QUOTE(me August 9th @ not sure what time) So I just find out the base [I'll use speed as an example] stat for a pokemon, subtract that by its current [speed] stat, multiply that by 4, and thats the EV for that [speed] stat? ((If the base speed is 100, and the current speed is 103, take 103 subtract 100 and you get 3. Multiply that by 4 and you get 12... So the speed IV for that pokemon would be about 12?)) Well? Is that right or not? QUOTE(Aug 11 2009 @ 01:19 PM) my garchomp has a power bracer (+4) and he's battling a machoke (+2) that's six shinkx has a exp. share: +2 or + 6? Your Garchomp would get +6, your shinx would get +4. Garchomp kills the machoke, +2. It's holding the power bracer, +4. +6. Shinx gets +2 from battle. and +2 from exp. share. +4. Okay, then I guess it would just get 2 then. Also, are you sure that the "switch-out technique" works? I'm kind of doubting it but I'm too lazy to look it up =s

I have a question.
Should I wait till my Pokemon are fully evovled before I begin to EV train them? Or could I start any time? -------------------- -What?

I'm confused... when you say round up, does that mean that a number like 1.3 goes up to two, and that round down means a number like 4.7 goes down to 3?

Just to confirm something: if I were to level up a Pokemon by keeping it at the front of my party, then switching it out, would it gain any EVs, or would it have to have been the one to KO the Pokemon? It isn't holding an Exp. Share.
I figure this would be the best place to ask. -------------------- |

Okay, this is probably a dumb question, but if you were to max out the EVs on a Pokemon soon after capture/birth, then would that mean that if you were to battle a wild Pokemon of a completely different EV stat then the EV gained after the battle would be null and void because you've maxed out? Sorry if it's a kinda confusing question.

Sorry if it's a kinda confusing question. geez, i feel i am going to get chewed at for this necropost, but it ain't my style to leave a question unanswered. you got it right, once you hit the cap of 510 ev's, you can't get any more, which is why you keep tabs on your training, and once you reach max ev's, off to fight high-level opponents and get exp. also, is this guide gonna get an overhaul? it says so on the top, but seeing how the last post was a few motnths ago, you know... -------------------- |
