Yeah, the only thing I can think of helping is maybe a Greasemetal script that takes it out manually, but I'm no good with things like that. It's a bit of a trade off really. With Firefox the issue doesn't come up, but i have to wait for each tab to load at least most of the way, but with Chrome's tabs it doesn't even have to be fully loaded when you click as long as you click the spot where the image will appear. But by the same token, Chrome has limiteer placed on the number of tabs you can open at one time, which is 25. I'm kinda pissed today too, since at about 9 last night I only needed 400 more clicks to get the Master Clicker achievement, but I hadn't slept in 24 hours so I passed out with my laptop in my lap. And yes, I am that chrismas4477. As well as 99% of any other christmas4477 you find on most sites. That sucks, man; and I thought so. I remember us trying to battle over wi-fi 2 years ago, but wi-fi was shitting itself. XD I'm a noob with Chrome for the most part, but I know Opera tabs can be clicked when they're not fully loaded as well. It depends if you've managed to match your max connections perfectly with your connection speed. If Chrome won't work for you, give Opera a go. Also, I know the guide says to use 105/256 max connections for Opera, but I'm finding 24 to be perfect for my end, and 128 max total connections (I'll update the front page later. XP). I'm able to start going nuts about 2 to 4 seconds after I click "go", thus getting over 100 interactions in 15 to 20 seconds rather than little under a minute. Lowering the number of tabs you open to a number like 80 - 95 can make a difference in speed too. Making the users online tab a private tab speeds it up noticably. -------------------- |

Making the users online tab a private tab speeds it up noticably. you. genious. I finally tried that, and not only did things go quicker, but I'm actually able to use the online list....which...I've just about never done, because my computer would freeze, go crazy, or even crash on it. my clicking is on a whole new level now, thank you~ -------------------- |

It does indeed. If you're running on the perfect max connections/total connection combination, there's almost no waiting time. XD Then again, the site's behavior will be the judge of that.
Thanks for sharing that. (For those who don't know how to do it: Type opera:private, open the online list in that tab, then pin it.) |

I have been trying to use opera for mass-clicking, but found it to not delete the pages I have already clicked on, even after using the typical procedure.
It's annoying, to say the least, so I'm just sticking with Firefox. |

I thought I'd add something else to optimize Opera.
in Preferences>advanced>Browsing, set loading to redraw instantly, and page icons to show no icons. the latter I just tried today, and saw a great improvement in tab loading. -------------------- |

Thanks, Coo. I'll add that to the main guide as soon as I can.
@ Samoo: My end does the same thing. It's more than likely a glitch with Opera itself. I'm battling against constant messages like "connection closed by remote server", and several tabs freezing, and having to be closed manually due to reloads failing as well. It's something to do with the information coding in the server being different to what either it, or Opera, expects to receive upon submitting clicks, or even posts on forums. I've googled for ways to fix it, and thus far, nothing has worked. If I knew how to fix it, I'd have posted in RTL's guide as well. |

Connections being closed by remote server is not an error in opera, it's a remote server. Being between you and the server gpx is hosted on.
I had a lot of this, and we changed network provider, and the problem disappeared. Lately I had some random reconnecting, the problem seem to have been the router having a firewall, and windows having a firewall. Turning off window's firewall seem to have solved it. -------------------- All my stuff is viewable by everyone on my public page. How can I change my Opera skin back to default? Shift + F12 - go to the skins tab and select the "Opera Standard" skin. I suppose I should add that, though I don't recommend changing the skin in the first place - depending if you want to click faster, or absurdly. XP You can opt to use the Opera Lite skin after you download it, but you won't know when the tabs are ready to be clicked. On the other hand, they do load faster... If you're going to use the Opera Lite skin, I recommend leaving the home page area (CTRL + F12 - general tab) blank so you don't keep opening Opera Portals upon clicking blank tabs by accident. All you get then is a pop-up which has to be closed, but you can still click the pokémon/egg that would've appeared there otherwise. Plus, I don't know many people who even need an active home-page; you can just use speed-dial for immediate access to your favorite site. =| |

It happens to me as well, along with the frequent closing connections. All you can do is reload them and move on. FireFox does the same thing every now and then as well...
Sometimes they refuse to move from a blank page after you click them. If that happens, all you can do there is close them and try again. |

If you want, you can add PaleMoon to the guide. It's basically FireFox, except it's, like 25% faster. Hell, it's even made by Mozilla. All the same add-ons, I think. It's especially recommended for newer computers.
But it only works on Windows. I posted that on RtL's guide, but she hasn't been on in quite a while. I don't think she'll be adding it any time soon. >_> Anyway, I think Palemoon is a lot faster when it comes to clicking, but I haven't tested it myself. -------------------- |

Is it possibly one of my settings? This post has been edited by Akina: Sep 19 2010, 06:16 AM -------------------- |

Is it just me, or does Opera really hate the Online Users page?

Have you altered anything differently to what's been shown? Also, what changes did you make that aren't listed in Ride the Lightning's guide? (Just to help me narrow it down a bit) I can't guarantee a solution, but ... I'll look further into it. EDIT: http://my.cn.opera.com/community/forums/topic.dml?id=201327 Now, as I don't have the problem on my end, I don't know if any of the solutions in here will work for you. Just give them a try anyways, see if they do anything for you. I do recommend clearing the plug-in path in your user preferences, however, as it's possible that it's linked to the Mozilla FireFox folder. (opera:config > user prefs > plugin path > clear the text-box > save settings) @ Ikona: I'll note that as an alternative to FireFox. There's plenty of others you can use as well - CometBird being the one I use if I feel like testing new FireFox settings. EDIT: Everything's been added thus far. If I missed anything, post here or bombard my inbox. XP This post has been edited by Arceus thrasher: Sep 19 2010, 09:25 PM |

This did wonders for me, making tabs actually start closing while I'm still cycling through clicking compared to before where the tabs would start closing when I finished clicking that set of tabs. Thanks for this tweak! -------------------- |

I'm having a problem with Opera where tabs take forever to open and close, even if it's just opening one tab it takes about 20 seconds to load and then another 20 seconds to close it. This started shortly after it stopped loading sites properly and I had to restart my computer to fix that.

Has anyone tried Palemoon yet? Because if not, then I'm taking it for a test drive.
EDIT: Hey, it's just Firefox. But faster. IMPORTANT: If you decide to use Palemoon, then you need to change this setting. about:config -> browser.ctrlTab.previews -> false But otherwise, it's pretty good. Thanks to whoever found it.
