couldn´t live without a dog... I´m used to have a dog around me. Dogs are way more loyal than cats. And much cuter, in my opinion at least.
And somehow, I don´t even like cats. I dunno why, but I would never want a cat in my house.
I've had cats and dogs all my life, and always at the same time, so I can't really say which one I like better. Right now, I have 2 cats and 2 dogs and they all get along quite nicely. Heck, my cat Gordon will play with my dogs Digger and Harley like he was a dog himself! It's quite funny to watch! My other cat's name is Leo and he's a lazy bum! He just sleeps all day and he's not really a people person, but he'll crawl right into your lap once he gets to know you.
I love both, but I prefer dogs just by a little bit.
Cats, cause my first (and only) pet was cat. I used to have allergy on all animals, but when in my life appeared my cat allergy was mysteriously cured.... I have 1 cat.
Both are equally awesome, but I voted for cat.
We can't have pets, since our aunts who live with us wouldn't allow it.
Ill take cats any day, we have 5 [though I want a pitbull terribly]
I prefer dogs. They're more social, upbeat, and caring. They're always super excited to see you come home everyday, which makes you happy. They love to play with people and always tell you when they want or need something such as food or the outdoors. A lot of dogs are easily trainable and easily get along with humans. They're waaaay more loyal, too.
I've been around cats before, but meh.. I just found them too independent. They seem way too lazy and independent for my tastes. And they're gone over half of the day sleeping, making it really hard to form close bonds like with dogs. It's hard to train cats to do tricks (come, stay, etc etc) because of their independent nature. Besides, you can't get the excersize that walking a dog'll give you, but with a cat..
I have two dogs: Clifford (6 year old Beagle) and Ringo (2 year old Border Collie mix that we adopted from a local shelter).
I have Cynophobia so I prefer cats. Well, until my family had 16 of them. Don't ask me why I moved out of my house.
Cats.... i've two
I like cats more by far. Dogs smell, yes they do, now shut up. You also have to take them out of the house every time they want to go to the bathroom unless you want them to go in the house, the bark a lot, they try and eat stuff off the table, they follow you around and try to stick their wet, disgusting noses everywhere you are, they need too much attention and they slobber all over. They also play bite which hurts.
Cats go to the litter box, don't jump on you, are light enough to be able to pick them up, don't play bite much at all, don't need that much attention, don't beg for table scraps of much of anything at all, don't try to interrupt your homework and don't smell as much as dogs.
That isn't to say that I don't like dogs, I do, but they have to be somebody else's dog. I'm sensitive to smell and that's one of the main reasons that I cannot handle dogs.
Cats. <3 Only because my dog doesn't like to cuddle with me. T_T
I prefer cats as also.
My wife and I currently have 5 though we suspect one will pass to the rainbow bridge sooner rather than later. He's sixteen. I keep hoping it's much much later though... such a good boy.
Originally we planned on just having 3 (two kittens and the old fart) but a bangle was just given to us (and all the no kill shelters were full) so we took him in. It's like a $700+ cat anyways so no complaints.
The other was our neighbors at our old apartment.
The neighbor passed away. Was apparently dead for like a week in her apartment before family came by, called 911, etc. Then her cat was just left there for another week all by herself with only toilet water to drink and no food in the hot (100+ degree) summer weather.
Suprised no one had rescued her by then we convinced maintenance to let us take her. Then when family finally did show up they asked if we wanted to keep her, we said yes, they seemed relieved, and gave us her cat toys and things.
Since then she (Hermione - assumed named after the character) has become my favorite kitty of all time.
Just don't tell my first kitten (ever), Q, that. :p
But even once our kitties pass away (hopefully) many many years from now we still plan on fostering cats for the local animal shelter. May even start when we're down to two - it'd help socialize them in preparation for adoption.
Dogs all the way, imo. I overall prefer canines.
But I own a cat. lol.
I really don't like cats. They bother me. A lot.
Oh well. Just me.
As much as I do love kittys I have to say dogs. My cat is really old (18 years old to be exact) and he might just kick the bucket soon. He's really sweet too, but my dogs are always there for me when I'm upset. They are much more social than my cat, which is probably like dogs better than cats.
I prefer dogs but I love cats too. Dogs seem to have more of a relationship with their owners, than cats do.
I've never had a pet dog but i've had lots of cats. They all died or ran away though
Look at my username and guess.
BIRDS!
For the poll, I prefer cats.
I love cats more despite the fact I have two dogs and only 1 cat.
I have no pets, but I prefer dogs just a tiny millimeter more than cats.
GO CAT^S!
I prefer cats.
They're less work, but they're still there for you.
I have three dogs and a cat. I love all four of them but cats have qualities that I prefer. Not having to bathe them weekly is one of them-XD
So obviously I voted for CATS!!
dogs
cats are lazy unless its a kitten!
Whaaat, cats are winning! :c
But dogs are so awesome man. :C
Dogs for me, at least I can play with them and they make me feel better.
Cats just roam around and stuff from what I've seen my cousin's cat do...
Tough choice. It honestly depends on my mood and what type of dog or cat it is, and if they're nice and cuddly or not. I like both, but I picked cats for this poll.
i love dogs <3 i have 2
I do not have a favourite.
Both my cat and dog are very much equally loved.
I like cats more. I think dogs are a little to wild for me.
We had a cat but she died last month. I still miss her.
We also have a dog.
Why can't we have both? I have both a cat and a dog.
Dogs are totally losing this poll? That's weird. Every other dog vs cat poll I've seen had dogs beating cats by a mile.
Anyway, dogs by far. I don't like cats, they're lazy and boring. Most of them, anyway. My grandma's little cat is actually quite cute and entertaining. But other than her, they're just boring and lazy and they're not as much fun to play with as dogs. I'd rather go outside and throw my dog's tennis ball for him than sit on the floor in the house holding a shoelace for my dumb cat to claw at.
And going to the dog park with my two doggies is fun too. And walking dogs is good exercise and also fun. I've rarely heard of people doing this with their cats. And there's a reason dogs are called man's best friend (and woman's). <3
I voted zero cats and two dogs, but that's my vote for how many of each I'd prefer to have. xP
Whew.. It's a hard choice but I'll have to pick Cats. I have only one cat and three french bulldogs.. I would like to have two but my parents refuse to let me have another.
I like cats because they (from my experiences) switch back and forth of crazy spazy puff balls or calm purring happy kitties, also ever outside cat I have seen always come up to me.
I want to hug every cat..
I love dogs! I have 1 myself. For a year ago we had 2 but, no....
Cats. Mostly because they're super low maintenance.
I'm super lazy.
I prefer neither. I like both.
I however have my heart set on owning a dog someday, something medium or large.
Hopefully when we move next year it might become a possibility.
I prefer cats. I blame my first cat for making me fall in love. I love dogs too, but I'm more of a cat person, since I prefer peace and quiet. I also like a bit of me time, and cat's don't make as much ruckus nor do they constantly ask for attention. Or at least my cat doesn't.
I do have a cat. My first cat died; she was hit by an idiot who was driving 35MPH in a residential area, hit her and kept driving. >:| I have a second cat, and she is soooo cute.
I also have a dog, but the dog is my sister's. We're just crashing at the same place. The dog is a Border Collie/Bulldog mix, but she has just the right amount from both sides, so she looks so pretty with her luxurious, but short, fur and super fluffy ears and tail.
@Kelleo: Maybe you just met the boring cats. My baby girl loves to play outside with people. She's a cat, but she loves to chase whatever you throw, and she follows me and my family members whenever we're outside. We're training her to walk at a local park too, and she's doing a pretty decent job, although she gets scared easily when a big dog comes. It's especially cute when she's walking beside my sister's dog. :P
i am a dog person.... of that there's no doubt.....
I like cats and dogs. But I like dogs more.
I like both equal, it really depends on the "breed/type" of cat or dog.
My favorite(s) from both are:
Cat -> the Lynx, the Wildcat(there are loads of them, I know), the Shorthair
Dog -> the Fox, the Shiba/Akita Inu, the Wolf
For example, if I had to pick between a Labrador or a Lynx, I'd pick the lynx.
If I had to choose between a Shiba Inu or a Russian, I'd choose the Shiba.
I'm allergic to cats, and I love dogs! <3
I have a dog right now, too. He's sitting on my lap. c:
Cats. I have 5, 6 if you count the stray that's been lurking around outside. One of my friends tells me I'm going to be one of those crazy cat ladies in the future XP
I do have a dog, and I love him to pieces, but man I don't think I could have two of them. I'm lazy
I personally prefer cats, and I have two of the little moggies How and ever, my boyfriend does have the cutest dog ever!
Cats. They are amazing.
Though I love dogs, I have to say I prefer cats. But this is probably only because I have grown up with them all my life, and both my mum and my grandfather breed them. Plus, i have my own little cat that I absolutely Adore
I adore both but I choose dogs over cats. I've never really seen a real cat in my life whereas I've grown up with dogs.
Dogs, all the way.
For many reasons, although obviously, people much prefer cats.
These may be very average reasons, but I think that Dogs are more loyal and friendly than cats. Yes, they bark, yes, they smell sometimes, but do cats get all excited when you walk in from being out all day, and all they want to do is love you? Cats would go to whoever feeds them the best food. Plus, some cats go out and kill animals, then come in and walk all over the furniture. *shivers*
Cats for sure! (: I have one right now, & his name is Mario 'cause he has a little mustache like Mario. xD
Cats!!
Dogs all the way! I don't own any, but once I'm living by myself or my best friend, I'd love 2 dogs, a German Shepherd named Hurricane and a Husky named Blizzard. Maybe breed them for the ultimate dog, of which I'd name Typhoon.
I like dogs. One of my dogs sometimes just sits there and growls at me to get my attention.
I do like cats too, but it's hard to play with cats without them clawing you sometimes. But it is funny when my fat cat gets playful. She runs around attacking a little plastic cup (And my dog I mentioned before is scared of her XD).
Kittens all the way!
My nana has 2 kittens and I love them!
I prefer dogs they are more obidient but cats are more clean, so it is a thought decision for me.
I prefer dogs they are more obidient but cats are more clean, so it is a thought decision for me.
both have their dis/advantages... but I choos cat, because they're more carefree ~
I'm a huge cat lover! I love these furry little critters lol
I'm a cat lover, and I'm not real fond of most dogs. Currently have five cats, at one time I had seven. Interestingly enough, the cats don't bother our pet fish, but it's real funny seeing them at the windows while a bird is right outside taunting them.
I have a grey stray cat I adopted. His name is Gandalf, and he is kinda chubby now... >,>
I love both very much, but if I had to choose, it would be dogs. I prefer small to medium dogs, which of course are easy to carry around. I have a weakness for puppies or kittens, so I'll take as many as I can handle. Which is about 2 of each. :P
Cats for the win!
