I usually choose the grass one, but that's just me.
Do you like one of the types over the others? You said that the water final wins by look, but you don't have to evolve any of the starters. Is there a move in particular that you like? Does one of the starters have it? What is you favorite stat? Which starter has it higher than the others? What's your favorite color? Any of the starters have it? Which starter gets to final first? Are any of the starters your favorite animal? When picking a Pokémon I like, I tend to ask myself thousands of questions. It helps me prioritize what I want. -------------------- |

Fire Starter. I never change. I don't care that the fire type looks like a Pig this time around.

I usually start with the fire starter but i don't really like the looks of it. I never choose the water starter though because i do horribly when raising it. So i'll probably start with the grass starter. But the water starter's final evolution does look cool. When it comes down to it, it's all about what moves it learns and what moves it can learn through TM's

I'd go for the water type or the fire type. The grass type's stats fail.

Personally, I am in love with the grass starter. His stats are pretty lame in some aspects but I once said "Speed is all you need" because he really pulled through for me in a few pinch situations. When only their first forms were revealed, I knew grass was the coolest and fire was a close second, with water being dead last. Now that we know all their forms, Grass is still the coolest, Water is pulling a very close second, and fire is left in the dirt. Seriously, the fire starter is terrible. They wasted a whole lot of potential coolness on yet another Fire/Fighting ugly pig thing.
So, if you ask me use Grass or Water starter. They're both excellent. -------------------- |

Well I'm choosing the grass starter like I normally do. I don't know what it is that makes me do it, but I go. I'm choosing it because it is the only evolution line that makes sence to me. Plus it will be the first starter to have a final evolution without limbs!I especially like the body pattern it has. There is just this love at first site thing going on every time I see a grass starter. Must be because my first pokemon ever was a bulbasaur.

Already posted my answer, but I came up with a split. My plan is to get both Black and White.
For Black, I plan to go with the Fire starter. For White, I'll try the Grass starter. -------------------- "Thus the metric system did not really catch on in the States, unless you count the increasing popularity of the nine-millimeter bullet."

When I first saw the starters, I wanted Pokabu so badly. When I saw their evolved forms, I thought his evolution was the coolest one as well. However, it's typing destroys it, but, I don't give a shit...

I'm probably gonna save up for both Black and White, so I think I'll go for Tsutarja and Mijumaru.
I've really got to get out of the habit of calling them Smugleaf and Wotter... -------------------- |

Also SCOUT~! I'm pretty much doing the same. My Black playthrough will be with Tsutarja (since I don't like the cotton ball Grass thing) and the White playthrough will be with Mijumaru, since then I can have my pretty Doredia. I mean, Pokabu's okay, but...I'd rather go with Candlebro (Shanderaa) for my Fire-type, and pick up Fighting elsewhere, like with...perhaps...Kojondo? -------------------- |

I'll most likely pick Mijumaru, if I get either version. Still debating whether I will or not.

As for me, my favorite is the fire starter this time around. My least favorite is the grass starter.
You said you don't know which one to choose...so...umm...there are a lot of things to "go by" when picking a starter. -Go at random -Go with your body type (if you're really buff and/or fat, go for fire) -If you want a "various" team from the beginning, base your choice on which pokemon you encounter early -Movesets? Statistics? I'm done with ideas. Lazy. This post has been edited by Dazmi: Nov 16 2010, 01:40 AM -------------------- |

I'm going to get the grass starter, most likely. I don't know if I'll keep it in my party forever though. I really don't like the starters very much at all.
