The hunt is now over!

Congrats to all participants and winners! Being that we just introduced two new novelties last month, we decided against doing a new one for this month. However, in light of the fact that a large number of users missed out on the Dreidel event last month, we've given all SWSH winners one as a prize this month. See y'all again in March, yup yup!

Oh, neat. Hopefully all of this is also more efficient~!

Awww voting? i was hoping for no voting :B

Votes being hidden will be interesting, I wonder how spread out everything will end up being.

Posted by: Like a spiral Jan 4 2013, 07:46 PM

I sense an awesome new voting system. Sweet!

Posted by: Commander Wymsy Jan 4 2013, 07:46 PM

jeff over there ruining peoples' fun

But hey, at least after a round of voting I get to command March's stuff myself.

Posted by: pumpkinking0192 Jan 4 2013, 07:47 PM

The implementation of a new voting system sounds wonderful. Thanks, guys!

EDIT: Ah, yes. I voted for three Pokemon with split evolution lines, as I'd like to avoid the possibility of duplicate shinies if I can.

Posted by: North Star Jan 4 2013, 07:47 PM

Heh, nice change. Already entered my votes happy.gif

Posted by: Keyda Jan 4 2013, 07:47 PM

Can't wait for the hunt to start happy.gif

Posted by: Indoor Survival Jan 4 2013, 07:48 PM

I'm glad things were fixed. happy.gif I hope this method works out well!

Posted by: Crystalmethequins Jan 4 2013, 07:49 PM

I'm really pleased about the change to the voting system.

Posted by: Boogie Ronnster Jan 4 2013, 07:49 PM

Voting is a good civic duty so remember to vote people... unless you're allergic to voting. Then I forgive you.

Glad about the new voting rules!

Can't wait for the SWSH to begin!

Posted by: Infernatil Jan 4 2013, 07:49 PM

Better be Cubone. (or Heracross or Skarmory)

Cool update or something I guess.

Posted by: SilverLugia456 Jan 4 2013, 07:49 PM

I think the adjustments to the voting system are good and i hope that it all goes well, and yay for new hunt! Its going to be as fun as always ;3

Posted by: Riherpes Jan 4 2013, 07:50 PM

I like the new voting changes. Too lazy to cancel my Heracross hunt to vote for it in the SWSH. This time the voting will be fair and it'll be interesting to see the results now that they are hidden.

Posted by: Beauty Samantha Jan 4 2013, 07:51 PM

I only participated in my first SWSH in November so I am really excited to do it again this month! grin.gif
Now I just have to figure out which pokemon to vote for...with this shiny new voting method!

Posted by: Slix Jan 4 2013, 07:54 PM

Can't wait to see what the SWSH Pokemon ends up being!

Posted by: RainWater Jan 4 2013, 07:58 PM

cant wait to start the hunt

Posted by: m190049 Jan 4 2013, 07:58 PM

Oh, noticed it was different. I like the system though! Great job. ^^

Posted by: pochamachan Jan 4 2013, 07:59 PM

I've participated in quite a few site-wide shiny hunts and had pretty varied success rates so I'm quite excited for this one! I like how the voting's hidden this time around as well~

Posted by: Liliac Jan 4 2013, 08:00 PM

Hopefully it will be a Pokémon I really want to hunt happy.gif

Posted by: Pokii Jan 4 2013, 08:01 PM

Posted by: Jim Hawkins Jan 4 2013, 08:02 PM

Very interesting indeed! Wonder how this will turn out happy.gif

Posted by: Nyara Jan 4 2013, 08:02 PM

I like the new voting method. ^_^.gif Can't wait for the hunt to start.

Posted by: Sofia Jan 4 2013, 08:02 PM

Oh, what a much better way of doing things! I approve

Posted by: Keith Jan 4 2013, 08:03 PM

This is very interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing the results. happy.gif Hoping for Sigilyph to honor GPX's top ranked user ThunderMoss. Would be a nice tribute to her since she left GPX.

Much prefer this new voting system cat.gif

Slakoth for first shiny hunt 2013!!!

Posted by: Gendocide Jan 4 2013, 08:06 PM

Just a comment - when you hover over the Shine Recorder icon and it's telling you what to do, it says "please case your vote" instead of cast.

Posted by: Honey Bager Jan 4 2013, 08:06 PM

*Sigh* Looks like there's going to be another SWSH that I'll be late for.
But One the bright side, YYYYAAAHHH!!! SWSH!! WO!!

Posted by: Kitten Jan 4 2013, 08:10 PM

The new voting system is awesome! Can't wait until the new hunt!

Posted by: Spirit of Auron Jan 4 2013, 08:10 PM

I really like this new way of voting, and i also like the change for being promoted to newbie. Looking forward to the hunt when it starts happy.gif.

Posted by: Vibrancy Jan 4 2013, 08:13 PM

I like this method of voting much better, thank you. c:

Also another SWSH, yay! lugia.gif

Posted by: Saphiro Jan 4 2013, 08:16 PM

Nice precautions. Another great race is on the horizon!

Posted by: Galahawk Jan 4 2013, 08:17 PM

Interesting way to cast votes.
I'll just pick some I like and see where this goes.

Posted by: Aura Flare Riolu Jan 4 2013, 08:17 PM

I do approve of the new voting system. happy.gif

I just noticed something. When is the Christmas 2012 Voucher going to be usable?

Posted by: Daisy14 Jan 4 2013, 08:18 PM

yay for next one for SWSH as well.. hope for pokemons are. nice happy.gif

Posted by: Lunar Dance Jan 4 2013, 08:22 PM

This new voting system is neat; I especially like that the totals won't be revealed until voting is done. With all due respect, the old way felt a little one-sided imo - seeing what the admins picked always seemed to influence how everyone else voted, to me.

Looking forward to seeing how this turns out!

Posted by: Nathalie 404 Jan 4 2013, 08:28 PM

The new system is so awesome *O*

you'll no longer be able to vote for the SWSH if you registered after the poll opened, have not validated your account, or are still a Newbie.

Wouldn't that dramatically decrease the amount of votes? I'm down for "Accounts registered after aren't allowed to vote," but aren't Newbies a majority (if not majority, then a little under half?). My two cents.

QUOTE(Big Bidoof @ Jan 4 2013, 07:44 PM) *
Second, in order to inhibit tactical voting, the vote totals won't be published until after the vote has closed.

This so much. Thank you.

Good luck all (:

First of all, we're making a slight change to how user group promotions work. Starting now, in addition to posting 10 times to promote from Newbie to Member, you may also do so by unlocking all the "Newbie" achievements in the base achievement set. Anyone who has already met these requirements should promote immediately.

Finally! Being more of a clicker and less of a poster, I thought becoming a Member would be impossible for me. I'm really glad this change was made. It took a little over 3 years, but now I'm officially a Member! Yay! xD.gif

Posted by: Forget Me Love Jan 4 2013, 08:42 PM

super excited. first month back in two years so this will be my first site-wide shiny hunt. (:

Posted by: Rhapsody Jan 4 2013, 08:43 PM

I like the changes that were implemented; people rigging the votes is just bad. I mean really, they're pixels.

I voted for some higher-maturity Pokemon. Hopefully they get in so my life can be a little easier. I wanna keep my perfect SWSH streak going!

Posted by: Restless Kveldulf Jan 4 2013, 08:49 PM

Can't wait to see which pokemon win, now to decide what to vote for...

Posted by: Renaki Jan 4 2013, 09:03 PM

Ooh, I love the new voting system! I can't wait to see what three Pokemon are chosen this month! cat.gif

Posted by: Gothic Togekiss Jan 4 2013, 09:23 PM

As with everyone within this thread I love the new voting system for SWSH. Not knowing what three Pokemon we will have to hunt until it's too late adds an air of mystery, excitement, and anticipation in my eyes.

Posted by: xueric Jan 4 2013, 09:28 PM

Now I just need to stop being a newbie...

Posted by: Jim Hawkins Jan 4 2013, 09:41 PM

Votes sent in happy.gif Here's to some good voting!
I hope one of the ones I picked gets in grin.gif

Posted by: Mysticman89 Jan 4 2013, 09:42 PM

On my first read I felt it was "In addition to needing 10 posts, you also need to unlock the newbie achievements" rather then it being a or statement. I was quite confused when it appeared to allow me to vote as I don't have the requisite posts as a result...

That said, I do wish there was something more solid to confirm my vote has been cast. When I click to submit my picks, it pops up with a message "Thanks for voting!", but I seem to be able to do so again and again with the same message. I understand this is so people can change their votes, but it'd be nice if after the first submission it said "Resubmit your votes" or something to that effect instead, just to confirm that the initial votes actually went through.

edit: Two of my votes went to a split line, and one went to a certain dragon popular for battling. I encourage people to do similar with regards to split line votes, if theres any of the split line pokemon people like.

Posted by: Jade SkyBlaze Jan 4 2013, 09:42 PM

I like this idea of voting from GPXPlus. It should make it simpler for all sides.

Posted by: Aura Flare Riolu Jan 4 2013, 09:46 PM

QUOTE(Shine Recorder)
Voting is open for a Site-Wide Shiny Hunt! You may vote for up to three Pokémon that meet the following conditions: 1) The Pokémon must have a rarity common, uncommon or rare and must be breedable; 2) The Pokémon must not have already been hunted in an SWSH; 3) You must be able to start a shiny hunt for this Pokémon. You may change your vote at any time before the hunt is opened, on 2013-01-12 at Reset (11:55 PM server time).

The fact that you must have the Dex entry to be able to vote for the Pokémon you want to hunt is a huge plus!

It said in the first post that the newbie/member split isn't determined solely by forum posts anymore. So ANYONE with all the basic newbie achievements is automatically upgraded to regular member status and therefore, eligible to vote.

That's because he three slots for voting you're given are the only ones you get, but until the poll officially closes you can change your three votes as much as you want.

Why can I not vote for which pokemon I want in the SWSH? I registered before the voting started, but it says I registered after it started. I registered at the end of November 2012. Is this a glitch of some kind?

I like this new system~

I'll vote tomorrow, after thinking well so I don't have to change my vote later.

Posted by: Shadow Darkrai Jan 5 2013, 12:09 AM

New voting system seems much more effective. Good luck to everyone on their hunts when it starts!

Posted by: Myou Jan 5 2013, 12:10 AM

Nice, good way to prevent people from taking advantage of the voting system... As far as voting, i'm going to put my votes into split evolution pokemon (pokemon that can evolve into more than one form depending on certain conditions)... that way, if they get picked, everyone has a much better chance of being able to hunt something they don't have yet.

Posted by: Synx Itax Jan 5 2013, 12:26 AM

COUGHAXEWCOUGH

It's my birthday month, so it would be incredibly awesome if that were one of the shinies we had to hunt. Even if I already have one. x)

Posted by: Terezi Pyrope Jan 5 2013, 12:31 AM

Still need to finish November's shiny hunt shakefist.gif

Posted by: Kelleo Jan 5 2013, 12:48 AM

Ah, I like this new voting system a lot! It should definitely prevent any polls from being rigged and members from cheating in any way.

I don't have any shiny hunts currently going on, so I'm completely free to start when the Pokemon are chosen! I'll just have to empty my party first. I've already cast my votes too. ^^

Posted by: Daemon Jan 5 2013, 01:59 AM

Gah! I need to hurry up and finish hunting my Slugma before this begins. :[

Posted by: Karofsky Jan 5 2013, 02:17 AM

I don't think the pokemon I voted for will be picked but ah well~ It's much more exciting having little clue as to what will be chosen. I love the new voting system though it's a shame you can't vote for hunts you're already on. Then again, I already have too many side hunts anyway~ The new 'Newbie to Member' system is much more fair to those who are only interested in GPX+ too.

Here's to a new hunt!

Posted by: Vande Jan 5 2013, 02:41 AM

Nice way of doing this BB. Hopefully it will stop the bs that happened last month.

Posted by: Handsome Jack Jan 5 2013, 04:03 AM

The best thing about it is that the three winning pokémon stay a mystery until hunting begins, it'll make things exciting and I'm sure there could be a little surprise from time to time. ^^ *now to think which pokémon to vote for*

Posted by: Lodrelhai Jan 5 2013, 06:49 AM

I like the new voting system a lot! It'll be interesting to see how it goes.

Though how will the system handle a tie in 3rd place?

And any chance this hunt the link for the SWSH in the Shine Recorder will be fixed? I reported it both in the hunt thread and the Bugs board last hunt, and I know others reported it in the hunt before that.

Posted by: Bolthorn Jan 5 2013, 07:13 AM

Wow, really liked the new voting system.. You guys make the game more amazing every month! wink.gif

One doubt, though, can we vote more than once?

Posted by: luker2008 Jan 5 2013, 10:34 AM

Yay! Another shiny hunt blargagh.gif Hopefully I complete it this time, also I like the new voting system

Posted by: Rai Shado Jan 5 2013, 11:27 AM

I do like this new voting system, for most part. The only thing I dislike is the fact that I can't see how my picks are doing. Vote for Charmander and Cyndaquil.

Btw, if we keep doing three at a time then we will have 63 more SWSH's spread over ten and half years before all thats left are the very rare and novelties.

Posted by: hwd45 Jan 5 2013, 11:35 AM

Oh, yay, maybe after 2-and-a-half years of using the website I won't be a newbie anymore?

...wait, no, I haven't got the newbie commuter achievement *bangs head against wall*

...wait, never mind, apparently I'm a member anyway, oh joy

I was going to ask the same thing, but I also have an idea to fix that. Tie-breaker polls. Like the current poll, you'd only be able to vote through the Shine Recorder, but this time, you can only vote for the Pokemon that tied for third or second place. If the Pokemon with the most amount of votes consists of more than a three-way tie (ie, Pokemon A, B, C, and D or more have the most votes) then the tie-breaker poll will decide not just second and third place, but first as well. Basically, it would work a lot like the multiple polls system we had before, only with the new rules in effect.

This is just my idea though.

Also, I recently realized that I actually won't be around for the start of the SWSH this time. I'm supposed to go to Disney World that weekend, and then I have volunteer work the Monday after. Ugh, what bad timing. Oh well, I'll still have time to try for a shiny after, just a few days less than usual.

Wasn't it only the ones in the first set of achievements you need? Newbie commuter isn't from the first set, it's from the last one. Also, I see that you are in the members class.

And about the tiebreaking. I think it's just as simple to just give an admin a double vote to declare a winner, or toss a coin.

Posted by: Lucca Majere Jan 5 2013, 11:42 AM

Oh good I was worried I wouldn't count as a member for a minute because I didn't have "Total Bankruptcy". Which by the way is not an easy achievement to get, because having exactly 0 points is actually pretty difficult.

Posted by: Thnikkaman Jan 5 2013, 12:21 PM

:/ I miss the old way with saying the name so i could tell how many votes Magikarp got.
harumph, i only want to vote for one... also how will I know which to vote for in the second roll?
wait is that not happening?
ugh, personally I think i's lame that such implementation was "needed" because apparently some people "cheated"

though the other preventions should have been enough I think i kinda liked the ability and the sociality of the old way

but it doesn't surprise me
though this is a pokémon site and children are to be expected; the most childish behaviour seems to come from teens and adults that are too immature to play a game fairly.

but yea, will we be able to see a count page after the vote closes?

Posted by: Chrome Jan 5 2013, 12:28 PM

Thanks for the new voting system, though I'm not sure how this would all work out in the end. Can't wait to complete one of the sitewide shiny hunts in less than 50 eggs. I will continue to donate tot hi amazing site, keep up the good work.

You can change your votes if you want to happy.gif Although, this is the only vote you'll be able to do. It's not going to have say, 2 polls or whatever because that's the old system. You just choose 3 Pokémon, which counts as voting, and you can change your vote at any time before reset of the given date.

*tries to crack her knuckles, then remembers she can't* After the November '12 SWSH drama, I figured that the Big Three would revamp the voting system. And this revamp seems pretty fair, too. No more n00bs fucking up the vote results and whatnot. Now, who should I vote for..? hmm.gif *votes* Alright, I went for three whose shinies I really love.gif. Hopefully, at least one of my voted-for 'mons makes the finals. *crosses fingers*

In my opinion, the new voting system is more efficient and better than the previous version.
Happy hunting everyone!! happy.gif

Posted by: Maria1 Jan 5 2013, 05:32 PM

This will be interesting.

This is definitely better than the old voting system. Though I'm a bit worried that without feedback we'll just end up with the three most popular Pokémon, because we won't be able to agree on anything else. That's the one thing I liked about the old system - being able to change my vote if I saw that what I had originally picked had no chance of winning and something else I didn't have the shiny of yet did. But I suppose we'll have to wait and see how this turns out - maybe with all the new restrictions it will work better than it seems.

Also, thank you for the change in promotion to Member. It was weird being in top 100 and still in the Newbie group.

Posted by: the1stpkmnfan Jan 5 2013, 05:42 PM

It's superb! I can't see any wrong in it, and voting looks so simple now. happy.gif Actually, I think this is the first time I have seen myself voting here like this.

Posted by: Rapps Jan 5 2013, 06:46 PM

LOVE the new voting system. I've always thought that people just tended to vote for the Pokémon they thought was going to win by how many votes it had in the thread, it's so much better having it like this, that way people will vote for what they actually want instead of what they think will win.

Posted by: Ratt Jan 5 2013, 08:14 PM

Interesting way to have the voting set up. I'll head over there right now!

Posted by: Griffling Jan 5 2013, 10:23 PM

I like this change. I bet the first winners are going to be super popular ones like Charmander and Riolu. But you know, they can only win once and eventually the popular ones will be weeded out. After a few months it'll get more interesting.

I voted for Lunatone, Oddish, and Ekans. Really random, probably no chance of winning this time. I was tempted to vote for Farfetch'd because this is the first time it's actually possible to do so, right? xD

I was tempted to vote for Farfetch'd because this is the first time it's actually possible to do so, right? xD

No, I'm sorry, I think that outcome is a little farfetched.

Very bad pun but I had to take the opportunity, it was just glaring me in the face daring me too.

Voted~ cat.gif
I highly doubt that my chosen ones will win but hey, I tried xD

Posted by: Slade Wilson Jan 6 2013, 04:26 PM

I think this voting system is perfect. And getting to pick 3 instead of 1 makes it even better :)

Posted by: Katja Jan 6 2013, 07:37 PM

These are wonderful updates! I voted for Alomomola, Cottonee, and Luvdisc-- I have no idea what's popular with other people, hahaha.

Posted by: Thunder Smash Jan 6 2013, 11:28 PM

I love the new voting system. Seems more efficient and organized than the other one. I'm thinking of voting for Tepig at least.

Posted by: Unluck Jan 7 2013, 05:15 PM

Wow thanks for the new system, its so much nicer!
Also hooray for Member status without having to post in the non gpxplus forums!!

I'm so excited for this month's SWSH!

I prefer this voting system but am impatient to see the results of the votes. noes.gif

Posted by: Varda Jan 8 2013, 06:51 PM

I was really lazy and picked the first pets I saw and think I would like a shiny of. I would really like to the results though, I'm so impatient XD

I was happy that I could vote though, since I haven't been active in the forums that much, so I thought I might not clear that hurdle.

I just picked 3 pokemon that correspond to my initials.

Posted by: timeerkat Jan 10 2013, 01:16 PM

i love love how the voting is set up this time around! looking forward to who all makes it through to the next round.

also...yay for member status! though i kind of miss my newbie banner. cat.gif

Posted by: Johnny Nny C Jan 10 2013, 07:40 PM

Hmm, I haven't had the chance to participate in one of these before so, considering this is my first one.. I'm very excited to see how well I do! The secrecy of it also makes it very exciting to see which pokemon come out the victors of the hunt.~

Hm... only problem with the current voting method is there's no way to preload the shelter. When I know what I'm going to be hunting, I start breeding that creature a day early and release all the eggs. That way there's more of them in the shelter when the hunt actually starts. I'm sure I'm not the only one who does it either.

Of course there is. The voting ends tomorrow, the 12th, at 11:55 PM EST, at which point we'll know (or soon thereafter) the winners. You can then start breeding and releasing eggs for when the hunt starts on the 13th at 11:55 PM EST.

Ah, teach me not to double-check the front page. The vote panel in the shine hunter says, "You may change your vote at any time before the hunt is opened, on 2013-01-12 at Reset (11:55 PM server time)." Saw that when I was considering changing one of my votes today, and it sounds like the hunt will start immediately after the vote closes.

Posted by: Big Bidoof Jan 11 2013, 07:07 PM

Nope! I specifically allowed a day for sign-ups before it starts so people can change daycare pairs, get Dex data if necessary, and so on, yup yup.

Will we be given stats on how many votes each of the winners/runners up got after the voting period ends?

I'm fine to see peoples votes not be skewed based on what they think other people want, but after voting is done it'd be interesting info.

Posted by: margo Jan 12 2013, 04:20 PM

Yeah, me too happy.gif I doubt any of the Pokémon I voted for will make it through, but I definitely hope at least one of the three Pokémon we'll be hunting will be one I don't have the shiny form of yet.

Posted by: Klaine Jan 13 2013, 12:30 AM

So...

absol.gif or mareep.gif or charmander.gif

Going for Mareep; the others aren't quite as appealing to me. happy.gif

Posted by: Amberfunk Jan 13 2013, 12:34 AM

Mareep first since I need it and ampharos for my purple shinies and then onto charmander since I need all three evolutions for shiny starters.

Posted by: Jen Jan 13 2013, 12:37 AM

Absol is the only one I don't have the shiny of, so signed up for that one. Just need one more Mareep and one more Charmander to complete their lines and that'll be all for me this shiny hunt. Not too bad. ^_^.gif

Posted by: pumpkinking0192 Jan 13 2013, 12:37 AM

I've been specifically avoiding hunting shiny starters since we've started voting for SWSHs, since I figure they're among the most predictably likely to win, but I happened to grab a random shiny Charmander during the Dreidel event. Oh well, so much for that plan. I'll start with Mareep, then.

Posted by: votehim Jan 13 2013, 12:38 AM

ooh, i like all of these shinies, going for absol first.

Posted by: Unluck Jan 13 2013, 12:39 AM

Oh cool, I like all three of these and I don't have any of them.
I guess I'll go for Mareep first since it's an achievement!

Posted by: dreamenddischarger Jan 13 2013, 12:40 AM

Got an Absol, the whole charmander line and mareep so I guess I'll just go for Flaaffy and Ampharos P:

Posted by: Gothic Togekiss Jan 13 2013, 12:41 AM

Sweet, two of the three choices I voted have made it. Going for Mareep first since I need it for the achievement.

Posted by: Ratt Jan 13 2013, 12:44 AM

None of the ones that I voted for, but I still like all of them! I'm going for mareeep<3

Posted by: Spirit of Auron Jan 13 2013, 12:47 AM

Going for Mareep myself, and if I have a successful hunt of that one, I'll move onto absol since I have one charmander already and am not doing duplicates till I have a good deal more of the pokedex as shiny.

Posted by: Lodrelhai Jan 13 2013, 12:50 AM

Yay, one of the ones I voted for made it!

Question: I know once the hunt starts breeders of those species will breed more often and only produce eggs of their own type.

But what happens if you're breeding two shiny hunt species together? Mareep's both Ground and Monster egg group, so it could breed with either Charmander or Absol...

Posted by: Sofia Jan 13 2013, 12:52 AM

I'm not surprised Mareep is one of them, what with the new achievement for getting a shiny Mareep. It's almost as if the programmers put that achievement in there to influence the SWSH.

None of my three (Tentacool, Joltik, and Ferroseed) made it in. Unfortunately, I also have shinies of Absol and Charizard. So that means I'll only be hunting Mareep this month :c

Also, the vote totals are here: http://gpxplus.net/swsh/jan-2013

My three votes came in at #191, #20, and #181... so not even close

Posted by: Vibrancy Jan 13 2013, 12:54 AM

Damn, have two of the three already. XD JUST finished my Mareep hunt, so not doing that again, but I've wanted another Charmander, and I don't have Absol yet!

I'm happy with the results. c:

I have a question about the hunt, I might sound a bit like a noob when I say this but I haven't entered a site-wide shiny hunt before so bleh.

Anyway, when I was entering, I could only select one pokemon to enter with (Which was Charmander). I already own two Mareeps (Both Male & Female) and I also have Dittos, so why couldn't I enter for Mareep? Is it that I have to have both genders of the last evolution?

~Thanks

I guess I'm going to hunt Charmander first 'cause its egg design are familiar to me and will be easy to spot on the Shelter, as compared to the other two in which I still have to familiarize their egg designs to avoid being Ninja'd (don't know if that's the term) in the Shelter, lol.

If I still have time, I'm going to hunt for the other two. cat.gif

You don't have Mareep's or Absol's egg data. It doesn't matter whether or not you currently own any members of each species.

EDIT: Ninja'd by taking the time to check the user's Pokedex.

Plus it'll help those that are going for that Achievement. Smart people! happy.gif

Posted by: Vibrancy Jan 13 2013, 01:15 AM

I voted for Abra, Tirtouga, and Slowpoke. #4, #203, and #104, respectively. I'm really surprised Abra got up so high! Now I'm curious if people really wanted it, or they were just lazy like me and went I DON'T WANT TO SCROLL THROUGH ALL THIS-- oh Abra's shiny is nice. XD

Posted by: votehim Jan 13 2013, 01:31 AM

for the past 20 minutes I've been furiously hatching absol eggs and clicking, then i realized it starts at rest the 13th, not reset the 12 *headesk* i'm going to bed

Posted by: Vesus Levide Jan 13 2013, 01:35 AM

Voted for Tyrogue (53), Rotom (42) and Castform (136) because of the many possibilities coming with them. A little surprised about the result, I have Charmander and am hunting Mareep already, so I'll hunt Absol (at least at first).

Posted by: Mysticman89 Jan 13 2013, 01:36 AM

My votes were tyrogue, axew, poliwag. Axew almost made it (as usual...), and the other two still need more love before they stand too much chance.

I don't have any of these shinies yet, so started with absol simply because it was first in the list - hopefully I'll get all 3. Mareep is one of extremely few shinies I randomly caught in my copy of silver (the original one), so it'll be nice to get the gpx+ version too.

Posted by: Karofsky Jan 13 2013, 01:40 AM

Guess this hunt isn't really on my side. I have all the Charmander line and an Absol, so Mareep's the only one I'll be interested in.

I voted for Spiritomb, Spearow, and Venipede; which came in #76, #193, and #54.

Anyway, good luck to everyone and may the race begin! Well... let it begin once the race actually starts.

Posted by: margo Jan 13 2013, 02:12 AM

Darn it, I've already got all of them sad.gif I guess I might hunt for Charmander, though, as I hatched that one randomly some time (during a Pokéhunt, I think?) so this might be an IV-hunt of sorts in a shiny hunt. And my shiny Mareep doesn't have very high IVs, so I might hunt that one afterwards.

Posted by: Like a spiral Jan 13 2013, 02:22 AM

Nice choices. My votes were Magikarp (#10), Zubat (#18), and if I'm not mistaken, Togepi (#37). So close!

Posted by: Jaidreigon Jan 13 2013, 02:27 AM

#17 Deino #24 Bagon #32 Larvitar for me...not close enough..

Posted by: Elexia Jan 13 2013, 02:30 AM

Hmm....I actually have none of them, so I'll be starting off with Mareep first (YAY sheep!)
I voted for Magikarp, Stunfisk, and Corsola, which were #10, #117, and #22 respectively.
I wish everyone good luck and happy hunting once it begins! cat.gif

Posted by: KiD MiCro Jan 13 2013, 02:39 AM

Already have Absol and two shiny Charmanders (well, one is Charizard now), so starting with Mareep. If I manage to get this one in a decent amount of time, then I'll maybe try for another Mareep or Charmander to finish out the line.

Posted by: Silberchen Jan 13 2013, 03:47 AM

Ack, I already have a Mareep hunt going on. Well, I can always start out with Absol and then try for a female Charmander.

My thoughts exactly!

Yeah, Magikarp was my first vote, along with Absol and Swablu (#40). So not too shabby!

But I think I'm going to start hoarding my credits, and first weekend of a hunt that includes Magikarp I'm putting every single one into Hatch+.

Posted by: Vande Jan 13 2013, 03:52 AM

Going with Charmander, not keen on Absol's shiny and I have x2 shiny sheep already.

Posted by: Jade Jan 13 2013, 04:33 AM

Ffff third SWSH that I have all shinies for.
Bah, okay Mareep I'll get your evolution I guess

But I can proudly say I didn't do too bad in the voting. Lileep got 5 votes (YAY) putting her at place 233, Voltorb was 91st on the list and Joltik was 20th!

Posted by: JonnySH Jan 13 2013, 06:05 AM

Well I want a pokemon that can evolve so that rules out absol, and charmander will take me ages to get a female for breeding... So i'm going mareep :P

Posted by: Jim Hawkins Jan 13 2013, 06:37 AM

1 of 8 to choose Solrock
1 of 22 to choose Stunfisk
1 of 13 to choose Spoink

Well Axew was in 6th... I should have voted for it. Oh well. Maybe next SWSH. I'm quite surprised Larvesta was decently high on the rankings at #34.

I'm a little disappointed with the hunting options, mostly because I despise all of them and that I have shinies of all of them. I guess I could go for Mareep seeing as I only have one of those. Maybe something I don't have will appear next SWSH

Posted by: Erwan Jan 13 2013, 06:39 AM

Already have 3 Shiny Charmanders and 1 Shiny Mareep, let's go for Absol.

Posted by: Tyranisaur Jan 13 2013, 07:08 AM

Meh, I already have all these shines. But what I can do is to hunt charmander all the way, and do a shiny char clone hunt along the way. I guess this works out pretty well.

Posted by: AllTheCoolNamesAreTaken Jan 13 2013, 07:17 AM

Can't complain, I voted Charmander. And my other two votes, Axew and Aron, came 6 & 7.

Probably hunt Mareep first though.

Posted by: purple umbreon Jan 13 2013, 07:33 AM

I like these pokemon. I already have a shiny charizard but I can still try to get shiny absol and shiny mareep.
Of course I'm doing the pink sheep first. cat.gif

I voted for Woobat, Gligar and Voltorb, but I almost voted for Absol, so maybe I'll hunt Absol. I can't decide!

Posted by: North Star Jan 13 2013, 08:08 AM

I was already hunting Charmander and Mareep pinch.gif so I cancelled the latter and signed up for the SWSH. If a get a shiny sheep I'll try with Absol.

And let's see how my picks did... Stunfisk #117, Golett #110, Sigilyph #102.

Posted by: Manah Jan 13 2013, 08:13 AM

Voted for Phione (159), Rotom (42), and Tyrogue (53).

I only need Absol, two Charmander and a Mareep, btu at least the Mareep needs to be female. happy.gif

Posted by: Indoor Survival Jan 13 2013, 08:41 AM

I already have Charmander and Mareep. Absol's my only choice. :/ Maybe next time I'll finally get to hunt more than one Pokemon. At least there was one pokemon I didn't have the shiny for, though.

I'll be going for Absol. I wanted to hunt it some time before, but never got to it, so this is good. ^^

One of my votes that did best was...

Aerodactyl (#11)

Swablu ended up on #40, and Poliwag got to place #65. ^^;

Ah well, better luck next time, and these are some really nice shinies that we'll be hunting!

Good luck starting tomorrow, everyone!

Already have a Charmander, so if I get Mareep I'll go for Absol next.

Oh well, I'm not really surprised that none of my votes got in. xD I voted for Aron (#7 - not bad, though), Happiny (#145) and Alomomola (#100).

I signed up for Absol. =) If there's time left I'll go for the others as well, I still need Flaaffy and Charmeleon to complete their shiny lines ...

I had voted for Psyduck (#67), Shieldon (#242), and Munchlax (#139) to get some blue shinies that I didn't have yet.

Not really wild about the choices, since I have 2/3 of Char's line done and have been hunting Mareep until I got one earlier, and I don't really care for Absol's shiny. Anyways, I'll do Absol first to get a shiny of it, then maybe two Mareeps and a Charmander. After that, I'll most likely focus on my other loooooong hunts...

lol. Not at all. The person who came up with that achievement didn't vote for any of the three hunt pokemons, actually.

The closest pokemon I voted for was Axew. Vullaby and Frillish barely made the list. haha.

I already have all three shinies this time. I'll probably just try for one complete hunt and not bother hunting as many as I can this time.

Aerodactyl was the highest I voted for, followed by Chikorita and then Numel, which didn't seem so very popular haha.

I'm already on a Charmander hunt and I have a Mareep, so I'm gonna go for Absol I guess. happy.gif

More people voted for Golett this time than any other month! :D

Bleh, none of the Pokemon I voted for got chosen and none of the ones that were are Pokemon I like. Oh well, I guess I'll go for Mareep due to the achievement.

Posted by: Rai Shado Jan 13 2013, 10:35 PM

Looks like a lot of people are going to be unlocking the mareep achievement.

Posted by: Thunder Smash Jan 13 2013, 11:58 PM

I already have a Shiny Mareep, so I'm going to choose Charmander. If I finish the Charmander hunt (which I highly doubt), I'll go for Absol.

Posted by: Ratt Jan 14 2013, 12:00 AM

I completely forgot about the achievement; I just want my cotton candy lamb haha.

Good luck to everyone!

Um, so... I'm pretty confused. When exactly was the hunt supposed to have begun? Did it begin yesterday at 11:55pm, or today at 11:55pm EST?

I ask because I suspect I now have the misfortune of having hatched a Shiny Charmander in one egg only to have it not count for the hunt (or the one egg achievement).

The set up of "revealed on a reset" and "sign up on a reset" is really confusing with the reset so close to midnight, almost at the other day already!

Posted by: Amberfunk Jan 14 2013, 12:15 AM

Yesterday reset which would be five minutes before today.

I love how busy the first few hours (or really, days) of SWSHs are, with lots of people trying to get on the fastest list. And Flame Power Plus does wonders to speed things up as well.

I'd say today is a mighty fine day to get some pass orbs kamina.gif

66 eggs, wow... fastest one yet, so close to the under 50 mark... and even though I didn't get either of them, within less than 200 eggs, my breeding pair has produced two shinies. Keep those eggs a'comin Autumn Tropius and Ampharos!

Your shine recorder shows you've hatched 75 eggs toward this hunt. Are you looking at the wrong place? The thing that says "Total eggs: 0" will be filled in after the hunt ends, iirc.

Welp, I did my duty to Wulfenite. Best of luck to the rest still looking.

I decided to only start Mareep since, well, I'll need one eventually anyways. But I really need to get back to my 6 other shiny hunts, they're really clogging up my shine recorder.

Posted by: Killer Zylos Wolf Jan 15 2013, 09:47 AM

84 eggs and got Shiny Mareep, as such I'll get at least 55 prize points because of this hunt thanks to the Achievement. Maybe Azurite can finally win this for once...

I've been looking for the statistics of this hunt and so far, I haven't found any. Could someone post a link or tell me where to find them? Nah, i had hatched 80 before i realized the issue. It did not go through the first time. I had regi'd on the day before the hunt started. I went to go check it and realized it was still there with the selection of pokemon.

330 eggs. I'm smelling a trend starting, and I don't like it one bit.

I fail to see how this is mocking when the entire thread is about finding a shiny in a limited amount of time. Kudos for knowledge for continuing on such a long hunt. I know that feeling all too well.

Read the one post I made further up the page. His post is nearly an exact duplicate. It felt like he was trying to mockingly tell me that some people are worse off in this hunt than I am and that I have no right to complain. But I wasn't complaining, just pointing out that I've got a long hunt.

But if this wasn't his intent, I deeply apologize.

Oh, again, my bad. xP

557 eggs here now. Man, I want to finish this so I can hunt Blitzle already!

Posted by: Wraenna Jan 23 2013, 06:01 PM

I've finished my first hunt at 123 eggs. (Did so several days ago.) Hunting Absol now. Good luck to the Malachites, but especially to the Azurites who are putting up a tremendous fight this time around.

(I don't think I need to say that I'll be slapping warnings on people starting pissing contests in here. Knock it off.)

OMG, woohoo!

I finally got my shiny Mareep! A long 593 eggs total. I thought I was going to fail this one. What a relief!

Also, my second lab shiny. happy.gif

I have my pink cotton already, I am now going for absol, though my hunt has already taken a while too

Posted by: Kelleo Jan 24 2013, 12:44 PM

Ah, thanks. happy.gif

I'm not going to hunt Absol or Charmander. I don't like them enough to hunt them for a SWSH. I'm not a big fan of Mareep either, but it's better than the other two, imo, plus that one achievement. Not to mention that I had only succeeded in 1 out of 3 SWSHs so far, so yeah. Now I'm 2 and 2. :P

But completing SWSH's helps winning the race for your entire team, since you'll add up to the score

Yeah, but there's only seven days left, and with my rate of hatching eggs, I'm not likely to get another SWSH Pokemon in time. xP

You can set ist so that your SWSH hunt automatically ends when the SWSH ends and you never know.

That's true too, but I've really wanted to hunt some other Pokemon more than Charmander and Absol right now too. I had said earlier that I wanted to hunt Blitzle next, for example. I just decided to use a couple fossils and summoning items I had first to get some Pokemon I hadn't gotten yet. And get the achievement for getting all fossil Pokemon.

Posted by: Daisy14 Jan 24 2013, 04:21 PM

yeah I still no luck for shiny mareep yet.. right now is #167 so far and I hope what look like for voucher egg after end SWSH as well.. I see that Wulfentie still leading... that nice. I hope get shiny mareep soon... happy.gif

Yes but since its only such a short time you can postpone doing those things, and you do have six slots in your party.

Posted by: Kelleo Jan 24 2013, 04:58 PM

Actually, Daisy, Malachite is winning. As usual...

Yeah, but if I empty my party, I can hatch six eggs at a time instead of just two or three.

groenii, if Kelleo doesn't want to do another hunt don't make it seem like she has to. It's her decision, and if she doesn't want to start another hunt that's it. That goes for everyone else, too; if someone says they don't want to do something completely optional because they don't feel like it, drop it.

Anyway, looks like Malachite's doing pretty well. Hopefully we can snag the win this time, although the Azurites have been putting up a very good fight.

No way, you Malachites almost always win! And Azurite hasn't even won once. noes.gif

I would hunt again to help Azurite, but I don't think I can hatch fast enough to get another shiny.

Thats the beauty of SWSHs, you never know when you'll hatch a shiny wink.gif

Now onto Mareep. Thank you so much for breeding him, bakultimate. This boy got me number one at most eggs hatched.

Both today, in half an hour. I have never completed a shiny hunt before, so this is definitely my luckiest day on GPX+ ever. Plus, I got 5 new shiny (literally grin.gif) achievements.

Sooo many thirteens! XD I'm just happy that I won, since it's only my second hunt that I've won (the first was with Shiny Bidoof).
