Yeah, I would have to agree with the theory that Mimikyu became a Totem Pokemon just because it was so popular. Though I see why it was popular, it's a cute little bugger.
Speaking of buggers, I couldn't catch many Shinies over the weekend, but I did catch a male Shiny Cutiefly I named Liidae, who I evolved into Ribombee. I'll have to try again with Shiny Staryu at some later point though. Well, at least it's a lot easier now that I have a Shiny Charm. Also, last I checked, SiivaGunner's profile and YouTube banner is now completely black. I'm not sure if you heard of the channel, but they upload high quality rips with some lore in the background in the form of stuff like ARGs. And last time according to lore, Woodman sort of took over the channel, who is a virus. Is it possible that Woodman did something to the channel? That deeply concerns me as a memer. Possibly, but I doubt it unless if such cloth variations appear on the anime. And we can't exactly suggest it to the staff. Though the idea is making my inner pixel artist tingle, but I don't think PokeStadium has the Smogon sprites for the Gen VII Pokemon up yet. Which is a shame, because I do all of my editing on MSPaint and the black background transparent images give makes things hard to edit, and PokeStadium lets me use sprites that have a white background.
Also, I think I'm due for a profile picture change now. I'm torn between two Kermit the Frog memes, the "That's None Of My Business" one or the Dark Side Kermit one. I'm also looking at doing an Incineroar profile picture like I initially planned to do after the games came out. It's very very unlikely that Mimikyu's popularity was what led it to being a Totem. That would have been planned way in advance, long before it was officially revealed. Mimikyu just ended up being popular, so they capitalized that by giving it some more marketing. The fact it had already been made a Totem Pokemon would be an added bonus.
I am sad we don't get any variations of it, though. I hope we see some in upcoming games. Charizard Mimikyu anyone? --------------------   |

Maybe I'm just weird, but I don't like Mimikyu at all. Especially after I saw him in the game. I find him super creepy and scares me how much he "likes" Pikachu. ;o; I mean, the face on the bag is kinda cute, but the idea of this pokemon in general is so creepy. xD

Hurray for a sparkly new avatar with a side of iced tea!
I sort of made a new account on Neopets with my own personal e-mail address. At first the sole reason was to make fun of it like I did with Club Penguin on the JonTron Discord, but I sort of got back into it actually like I did as a kid. Of course I'm not gonna obsess over it, but I now have something when I don't have anything to do on GPXPlus and all of the Discord chats and forums I go to have fallen silent. Also we're learning how to do remixes in Music Technology, which was the sole reason I joined the class other than to make original video game compositions. Yay, I got the Ekrapsyfakdsakdasjhdasp egg today! Another thing to add to the dex.
Having the Mobile walker working again is great, but me remembering to actually use it would be a lot better. Like, a lot. I travel 25 miles to school, so that's enough to hatch my eggs, but I never remember to actually do it??? --------------------  Fan of most things nerdy. Currently obsessed with Critical Role, D&D, Sun Haven. Always in love with Mass Effect, Dragon Age, Pokemon (obviously), and a bunch of other things. |

Yeah, the Mimikyu kind of took me by surprise too, at least when the PokeFinder turned on by itself. After that point I knew what was pretty much going to happen. And I don't even play horror games or watch horror movies, or anything that might try to play this trope, it was that obvious to me.

I think Mimikyu was the Totem because it was one of the few Ghosts they actually added.... and all the totem Pokemon are Alola Pokemon.
Marowak was obviously out as Kiawe made use of it. And Dhelmise is only found on the final island --------------------  |
