So basically, how do you buy your cards?
I buy everything except individual packs, there is no fun in buying them like that.
Ive bought 6 tins, close to 10 value packs, an arceus premium box, and the platinum collection box so far.
What have YOU bought?
tins free boxes to keep my cards
When I used to buy cards, I bought them in thin little packages at 7-11 'till I got a respectable collection.
Anyway I can. =P I just buy whatever I get a good vibe from or if I see a card in one of those promo things with a good card, I get it.
How I got my new Lucario, Arceus and Charizard Ex. *Sniff* I love them. 8D
...My mother's Lopunny army though.. ugh.. and her damn grass Pokemon. She nuts for them.. Curse former Gym leaders!!
Over ten years and she still kicks my ass
I actually,buy tin Box for 2 Reasons:Legendairy Pokemon and Level.X Card.
I bought one pack ever back when I collected them. I traded up for the rest, and I think I ended up with some 30,000 cards. I still have them in a box and a few binders near my desk.
I usually buy a booster box (36 packs) when a new set comes out, then buy a value pack or two depending on the promos. I also tend to buy individual packs a lot as well.
I buy them however I can, ah ha ha. Though since I usually only buy/trade for battling purposes, I'm able to get some really good stuff from my friend, who collects them obsessively.
He has, I think, all of the pre-EX sets completed, and is missing anywhere from one to eight cards in each set after. Scary. ;_; His buying strategy is the same as mine, though he tends to keep an eye out for out-of-print stock that is periodically thrown onto shelves for quick purchases.
It really depends on what I'm needing.
I like buying tins because I like the tins. I store things in them and they just look nice in with my collection. Not to mention getting a LvlX card is quite handy now days.
I tend to buy Blister's a lot when I'm just buying cards though. It's just a better deal.
At the local tourney we however, have single cards for sale. I tend to go and get a ton of singles when I go just for collcetion and for when people buy things off me. It's also really handy for building a deck.
If a pokemon I collect is on the front of a Starter Pack I'll buy it though. Only reason I bought the Cutting Edge deck was for the box and Gallade GL Holo.
I havent purchased a single card since the Rising Rivals set (My last pack contained a Flygon Lv. X, which I sold for $50).
Afterward I went on hiatus, and only recently started collecting Primes and Legends, trading only
You really need to put all of the above as an option. I purchase my cards in all of those ways. Gotta get my fix, after all. And better yet, my parents pay for them! In fact, when I help my mom at auctions, that's usually how I get paid: Pokémon cards.
I bought them in tins, individual packs, and value packs. I don't buy 'em often anymore.
At first i stole packs from a store. However, after guilt, and a fear of getting caught, i decided fto stop.
After that i only buy used cards, tins and value packs. Unless i get a normal pack very cheap.
People just gave them to me and I traded them for more cards 8D
But I've purchased my fare share of booster packs
Since I'm just getting back into the game, I'm buying cards up in a lot of different ways. I started off with theme Decks for energy and value packs (and some individuals) to see a bunch of the new cards in different sets. Now that I've investigated things and learned a bit more, I bought a booster box of Triumphant the other day to help me get some trading fodder (ha!) and build up a decent deck. I'll probably end up getting a box for the B&W release, too, unless I can make it to a prerelease.
Hi look AT MY POKEMON GROWING SO FUST
I buy the booster packs, mostly online as it's better value. I occasionally buy collectors boxes. I recently got the Mimikyu box with collectors pin, so cute
