If you could have any pokemon, anything at all, what would it be? There is a catch though. The only things a pokemon can do is its natural abilities, like a zubat using supersonic for its senses, or a charmander using its flame to stay alive.
If I could have a pokemon, it would either be growlithe or arcanine. Growlithe as he would be a great companion, and I would love him to bits, but Arcanine I could ride, and he would be incredibly warm to cuddle up to at night. I am not really looking for a huge powerful Pokemon, I want a life long friend who I can snuggle with when I am sad. azurill: I remember my best Pokemon I ever owned in the games was an azumarill. I had him in Pokemon Sapphire (My favorite version) and he was just flipping powerful. O_O I was amazed. Plus I love water Pokemon. > w< Now he might not been the more powerful pokemon I owned but when I look back I always picture azumarill. Yup. Those are the two I am suck with.. Its hard to pick just one, I'm always tempted for more than one (like my top 3 favorites), like to choose 6 (like in the games) instead of just 1....
if I picked one it still be my #1 favorite - Watchog - the perfect size, not too big or too small, in my views smart, strong and cute, I know it will be loyal after we become good friends. Since its a normal type it can learn some attacks from other types too, it would be a strong battler/defender too. Well, if we're going without limits, I'd definitely want Mewtwo tagging around with me.
But Legendaries are Legendaries for a reason, and I'd be way to lazy to track down a legend and convince it to follow me around like a pet. Especially seeing as Mewtwo is smarter than a human. I'd love a Charizard, Feraligatr, or a Granbull, but if I had the chance I wouldn't be able to pass up Persian. Not particularly because of any ability it has, simply because it's always been the pokemon I've imagined myself with. It's just the perfect companion for me. --------------------  |

I would love to have a pet Paras. They seem like they're gentle Pokemon, so no issues with a wild pokemon attack.

Ninetales. It's a fire type, which alone can be quite useful. It can also easily understand human speech, speak through its illusions, it's long-lived, and the one in Waiting On A Friend seemed quite loyal to its old trainer. Great for companionship, having conversations with, and cuddling up to. Not to mention, its mind control abilities would certainly come in handy. Even if it couldn't use its illusions or mind control powers (since I'm not 100% sure what you mean by "natural abilities"), it would still be lovely to have around.

Coulda sworn I posted here already, but whatevs.
Anyway, Keldeo. He is my bro. Something about his design, and being a noble swordsman(or would it be "'mon" in this case?). I love it when I get him from a Pokeball in Smash 3DS, because its like he's helping me win even outside of Pokemon. Other than that, Serperior or Haxorus. All three of these guys I love because of my copy of White 2. I've played so many hours into that it's not even funny. I really wish I could have brought them over to X, but alas I don't have PokeBank.

I'd probably go with a Comfey. I wouldn't really consider it one of my favorites but it's cute, small (I wouldn't have room for anything too big) and I get sick easily so its healing effect could come in handy.

Deoxys is my favourite Mythical Pokémon and I'd love to have a giant bit of space DNA hanging around. But Silvally is possibly my favourite Legendary (if we don't count Lunala or any Psychic types) and it would be great to have a sweet abominable friend.
If Legends and Myths aren't allowed, however, I would choose Gardevoir. Psychic, so we might be able to communicate telepathically. Psychic bestie to keep me safe and calm. Because of Gardevoir's probably vast intellect she'd have some level of autonomy within the household, though. Something about keeping Psychic-types like Gardevoir/Gallade, Jynx and Alakazam as house pets is a little off-putting to me. I'm probably overthinking it though 8p -------------------- |

Realistically I'd probably have something low-maintenance [compared to things like Lanturn, which I can imagine would be a bit of a pain to take care of; large fish owners will surely sympathize] and typically pet-like such as Eevee.

I love stuff that has hidden uses or traits that would make them absolute badass if placed irl. Or that you can ride
.Garchomp is what I would probably choose. I like him as far as design and power go. No levitate or magnet rise yet he can "fly like jet planes" and is seen flying in all anime seasons while being ridden by someone. Would be less hard to take care of than a bigass Salamence. I have a weak spot for Dragon types. Second would most probably be a pokemon that knows Teleport and Psychic or Confuse ray. Badass stuff. Then I would love to train an electric type pokemon of some kind. Then an interesting grass type that knows vine whip and aromatherapy or some sort of healing and regeneration and is low maintenance. Honestly Meganium sounds like a good house/garden mate. Then you have stuff such as Lucario (aura seeing), Ninetales (fire/ice but low key psychic)...
