I'm sure everyone has at least one.
What are the abilities you enjoy using, and why? Are there any you absolutely must have on certain Pokemon? Tell us all about it. My favorites are Rock Head: because I love being able to use moves without those nasty recoil drawbacks, Magic Guard: because it stops all that annoying residual damage, Poison Point: because I like using it to force certain opponents to stop using their main attacking stat/attack me through my higher defensive stat if they want to avoid losing health every turn, Rough Skin/Iron Barbs: because doubling it up with the Rocky helmet makes for some nasty extra damage, and Own Tempo: because confusion is a status problem I tend to have the most issues counteracting. -------------------- |

Lets see abilities:
I like the abilities that the starters have that increase the their own type attack when their HP is low I find the abilities that allows you to escape from a battle useful I also like the abilities that stop you from getting damage from outside elements like sandstorm and hail I think those are the top ones I like off the top of my head. -------------------- GPXplus Groups Joined (click to show ) Contest Ribbons and Credits (click to show ) |

Arena Trap and Magnet Pull are my two favorites. When something troublesome comes out early, you can scout a move or two with Protect, then switch to a Pokémon with said abilities (Dugtrio and/or Magnezone) to get them off the field without a hitch. With 2 layers of Toxic Spikes and/or Stealth Rock/Spikes on your opponent's side of the field, you can opt to run a Protect oriented set on Dugtrio and OHKO threats that it otherwise couldn't due to its meager attack stat. I never saw the point in running 4 coverage moves when it's more than likely that you'll have team mates that can handle what Dugtrio could never hope to trap and KO.

I'd love to say multitype just because my fav pokeon arceus has it,, but tbh, it has to be Darkrai's bad dreams, because if you pair that up with hypnotism, nightmare, and dream eater, you got a literal nightmare lol, and it wipes out most opponents in just a few turns...

At the moment, Rock Head. I got an Aggron with Rock head, and it's IV and EV points in attack are both at max, and I bred him to have Head Smash. Even attacks that aren't very effective can still kill the opponent.

This is gonna sound weird, but Damp.
I was running through a cave in Heart gold and ran into a shiny Graveler. My Quagsire's damp ability stopped it from using self destruct so I could catch it. So glad I had it. |

My favorite ability has to be Regenerator. After a long battle, my Mienshao with low health, goes back in the Pokeball and some of its health returns.

Moxie is one of my favorites; Raises, what, the attack every time you destroy an opponent. My Krookodile in Pokemon Black had Moxis as an ability and it was a FANTASTIC sweeper in the Elite Four.
Staticis another one of my favorite abilities. Has a small chance of paralyzing your opponent after a direct, physical attack. -------------------- |

My favorite ability that I've ever used is Magic Guard, which prevents a Pokémon from being damaged from anything that's not a move (ex. poison, I think it blocks things like Stealth Rock too but I'm not certain). It was always hilarious when I used to do competitive battling and people would try to poison my Reuniclus, and I'd just be like, nice try sucker
I also really love Skill Link; I had a Cloyster with that ability, taught him Icicle Spear & Rock Blast and he could pretty much devastate anything that wasn't resistant to both Ice and Rock. -------------------- |

^^^ Those are moves. And ThunderStorm isn't a thing.
My favorite abilities are Speed Boost, Magic Guard, Prankster and Technician. Speed Boost allows the Pokémon to set up while gaining speed each turn, and then it can Baton Pass the stats to sweepers. Magic Guard prevents damage from Poison/Burn/Weather/Entrance hazards. Prankster is my most favorite; The entirety of my battling style consists of entrance hazards, status conditions and stat-changing moves like Calm Mind or Swords Dance. Technician powers-up weak moves like Mach Punch, which allows quite a bit of damage to be dealt after at least one Swords Dance + STAB. |

Flame Body. I've more of a Pokémon Breeder then a Trainer, so Flame Body is really useful for me. Magma Armor is great, too.

I'm pretty fond of Sand Stream, because it made Tyranitar that much more awesome. It's a shame the +SDef boost that they added in Gen 4 was relatively wasted though, considering it didn't help scrubs like Golem and Rhyperior become usable in any way.

In theory I'm a HUGE fan of Prankster, but I'm not much of a set-up battler.

Mold Breaker is one of my favorites, because it's basically a giant "screw you" to your opponent's ability. What's that? An Eleketross? I can't hit it with Ground type attacks? Haha, nope!
Primordial Sea and Desolate Land, as well as Delta Stream too, mostly because they sound awesome. Adaptability and Technician are pretty rad as well. -------------------- Light is a spectrum.
