Move Request Form
Dr. Adelaide Robinson, aka. The Demented Doctor Spatula: Current Levels Move requested: Razor Fin Pokemon to be taught: Tynamo How will it learn the move?: Adelaide's Tynamo is really quite insecure, mostly about his bone-dry movepool. He's scared that because he's been getting stronger but not learned any new moves, Adelaide will ditch him for a better Pokemon. While recuperating in the Pokemon Centre in Baccate, he tries new ways of attacking and refines a technique into something usable, which eventually results in Razor Fin. Notes: This is not a move from the game; indeed, the link is to the trading card that it's from. I'm not entirely sure what it would do, because trying to convert TCG moves into game moves is hard, but here's my initial thoughts:- Razor Fin Type: Water Power: ca. 60? Accuracy: 100% PP: 20 (max: 32) Priority: 0 Damage: Physical Target: Single Non-User Effects: None If there's something wrong with this please say, and I'll try and make it balanced. It's just... Tynamo really does have a barren movepool - literally only four moves - and I think it'd be very in character for him to want to figure out new ways to carry the day and be credit to team, as the saying goes. This would carry over to his later evolutions (rightly famed for having gigantic movepools), wherein that drive for self-improvement hasn't gone away. It just seems like the sort of thing he'd do, y'know? -------------------- |

I'm actually quite sketchy on this. While a part of me says it's okay, because Tynamo has such a limited movepool, the other part of me says: "That's what you get for starting with Tynamo."
Also, this: QUOTE Guidelines Tier 1 moves: base power 0-40; one per pokemon per RP. Tier 2: base power 45-90; only 1 per character per RP. Tier 3: base power 95 and up; only one per character every other RP. The level a pokemon can use the move is determined by comparison to other pokemon movesets. For moves that are not learned by level-up, the level learned is determined at mod's discretion. You already got Signal Beam for Mantyke. This proposed "Razor Fin" would fall into a Tier 2 move as well. If it were, say, Base 40 attack or lower, or, for some reason, over 95, then I'd be able to actively consider it. I'm sorry, I must break your heart again. -------------------- Song Stuck in My Head:~*~Blank Space - Ariana Silvanas (Postmodern Jukebox Cover)~*~ Pane (click to show ) Uprising (click to show ) |

It's okay. I'm mostly just trying to establish precedent here. Besides, it's not precisely my heart you're breaking.
It's the cute little eel critter's heart. Which you jumped on. Wearing hobnailed boots. You monster. -------------------- |

I'm gonna break this board. Watch:
Taggarty Lee Tag hits up a move tutor tent and purchases a few TMs that he likes, as well as have the tutor teach the five move tutor Pokemon new moves. Basic, right? Moves Requested: Suzu : Swords Dance (TM 75) - Tier 1 Bachi : Taunt (TM 12) - Tier 1 Kyoko Venoshock (TM 09) - Tier 2 Tobi Pain Split (Move Tutor) - Tier 1 Orin Snatch (Move Tutor) - Tier 1 Tonbo Thunder Wave (TM 73) - Tier 1 Kana Work Up (TM 83) - Tier 1 Uchi Magic Coat (Move Tutor) - Tier 1 Enka Heal Bell (Move Tutor) - Tier 1 Razo: :mienfoo: Dual Chop (Move Tutor) - Tier 1 Worth a shot. -------------------- Song Stuck in My Head:~*~Blank Space - Ariana Silvanas (Postmodern Jukebox Cover)~*~ Pane (click to show ) Uprising (click to show ) |

So, if my dear Tynamo were to find a way of developing the move, would it be okay to use this as an opportunity to get the previously-discussed Razor Fin for him? Or shall you once more brutally crush his hopes and dreams? His tiny, adorable, oh-so-precious hopes and dreams?

Kam: Approved for immediate use. All of your pokemon are well within the level of learning it, save Razo, who I could not verify.
CCC: I'm going to have to also say no. As you've said, Razor Fin is not a move from the games, nor has it been translated into the anime. With little data on it, it will be too hard to track it's power and such (where as with game moves, we can look on bulbapedia and get an instant look at its capabilities). I realize it has a limited power pool. Other starters do as well, and still others have weak stats despite a nice sized power pool. It's a wonderful (in my own arguably biased-'cause-it-ain't-me opinion) to play with the limits and have it overcome despite them (Such as Diamond and Pearl episode 21: Ya See We Want an Evolution). I believe we have yet to see a character take a weak pokemon like magikarp, feebas, or tynamo, and put the effort in to work it to it's more powerful evolutions. This is an opportunity to be first. -------------------- |

After Baleful Beast ends, Tynamo will probably end up being Level 36. This, plus the levels from winning my first-round match, will be enough to evolve him and give him the ability to speak English. His name, of course, he will pick himself, because a hallmark of Adelaide's personal philosophy is not calling anyone by a name that they did not choose.
His name will be Kaizen, and for once in this thing the use of Japanese culture isn't entirely spurious. -------------------- |

Name of character: Aaron Zephyr
Move requested: Aerial Ace ( TM ) Pokemon to be taught: How will it learn the move?: Gligar already knows the move after having practiced the aerial arts for years at the Violet Gym. Notes: I know it's not exactly how a TM would work, but I think it's most definitely plausible considering the circumstances Name of character: Aaron Zephyr Move requested: Silver Wind ( Egg Move ) Pokemon to be taught: How will it learn the move?: Parents were Yanmega and Venomoth Notes: The move is in her blood--she's done it for years in the wild, Aaron just doesn't know she can do it. Yet Also, I realize that these moves both have a BP of 60 and qualify as Tier 2, but I was thinking that one of them could substitute for the Tier 3, one every other RP, limit, since I won't be requesting any Tier 3 moves for a good long while xD -------------------- |

Hmmmm...Normally, I would not allow two Tier 2 moves, but here are the limitations:
Gligar: Aerial Ace is usable immediately (Heracross, Level 10) Yanma: Silver Wind is approved, but not availabe for full use until Level 25 (earliest user is Ledyba, Level 25. Venomoth is technically Level 1, but Level 1 Venomoth is an impossibility). Please make sure you include the Father/Mother - Heritage in your profile. Name of character: Sebastian West - Current Levels Move requested: TM X-Scissor Pokemon to be taught: Blade the Scyther How will it learn the move?: After losing it's leg of the three stage battle against Jill and her crew Sebastian feels that the weakest link of his team is Blade. Near the wharf in Port Barley a conspicuous man is selling TM's. Sebastian decides to check the store out and uses all of his leftover money to purchase a TM X-Scissor for Blade to learn. Notes: Although Blade is only level 14, assuming the RP Grading goes alright for Me then Blade will be greeted with a handy amount of levels therefore making it strong enough to handle the move X-Scissor. -------------------- |

Hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.
The earliest available the move can be used is at Level 29 (Pinsir). Sceptile can learn the move at Level 16, technically, but you also can't have a Sceptile until Level 36. Blade may begin to learn the move now, but will not master it or be able to use it to its full power until Level 29. -------------------- Song Stuck in My Head:~*~Blank Space - Ariana Silvanas (Postmodern Jukebox Cover)~*~ Pane (click to show ) Uprising (click to show ) |

Approved!
Ognian, I'm sure, will be at an applicable level once officially caught. (It's earliest at 23, which I think your average already surpasses.) -------------------- Song Stuck in My Head:~*~Blank Space - Ariana Silvanas (Postmodern Jukebox Cover)~*~ Pane (click to show ) Uprising (click to show ) |

Ognian gets caught at the end of In the Shadows. Or maybe now... at In the Shadows, though.

Move Request Form
Dr. Adelaide Robinson, aka. The Demented Doctor Spatula: Current Levels Move requested: Magnet Rise (Move Tutor move) Pokemon to be taught: Joltik How will it learn the move?: Tynamo is feeling useless after the competition has left him unused. Joltik is trying to cheer him up by performing tricks, but it doesn't work. She suddenly hits on the idea of him teaching her how to float like he does (Magnet Rise, as a move, being a temporary version of Levitate, Tynamo's ability). After Hijinks Ensue, as they are wont to do, the little fuzzy wire-nomming Pokemon has mastered the art of levitation, albeit only for short bursts, and Tynamo feels better. Aww. Move Request Form Dr. Adelaide Robinson, aka. The Demented Doctor Spatula: Current Levels Move requested: Toxic (TM Move) Pokemon to be taught: Mantyke How will it learn the move?: After her many brushes with opponent-forced dirt-munching, Mantyke's looking a little green about the gills. Adelaide, being Adelaide, nurses her back to health and tries to see how she can make the little ray feel better. With a snap of her fingers, she remembers that there's a TM salesman knocking about and hits him up for some utility moves to make her feel more herself. The one she gets turns out to be Toxic, and Mantyke can pass on her nausea to someone else. -------------------- |
