Global PokédeX Plus Forums _ Pokémon Debates _ Pokemon in wrong region?

Posted by: KingAlan Jun 10 2012, 03:28 PM

What do you think of them putting Togepi, Marill, Slowking, Lugia, and Ho-oh in Kanto anime? And Manaphy, Buizel, Lucario, Bonsly, and Munchlax in Hoenn anime (Thoey also put Munchlax and Bonsly in XD, a Pokemon side-game in Hoenn)? And Zoroark and Zorua in Sinnoh anime? I think they should stop putting Pokemon from regions they havent even released yet, in newer generations. Now tell me, what do YOU think. And please, give a reason. For answers without a reason, just vote on the poll without replying.

I say: NO! I like surprises. Besides that, it spoils it for me. For me, putting a 2nd gen in gen 1 or a 5th gen in gen 4 is like playing Mario with Checker peices, or, for people looking for Pokemon examples, catching Sonic in a Pokeball, IT MAKES NO SENSE!!!

I think it depends on how its used if its eerie and mysterious its cool unlike zorua and zoruark

I do agree that Ho-oh's might have been too early (first episode!) but some are ok like togepi.

I... I don't really know why it wouldn't make sense! After all, Lucario was in the Hoenn region, it just gave us a foreshadowing of the next region. It's not like they're putting Zekrom in Kanto or releasing an entire gen of Pokemon into another region. After all, it's only a few Pokemon used to hook the viewer into watching the next season or episodes, and I don't see a problem with that.
It makes perfect sense to me, I'm not really sure what you mean by it not making sense...?
And, by the way, Bonsly was also introduced in Lucario and the Mystery of Mew I believe.
I guess I'm kind-of neutral..? I just don't really understand what's tripping you up, ha ha.

Ok. From now on, when you put your reason, put your poll vote. Because for some of you, i'm not sure wich side your on. For people who already posted, you're all right. But I would thank you if you edited it to say that.

Yeah... I think Ho-oh was a bit TOO early in the anime, but the rest I don't see a problem with. I'm agreeing with what Hexxy already said. Foreshadowing the region is a good idea to get people to watch more.

I actually think them putting Ho-oh in the beginning of Kanto was quite good. I was quite young when the Kanto anime was being shown, and although Togepi was in the anime, I though it was just a hidden extra, the thought of new Pokémon didn't even come to mind, so the sudden realisation that I still didn't know what the Pokémon at the beginning of the show was, was amazing! Suddenly the hope of more Pokémon came about!

It's the same with all previews really, it's that amazing feeling when suddenly you realise that there's going to be a whole bunch of new Pokémon to collect! The only thing I really am getting irritated with at the moment is the mass of new forms that seem to be coming out for the Unova legends. Keldeo's new form doesn't even look that different. It's as if Nintendo changed their mind about how they looked just a little too late.

I don't mind it. I liked that ho oh was in the first episode it made me wonder who the heck that pokemon was. It made me watch it more. I don't really see the big issue of it. happy.gif

I'm not sure why we /need/ to do that, I can clearly tell which side each of all the posters are on :I

As for me, I agree with Joltik, it just makes it that much more exciting knowing something else will be coming along in the future with little "surprises" like that.

Execution is everything. It's fine as long as it makes sense.

I don't see why it doesn't make sense...

It makes just as much sense as a swedish guy living in Norway; He comes from somewhere else, but still its nothing unnatural about it.

However, if i like it, depends. Like, i love how they put Ho-Oh in the first episode, it just adds to the mystery that is the Pokemon world. But others, like Munchlax i feel was kinda... Not needed.

they need to establish the new season somehow instead of running into & having the general audience have no idea what pokemon will be there. also it would waste time in new episodes having to introduce a bunch of new pokemon.
