What gym types would you like to see in 5th gen?
I, personally, really want a Dark type gym. there haven't been any yet
Along with that, Dragon, Ghost, Steel, Flying and Bug along with the ones revealed.

Yes, I am aware it is very much like Johto.

What do you think?

EDIT: The first gym is Grass, Fire, or Water, depending on your starter, and the second one is Normal, apparently.

Unfortunately, we don't have a Dark typer.

Dento's gym, I'm betting, is a 3 vs 3 thing, based on the look of its badge.

Regardless, the new anime trailer shows him with that new grass thing and an older one with his gym and solarbeam. So either it's an early grass gym which could be fun/easy due to the bird type we always get early, or it's a triple battle type (the new 3v3 I mean) and maybe it's grass fire and water?

I think that while I do enjoy typed gyms, this new way is clever and challenging, and I like it.

I doubt that Dento's gym is rock, which upsets me deeply. There's a reason why the first gym is rock. It's because it poses a challenge. At that point of the game, rock is the hardest type to go up against because rock types have high Defense. Therefore you have to work around the lack of Special Attack moves early in the games to devise a meaningful strategy.

Yeah, unless you're using 2 out of the three starters.
The gyms levels are usually around 10. By level 9 Turtwig learns Absorb, Piplip learns Bubble... hell, Treecko gets Absorb at level 6!!!
It's not challenging unless you have a fire type. Give the poor rock type a break.

Yes, they've made it somewhat obvious that he will be using the Grass, Water, and Fire monkey things (Yanappu and friends).
Still think Rock as the first gym is challenging? This gym will destroy us all. And I like it.
I hope the rest of the game follows this trend.
