The Pokémon world is one that is unique and ever-changing, with new regions, Pokémon and technological advances that wait behind every corner. Filled to the brim with trainers, breeders, coordinators, gym leaders, Pokémon and, of course, normal city folk. To these normal citizens (we’ll call them Residents) who do not spend every waking moment accompanied by Pokémon, they seem like common little things that are akin to pets, at best. Their intellect is not noted, their powers go unappreciated as Residents have their own needs to take care of that Pokémon cannot help with. Why should, then, Pokémon be involved at all within a Resident’s life?

Well, modern-day scientists wanted to solve that question. Surely a Pokémon’s sole purpose was not just to accompany Trainers and other young adults who travel the regions? They had already found use for Pokémon in the workplace; why not within the homestead? And it was this group of scientists, or Creators, as they were called, that found an answer.

By taking DNA from both Pokémon and humans, they managed to create a Morph, and entirely new being that wasn’t a Pokémon, but wasn’t quite human either. These new creatures, experiments, whatever one wished to call them, were unique in the fact that they looked like a Resident, save for strange hair and eye colours that were akin to how a Pokémon looked. Their facial features were more feral than a normal person’s, but what separated them from the Residents wasn’t their appearance; it was their abilities. They had more stamina, strength and the same strange powers that Pokémon had, but to a lesser extent.

Morphs were marketed to the Resident population as a sort of servant that would help around the house, and they took off like wildfire. Every Morph was sold to a Loyal, or a Resident who would then own the Morph and would be able to order it around. Each Morph had a collar that would be used to keep the Morph in check, while their Loyal would have a bracelet that could be used to track the Morph if needed. However, even though the collar was fully functional, it was rarely used by Loyals. The Creator hadn't stopped at just combining DNA; they had also fiddled with the Morph’s cognitive functions and had created a servant that would always listen to any orders that they were given, though at the expense of their vocal chords.

Due to their high price, Morphs were only available to upper class citizens, though some middle class families managed to find the funds to purchase one. The Creators revelled in their success, but they didn’t stop there. If they could create something by combining the genetic structure of two beings, why not take one and see what would happen if the injected the other’s DNA into it?

To try out this theory, the Creators found an old, abandoned Flareon and brought it back to the lab. They then hooked it up to their machines and introduced some human DNA into the Flareon’s body. To their dismay, the result was less than satisfactory. Yes, their creature was bi-pedal and had human features, but the body, still covered with fur with a tail and paws, was too similar to a Pokémon’s to be introduced to the public. Its powers were too strong and it was incapable of human speech, only able to repeat its own name. This Anthric, and the idea of taking a Pokémon and putting human DNA into it, was immediately scrapped.

One would think that this would discourage further advancement, and that the creation of the Morph was more than enough for the Creators. In spite of this, they merely pushed harder and stumbled upon an idea; why don’t they try taking humans and injecting Pokémon DNA into them?

But how would they get willing humans to participate in the testing? Why, that’s where you come in, my dear…

For you see, these Creators are smart ones; they’ve lured you in to participate through internet, newspaper and magazine ads to participate as a Subject – someone who will later be turned into a Gijinka by infusing them with Pokémon DNA. And what you don’t know is that after you become a Gijinka, you’ll be sold to your very own Loyal…

• Residents – People who live in the Pokémon world without befriending or utilizing Pokémon. Basically regular civilians.
• Creators – Scientists who create Morphs, Anthrics and Gijinkas. Will do anything to make a profit off of the Resident population.
• Morph – A being created from Pokémon and Human DNA. They look like a normal Resident, but have coloured hair and eyes that are reminiscent of the Pokémon that they are a part of. Their facial structure is more animal-like and they have boosted stamina and strength. They also retain some of the Pokémon’s powers, but they are noticeably weaker. Are completely mute and can eat either Pokémon or human food.
• Loyal – A Resident who owns a Morph or Gijinka. They are given a control bracelet that links to their Morph/Gijinka’s collar, which lets them track and temporarily stun them if needed.
• Anthric – A failed experiment by the Creators. Had a human’s body shape, but retained the Pokemon’s features, powers, and vocal abilities.
• Subject – A Resident who has been lured in by the Creators. To be turned into a Gijinka by combining the Subject with unknown Pokémon DNA.
• Gijinka – An experiment created by taking a human and injecting Pokemon DNA into them. They retain their human appearance and ability to speak, but grow Pokémon like features (ie. horns, tails, little bits of fur, changes in hair/eye colour & shape & size, etc.). They also gain prominent abilities from their Pokémon (ie. If they were injected with Lucario DNA, the Subject would be able to see Aura, but not able to use Aura Spheres and such.)

N otes;;

• Subjects can be from any region and any city; however the RP will take place within the Castelia City residential area, only because it’s easy to port Subjects in from everywhere…and it’s a pretty darn big city to boot! Therefore, all Loyals must currently reside in Castelia.
• Obviously, no Subject will be given Legendary Pokémon DNA. Just keep in mind that not all Pokémon are acceptable in a home environment…
• Rest assured, your character’s Gender will stay the same ~
• Within the RP, Gijinkas sell for less than Morphs because of their experimental state. Gijinkas will be delivered to the Loyal’s household when it is time.
• When the RP starts, always check the 3rd post for what’s going on with the RP 8D
• Your personality is not expected to change drastically once injected with the Pokemon DNA.

R ules;;
1. You need to make a MINIMUM of 2 characters; one Subject/Gijinka and one Loyal. No exceptions.
2. Do not complain about your assigned Pokemon/Gijinka/Loyal. Please. You’ll just be a drama queen.
3. Post once a day. If you can’t, please say so on the OoC thread.
4. Um, minimum word count for each post should be around 400-500 words (which only encourages you to type your post up in Word or something) PER CHARACTER.
5. Not really a rule, but I personally don’t like reading essays. Keep the post within reasonable length. Quality over quantity.
6. All subject matter must be no higher than PG-13. This includes backstories and RP content.
7. No powerplaying/God-moding/being disrespectful within the RP. Legit.
8. If you have an issue with another player about their actions or post, either politely PM them or tell me about it. Don’t chu dare fight.
9. Wow there are a lot of rules um please watch your spelling and grammar.
10. Final rule (which is not really a rule); I suggest that only semi-advanced to advanced role players join this Roleplay. Of course, this is just a suggestion and I’ll be open to anyone joining as long as your character fits the bill ~

Aight, so Jax is a Mankey. Cool. Let's do this then.

Gijinka appearance; Jax now stands at 5'6", barely shrinking. He now weighs 110 lbs. So, not much of a difference there. His skin is now tan, instead of slightly tanned. He has gained shaggy light brown hair, which is a major difference from his once pitch black hair. His hair spikes out sort of like a lion's mane, though not to that extent.

The biggest attributes, in Jax's opinion, would be the newly acquired ears (being the same color as his hair). However they are rather tall, so you can easily identify them. He has also gained a light tan tail, with the tip being brown. Generally his tail twitches in excitement, becomes stock still with anger or sadness, and then just waves around with no particular pattern normally.

His eyes are always hard, even a bit fierce. When he gets mad, you can practically see fire in his eyes; when sad his eyes soften a bit, though not much; and when excited they light up. His athletic frame is mostly the same, maybe a little more defined if anything.

From the transformation Jax has become easily angered, and it happens quick. His pulse starts to get faster and then he's just on a rage. It's hard to control or stop him, though it is possible. When in one of these rages he can't distinguish friends from foes. He's a bit more quicker and more agile too.

You get a cookie for thinking of three Pokemon I thought of as suggestions, though I quickly worked out that Sneasel wouldn't work because it does the opposite of Christina, it targets the weak and defenseless while she defends them.

You are the only one who picked out the one I thought would have been a really obvious suggestion though because of her strongly artistic side and preference for painting. Smeargle has a freaking paintbrush for a tail! XD

I didn't think of Scyther though. I should have, Scyther is awesome. XD

Right then, I've just forced out a first post. Sorry if it doesn't make too much sense, I've had quite a bit to deal with today since typing up Chris' gijinka appearance, so consequently I made that post up in phases. Tomorrow, I'll give it a re-read (and check here) to see if it needs editing, but for now, I think I'll head off to bed. I've been up for 19 hours today...

Just as a quick heads up to everyone, I won't be able to post tonight due to the fact that I'm going out in about twenty minutes, and I likely won't be back until very late tonight/early tomorrow morning. I'll have no problems getting a post or two up tomorrow, but tonight's pub quiz night, and no way am I missing out on that XD

Oh, and don't worry about spatial tampering from me anymore Runi, my Awesome Arcy alter ego (the one responsible for said phenomenon) has been stuffed right back to the depths my mind. That being said, the Houndoom of Doomity Doom Doom is still in their somewhere, though he's not made himself known for quite a while...

Gijinka appearance; The first, most apparent change to Juliet's appearance is the light purplish tint her skin took. Her feet are now yellow as well. She gained a very small plug-like tail too, but it's too small to be really noticed and it's always hidden by clothes. Juliet gained large rabbit-like ears that are the same color as her skin. They have yellow tips and, unlike Whismur, she lets them droop down her back, making them reach her mid-back. She has full control of them, however.

She is now 5'5", having lost three inches, but her weight has remained the same, making her look a tiny bit more round. Her blonde hair is now very bright as well, just like the yellow markings on her feet and second pair of ears. Her irises now have a weird cross-like marking, which looks just like a Whismur's eye. On her head, really near the base of her new ears, there are two small holes.

As for abilities, the only ones she has gained is the ability to breathe through her ear canals, virtually granting her a much greater amount of stamina since she can breathe from five different places and the ability to scream amazingly loud, as loud as a jet plane engine. These two abilities combined make her able to scream nonstop due to increased air intake. Screaming at that volume does not hurt her throat, though her hearing, which is logically better due to having two pairs of ears, does take a hit from such a loud sound. As a result, screaming hurts her.

Gijinka appearance: Christina’s appearance has changed rather drastically. For starters, she has shrunk sat least six inches in height to the smaller height of 4‘9“ and her weight drastically decreased to a lighter 96 lbs. This makes her more capable of fitting in to small spaces which makes it easier for her to hide and to try to escape buildings with smaller openings than the average human should be able to fit through.

Both her hands and feet shrunk in size to be smaller than they should be for her size though they remain human in shape and make her take up even less space. The nails on her fingers have moved to the very tips to form small claws. They have become stronger so they won’t break as easily though they still can break if enough pressure is applied, the lack of size makes it hard to apply that much pressure to them alone. They can be used to dig through hard materials like rocks as well as softer materials like soil though it wouldn’t be particularly useful inside buildings and it would require a knowledge on how to avoid causing a cave in on yourself to be used well.

Over the front of her eyes, a thin casing has developed which is incredibly hard but lacking a clear use besides minor protection of her eyes that otherwise haven’t changed. It is completely see through and would be impossible to notice under normal circumstances. When any quantity of focused light is shone directly on to her eyes then it reflects off in all directions due to it being the starting layer of a gem though some would still get through to her eyes. Thanks to it being thin though, it would only very slightly amplify any light that entered it and gives no real advantage, it just looks pretty when light is focused on them and makes it easier to find her with a torch in the dark which is more of a disadvantage.

All of her teeth increased greatly in sharpness and slightly changed in heights so they interlock well when she smiles to make a rather creepy smile when she shows her teeth. These can crunch up fairly hard objects like rocks or break up even harder substances like metal and gems to smaller sizes to be easily swallowed. Of course this would seem stupid or strange to a normal person but it is more of an instinctual reaction when something is thrown at her and is only not a problem for her because her stomach gained the ability to digest pretty much anything with ease. However, she does NOT have the ability to crystallise what she eats.

Sadly her beautifully blonde hair that she loved has turned to a lovely dark purple instead and her once pale skin has turned to the same shade of purple as her hair. Neither give her any abilities but just because it is a dark colour, she can be hard to spot when it becomes dark due to her naturally blending in to the darkness.
