With the introduction of 13 new legendary Pokemon in Black and White, the total now stands at 47. Is this too many? Are legendary Pokemon losing thier value? Or is this a reasonable amount. After all, there are 649 Pokemon
And which game got it right with the amount of obtainable legendaries. Where the 5 in R/B/Y enough, or do you prefer having more options to add to your team. Does having all the legendary side-quests expand them game, or is it just a cheap way of filling up time?
For reference, below is a list of all legendary Pokemon avalible in each game. Those in italic are version exclusive, or require a Pokemon from another game to unlock. Those in bold are event exclusive or require a event Pokemon to unlock. Event Pokemon only include those with a in game event, not those downloaded directly, (exluding Gen V)
I love each and every Legendary and try my hardest to get each. Honestly, I don't think there's too many, as some of certain generations feel as if they should be in some other generations (Regigigas I see you). The ammount is high, but it makes me feel accomplished. I'm sure some people are not fond of event Pokemon (as am I) because there's like, no GameStop around or anything. For Pokemon without backstories, I think Nintendo's just trying to appeal to everyone; I sure as heck have Articuno, Zapdos, and Moltres at the bottom of my list in favor of most of the Sinnoh Pokemon. A lot people like Lati@s because they're adorable in their opinion, some prefer adorable Mew over Mewtwo's badass personality (and viseversa), etc. I think there's enough and am so ready for more IMO.
Legends are a cheap way of killing time for me, but it's kind of fun seeing something so different from other comon Pokemon.
Don't know where else I'm going with this. I've never gotten the roaming Pokemon in FireRed, but I kind of like the newer games where the Legends just...appear like Giratina or have places you can get to later on. Back to the event Pokemon- quit it Nintendo! U< Not all of us can just go to GameStop or ToysRUs!
i find it annoying that they are seen as "gods" they should just be mythical not all consuming
gen 1 was best
I do agree with Flamer here and say FR/LG.
I really don't like roamers but I do like the dogs, so yeah.
I think 47 is good out of 649. There's still 602 normal Pokemon, and when you get Legendaries, you get that proud kind-of feeling, you know? It's good. So yeah, in the end, I think there is a reasonable amount of Legendaries, and that each game had a good amount.
I think 3rd gen's my limit, though I hate event legendaries and don't tend to count them.
Meh. I'd say there's enough legendaries. I wouldn't think that there are too many; as SnivyCap said: There are 602 Regular Pokémon and 47 Legendaries. I wouldn't really say that's loads.
I have favorite legendaries from every single gen, my three favorites being from the second, third, and fifth gens respectively. Overall, I'm fine with more legendaries being introduced in the future as long as they're well-designed and not just there for the sake of being there (AND if they're kept in moderation, since until this gen they added higher amounts of legends per gen)
I think it`s a good rate because of all the other pokemon out there
I go with SnivyCap.Legends are like about 1/12 out of 649 pokemon
While I find many of the fifth and fourth generation legendaries likeable, I still felt that they went way over the top with making legendaries (especially gen 4). I feel that pokes like Mewtwo, Lugia, and Deoxys are much more interesting than Phione or the lazily designed genies of gen 5.
I like them all, though I think it peeked with Lugia.
Also, just as quick information, Australia got celebi through an event too when they were showing off Crystal. Apparently it never made news online but it was all showcased, and they gave out the celebi.
There r never too many legendaries.Don't u think it's fun trying to get all of them?
