Were the raffle tickets removed from the prize shop? I was trying to purchase some to spend my coins once my total was finalized and I could math how much excess I would have, but can't seem to find them.

Edit: After checking with a friend, yeah, sounds like they were removed. This feels... really kind of awful tbh. I'm sure I wasn't the only one waiting to see how many coins I ended up with before making purchases, and since the raffle wasn't predicted to happen until "the later half of the day server time." I don't think there was any reason to expect the raffle tickets to be removed immediately at midnight. Feels really, really bad. Like especially with them being uncapped (so it wasn't the kind of thing where a person could go, "Yeah, I can only buy 15, might as well get them done first"), it felt very much like a "wait until the end to see what the excess is" kind of purchase, only to have the rug yanked out. Idk.

I understand the circumstances of this year, and I definitely don't think that important family time should be interrupted for a silly pokemon browser game, but I genuinely feel like almost every detail that went into the raffle this year was handled really poorly. I would personally rather have seen the raffle rescheduled for a different time of year entirely than to be so poorly executed. I'm not trying to just hate aimlessly or anything, and I want to be clear that this criticism is coming from a place of still enjoying this site and wanting the best for it. Staff lives come first, and I mean that very genuinely: I wouldn't want the raffle to trump the importance of a literal actual human baby and a growing family. But I do wish it could've just been moved instead of handled like this, especially given that it's a once-a-year special event.

FYI there's a typo in the mystery gift code for chest form gimmighoul. it should be "SEEY0U1NPALDEA"

I’m sorry that you planned it this way based on a misunderstanding. If you look at historical raffles, it has always been that entries in to it end at reset on December 31st, New Year’s Eve, because it is a New Year’s Raffle. Whether it was the old Activity Score style raffle, the Coin-based raffle from last year, or this new “purchase as many entries as you’d like” style.

The wording in the original post was that it was subject to change and that we should be able to run the raffle by later in the day, but “running” it and “buying entries” is different.

This had nothing to do with our “circumstances” or our family time, and in fact I’d say this raffle was handled perfectly rather than poorly. I understand the post was prefaced with it being due to an unpredictable month for us, but we actually planned it this “buy entries as a prize” way to make sure other people didn’t feel obligated to play on NYE (like every past raffle) so they could spend time with family. The unpredictable month part for us was more about us not planning another Karp-style event, as that was mayhem last year.

At most, the post was missing additional bulleted fine print clarifying as many details as we could think of, but I honestly don’t think any of us thought that people would plan to wait until midnight to buy them, and that’s definitely a clarifying question that users could have asked. Now we know of course, so expect the fine print next year.

Hope you have a great 2024!

I was a little unsure about the raffle format this year when it was announced, but in hindsight I do hugely appreciate that it didn't require a big playtime commitment on New Years Eve this year. I definitely felt a lot more able to enjoy this event at a sustainable pace and balancing raffle tickets against other prizes was actually an interesting challenge to think about in the end.

Hey hey heeeeey! grin.gif
First of all:

Happy New Year 2024!

A new year is now here and with it it comes the small confusions over if we are currently in 2023 or it's 2024.
Don't lie, I know you've also had to erase the year a couple of times by now.

BUT EITHER WAY.
Let's hope (and more importantly, work for! for a wonderful year full with beautiful moments, shall we?

As for the community tradition of the SWSH... At the end of last month https://forums.gpx.plus/index.php?&showtopic=79559, and since a bunch of people seemed to enjoy the idea, here is the result of it!

Please, consider voting for the winning theme:

Lazy Sunday.

Amazing Infographic made by https://forums.gpx.plus/index.php?showuser=61873!

And let's see if this new suggestion helps with the SWSH or not.

On another note:
OMG ANOTHER BABY?!?!?!
HOLY MOLY CONGRATS NICK AND JEN!!!
