So in an attempt to possibly stir up activity here on the music section and get closer to my fellow member, I really want to hear GTS+; what are the crowning musics of awesome, in your opinion? Just post the song and MUCH preferably a link to the song itself. I'll post my own in this post and continuously edit to update stuff I consider to be just awesome. This will help serve in not only increasing my personal repertoire of music, but also to increase yours based upon everyone's input here. After, how would you be able to stand music if you can't mix things up every so often?

The idea was inspired by a tvtropes article, but frankly I found it all to be too subjective there. Not that it won't be here, but I want to listen to some new music that could just be considered awesome, if you know what I'm saying. Furthermore, don't just list EVERY good song you think exists -- I think a LOT of songs are "good" but I want to know just what's "awesome". Believe me, I almost fell into that very trap posting here!

I just want this to be different than every other thread, and differentiate it from a "list of favorite music" thread if that makes sense. If it ends up diverging into that -- then I'll simply unpin this thread.


I'll sort mine by general genre, but I'll update ferociously as I think of more stuff that I simple adore musically.

atm all i've been doing was video game music, so I'll post a couple on my youtube playlist.

Fury Sparks from Tales of Vesperia
Suteki Da Ne from FFX, made a million times sadder when you realize that the song title translates to "Isn't it Beautiful?" and the lyrics basically translate to the plot of the game
Reckless Fire from SCRYED doing a phenomenal job of representing the intensity of the series. If you watch the opening credits, it does a great job of representing the rivalry between Kazuma and Ryuho. The lyrics pretty much do a great job of representing their rivalry too
Battle Artist from Tales of Legendia, THE song that represents the game. It's not intense, but it's melodic and it fits. Showing that other tales series' battle themes would not fit at all in this game.
Heaven's Divide -- MGS Peace Walker, I really need to play this game
Fatalize from Tales of Symphonia was so much fun, takes place during the most epic boss fights in the game (the exhibition match and Abyssion)
Zora's Domain from Twilight Princess is a rehash from OoT i know, but it's so soothing to listen to
Mt. Roneal from Tales of the Abyss is so beautiful... does remind me of snow
Finish the Promise from Tales of the Abyss is one of the greatest final boss themes ever.
Time to Raise the Cross from Tales of the Abyss is another final boss theme from the same game. Really phenomenal game
An arrangement of Schala's Theme from that one game we all love
An arrangement of Corridors of time from the same game
Fang's Theme from FF13... while I agree FF13 had many flaws (it was a great game), this theme played before the climax of the game and it had an extremely powerful feeling attached to it
The Dream that Time Dreams from Chrono Cross is one of those songs that makes me want to work past the repetitive gameplay...
Kagome Town from Pokemon BW is one of the best town themes EVER
Persis by James L. Hosay really feels like a sorrowful song (towards the middle), but it's powerful about it
White Blood from MGS4 is so awesome... it starts out with something to do with Raiden's sorrow then goes into his kickass mode.
