Hello, everyone!
This month's theme for the Coin Event is based on a Snow on the Beach theme. I've been listening to the new Taylor Swift album, and thought it seemed like a fitting name for a lot of the ice types we have! The event will run from the 9th of December until the 26th of December at reset. (December 8th 11:55pm ET -> December 26th 11:55pm ET) If you had any leftover Coins from the previous event, your total will be reset to 0 when the event begins. The dreidel will be active from December 18th until the end of the event on December 26th. It will work the same as usual. The Event Shop will remain open until December 30th 11:55pm ET. Try to purchase what you can by then! When the event begins at the designated time, the following Winter and Hanukkah themed Pokémon will hatch with a Coin: Winter: Alolan Sandshrew Alolan Vulpix Amaura Bergmite Castform Chingling Crabrawler Cryogonal Cubchoo Delibird Eiscue Galarian Darumaka Lapras Pineco Piplup Rolycoly Seel Shellder Smoochum Sneasel Snom Snorunt Snover Spheal Stantler Swinub Vanillite Hanukkah: Baltoy Charmander Litwick Tyrougue Vulpix If you've saved enough Coins, you'll be able to exchange them for some lovely prizes in the Event Shop! Prizes range from 1 Coin to a top prize of 500 Coins. We hope you'll have lots of fun with this event! Ditto has been disabled due to an unforeseen circumstance. It will not continue being in the event. -------------------- |

That's an interesting theme, I wouldn't have guessed it. I like this selection of Pokémon too! Good luck folks!

So overlapping coin event, Dreidel and presumably a scavenger hunt as well? That should keep young trainers too busy for mischief. Oh... and of course a few Pokehunts as well. And Dreidel coins are the same as Event coins and we get some coins for finishing Scavenger hunt or am I just needing to go clear my head with fresh, cold (but no snow) air?
It is interesting the Event Shop closes just a few days after the event ends. I guess that would help reduce the "big pile of coins" for any unlimited summoning/resurrect/egg items. ETA: Rolycoly? I am sure it might be useful on a snowy beach day for some warmth.... but I think I may be missing part of the common lore here? And the only <5k egg in the bunch it will be popular but perhaps not so much since it was recently in other events/hunts/something which allowed many to hatch some shinies already. ETA2: Since event eggs appear more commonly in the lab and Ditto is an event egg will it appear more commonly in the lab? This would be great as I still am seeking just one more Sh. Ditto... And Dreidel coins are the same as Event coins and we get some coins for finishing Scavenger hunt or am I just needing to go clear my head with fresh, cold (but no snow) air? Aww you're all good, TM. They're good questions. I'm not really sure either, but it should be all the same. I had Zerxer look over the thread before posting it to make sure that nothing would clash. We'll see when the scavenger hunt and dreidel go live... If not, then someone will ping him in the discord probably. There was a comment in the Planning Events thread that suggested rolycoly as a "coal for christmas" option that I thought was really clever and added it in there. As for maturity, I don't look at that anymore. If something fits with the theme - though this theme name is a stretch, since I didn't want to go with the generic Winter Wonderland name - then it'll go in. With that said, the coin event themes are set for over the next year in advance right now except for next December. If anyone has a theme in mind for December then go suggest it in the planning events thread! Also, if anyone has breeding requests for these events then feel free to ask in here, or ask others what they would like bred. This list felt pretty long to me, so I imagine some will be more favored than others. I'll be breeding Alolan Sandshrew. -------------------- |

I'm happy that there's plenty of stuff I don't have to hunt. Looking forward to a good time and many coins to be had! Hopefully I can knock out some of the higher maturity ones.

Thank you for the detailed responses Jen. The Rolycoly makes sense now and its inclusion is just simply fun and delightful. See, the holiday spirit(s) have infused me! Or been imbided by me?
I have over-thought the event egg maturity dynamics. I did look last event at which event eggs were being bred and expected it to be heavily skewed towards the faster hatching. It was slightly skewed towards the faster hatching but other apparent patterns were clearly present: more breeders of newer eggs and those which had multiple evolutions. So there was basically a much better distribution than I anticipated. If I can remember, I will prettify the numbers and post to the last event thread. They are tucked away someplace here... I think all the coins being the same is not really an issue. It should make it easier (and simpler) for players of various styles and attention levels reach their goals. I am hopeful I can develop goals which are moderate and clearly limited. The store closing shortly after the event along with the inventory limits should help with providing a solid "this is enough or more than enough" signal. Happy holidays everyone. I will be checking my lists and seeing which pokemon have been naughty or ------------- wait. Differemt persona, different story. Regards, -TM -------------------- * * * |

Oooooh interesting to hear that there are already themes chosen for a years worth of events! More opportunities for rampant speculation now
I think also, with the changes through the year there isn't so much pressure on optimising coins. I feel like I can spend a lot more time focusing on hunts for high maturity eggs/things I want/things I don't have! I'm looking forward to finally finishing my Lapras hunt from the last trip to the beach this event! -------------------- |

I've been slowly easing into Midnights - I get distracted by the first few songs and I'm starstruck that The Waitress made it into a Taylor Swift video. Good luck everyone! Here's to a nice relaxing event by the fireplace.

After some health issues and, quite frankly, hormones making me too sensitive (picture me crying by the mention of a pet hitting themselves on a door while running for a ball, or laughing for 5 minutes straight just because someone said "Pudding"... Right now I'm at the "will fight just by someone looking at me wrong for half a sec, unfortunately), I am so glad to read of a new event!
Thank youuuu! Also interesting to know you guys already chose the next events! It makes this super interesting for us to try to guess 👀 Just a small question! If possible, could we maybe have more time to empty our coins? I bet a lot of people would feel better to have slightly more time to use them for their summons or else! ~~Unless the amount of time is just like that because we are getting another coin event almost immediately after this one, in which case 👀... Time to guess!~~ -------------------- |

Was certainly different to adopt some Dittos from the shelter from a Daycare... guess this might have had something to do with the change fpr the event?
Also found quite a few in the lab after reset today. -------------------- * * * |
