The RP has started, but sign ups are still ongoing and won't close.

INTRODUCTION

Originally conceived by NES2, this RP is a dual-forum RP where the Role Players of Pokémon Elite 2000 (PE2K for short) go up against the Role Players of the Global Trade Station Plus forums (GTS). Within the RP’s storyline itself, RPers from PE2K take on the role of one of the factions in the RP while GTS’s RPers take on the role of the other. There are a few smaller NPC factions also, but these are simply inserted into the storyline to provide additional depth. The main conflict will be between these two factions and the actions of the characters that belong to GTS and PE2K role players will be the main drivers of the unfolding storyline.

The RP is set in the world of Talandra, a world similar to the ones in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon Series where this world is inhabited only by Pokémon, which means no humans will appear in this RP. In this RP, you will assume control of a Pokémon character.

Note that the events mentioned in this storyline are all events that have happened already. The RP opens a few months later after these events have happened:

THE STORY SO FAR

As it has always been on the Pokémon world of Talandra, there were Pokémon that kept to nature, and there were those that had spent their time focused on the innovation of technology and engineering. Officially, those that kept more to nature called themselves the Nightjade. Meanwhile, the Pokémon that made up those that focused on technology were called the Urban Unity, striving to advance the progression of Pokémon civilization and technology. In truth, throughout time, these two factions have had their violent enmities, but for many years, the two factions simply kept their distance from each other and attempted to stay out of each other’s business. While the Pokémon of Nightjade flourished with the beauty and wonders of nature, the Pokémon of the Urban Unity constructed buildings, developed science and innovation, and founded a more civilized society. For many years, the Pokémon of the Urban Unity believed they had the advantage over the Nightjade simply because they had weapons and even motorized vehicles while the Nightjade didn’t. Regardless, as before, they simply kept their distance, still having plenty of land to develop on.

The Nightjade soon made a very vital discovery that had once been thought to be impossible. Naturally, the Nightjade Pokémon were the only ones that had access to certain evolutionary items such as Fire Stones, Leaf Stones, and Dragon Scales. For the longest time, it had been assumed that only certain Pokémon could ever actually use these items. Many Pokémon thought only a Vulpix, Growlithe, or an Eevee could ever use a Fire Stone, and so on. But in truth, this was not entirely true. For others… it simply took a longer amount of time and more prolonged exposure to the stone. Originally, Pokémon that thought they couldn’t use these stones simply ignored them or quickly traded them for something else. It wasn’t until one day that an Eevee named Jess and her friend Natalya, a Furret, had discovered a Dragon Scale and a Metal Coat from one of their recent adventures. Immediately after finding them, Natalya believed they were useless to them and immediately thought of the Poké money it would fetch for the two of them instead. However, Jess, never really liking to sell away her treasures, encouraged Natalya to keep her Metal Coat. In the end, the two of them hung onto them like good luck charms.

Two years later, the seemingly impossible happened. Jess had actually managed to evolve into a draconic evolution of Eevee, later called “Dracoeon,” through the prolonged exposure to the Dragon Scale. She had turned deep purple in color, now with two dragon wings, two dragon-like fins in the shape of dragon wings over her ears, and a spiked draconic tail. Almost immediately, Jess became a celebrity, having discovered a new way for Eevees to evolve. And then, not very long afterword, Natalya had evolved as well, becoming an evolution of Furret with a larger size and with metallic spines and armor over her fur, later called “Spurret.” After that, Jess and Natalya simply let the Meowth out of the bag and were pretty open when it came to revealing the secret. Several years later, the Nightjade Pokémon had discovered the advantage they were looking for. Many of them were able to evolve into new Pokémon, while the Urban Unity Pokémon were left envying this power. As expected, the Nightjade Pokémon had a much easier time obtaining the power, still able to find the stones and other evolutionary items, while the Urban Unity no longer had them as their urban cities covered the landscapes. Regardless, both sides, now even in strength, still kept their distance from each other, though the overconfidence of both sides was nipping at the nerves of the other.

However, one unintentional disaster of enormous proportions unleashed the tornado that would spark the war between the two factions.

One day, the Pokémon legendary known as Shaymin came across an incredible source of power and potential in her travels, a power known as the Indigo Corona. She had found the glowing twilight-colored sphere of light on a forgotten mountaintop, and curiosity had gotten the better of her, deciding to investigate the Indigo Corona instead of consulting the other legendaries about it. She approached it and then touched it, causing her body to become the adopter of an overwhelming amount of power, raising her potential and abilities to incalculable heights. Very quickly and very easily, it became far too much for her to control, so much so that it drove her mad. To avoid unintentionally hurting anyone with her new, uncontrollable power, she quickly burrowed and drove her way toward the center of Talandra’s core, now able to dig wildly through even solid rock. Meanwhile, even the magma and fire of Talandra’s core didn’t stop her in her mad rush. Finally, nearly bursting from the power of the Indigo Corona, she finally reached the center of Talandra’s core, finally as far away as she could get from the rest of the world.

However, even that wasn’t enough. Unable to contain the overwhelming power, she then burst into a massive flower that grew from the very center of Talandra upward. Very quickly and very swiftly, the root network of this massive flower grew so huge that it began using the entire world as a flower pot, growing wildly until it hit the surface. With the root system now entrenched throughout the world, massive and enormous flowers, along with thick flower beds, began to emerge on Talandra’s surface, growing even in deserts, mountains, frozen wastelands, swamps, and other places that would have never seen unnaturally colorful flowers like these.

The situation only grew worse, however. These new unusually colorful flowers, now called Shaymin Infection Flowers, caused Pokémon that came into contact with them to swiftly turn into grass types, suddenly finding themselves with leaves and flowers growing out of them as a result of touching or breathing in the “infective” pollen. These new grass type Pokémon also found themselves inheriting some of Shaymin’s abilities, such as the ability to purify air, as well as the unintentional spread of flowers around them. Now, many Pokémon suddenly believe these Shaymin Flower Infected Pokémon are spreading the infection even further, even though the flowers that are created by these new grass type Pokémon are harmless. However, not every Pokémon believes that…

In the meantime, the massive Shaymin Infection Flowers not only infect Pokémon, but they’ve ruined countless cities as well, especially within the Urban Unity. Many of these Pokémon discovered that many of their buildings, factories, roads, and innovations had been destroyed as these flowers tore through the asphalt and concrete. Immediately, many of the Urban Unity Pokémon suspected that the Nightjade Pokémon were responsible for these destructive flowers and the infection, believing they encouraged or enslaved Shaymin to unleash this catastrophe upon them in effort to destroy their technology and forcefully bring them back to nature. In their defense, the Nightjade Pokémon tried to convince the Pokémon of the Urban Unity that they had nothing to do with it, but the Urban Unity Pokémon didn’t believe them.

Now, the Urban Unity wants payback against the Nightjade Pokémon while the Pokémon of Nightjade are trying to defend themselves from their old enemies. Meanwhile, the Shaymin Flower Infected Pokémon are left in the loop, finding themselves being pursued by those wishing to eliminate them to stop the spread of the infection. What’s even worse is the arising of the Dark Lily faction… an entire faction of Shaymin Flower Infected Pokémon actually trying to spread the Shaymin Infection even further.

Life in Talandra will never be the same…

THE SHAYMIN FLOWER INFECTION

First and foremost, Pokémon that are already grass types can’t be infected by this. Meanwhile, Pokémon can still evolve even if they’re infected, but the infection remains in their new form.

Essentially, any Pokémon that has been afflicted with the Shaymin Flower Infection is now a grass type, which is either tacked onto the single type they have, or replaces one of the types they had (in the case of a dual type Pokémon). So a Ratatta would become a Normal/Grass type, while a Pidgey would become a Grass/Flying type. In terms of appearance, Pokémon that have been infected are now mainly green in color with leaves and flowers blossoming around them. Like Shaymin, if they stay still in a particular place for at least ten minutes, they cause flowers to bloom around them.

There are both advantages and disadvantages to this infection:

In terms of advantages, first and foremost, an infected Pokémon is obviously infected and can’t be any more infected regardless of how much more they linger around the Shaymin Flowers, giving them free range even in the “red zones.” In addition, infected Pokémon can use any grass-type move, and only need water to survive. Meanwhile, their lifespan has also been tripled (even though this may not be applicable when it comes to the RP) due to the purifying nature of the Shaymin abilities that have been granted to them. They also are resistant to poisonous gases and can even remove them. Finally, they have regenerative abilities, able to heal considerably faster than normal non-infected Pokémon.

The disadvantages are that many Pokémon are pursuing them to eliminate them. But, in the same scenario, an infected Pokémon can play off of this, using the phobia of their pursuers to scare them by coming close to them and threatening to infect them. Besides this, the infected share the same weaknesses as normal grass types, taking more damage from Fire, Ice, Poison, Flying, and Bug types. But they gain the same resistances as well against Water, Electric, Grass, and Ground types. In addition, Pokémon that are infected will need to drink water at least once every five posts, so navigating through a wasteland or desert might be dangerous if they don’t carry water with them (which shouldn’t be an infinite source by the way).

FACTIONS & CHARACTERISTICS

THE NIGHTJADE
Played by the Role Players of Pokémon Elite 2000

The Nightjade Faction, which are the main advocates for nature, generally live in caves, treetop villages, and the kinds of small towns made of mud, clay, and wood that are usually found in the Pokémon Mystery Dungeon games. Meanwhile, the main Nightjade alliance realizes that those affected by the Shaymin Flower Infection are not at fault. Even though they weren’t as badly affected as the Urban Unity, there are still a few Nightjade Pokémon with the affliction. The Nightjade are united in force, trying to protect themselves against the Urban Unity while protecting those that have been hit with the affliction.

Advanced Evolution: Only Pokémon within the Nightjade faction can have “Advanced Evolution” forms (fakemon evolutions that aren’t in the games), like the case of Jess the “Dracoeon” and Natalya the “Spurret.” In all cases of Pokémon, the Advanced Evolution form follows this pattern:

Single Stage Pokémon (Farfetch’d, Zangoose, etc.) – These Pokémon can now evolve, with their second stage being their Advanced Evolution form.

Double Stage Pokémon (Vulpix/Ninetales, Munchlax/Snorlax, etc.) – These Pokémon now have a third stage that is their Advanced Evolution form.

Triple Stage Pokémon (Charmander/Charmeleon/Charizard, etc.) – The Advanced Evolution form replaces the third stage. So a Pokémon in its second stage would have to decide to abandon their natural third stage to achieve Advanced Evolution.

These Advanced Evolutions also follow this pattern in relation to the evolution item held:

Fire Stone/Magmarizer – Evolve into a Fire type Pokémon
Thunder Stone/Electirizer – Evolve into an Electric type
Water Stone – Evolve into a Water type
Leaf Stone/Sun Stone – Evolve into a Grass type
Dragon Scale – Evolve into a Dragon type
Metal Coat – Evolve into a Steel type
Dusk Stone – Evolve into a Dark type
Reaper Cloth – Evolve into a Ghost type
Protector – Evolve into a Rock type

Other items, such as the Shiny Stone, Dawn Stone, and so on are left to the discretion of the RPer.

Pokémon in an “Advanced Evolution” stage do not have resistance to the Shaymin Flowers and are just as susceptible to infection as other Pokémon are. However, if an Advanced Evolution Pokémon gets infected, they are allowed to become a Pokémon with three types, where one of those three needs to be the Grass type. So for example, if you made a Dark type Advanced Evolution of Wartortle (to replace Blastoise) and he got infected, his types would be Dark/Water/Grass. This is the only situation where a three-type Pokémon can be possible.

Also, Pokémon characters of the Nightjade faction cannot use the technology of the Urban Unity. They don’t know how to work their guns, pilot their vehicles, and use their radios. If they found them and picked them up, it would confuse them if they attempted to make sense of it. Not to mention that they shouldn’t be out to use their technology anyway given the faction’s background.

THE NIGHTJADE TRAITORS (THE SHADOWVINE)
Played by NPCs

Like the original Nightjade faction they hide within, the Shadowvine share the same concern that they need to fight back against the Urban Unity. However, they disagree with the Nightjade for the cases involving the Pokémon affected by the Shaymin Flower Infection. They believe the infected are spreading around the affliction, and need to be eliminated before it consumes them all. They are also against the Nightjade faction for protecting the infected.

Like the Nightjade, some of them are new Advanced Evolutions as well.

THE URBAN UNITY
Played by the Role Players of Global Trade Station Plus

The Urban Unity is mainly an alliance of Pokémon that have learned to make machines, construct advanced buildings, have learned to forge metal, and have mastered the aspects of architecture, engineering, science, and technology. In terms of tech level, they have learned to make any type of technology from the era of World War II and earlier (no nukes, however). This includes motorized vehicles, automatic weapons (though they are not as lethal), airplanes, radios, phones, and so on. Meanwhile, their cities look very similar to towns and cities that were from the era of World War II. The Urban Unity dislikes the Nightjade Pokémon simply for the belief that they refuse to open their mind and embrace the possibilities.

With the current state of affairs, the Urban Unity believe the Nightjade Pokémon either convinced, forced, or tricked Shaymin to unleash the catastrophe of the infective flowers that have turned almost half of their population into grass types while gigantic flowers and rampant flowerbeds have overtaken several of their cities and devoured their roads and technology. They believe the Nightjade did this in an attempt to bring them back down to their level, something that has made the Urban Unity furious as years of work has been utterly destroyed. Regardless, the main Urban Unity faction believes the infected aren’t capable of spreading the disease, so they are willing to protect them.

Urban Unity Technology: – Because the Urban Unity has researched technology, your Pokémon character can be equipped with armor, have a weapon, and even a vehicle (note that because vehicles are WWII era, they’re quite easy to destroy considering the kinds of powers Pokémon have). Your character can also be a specialist and could also create armor, weapons, and vehicles.

Note that the tech level in this RP CAN NOT be advanced. You’re free to produce as many WWII or earlier era technology items as you like, but it may not go any further than that. Note that large machines or vehicles, such as battleships or Boeing B-17-like airplanes, should take time to construct. However, simple devices such as radios can be created in single posts.

Shaymin Flower Infection Aftermath: – About half of the Urban Unity was infected by the Shaymin Flower Infection. Because of this, at least half of the RPers signing up for the Urban Unity should be RPing infected characters. If too many people seem to be dodging this (as in less than only one infected character for every five Urban Unity characters), sign ups may be blocked until willing RPers sign up with infected characters.

Also, many areas within the territory that the Urban Unity controls have been labeled as “red zones,” areas that are overgrown with Shaymin Flowers (these will be highlighted on the map). There are some cities that are within these red zones, but as expected, many of them are in ruins and only Pokémon that have already been infected (or normal grass types) live in them. There is some possibility that lost technology could be salvaged from these sites, however.

THE URBAN UNITY TRAITORS (LOCKDOWN)
Played by NPCs

The traitors of the Urban Unity, known as Lockdown, agree that the Nightjade factions are to blame for the catastrophic Shaymin Flower Infection, and believe its payback time for what they did to their cities. However, unlike the main force of the Urban Unity, they believe the infected are a lost cause. Because of that, they believe the infected need to be put out of their misery, and the “red zones” need to be quarantined.

Like the Urban Unity, they too use technology, including armor, weapons, vehicles, and so on.

THE SHADOW LILY
Played by NPCs

Seemingly hated by all, The Shadow Lily faction is comprised entirely of Pokémon infected by the Shaymin Flower Infection. These Pokémon not only enjoy their new attributes, but are actually out to spread the Shaymin Flowers across the world in hopes to infect every last Pokémon on Talandra. Meanwhile, they practice strange voodoo-like black magic, using the eerie and enigmatic powers to ensnare, rapture, and curse those that oppose them.

MAP OF TALANDRA

Legend:

Nightjade Controlled Areas are locations with name labels marked in light green.
Urban Unity Controlled Areas are locations with name labels marked in light blue.
Dark Lily Controlled Areas are locations with name labels marked in pink.
Neutral Areas are locations with name labels marked in white (white).

Map Characteristics:
  • Large cities are resembled by large white dots with a large city label hovering above them. Smaller cities and towns are resembled by smaller white dots with a smaller city label hovering above them. Small villages are not indicated on the map, but this does not mean they don’t exist! Its up to the RPers to discover and define these villages if they come across them in their travels.
  • Any city location that has two dash marks around it (for example, --Graystone City--) indicates a city or town that has been overrun by the Shaymin Flower overgrowth. Cities under this condition are typically half-destroyed while the other half is surrounded and wrapped with the Shaymin Flowers.
  • The city and town possession indicated on the map is only reflective from the role play’s beginning. Its quite possible possession may change over time as control over certain cities is switched from one faction to the other depending on the outcomes of battles and so forth.

DEATH AND DYING

It IS possible to kill other RP characters, as well as be killed by them in this RP. HOWEVER, IT MUST BE DONE FAIRLY AND REALISTICALLY. If your character dies, that’s not necessarily the end for them.

When it comes to which of these two afterlife realms your character goes to, Murhe is the realm of the evil, and Sovinto is the realm of the good (FUN FACT: Murhe actually means woe and grief, while Sovinto means peace and reconciliation in Finnish). Depending on your character's personal alignment and their past actions, its up to you to decide where they go (i.e. you get to be St. Peter for a day). Obviously, a saint of a Pokémon wouldn't end up in Murhe, and a homicidal maniac wouldn't find themselves in Sovinto. Use your best judgment, but if you can't decide, flip a coin.

And some rules on killing other people’s characters:
  • YOU MUST GIVE THE CHARACTER YOU’RE ATTACKING A CHANCE TO RESPOND. There are absolutely NO one-hit kills when it comes to attacking and killing another person’s character.
  • Consider injuries as well. If your character is very critically wounded, keep in mind that they won’t be fighting at anything close to full strength, and that further injury should result in death. As far as inflicting injuries to others, start small and work your way up toward graver injuries if the battle continues on. As long as they are fair and are realistically inflicted, there's no problem.
  • Upon revival, Pokémon that were infected by the Shaymin flowers are cured.
AFTERLIFE

MURHE

Murhe is essentially Hell for Pokémon, where those that have sinned and have done horrible crimes against their fellow Pokémon are condemned.

Grindscape – A typical wasteland, Grindscape isn’t so much as painful as it is extremely boring. The land is very prone to earthquakes, which may seem shocking at first until those who stay in Grindscape quickly get used to them, and realize it’s impossible to do anything with the terrain always shaking and rumbling. Also, nothing grows in Grindscape either, and generally, only the mad wish to permanently live there.

Shatterlands – As a nearby neighbor to Grindscape, most of the Shatterlands is cracked and broken, very much like an arid, dark desert. However, the worst part of the Shatterlands is the hideous and ear-splitting noise. Loud, hideous grinding sounds make it impossible to speak or even think straight. Meanwhile, those that live here are either deaf or are too senile to even notice the sounds in the first place.

The Abysmal Strand – As a twisting, horribly-shaped area, the Abysmal Strand’s pain and frustration is its horrible smell. Those who don’t live in the Abysmal Strand are always nauseous and feel the need to throw up every pressing, foul-smelling second. Also, it is impossible to eat anything and keep it down. Most Pokémon undergo the same pain of constantly feeling the need to vomit, even poison-types. The smells are also from noxious gasses that result in hideous and disgusting diseases, which induce even more nausea and violent vomiting.

Sunken Hills – Considered to be an upside-down land, the Sunken Hills are the home of the completely insane and psychotic. While the landscape looks and feels like a mountain range in reverse, most of the land consists of sunken pits and canyons. As for the Pokémon, they are either completely mad, are total idiots, or are insanely homicidal. Those who live here end up learning a new language only they can speak, and as everyone tries to speak their own language to everyone else, random body language becomes the only real form of communication. Also, everyone seems to want to go somewhere, but they don’t know where to end up going.

Reject City – Reject City actually looks and feels like a normal modern day city at first. However, upon closer inspection, the City is completely overstuffed with Pokémon who are too impatient and still believe they need to work 80 hour work weeks to keep living. Most people in the city either have very dirty jobs, or boring office jobs that never change day by day. Meanwhile, the frustrations of every day life are multiplied many times. To everyone, work hours go slower, and hours of leisure are over in mere seconds. All coffee is decaf, all the cars are the same, all the televisions are stuck on the same news channel, and the weather is always the same: a cloudless sky with no sun. Here, people know what time it is, but the actual date is never mentioned. In fact, calendars completely stop existing in Reject City. There are many in Reject City that even deny they are dead. Pokémon from the Urban Unity may find themselves sunken into the trap, but those from Nightjade would be so bewildered that they wouldn’t know what to do with themselves.

Weaponblood – While most of Murhe is psychologically horrific, Weaponblood is the exception. Those who come to Weaponblood get caught up in the desire to endlessly kill or be killed. Always a bloody warzone, fighting and combat never stop and never know rest in this area. Like a twisted video game, those who are “killed” simply respawn so they can kill or be killed again. Weapons like knives and firearms are also respawned so the fighting never stops and so everyone involved with the endless carnage always has something to fight with. As a result, the lands are totally saturated with blood, bullets, broken weapons, bodies and body parts, and the like.

Gluttony’s Playground – Probably one of the most disturbing areas, those that come and live in Gluttony’s Playground are absolutely obsessed with eating. Pokémon are given infinite food to binge on, inflating them up like monstrous balloons as they become completely unaware of what their intake is doing to them. However, the fatter they become, the more their bodies evolve to meet the endless intake, often eliminating needless bones, organs, and appendages such as feet and legs that become useless once they’re too fat to walk. Shortly after, their own blood becomes fatty oil and fat-producing organs begin to grow in their massive bodies.

Firesplatter – Murhe’s star hellhole is Firesplatter. The temperature is always 650 degrees Fahrenheit, but somehow Pokémon can tolerate the heat, albeit not ever well. However, fire Pokémon would actually enjoy this place if it wasn’t so horribly boring. The food here is always burnt, and the heat often drives those that hate it into absolute madness. Also, all Pokémon that live here now have red and black skin, which isn’t painful now that they’ve gotten used to the burns, but it still looks horrendously ugly. Pokémon also start losing their fur and feathers, become very shriveled up, and look terribly ugly.

The Grim Void – Everything in the Grim Void looks horrible, smells horrible, tastes horrible, feels horrible, and sounds horrible. The main objective of the Grim Void is to harass and frustrate as many Pokémon senses as possible at all the same time. For example, a dinner may look like a dead, black roach that smells like manure. When attempting to eat it or touch it, it will feel like broken glass and make a horrible screeching sound during that time. Meanwhile, all things in the Grim Void are like this, defying logic and knowledge to create the most absolute abysmal place to be.

Escaping from Murhe

Knowing you wouldn’t want to be stuck here the entire RP, there are ways to get out. How exactly you find them is up to you, but it should involve seeing at least two of the different areas, and spending at least five posts in each of them (total of 10). What exactly you do to get out is up to your own ideas, but you should still need to work at it. For example, someone who can provide escape may want you to do them a service that requires travel to certain locations. Or you may find a piece of a one-time-use artifact that could bring you out of Murhe, but requires assembly and the pieces are scattered around.

Once you come back to life, you appear back in Talandra normally again, but it needs to be in areas that your team controls. You can’t reappear in an enemy territory.

SOVINTO

Sovinto is considered to be the Heaven for Pokémon. If your character is good-aligned and is killed during the course of the RP, you’ll find yourself here.

The Emerald Islands – The main feature of the Emerald Islands is its rich vegetation and its incredibly beautiful flowers and foliage. No flower or tree ever wilts here, and it provides a fantastic place to rest and reside in. This is pretty much the maximum amount of paradise a grass-type Pokémon will ever hope to experience. Meanwhile, the area is also known for its pleasant and windy shores, creating a refreshing and sweet-smelling breeze that entices the senses.

The Horizon Crescent – The Horizon Crescent is like one giant sunny beach that’s always just the right temperature. Pleasant breezes make sure this permanent vacation spot never gets too hot, but allows it to stay bright and sunny all day long. The sand is always soft, doesn’t stick like glue even after being in the water, and Pokémon can drink the ocean’s water with comparable refreshment to sweet-tasting flavored bottled water.

Midnight Passion Isles – Starry skies, neon lights and terrific nightlife await in the Midnight Passion Isles, where its like a night out in Vegas without the extreme expense. The drinks are always sweet, the desserts are flavorful and pack as much calories and fat grams as a bottle of water, and the games and excitement are fun, fresh, and can be enjoyed by everyone and anyone. And every once in a while, people break out in song everyone already knows the words and beat to, like it’s the best musical ever performed and everyone gets to be a part of it.

The Sunrise Coast – Renown for its incredible sunrises and sunsets, the Sunrise Coast offers the best place to simply relax, rest, and offer refreshment. Featuring many similar beaches like what the Horizon Crescent offers, the stars are still visible even in the afternoon sky. Offering a warm tranquility, the Sunrise Coast is also known for its serene and quiet plains.

The Aurora Fields – The rolling, beautifully colored plains of the Aurora Fields offer both fantastic views and sights for both those looking upon the ground and the sky. In the endlessly starry expanse of the sky, bright, rainbow-colored auroras shine and wave in the sky with beautiful color schemes never imagined before. These same plains offer reassuring therapy for those that led painful and tragic lives before death.

Wintersong Plains – Blessed with the beauty and color of winter without the harsh, bitter cold, the Wintersong Plains is always like a bright January morning, where the snow is soft and easy to shape, while all of the trees are covered with a glass-like ice that easily refracts light and creates rainbows like a prism. Endless skiing and snowboarding without the risk of pain and injury are a main highlight here, along with refreshing winter sights.

Gemlight Islands – Like a sea of precious gems and stones, the cities and roads are literally made of rubies, topazes, emeralds, sapphires, diamonds, garnets, pearls, amethysts, and millions of other kinds of gems both seen and unseen before. Meanwhile, these islands are full of color and enjoyment, and the jewelry is unlike anything in Talandra and is incredibly easy to create without any tools.

Lovefire Peninsula – The Lovefire Peninsula is the home of lovers who have wed for life, and always wish to remain together for all eternity. Here, the sights and the sounds are always romantic, lovely, and encourage passionate relationships between love-connected couples.

Corona Islands – The Corona Islands are known as the “Islands of Light” due to them being the brightest locations in Sovinto. Despite how bright the light is, all eyes can look into it without squinting or shielding. Meanwhile, bright, colorful and harmless fires dance in the sky, creating magnificent lights and shapes that never cease to amaze.

Escaping from Sovinto

Despite the fact Sovinto is the best eternal dream possible in the RP, I know you want to get back to the fight. There are ways to leave Sovinto, but there’s more to that then what meets the eyes.

Leaving Sovinto means trying to resist the temptations to stay there and forget about the wars, which should be difficult for your character to consider doing. Also, in order to leave, like Murhe, some objectives need to be accomplished. Two different locations (5 posts in each for a total of 10) must be visited in a self-assigned mission, which may be trying to look for a hidden portal, helping someone who can help you find your way back, or assembling a one-time-use artifact that can take you back to the world of the living.

Once you come back to life, you appear back in Talandra normally again, but it needs to be in areas that your team controls. You can’t reappear in an enemy team’s base.

RULES:

NOTE: Several of these rules have been adopted as PE2K role-playing standard. Most PE2K role players will understand them, and I’ll try to make these as clear as I can for GTS role players who may be unfamiliar with these. If you have questions about these, please ask.

The RP Post Header

On the top of each RP post should be a header indicating your character’s name and species, their faction, and their current location. It should look something like this:

Desh the Farfetch’d (Name of character & Pokémon species)
Urban Unity (Faction)
Center Lake City, Victakan (Location: city and continent)

This may sound like a hassle at first, but trust me, it is a MAJOR HELP when it comes to finding who your allies and enemies are, what Pokémon their characters are and what their names are (which will save you from having to go back to the sign up thread and look for their sign up again), and where to find them so that you can interact with them and they can interact with you. Also, if your character is in the same location as other people’s characters, this will be a much quicker alert to that fact rather than having to deeply read into all the intricate details in their posts, which would eat a lot of time and slow the RP down. With this, if you see they’re in the same location as you, it will be a much faster alert for you to be on the lookout for possible interactions that their character may be trying to use with your character, such as conversation, attacking, and so on.

The Traveling Rule

When moving from one location to another, the journey should take AT LEAST three posts. It should work in a fashion similar to this:

Post #1 – “The Departure Post.” The character finishes their business in their current location, and ends the post with them leaving, bound for their next intended destination. For example, let’s say Desh the Farfetch’d decides to leave Center Lake City after buying a few items in town. The last details in the “Departure Post” would be the details of him leaving the town and going beyond the city limits.

Header example:

Desh the Farfetch’d
Urban Unity
Center Lake City, Victakan

Post #2 – “The En Route Post.” The second post in the character’s travel should cover the journey that the character undertakes to reach their new destination. Let’s say Desh is flying to the town of Vora. His En Route post should cover what things he sees and experiences on his way to that location. For example, during Desh’s flight, he may reflect on the things he sees as he flies over the Victankan Plains on the way to Vora. Its also possible his travel may be interrupted by an enemy character. Note that distance does not matter for this rule, but a larger “en route” post should be in order if the travel is very long, such as if Desh was flying from Center Lake City all the way to Houan Peak in southern Azmarax. Also, the form of transportation does not matter in terms of how long it takes to reach new locations, but logically speaking, a character would have to use a ship or a flying or a water Pokémon to cross bodies of water. Also, it can be assumed that roads and highways connect cities and towns to each other. In towns owned by the Urban Unity, roads are made of asphalt and are paved, while for the Nightjade towns, roads are made of dirt and cobblestone.

Header example:

Desh the Farfetch’d
Urban Unity
En Route to Vora, Victakan

Post #3 – “The Arrival Post.” The third post in the character’s travel marks the end of the travel, where the character finally arrives at their intended destination. So after flying over the Victankan Plains, Desh finally arrives in the town of Vora.

Other Rules
  • Please, no god-modding (obtaining unstoppable levels of power or luck and/or general abuse of the context/content of the RP) or bunnying (controlling other people’s characters without their consent). These two are a plague to role playing, please try to avoid them and be fair.
  • Please, no spamming or flaming. Also, respect your fellow RPers, both the ones on your side and the ones on the opposing forum’s team. If you have an issue or conflict that you want to see resolved, please be courteous about it.
  • Role Play posts should have correct spelling and grammar. If you’re unsure, type them in a word processor such as Microsoft Word or OpenOffice (which is free). These will allow you to spell check and grammar check your post before submitting it.
  • Limit Out of Character (OOC) chat within the RP itself (a quick heads up sentence or two is fine, but if there’s a issue you want to bring up that’s going to be at least a paragraph long, consider using the discussion thread. Also, don’t make posts in the RP thread just for out of character discussion.
  • Role play posts should be AT LEAST a paragraph long, though it is generally encouraged to go beyond that.

THE SIGN UP

And finally, the stuff you’ve been waiting for.

Name: (Your character’s name. Last names are optional.)
Gender: (Male, female, or genderless.)
Age: (Age in years. Assume that Pokémon live as long as humans do and age at the same rate.)
Species: (What Pokémon your character is, but no legendaries. If you’re on the Nightjade side and you’re RPing an Advanced Evolution Pokémon, explain what evolution line they’re a part of. For example, like in the storyline, Natalya the “Spurret” would indicate: Sentret > Furret> Spurret: Normal/Steel. Characters that are infected by the Shaymin Flower Infection should also indicate this here.)

Description: (Your character’s physical appearance. Pictures are greatly welcomed for supplement but should not be a substitution for worded description (and if someone else made the picture, please give them credit). This should be at least a paragraph long.)
Personality: (Your character’s mental state and emotional intelligence. This should also be at least a paragraph long.)
Background: (Your character’s history and background prior to the events of the RP. This should be at least two paragraphs long).
Other: (Any other details about your character, such as what weapons they may be carrying, what vehicles they may have in their possession, close NPC companions that may accompany them, and so on.)

And with all that said, welcome to the first ever Dual Forum Team RP between Global Trade Station Plus and Pokémon Elite 2000. Good luck to everyone and most importantly, have a good time. happy.gif

Assassin Team

Name: Cid
Gender: Male
Age: 29
Species: Blaziken
Faction: Urban Unity
Description:
Cid is a normal Blaziken, though he wears a sky blue jacket with the sleeves rolled up to protect them from the fires that burst forth from his knuckled when he fights. The pockets of this jacket always appear to be filled to bursting with some sort of tool. Along with this, he wears a pair of welder's goggles to protect his eyes during work.
Personality: Cid treats the world as one big game, and he plans to win it. He is headstrong, and quick to rush into anything the deems challenging. However, he doesn't expect the same attitude from his comrades, and refuses to endanger any of their lives. Despite his attitude, he can take things seriously when the need arises.
Background: A master mechanic, with most of his expertise in the aeronautics field, with some experience with weapons manufacturing as well. Currently, he is the Captain and Chief Mechanic of the zeppelin called Zephyr, an airship he designed himself, with some help from Flying Type Pokemon. Before this, he was, and still is, the head mechanic of the Red Shield Gang, a band of Renegade Pokemon that took him in after his aimless wanderings.

Cid first showed interest in the Aeronautics when he was still a Torchic. Even at that young age he cursed the fact that his wings couldn't take him into the air. As soon as he evolved into Combusken and could make full use of his arms and talons, he immediately began studying into mechanics, hoping to one day be able to build something to take him into the air. For some time he tested out experiments with both fixed-wing and rotor aircraft, which failed miserably. By the time he was in his early twenties, he had turned to blimps. By the time he had evolved into a Blaziken, he had designed a small working blimp, capable of taking small Pokemon on a ride around him hometown. However, his expenses finally caught up with him, and he was forced to flee town to escape imprisonment.

After several months of wandering, he was picked up by members of the Red Shield Gang. Thrilled with with the chance to build once again, the Blaziken eagerly accepted their offer to join. Finally, two years later, he was able to develop a working Zeppelin, which he dubbed "Zephyr". Now with full access to the air, and his lifelong dream fulfilled, the Blaziken took to the skies along with his Red Shield comrades, using the Zypher as an easy way to get from place to place.
Other: Cid travels with a large group of Pokemon who all help keep the Zypher in working order. However, to avoid overcrowding issues, the characterss will primarily be kept down to three main companions. These are: Red Shield second-in-command Seth (Buizel, age 17), and Cid's apprentices Andre (Linoone, age 15), and Wesley (Furret, age 14).

Name: Seth
Gender: Male
Age: 17
Species: Buizel
Faction: Urban Unity
Description: or
Sorry, it's a bit large. (click to show)

Seth is a normal Buizel, abet with a bit of an abnormal appearance. He lost his Species' trademark flotation sac in a fight with a Scizor several years ago, and was lucky to escape a full decapitation. Since then, he has taken to wearing a black bandanna over his neck where ever he goes to hide the scar tissue. Partially hidden under his hat are a pair of goggles given to him by a friend long since past. Finally, he has taken to wearing a pair of pants, something some of the younger Red Shield members have started to emulate him for.
Personality: While definitely sane, Seth's current mental state is quite fragile. In truth, he loves to see pain inflicted on others, and is very sarcastic, mean, and loves to run things with an iron fist. Currently he is kept in check by his brother and leader, Nick. Forced out of his natural attitude, he acts very depressed and slightly indifferent to the plights of others. This occasionally escalates to the point where he simply does not care for anything else, and is ready to leave them to their dooms on a moments notice should something more interesting pop up. This of course badly strains the relationship he has with his underlings, and it is only Nick and a few key friends that continue to work towards his continued stay in the Red Shield.
Background: Seth never had a family of his own species. Instead, he was adopted straight from the egg by a family of Typhlosions. They had had a young son of their own recently, a Cyndaquil named Nicholas, and had agreed that a little brother would be perfect for him. For a long time, Seth grew up fairly normally, acting as one might expect a small child to. However, that changed one day when he met a young Scyther named Seifer. The two quickly became friends, and the Scyther proved to be a bad influence on the Buizel. After exploring a place that both of them knew they shouldn't, the Scyther found a Metal Coat, and quickly evolved into a Scizor. However, their actions were incredibly frowned upon by the leaders of their town, and Seifer was banished. Before he left, the Scizor gave the Buizel his favorite pair of goggles, and promised that they would always be friends.

Years later, Seifer came back, leading a horde of dangerous Pokemon. Now too old to resist, the leaders were slaughtered by the Scizor's army, along with the entire town, leaving only three survivors, Seth, Nick, and a close friend of theirs, Vincent. Deciding he wanted to find answers to why his friend could do such horrible things, Seth agreed to aid in the creation of the Red Shield Gang, becoming Second-in-Command. They chased the Scizor for some time. gaining new members along the way. One day, finally, they caught up to Seifer, and a fight broke out. The Scizor attempted to strangle Seth, and would have succeeded, if Nick hadn't intervened, burning the Scizor's left arm to a charred husk of its former self.

His arm destroyed beyond all hope of repair, Seifer and his horde fled. However, the damage he left on Seth was permanent, destroying the Buizel's flotation sac. The damage was far worse on a mental level however, seeing his best friend kill the only people he had known as parents, and then turn around and try to do the same to him, proved too much for him to handle. Seth snapped, becoming a very dangerous and unpredictable Pokemon. Eventually, the gang caught up to the Scizor again, finishing the job and killing him. Once again, the event took its tole on Seth's mind, though this time he mellowed out, creating a fragile reprieve for his Red Shield comrades.
Other: Carries a Stiletto Switchblade hidden in his hat, and is quite good at using it.

Name: Andre
Gender: Male
Age: 15
Species: Linoone
Faction: Urban Unity
Description:
Andre is a primarily normal Linoone. However, his right eye is brown, like a Shiny Linoone's would be. His coloration otherwise is normal. He has taken to bandaging his waist, and has found a pair of pants for himself to wear.
Personality: A more serious Pokemon then his close friend Wesley, Andre still has quite the sense of humor, and has a happy-go-lucky personality. He has little patience, though is willing to at least try anything that interests him. He is also incredibly loyal, doing as is asked of him by his superiors without question. He is prone to rushing, and commonly becomes so focused on a task that he blocks everything else out.
Background: Andre lead a very quiet life before Red Shield. He grew up in one of the smaller cities, with a loving family. The city life suited him, though he quickly found himself bored. At the age of 13, he evolved, first developing his eye discoloration. But now the fast paced city was falling behind, and Andre quickly found that the city was in fact too slow for him. Deciding that life would be better if he found a bigger city, Andre left home, never to return.

Several months into his travels, Andre encountered the Red Shield. Attracted by the Gang's quick movements and fast-paced lifestyle, Andre signed up. The gang, while adverse to involving people too young, agreed that his speed would be useful, and allowed him to join, having him work as a scout. At 13, he was the youngest person ever to join the gang. He quickly became a close friend of Seth's commonly reporting directly to the Buizel with the results of his scout runs. Two years after he joined, Red Shield defeated and killed Seifer the Scizor, and life for Andre once again slowed down.

The Linoone became fast friends with another new recruit, a Furret named Wesley. The Furret took the place of the younger brother Andre never had. The two eventually were approached by Cid, who offered to teach them how to work mechanics in exchange for their help with his work. Wesley eagerly agreed, and Andre followed suit, becoming Cid's two apprentices. Thanks to the Zephyr, Andre's life once again has started to speed up, and shows no sign of slowing again.
Other: None.

Name: Wesley
Gender: Male
Age: 14
Species: Furret
Faction: Urban Unity
Description:
Wesley is a young Furret. He is completely normal for his species. However, he wears a dark gray vest.
Personality: A happy-go-lucky Pokemon, Wes is a bit of a slacker. Unlike his high-strung friend, Andre, Wes enjoys taking things slowly. He is a lot less serious then Andre, though infinitely more patient. However, he is loyal to his friends, following them without question.
Background: Wesley comes from a large family, who all lived in a small town. Unlike the rest of his siblings, he was always very adventurous, and commonly got himself in trouble. As soon as he evolved, he left home, hoping to become an explorer. However, this life wasn't as easy as he had hoped, and he quickly found himself out of money. The Furret had no choice but to steal what he could to survive, making a living for himself in one of the larger cities.

One day, the Red Shield Gang arrived at the city. The Furret had heard many things about the gang, and sought them out and attempted to join. Thinking that his thieving skills could be of some use, the gang allowed him to join. Wes quickly became friends with Andre the Linoone, who thought of him as a younger brother. Cid later approached the two of them, offering positions as his Apprentices. Wesley quickly agreed, with Andre eventually following suit. When the Zephyr was completed, they became its secondary mechanics, a position Wesley very much loves.
Other: None.
