Today marks 5 years since GPX+ first opened up to the public.

Those who have been here since the beginning have seen the site change in so many ways; in fact, most of those people helped mold the site into what it is today, due to us trying to adapt new features to how people were playing. Even if you didn't directly post a suggestion, you may have indirectly caused the site to change.

From all of us on staff, thank you to every user who helped turn this site into what it is today. To everyone on staff, or anyone who was previously staff, we admins thank you for your service, no matter how small your contribution.

To celebrate this incredibly special milestone, we are again having our Plus trio. Not only that, but we're finally giving you your first taste of Generation 6!

Thanks to Wymsy and our talented group of spriters, a handful of Mega Evolutions are now available. You must first purchase the Mega Ring account upgrade from the shop. Today only, you will receive one free Mega Stone upon purchasing the Mega Ring. The stone you receive will be a random one from the batch that's currently available. There are currently no other ways to obtain a Mega Stone, so I urge you to purchase your Mega Ring today and let any friends know who may currently be inactive. At some point in the coming weeks, there will be a way for each of you to obtain all of the available Mega Stones, but not quite yet.

We're not going to tell you which Mega Evolutions are available just yet, although a search through your Dex will easily help those most curious quickly catalog them for others. You are also likely to see them pop up in users' parties, so keep your eyes open!

Any Mega Stones you eventually receive are yours to keep forever; when you Mega Evolve a Pokémon, they are not used up like a typical evolution stone. Because of that, you can only ever have one of each Mega Stone, and you cannot sell them either.

Once reset comes again (February 14th at 11:55PM EST), purchasing a Mega Ring will no longer award you a free Mega Stone. Those who miss out will have to wait until the method for receiving Mega Stones is released.

As we promised you back in December, we are hard at work trying to get Generation 6 available here on GPX+, so we really hope you appreciate this first small sampling!

I hope you all are able to enjoy the day as well, even if you aren't spending it with a special someone. I got Charizardite Y. My favorite of the two megas for him. I'm so ready for gen 6 to happen. I want shiny chespin, spritzee, and hawlucha right away! haha

I got Blazikenite. Shame I didn't get Manectite or Absolite because I have shinies of both of those guys. (and because I sprited them both)
Having a mega Blaziken in the meantime will be neat though!

Wow! I can't believe it's been 5 years already! Almost my 5 year anniversary for the site too~ (just got to wait a little while longer xD). I may of been away on hiatus for a few there in the middle, but I'm so happy I made it back, and I love this site more than ever. I've missed this all so much and wish I was around and involved more to help the site grow in anyway it can. But its been an amazing run and I look forward to so much more that the future has in store for us here. <3

I got Venasaurite, but can't seem to mega evolve my Venasaur? Is this a bug?

Also, as a suggestion: Making the cloned starter novelties mega evolve? I mean, if they were exact clones, minus the skin difference, they should be able to mega evolve too, no?

Non-canon Megas shouldn't be a thing, in my opinion.

Edit: Look at your Dex to find all of the Mega Evolution requirements for a given Pokémon

Yes, there are shiny megas.


Also worth noting is that you will eventually be able to change your megas back to their regular form. It will be a standard 5-day wait (on top of the current requirements), but it's not currently enabled.

Quick question... What happens if we release a Mega? Does it revert? Because I'm feeling generous enough to say, raise a bunch of Mega Blaziken and unleash them upon the Safari Zone at completely random and unannounced times.

yes, yes they do. I've been looking at other people's parties and ive seen a bunch of shiny Megas, so yeah, they work. great job on all that as well!

They will work on shinies, just as they do in the games. However, not all Mega shiny palettes are the same as their non-Mega shiny forms. For example, regular Shiny Gardevoir is blue with a pale pink dress, but Shiny Mega Gardevoir is blue with a black dress.

To reassure you, Mega Charizard Y, coincidentally, is the same colors as regular Charizard: normally orange, but black when Shiny.

Seems like mega Mawile has a total of 480 in base stats, that's what the dex says. That seems like a bug, especially considering that Mawile has 600.

Also, it seems like the evolved pokemon that got mega evolutions are now part of the bugged egg glitch. So it would seem like Venusaur, Charizard, Blastoise, Ampharos, Blaziken, Manectric and Garchomp can now be bred as eggs by Professor Cypress, along with the other 15.

Happy Anniversary, GPX! I simply adore this site and am so glad to be back on it. I missed the release date of this announcement but at least it got me to the Shop today (one day late) and I have the upgrade. Now to wait for determining when and how to get a Mega Stone in the future. *happy face inserted here*

I can't wait to go and find some Gen 6 Pokemon now, too. Very exciting! Very exciting indeed!

I've seen some ads on GPX for other Pokemon collecting websites but they all pale in comparison. GPX is Pokemon, in my world.

OMG! I read it wrong! I actually got the Mega Stone! I saw the original post dated yesterday so I didn't even think about it and thought it meant last night's reset into today would mean I was out of luck.

I just found my Mega Stone. OMG! My favorite Pokemon, too! Well, one of them at least. Pika, I suppose, would be my favorite. But is right up there with him.

hm, I got a mega stona, I have a pokemon corresponding to the stone, sent it to pokewalker. I got the evolution stone needed for the mega evolution, happiness is full as well, but still I seee no option to megaevlolve it...am I missing out on something still???

Ohh i wasn't sure what the mega evolutions were going to be like but i think i'm glad it isn't an exploration to evolve one pokemon (like the stones might be an exploration thing, we don't know yet but that'd be cool still)

+I'm not sure if it has been pointed out yet but the mega evolution's tiny images for the pokedex are still not up (just like the Keldeo egg) and the pokedex entries of mega evolutions don't show the "evolves from" thing.

Got Manectite. Not bad, since I got a shiny little gal to use it on... But kinda disappointed because it's the worst looking mega form in this generation. And tbh I thought it counts more of a form change not an evolution... Information that it's irreversible was kinda a shock to me. Well, good thing Zerxer explained reverting's not yet implemented.

Question: In game megas have higher stats than their base form. Will they have boost here in battle tower as well?

I noticed on the pokemon counts ranking that there are exactly zero mega garchomps.
Is is because the mega stone is not being distributed yet, nobody has been lucky enough to get it, or he needs some specific conditions to evolve?

I think it has to do with the evolution requirements for that one. It was mentioned that it needs the weather to be sandstorm if I remember correctly.

Today has been a great day, for me and for everyone on here, I'm sure. Even though I joined not too long ago, I've made great progress, and it was all thanks to you. Well guys, we made it.

It wasn't the easiest journey, but when GPX set out with its very first Pokemon that day from Pallet Town......who knew it would get this far?

I may have only been here a few months myself, but I am so glad I managed to be a part of the GPX community. Seriously guys, it's been a wicked few months, and I hope it'll be a wicked many years to come as well.

With the Mega Ring, i got Aerodactilite(sorry if it's not this way written)... now i am wondering,,,

How do we collect the rest of the Mega-Stones? and which pokemons already have Mega-forms? i heard not all have it yet! =D

The other mega stones will be available in the future; just stay tuned and more detailed will be given about them. You can only obtain one right now.

As for figuring out which Pokemon have Mega Forms, go to your Pokedex and make sure that "Unobtained" is checked. You'll see the ones you don't have this way.

As of right now, they do not revert. I have been unleashing Mega Blazikens upon the masses at random times. I just wish more people re-released them to spread the wealth, or wouldn't take more than one.

Probably not, or at least definitely not in the foreseeable future. Our priority is canon Pokemon and forms. We don't take suggestions for novelties/fan-made stuff, anyway, so if there are non-canon Megas they'll probably be conceptualized by the staff.

Basically, we are mega evolving multiple pokemon (costing us items such as Magmarizers and leaf stones and etc) and selflessly releasing them at random and hoping people who don't have that pokemon yet gets it for their pokedex.

And we also hope the people who get them will also eventually release them into the shelter, because that way even more people can complete their pokedex... (but no one who has grabbed any of my Mega Blazikens have done so yet... and some are so selfish that they take more than one...)

Awww, I hate I missed out on this...I was taking a break from GPX+...my hiatus lasted a bit longer than usual since my dad's been going through a few problems of his own right now(I've been taking care of his for the past 5-6 years now)...

Is there anyway I can get a hold of a Mega Stone now or do I have to wait for the next one to be released? I already have the mega ring from the shop just so you guys know...

Currently there is no way to obtain a Mega Stone of any sort, outside of purchasing the Mega Ring on the day it was released. You may, however, be lucky enough to nab some megas in the Safari Zone. I've been able to get Mawile, Blastoise, Aerodactyl, and Venusaur from the Shelter.

(Edit: However, I just noticed by changing my signature that the small icon for Mega Manectric is not showing in the party. I don't know if it's like that for all Megas, but anyway~)

Simply put, the sprites aren't done yet. We've been making major progress over the past month, though, so hopefully they'll be out soon!

I feel very proud and honored to be apart of this community as long as I have, I've been a member of this community since 2009 and I still continue to use it every day. I still remember my first time here, it was so different and there were just (I am not completely sure) Gen 1-4 on here. I will always continue to support this community and the staff who lead it. I hope to see GEN 6 very soon and I can't wait to celebrate 10 years.

We have the icons, they're just not up on the site for some reason. They'll probably (hopefully) be fixed when the rest of Gen 6 goes up.

Nope, you only got the mega stone if you bought it on release day. The ways to get other Mega Stones haven't been released as of yet.
