I searched and I don't think a topic like this exists, so , in your opinion, what's the creepiest/scariest music you've ever heard in a game?
Mine is the castle music from Super Mario Bros.
That may be kinda lame, but I could not play any castle level without turning down the volume. It creeped me out so much. @_@
The scooby doo games when I played it I turned the voulume all the way down
Hmmm... Metroid Fusion had some creepy songs, like when SA-X appeared. Probably some of the music that creeped me out the most.
There might be others but I can't remember... I'll either edit this post or post again if I remember.
Ikana Valley - Legend of Zelda Majora's Mask
Shadow Temple- Zelda: The ocarina of time.
The song sent chills up my sine. @-@
"Beyond the Sea" in Bioshock. When your about to take the little submarine type thing into Rapture.
LOL I'm listening to the Silent Hill soundtrack right now, what a coincidence.
I love the Silent Hill soundtrack, it's so unsettling and makes you want to look behind you to make sure no one's there. (:
My vote goes to anything from Silent Hill. <3
Giygas battle music. Not the first one where you fight Porky/Pokey as well, but the 2nd one.
Its not really music but still...
i remember when eleventh hour linked the game to the music, i laughed myself silly when i piped it into the speakers at a food lion... you could tell who had played the game cause they got REAL Tense,,,

by far.
Silent Hill 5's 'Scarlet' ;;; In an epic way. And.. 'With Broken Notes, The Siren Begins' from Siren game O_O;; American McGee's Alice 'Dementia' is also kinda scary in a fairy tail way XD
Damn, I forgot. There was another song from Silent Hill 1. When the town started rusting up after Harry got out of the clock tower. That was scary too .__.;; I hope this isn't double posting...
The melody that comes up whenever an enemy is present in The Elder Scrolls IV:Oblivion, especially if im inside some old ruin and cant find the enemy...Gah,it scared me half to dead the first time around.
Remembered another one.
The X-Files theme in the game X-Files for PS2 if I remember correctly. That song creeps me out... AND IT PLAYS EACH TIME YOU'RE IN THE PAUSE MENU. @_@
I just found my creepiest song ever.... And I'm listening to it right nooooow... It's like someone's behind me each time I hear this song.
I guess in this custom made I think halo stage. They remade dead space where you cant see anything. So creepy.
Whaaaat?! No one has mentioned Fatal Frame series yet? Pick any game and any song. F'ing scary. O.O(Well except Fatal Frame 2's save music.)
I'm not sure if any of you have heard of the PC RPG Dungeon Lords, but...
The "tune" that plays in the town of Fargrove is creepy... It sounds like a bunch of discordant clangs and such. Brrrr.... I have a tendency to jump a little whenever I've been playing that for awhile and my parents call me. Especially if I'm playing a dungeon area. An example of a typical exchange:
Mom or Dad: *tells me it's time to go to bed*
Me:
Mom or Dad: What's wrong?
Me: You startled me! I must have been playing this for too long...
The music when you're fighting or near an enemy in LoZ: The Windwaker. Combined with the dust devil's calls, really creepy. And the Old Chateau in pokemon, sorta.
Shadow Temple- LOZ: Ocarina of Time
Stone Tower (inverted) - LOZ: Majora's Mask << creepy but one of my favorite tracks from both series.
It will always be "the Bottom of the Well" music for me. I never got past that dungeon cuz the redeads kept scaring me.
The Witch encounter music from Left4Dead, EASILY.
Combined with the sound of her crying, it just creates such an insanely tense and creepy atmosphere. XvX
EDIT: Tell me http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4kwp_UDSuBo&feature=related is not creepy.
OH GOD YES. THAT THING SCARES THE HELL OUTTA ME.
And I'm usually the one with the Auto Shotgun, meaning that I'M the one to kill her. Which means that I have to spot her, approach her slowly and fire like a madman. @-@
Fatal Frames music is frikken scary in a battle..
The Cave of the Past (in the past), and the final battle with Giygas in his true form, both from EarthBound. I've played it for years, but that music never stops being creepy. D:
Spider Queen's Extermination - Okami.
It's creepy because when you fight her it's silent except for a few windchimes and her groans, feels like something is going to pop up and attack you. ;~;
Not Tomorrow 2 from Silent Hill 1 found its way on my iPod.
It came on after Strawerry Fields forever, of all things. (It was in shuffle...)
Needless to say, I jumped into the ceiling.
Whut? No one's mentioned the Altering Cave music in Emerald? Well didn't think anyone would... seeing as no one bothers with that place anyway. But still, if you have time, fish out your old Emerald cartridge and listen to it. God, it's sooo creepy for a cave filled wit Zubat.
...Remembering the music is giving me the heebie jeebies. Altering Cave + 3:00 in the morning DO NOT mix.
Psycho mantis music in metal gear (PSX and gamecube). Seriously, when you reach a certain part (before the fight against him), you hear a song that is really creepy. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uqN6bizDbTM
<Tochiro>
The only music that ever got me the slightest bit unnerved was whatever music was playing in DMC , when the puppets just keep coming. I had my screen accidentally on dark, and I could only see when I shot the guns, so they popped up at random for me, with my only warning being that deep red opening on the floor. Playing alone, at like 3 AM, in a dark room...
Though I admit I haven't played Dead Space yet, I imagine that's pretty creepy.
I never did like the music in Lavender town on FR and LG. I dunno why. Otherwise, I have no clue. Don't hear much creepy music.
The canyon in Majoras mask, was always creepy to me
God I probably sound stupid and wimpy for saying this.......
On Animal Crossing City Folk if you go to the city like at 2:00 in the morning the music is creepy and it's weird no one's n the city and everythings dark......It creeps me out....

The mansion in the resident evil 2 game for game cube, when the zombies got closer. I literally couldn't play the game I was so terrified. I'm such a baby.
One winged angel. Nuff said.
Hm... definately this one, if you're looking for lolita-creepy.
Title: "Third Eye"
Series: Touhou Project's
Game: Subterranean Animism.
Stage: 4
Character: Satori Komeiji
this scariest music for the scariest boss
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DSpJA0H_uo0
Just about all of the Yume Nikki soundtrack.
Nthing the Giygas battle music. Also, there's the http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WRm5j0ER-nU from Mother 3.
I vote for most Zelda songs, lol. Not sure how they do it but sometimes I need to look behind me to make sure nobody is there. XD
Nightmare Reflected in the Mirror from Tales of Vesperia.
Oh man did it freak me out the first time I went through that ghost ship. XD
Now it doesn't bother me so much.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uG66WJpLEyE
I ran through this place at 2 am. XD;;
edit: OKAY THE ARRANGED VERSION OF GHOST ADVENT FROM DISGAEA IS ADDED TO THAT. .___. -hides-
deffo bottom of the well/shadow temple from Loz:oot and ikana music in Loz:mm
Oh ya i am changing my answer to Left 4 dead.
The witches are hot......in a zombish way...I jsut wonder why it is only wearing a Bikini when its roaming. I mean, what it hates clothing?
And the tank theme has a right to be scary.
The tanks are ridiculously strong and hard to beat whne alone. Good luck in small area's,Solo peeps.
I've not even played Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask, but the Song of Healing played backwards is really creepy. http://inuscreepystuff.blogspot.com/2010/09/majora.html a link to a page that has several embedded YouTube videos with the reversed SoH playing in a few of them. I know it's a creepypasta, but just bear with me here. Not much scares me in games, but this gave me goosebumps at a few parts. *shiver*
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mTiLBXsFRW4
Then again This really doesn't sound like music, just random tunes with no relation to each other
Play Minecraft, go cave exploring, hear those GODDAMN CAVE SOUNDS, shit brix, never go down there again.
Halo 3, the music that plays when the Flood appear.
AAAAAGH! GETITOFFME GETITOFF GETITOFF! Aghh......ROAR! (it's not the music, but when you play the game, it adds the scare in it.)
ME: O.O
Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ChGa8k1YfOI
*shudders at the heartbeat in it*
Half Life 1.
Because there was little to no music making crawling through those vents even creepier.
Termina Bay from Majora's Mask.
Lavender Tower in Pokemon R/B/Y.
I second the Termina Bay vote... *shudders*
http://forums.gtsplus.net/index.php?act=findpost&pid=0
Finally, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kn6RLuPEIZQ
Albedo's Theme is "creepy" in a fun way.
Definitely Lavendar Town in R/B/Y. I always turned the volume down there.
I would say the little sound track when Boomer is near in L4d. Freaks me out to look for a fat man @_@
Freaking anything from Silent Hill either makes me shiver or cry... I love it.
Termina Bay, Majora's Mask, is obligatory.
Resident Evil has some creepy stuff, as well as Dead Space 2 (got the soundtrack, yeah), and Condemned. Fuck, condemned just makes me shiver altogether. Just looking at pictures of it makes me scared.
River Twygz Bed. Creepy. As. SHIT.
Hoo boy, some people could go on for hours about these things...
I don't even know, but the one that comes to mind immediately is the Fire Temple music from LoZ: OoT for the N64... Listen to the song and think about it. :P
Also voting for Termina Bay and Pokemon Tower. Although Pokemon Tower isn't nearly as creepy. Probably the most creepy part is the one Channeler who says "Give... me... blood..."
Zant At Lakebed from Twilight Princess creeps me the hell out.
I don't know why but this song would activate on my brother's Yugioh 2010 World Championship whenever he was below like 1000 to 2000 life points. I get shudders just thinking about it.
Nuts to Lavender Town, Pokemon Tower. That stuff still haunts my DREAMS.
Even though the original track never bothered me that much, I have to say, Drought from Omega Ruby frightened me pretty badly. Just... eee... make the bad sounds stop...
Most tracks of Lament of Innocence's OST, now that I think back on it, are very creepy in game. It makes sense because it's Castlevania, but it's also chilling regardless because it's purely atmospheric music with not much melody.
Giygas.
There's a point in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YYb9kSCkjE8 where at about 2:30 it plays a really nice and peaceful piano theme but then at 3:00 it becomes nightmares incarnate.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2Pf_liZf5I8
never thought panting noises would be so frightening
I'm actually a little surprised that no one has mention the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=46bF5oFF1YI from Half Life 2. It's a simple tune, and only 40 seconds long, but it's really creepy and unnerving. Another song that I find to be really creepy is the https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hmsZyC0UXUU from Ocarina of Time. Something about the pacing and the instruments used really gives it a chilling and creepy vibe.
The music from the Shadow Temple in Ocarina of Time.
"So Cold" from Undertale is pretty spooky, imo.
"Drought" from both Ruby and Omega Ruby, in my opinion it is more scary than Lavender Town
