[Shadow Dragon]

Before time itself even began to function, there was only a little world inside of its own little dimension. The name of this world has since been lost in time, but the world itself was divided into its own little parts. The chilled northern regions were filled with small groups slowly developing technology far more advanced than those of today. To the searing southern deserts were kingdoms of mythical worshipers and great shamans. In the eastern forests were kings and queens, ruling over thousands upon thousands of people.

However in the west was the most important place in this world of all. In the west was only a single, small island where a castle laid. In this castle laid the three Emperors of this world. The youngest was the Sun Emperor, a powerful warrior with inhuman strength that could push even continents around.The middle child was the Moon Emperor, a man with strong magical power that could rival all the great mages in the world put together. The oldest, and final, was the Star Emperor. No one can remember his abilities, but those that do remember him as a quiet, roguish man that could bring peace to any soul.

They ruled a peaceful land side by side. Yet as time wore on and the world began to naturally advance itself, so did the concepts of good and evil began to advance. The Moon Emperor began to grow jealous of the Sun Emperor, as the people of the world praised the Sun Emperor much more than himself. Secretly, many of the people simply disliked the Moon Emperor for his more sly and mischievous ways, even furthering his envy and wrath.

Eventually, the Moon Emperor took to the northern regions of the world. For several years he laid in wait, forming a massive army to take down the Sun Emperor. As the Moon Army began to advance to the western regions, the Sun Emperor quickly gathered his own men to fight. As their armies met, their battles raged on for months. After a long, fierce battle the Sun Emperor eventually fell to the Moon Emperor.

As for the Star Emperor, he disappeared without a trace after the Moon Emperor began to invade the western regions with his army. As the Sun Emperor was dead, the Moon Emperor took the crown as the true ruler of the world.

Many that remember the battles call this the beginning of the black and white sides, the starting point of all good and evil after it. The evil in the Moon Emperor grew into a lust for power and material possessions. In the years to come the Moon Emperor would decide that his little world was not good enough for him. Gathering up his best men, the Moon Emperor recreated the Moon Army and began their invasions.

They did not invade their own world but rather other worlds. These other worlds were home to fantastical creatures and dangerous lands, but netherless the Moon Emperor wanted it all. These wars were called the Conquest of the Moon, a time where he rained hell down upon poor unsuspecting worlds. He laid claim over many, leaving a small group of men to look over the captured world as he went after other worlds.

As he went, he claimed whatever he could find and battling for what he could not easily take. But like all tales, there was eventually an end to the Conquest of the Moon. A group, sick of the Moon Emperor waging war and taking control, rose up against him, forming their own army from survivors of the many wars the Moon Emperor waged.

The recordings of the events claim that these battles went on for ages. As it came to the last battle, it was revealed that the group did not kill the Moon Emperor. Rather, they defeated the Moon Emperor, making him go into hiding. He released control over all the worlds he took over, retreating to his original world, and was never heard from again.

For the millenniums to come, this little world began to grow old and wither. As the Moon Emperor was in hiding, the world was left without a ruler. It began to dissolve itself in chaos and discord. Then, as if given to them by the Gods themselves, a new emperor rose. The people dubbed this new emperor the World Emperor, who promised to restore the world into its former glory.

Starting just a single millennium, the World Emperor began to orchestrate something he called the Game. He pulled people from all across the dimensions and worlds, unwillingly taking them from their homes into his enclosed world. Once they arrive, they are forced into partaking in the Game.

The Game is what is says on the tin. In the Game, the players are sorted into one of three teams. They are then forced into the Arena, where they will live and fight. In the Arena, they fight to the “death” until a winner is crowned and is sent back home, and then the cycle continues. The original three teams were controlled by a trio they call the Originals.

Controlling the first team was Shade, a young, even-handed girl. She would always help her team, and tell them that their safety is valued more than winning a Game. The second team leader was Myth, a young lady who pushed her team to be the strongest there was. She hated loss, and was always disappointed when her team didn’t win. The last of the three team leaders was Heaven, a second young lady. She just wanted to have fun; the Game did not matter much as long as her team was having a nice time.

They probably would have still been around, if the Game Revolutions did not happen. Myth was the one to cause it, an underground Arena rebellion. At first it was only her team and few others from the other teams that chose to join, but eventually Shade and Heaven joined in under her and united the three teams in battle. They rose up against the World Emperor and his army, bent on destroying the Game and letting everyone go free.

Despite their combined powers, the three Originals met their demises. They could not destroy the Game, nor could they defeat the World Emperor. In their defeat, they were removed from their positions and the Game.

Permanently.

Replacing the Originals the World Emperor brought in three new Team Leaders. These Leaders doubled as Game Masters, so that the World Emperor could now calmly sit back and enjoy the show. Occasionally, he will mess around with the Game, but the World Emperor is barely seen in public anymore.

Today is a new year, a new Game. For years before, the rumors of a second rebellion have surfaced. But no one has enough courage to take on the World Emperor anymore. Many of the younger Game Players have hope, but it is quickly diminished as they witness the power of the New Leaders on their own. Yet, they are nothing compared to the World Emperor.

Many believe that there is a slim hope that the Originals are still alive and will return. Others know that they are dead, but hope that the hope that a new rebellion leader has taken their place. Not much hope remains at all. Many simply accept the fact that the World Emperor and the Game itself cannot be taken down.

Today is a new Game. There will be new Players, new challenges, and even more drama and death to be passes around. Potentially, this can be the Game to end all Games. If you are ready to fight for it, that is.  

The Game
The Game is what the characters taken from their worlds are thrown into. Each one is placed onto one of three teams – Storm, Legion, or Mythic. They get to meet their teammates in the Arena before going into the fighting grounds of the Arena, where they will fight to the death each day. Despite the glory of winning for that day, the Game will always be a losing battle.

The Game is over watched by three GMs, which double as the leaders of the three teams. They control what happens in the Arena and are the main reason why no one can leave.

There is, however, a way to win the Game. The GMs themselves decide who does and who doesn’t after a certain amount of time. The Grand Prize of winning in the Arena, getting paid fabulously and being able to return home. At least, that’s what the GMs tell everyone. A lot of people, especially the ones that have been in the Arena for a long time, claim that they transport the winners elsewhere. None have any idea as to where, however.

We, the GMs, set a number of replies that can be entered during a round or we will establish a time limit in which you need to have your post in. Only one reply per RPer will count, so multiple replies will count as one reply. Each character post will count as their own post (Ex. RPer A posts Character A and B, submitting two posts into the round). This system of limited posts shall be used over having it as an open contest so that it is easier to grade and we aren’t waiting on people that take unexpected leave/have trouble posting. Once this maximum is met we will grade each post based upon creativity, use of power, accomplishments used, items used, ect.
The winning post will be granted the winner of that round of Game, and be allowed to create a post with them winning. Points will be added to the character and team.}}

The Teams

The Shadow Storms:
The first team, lead by the Grandmaster ((x) / (x) )
This team is filled with more ill-natured characters, but there are a few good hearted ones that are just complete jerks. Then again, a fraction could be consideresd kind hearted characters. Its colors are of dark reds and purples, symbol of a wyvern.

The Mythic Partition:
The second team, led by Elvis the Beyonder ({x} / (x) )
They are considered the Hufflepuff of the three teams, being the group where everyone else goes. Its colors are of bronze and grays, the symbol of a young snake.

The Holy Legions:
The third and final team, led by Dr. Manhattan ((x) / (x) )
They are the team of the goody-two shoes, the heroes, and the people that help little old ladies across the street. There’s probably a jerk here, but they all have hearts of gold. Well, most of them do. They are colored by gold and light blues, their symbol an unknown bird of prey.

The In-between:
There has been…rumors of a possible forth team surfacing. They are rumors, and the GMs have outright denied any possibility of a mysterious forth team. However, none of the GMs have created a viable enough excuses as to why players sometimes mysteriously disappear. Some of the missing players returns, changed into a new person, and some…never do return.
 

THE FOREST
Game(s) 1

The Forest is a highly dangerous place, despite the alluring atmosphere. The trees are too tall to climb, but a perfect hiding place if you manage to get up there. A thick fog will constantly cover the area. The naturally growing flowers form in thick clumps and can release a thick pollen into the nearby air. This pollen is of a hallucinogenic nature, causing the affected to experience mild to extreme hallucinations. There is only one type of enemy - the Shades. The Shades are deceased spirits that are trapped within the Forest, taking on the form of black hooded, faceless humanoid creatures. There is only one NPC, that being a very much insane old man that wonders around the area.

The Arena
The Arena is where the main action takes place, shaped much like the Roman Coliseum. The Arena is the place where all the characters will now live, eat, socialize…and fight. The main part of the Arena is a large coliseum like structure. The spectators fill up the stands surrounding the fighting area like a modern day stadium. The ground area is where the characters will first gather. Stationed above are several screens, four facing in each direction.

The main ground area of the Arena, as the game begins, will transform into an almost endless area for the characters to roam around in. However, the Arena does not stay to just a large field of sand and dirt. Every day it will transform into a different area, may it be a large rainforest or a volcanic mountain range or a post apocalyptic city area, even a noisily empty train station.

The process and goals of the game differ every day. Normally, the game works as a free-for-all, occasionally using games like Capture the Flag or even a sort of Scavenger Hunt on a strange day. The characters that ‘die’ in the Arena Game are booted out of the area and cannot join back in. The last one standing is the winner – they win points for their team and they win points for themselves. The team with the most points is considered the winner, and gets the best of the life in the Game. The points gained for the characters themselves can be refunded inside the Town for extra equipment, items, or maybe even juicy gossip or information about someone or something. They also use their points to buy food in the Arena or in the town. Luckily, everyone starts with 300 points. If you know you aren’t going to win, start stocking up on PB&J – I heard they were only a point each!

The rest of the Arena, where the spectators don’t go, is the living quarters of the characters. It is split into four parts – three are where each team rests, the fourth where everything else is. Each room is decorated in either a deep purple, a light blue, or a bronze (Storm, Legion, and Mythic respectively) filled with very simple furniture. There is a single bed (or two, if the chance of sharing a room occurs) with a dresser (again, two if you share a room), a desk with an old PC computer (it is strangely useless, as there’s no internet), a TV stand (filled with outdated movies), and a TV (only good for the movies, since it only shows the News channel). There are also one or more vases filled with lilies, lucerne, or lotuses (again, Storm, Legion, and Mythic respectively).

The forth section of the Arena is where the characters go to cool off on their off time. There are game rooms with different pool, arcade, card, and whatever other games people enjoy doing after fighting to their thirty-five point nine rounded second deaths. There is one large mess hall where you can buy the Arena-issued courses. Normally they aren’t that better than a standard school cafeteria lunch, but it helps you get by until the next feeding period.

The Town
The Town is the area surrounding the Arena. It surrounds the Arena, half city, half village-like area, and half downtown shopping districts. The Town is filled with faceless NPCs, and most won’t stop to give you the time of day. The City and Village part of the Town is almost useless, just filled with NPCs that you can chat to or buy information off of.

Downtown, however, is the main reason the characters will leave the Arena. The Downtown area of the Town is where you can buy extra things with your points (transferred onto a neat little credit card for your convenience). There are weapon and armour shops, where you can buy extra weapons and armour from all the dimensions ever. Most of it is pricey, though. There are clothes shops, too, if you feel the need to replace your wardrobe. There are different restaurants and fast food chains, too, so you can buy some food too if you’re feeling the munchies. Just know that they’re a hell of a lot more expensive then the Arena cafeteria food, if not somewhat better quality.

Inside Downtown are also chains of clubs and bars, another area where characters can go relax after a long day of work. At the clothes shop you can buy dancing clothes and head there. In other places, the occasional event will occur, and most characters are expected to go anyway.

IV. The owners of this RP are Gorgon (Slave1), May (HolyRomanEmpire), and I (Shadow Dragon). Our word is God here, and we all have the right to accept or decline your profiles. This also means you must wait for one of us to accept you before you can start posting.

V. Note that this could be rated about PG-13 at some parts, but otherwise family friendly. Cursing is allowed (in moderation, please), violence is fully accepted, light gore accepted, and romance is too (encouraged, because we like to make shipping walls for our RPs). Just, uh, don’t go into “the bed” if you get what I’m saying.

VI. We would like for a post to be about five sentences (paragraph) long minimum. Go crazy otherwise.

VII. When using OOC in the RP, use either [[these]] or ((these)) to separate it from the bulk of your post.

VIII. Also keep all your arguments out of the RP/OOC. Take it upon yourselves like adults – we do not need your drama you llamas. Minor things can be taken here/in the RP topic though.

IX. Please try to be active. If you know you won’t be, don’t join, or tell us if you will be absent for a while. If not, we will move on without you.

X. Currently, up to three characters max to an RPer.

XI. To establish this, characters cannot be OOCS. As cool as they are, this is an RP for characters from any visual media, video games, literature, comics, web comics, ect.

XII. No, seriously. We’ll accept anything. I personally don’t care if someone is Professor Snape then the next is Twilight Sparkle or even if Batman and Teddy Roosevelt team up. If you want it, go for it.

XIII. However note that this is an RP where there is a lot of FIGHTING going on. Your characters should at least have some sort of fighting or magic ability. You do not want to play Barney in this type of RP. However, if you do, you will receive the highest of all fives and our prayers that this RP will go well for you.

XIV. As a note, characters customizable in a game (Persona protagonists) must be used with whatever cannon personality/name/clothing/ect they have. Try to be as close as you can to this, please.

XV. Characters in pairs (ect. Ash and Pikachu, or any Pokemon trainer and their Pokemon) are counted as a single character due to their very close bonds and how they must depend on one another.

XVI. Characters like Darth Vader can carry around/summon troupes of minions, like Storm Troopers. Note that they would be then NPCs controlled by you and the other RPers.

XVII. If we consider your character too powerful, we will ask you to cut down some of the abilities to make him/her/it more even with everyone else.

XVIII. There is a very high chance not everyone has played the game/watch the show or movie/read the book or comic in which your character comes from. Please, try to keep it as spoiler free as you can for everyone else.

XIX. There are three teams your characters can be sorted into. Although you can ask politely for one while giving us offerings of cookies and live puppies and bunnies, we are picking out the teams for maximum enjoyment. By enjoyment I mean to maximize your hell in this RP.
