Zerxer has noted in the past that not having an app on smartphoens has helped to keep us under Nintendo's lawyers' radar and from being cease and desist-ed. Whether true or not, I would guess that the staff would be opposed for this reason. (Even though I'd love that.)

Honestly the mobile site works just fine and there's no need for an app. The game is just fine and has quite a bit of players.

Yeah, here's the link for his post.
I honestly echo Nick's concern. With Nintendo getting big into the Mobile Market (Super Mario Run, Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp), it would be a bit risky to try and release even a free App for GPX+. Heck, they recently partnered and put out Magikarp Jump; were they to put out another, possibly more involved Pokemon-based app, a GPX+ app would almost certainly be targeted. -------------------- [align=center]add me for daily clicks [735/1000]

Just an idea man, could help bring the game back to life Yep, I also think that a lot of old cool things can be brought to life by modernizing them. It would be cool if they did it for android or iOS. Or even go further and make it for virtual reality glasses. As I see, VR or AR really suits for a lot of things. -removed link- Actually, there already was a try in India
