Since Zeven dug this up... Why not turn this into a RP, finally? Ok. Here goes.

You've sat around all school year at your Middle School/High School. Pretty boring stuff. But you've been researching around, one particular idea fascinates you; eternal life. Think about it-in a few hundred years, you'd be a living treasure! You could tell people about the stuff of today, stuff that otherwise would've been lost in history! You can experience things none of today's living population will get to experience! Now that it's finally Summer, you can't wait to go on a world trip to find out the secret to living forever. You've narrowed it down to a few select locations that might hold the key. Maybe you've been saving up for years, maybe you're parents are filthy rich and don't care what you do. But you're going to be young forever. That's your goal.

THE CAVE
The Fountain of Youth Archaeological Park, located in St. Augustine, Florida. Seemingly a tourist trap on the outside, it masks a complex cave system. The labyrinth is so hard to navigate, one might even compare it to Daedalus' labyrinth from Greek mythology; it almost seems...ever-changing. This cave has dripping stalactites all over and filthy underground air that is not quite cold, but has some sort of indescribable chill to it. The cave houses all sorts of cute little critters that you would not want coming out of your closet, and is undoubtably enchanted. Various diseases, including ones labeled as 'non-communicable' and pathogens unknown to modern science, seem to carry on the very cold, damp air of said underground maze. Why would anybody want to venture to such a place...?! Oh yes, that's right. Immortality, of corse.

THE FIELD
A mysterious large grassy field that is connected to the cave. It is (almost) infinitely large, and upon looking in any direction when you enter, all you will see is grass with the occasional rare tree and the place where the cave was exited. If one has rotten luck, the cave entrance will disappear, trapping them until a new one pops up. The field also contains two nasty side effects, however. Tiredness. The longer one stays, the sleepier they get. Each person gets tired at a different rate, and some lucky people will not feel it at all. Sleeping will only minimally help. The other joy of this place would be amnesia. The longer one stays, the more that is forgotten. However, this works at a much slower rate than the tiredness, and affects EVERYBODY. An average human being would have to stay in for about one human year for their memory to be wiped completely clean, down to forgetting how to speak, eat, and breathe (obviously causing a tragic death) (yes, this means even basic human survival instincts are forgotten). They'd probably be ever-sleeping at that point, however. So anyone who ventures in should have little to worry about, memory-wise. Just get out before a year goes by. Wait a minute... like the mast majority of magical places, time flows differently here than on Earth, so...!

1) Because I am sometimes busy, Zeven is co-owner of this RP. So if he accepts you or such, you're good to go.

If you are going to be gone for any reason, please let Zeven or I know, and you can either let your character(s) be, or delegate that somebody else take them over for the time being. Below is a story summary that will be updated as frequently as possible, however if it is not fully up-to-date it is your responsibility to catch up the rest of the way upon returning.
5) Don't be an asshole to other RPers. There's a difference between having a character that is an overall jerk to other characters and being rude to the other RPers.
6) Bunnying is probably my biggest pet peeve in Role Playing. Please, do not take over anyone else's characters, even if it's only to deflect a sword or such, unless the person specifically delegates the character to you.
7) No Godmoding either. In other words, don't put anything like "[My character] then killed [someone else's character]" or anything. This sometimes goes hand in hand with bunnying. Don't make your character be impossibly strong or such, everybody loses sometimes.
8) Although this originates on Earth, magic, weapons, and monsters are present. Perhaps traveling to other planets will even be necessary to find eternal life! Also note that just because magic and monsters will be in the RP does not mean your character(s) believe in them at the beginning...
9) In your sign-up post, you may make up to two characters. After you start RPing (I'm going to randomly throw out... 3 thoughtful posts?) you can make another, if you can handle three total characters. Making one and sticking to him/her the whole time is completely acceptable too.

Personality/Short History/Appearance: Haithel, without anyone to follow, is very volatile and hard to control. However, he is very subordinate to Maria, the first living being he saw when he hatched. He is 8"6' with irregular growing patterns, no doubt because of being a mutt and living in the cave's enchanted air. His scales are a dark green with blue spots, and he has beady red eyes with undersized wings and mangled claws. Overall, he is not the most appealing or friendly thing to look at. He cannot yet breathe fire-the best he can do is steam- and is slow, but he is still not the most favorable opponent in battle. The size and teeth are currently the greatest worries of his foes. He also has some telepathic abilities, and may read emotions and thoughts if the subject is not careful.

Dire wolves were thought to be long extinct, so it is unknown how this one arrived in the 21st century. Originally she was Shadow's partner, but Brid forced Shadow to hand her over to Cole. She is more fond of the group as a whole than Haithel (who just sticks to Ri), however.

Maria, Gemini, and Tyler all met at the Fountain of Youth Archaelogical Park in St. Augustine, Florida, right in front of the supposed Fountain of Eternal Youth.
Tyler showed Gemini and Maria the note from her friend that apparently holds the key to the first step, and they began decoding it.
The note held an enchanted password that turned the fountain into a hole leading into a supposedly underground cave which Maria, Gemini, and Tyler plunged into.
The cavern below split into two paths. Faced with the choice between a narrow path on the left and a wider path on the right, the three headed left with Gemini leading, Cole in the middle, and Ri following behind.
Milo, who had been following from the shadows, finally presented himself to the three others.
Gemini and Milo formed an instant distaste for each other, while Ri developed a crush.
However, their meet and greet did not last, as from the shadows charged a sickly hybrid dragon that was not fully grown, angry and fueled for a fight.
Milo and Cole had been about to take it down together, when Cole suffered some sort of panic attack or something of the likes and fainted. Defeating the dragon or finding a viable escape route seems to fall on Milo's shoulders now.
Luckily, upon further inspection, the dragon was Haithel, a good friend of Maria's.
Jean tracked down the group to return them to the surface. An instant rivalry formed between Jean and Cole.
Much to Tyler's displeasure, Jean decided to come with them, and they began walking again.
They ran into Zack, and Jean instinctively attacked. One barely-missing deadly boomerang and racist insult later, Zack revealed herself as "Zery" and made no commitments to whether or not she was joining them, or even seeking immortality, undoubtably due to her heavy mistrust of the kids.
Driven by her irritation, Jean began wailing a horrific inuit song, until Zery pounced at her. Although Jean sidestepped, it still caused her singing to cease, revealing the second threatening noise it had been covering- that of an upcoming flood.
Tyler decided to wait for the others to flee before she herself would.
In an act of panic, she watched Ri, Haithel, Jean, and Zery flee, dragging Gemini. She hoped Milo was following close behind, but at the top of the rock staircase Zery had come down that they had ran to, Milo was not there.
In the face of Milo's death, Cole began crying (which she has never done before within memory) and Zery attempted to dive down and search, but was held back by the others. A boulder now stood between the group and escape.
After an explosion and a lot of punching (and scratching from Haithel), the boulder finally collapsed. The group stepped into a field-like location that was not the park. A wave of tiredness instantly swept over Cole and she fell asleep. Jean found that they were in West Virginia according to Zery's phone, but Tyler's phone said some odd country they'd never heard of. It is unknown if one of their phones is acting up, or they aren't at either place.
The gang traveled through Jean's pocket-portal back to her RV, which was being hijacked.
Jean wailed, it crashed, and Eric almost picked a death-match fight with Matt. Then something exploded.
Everybody piled into Jean's RV again, and Jean began driving to a gardening store to make fertilizer bombs.
Ri started crying over Milo's apparent death, and Cole comforted her and sang her to sleep.
Eric began hitting on Tyler, which she coldly rejected.
Tyler introduced Matt to everybody.
Jean got the supplies and made Cole, who did not even have her temps, drive the RV down a rural road.
Gemini and the others decided to hide for the time being, and Tyler suggested going to her cousin's house, south of Charleston, South Carolina, to hide.
Jean and Gemini quickly agreed, for the sake of not sharing the RV's beds with Zery and Cole respectively.
Upon arrival, Gemini met Brook, who had been waiting for them with a list of their names- she, too, wanted to find immortality.
A stoned Jean, who had been smoking, nearly set Brook on fire due to her assumption of Brook being an elf due to her green hair.
Brook then disappeared and followed Shadow and Tyler into Tyler's cousin's mansion.
Shadow abruptly then asked Tyler out in the doorway of the mansion, which she refused, trying to be gentle.
Shadow, however, did not take this as softly. He revealed himself as a dark elf by casting a spell to transfer his anxiety to the already-stressed Cole.
Brook turned invisible and hid, while Jean began threatening Shadow, ready for a fight. Meanwhile, Cole fell to her knees, beginning to have visions of being rejected by Gemini. Her fictional visions of Gemini hating her then turned to realistic flashbacks of Ri trusting her.
A large dire wolf (Alizore) leaped out of the woods, and Shadow tamed it.
Brid showed up, claiming Shadow had illegally crossed territories without permission, and forced him to give Alizore to Cole. She also put a leash on Shadow.
Brid force-changed, and went down to the kitchen. She nearly attacked Jean and Shadow (not being herself), but Shadow caged her.
Ri, who had been in her room, heard gunshots from outside.
She alerted Shadow (who had gone to the kitchen for a midnight snack) and he ventured outside, pointing a gun at the mysterious armed man.
Brid turned up and told him to put the gun down, politely asking the man who he was.
Tyler, unable to sleep, took a stroll through the halls. She found Casey locked in a closet, and broke down the door to let him out.
Casey and Tyler heard the gunshots as well, and ran down to meet the others.
Shadow and Brid went inside, and the ghost revealed himself to the gang as 'Ed'.
Shadow's mother then emerged from the bushes, asking for 'Eric'.

Character's Name: Jean Frazer

Nickname (Optional): None.

Gender: Female

Age (I'm going to set it as 10-18): 18

History(Optional): Jean was born and raised by a couple of farmers in some God-fearing and yet godforsaken Arizona hamlet in the running for capitol of Middle-Of-Bumfuck-Nowhere County. At least, that's what it says on the birth certificate. It doesn't explain why she has a Welsh accent that doesn't so much lilt as caper over hill and dale, possibly in search of some sheep, nor why she steps so lightly despite her muscular build. One reason is that the accent is an affectation. Another is that she was taught to glide around the place by a maiden aunt, them being the only people who give a damn about such things.

The actual solution is that the birth certificate is utter piffle. Let me explain.

Jean was actually born, despite all medical science's warnings and the fact that she apparently had a death-wish when a foetus, to two of the elders of a commune high up in the Welsh mountains called (in the spirit of Welsh inventiveness) The Commune. It was and is a spiritual place, where the air hangs heavy with burning incense and druids happily talk to Native American shamans and experts in obscure African cults. You see, the goal of the Commune was to find and research as many different religions as they could, cherry-pick the interesting/magical bits, and build their own conglomerate faith and way of being. The Elders are particularly interested in martial arts and the practice of physical activity-based worship, and of late it is not wholly unusual to see a Sufi dervish spinning around on top of a hill whilst wielding a brace of evil-looking morning stars. All are welcome and all bring something new, whether it's new knowledge of martial arts or just a differing opinion on the fine points of Zoroastrianism in the Parthian Empire.

A child born in this environment is taught by the commune's members in, well, whatever they feel interested in. If the child is interested in something that they can't provide, usually science, there's a private school near Bangor that's always looking for new students. Jean wasn't interested in that, though. She was obsessed, absolutely obsessed, with immortality and eternal youth. The fact that Doreen Frazer was pushing sixty-five from the wrong way when she gave birth to the girl might have something to do with that, as might the fact that she's younger than her husband Marcus. They're in their eighties now, but they still live life according to the principles of the Commune - one of the few times Marcus left there was to take part in a sumo wrestling tournament in Japan, and despite being a rake-thin English septuagenerian he got to the quarter-finals without resorting to cheating or any of the huge amounts of magic he and the rest of the Commune's members have access to. For her part, Doreen is a practicing Buddhist and an Olympic silver medallist in women's sabre fencing, and she can still hold her own against the British and European champions.

As such, Jean has had an... interesting childhood, but she absorbed information and fighting skills like a sponge. Whether it was beating seven kinds of hell out of a grinning Zimbabwean doctor with an assegai or mastering a Shinto ceremony at the best of a bunch of pot-smoking monks from Saffron Walden, she hunted down and voraciously consumed anything the community could teach her. At the tender age of fourteen, she was both attending lectures on and asking penetrating questions about the religious practices of the pre-Islamic Malian Empire at Bangor University and fighting tooth and nail for a medal at the World Jodo Championships with her tachi partner and utterly oblivious source of MILF-based sexual tension Michelle Brankovich (the pair didn't get on the podium but did receive the tournament's Fighting Spirit award, before you ask). But she didn't just want to sit in the Commune and suck the knowledge and fighting prowess from everyone who came there. She wanted to see more of the world, be proactive, hunt things down for herself. The ancient mysteries of magic were just begging to be discovered, and who knew, they might just have a cure for aging stowed somewhere.

She left the Commune with great fanfare upon her seventeenth birthday, promising to return when she had discovered the secret of eternal youth or something of equal value. After roaming the world for a bit and a mild brush with death in the British Library (nothing violent, I must stress, merely a hitherto-unknown allergy to a certain type of toilet cleaner), she found herself drawn to the so-called Fountain of Youth in Florida. Of course it wasn't the real thing, but she hoped that there might be some interesting people to talk to there. Thus, bedecked in odd jewellery and more edged weaponry than might be considered mentally healthy by society at large (less gut-wrenching than you might think to get through customs), she flew to the States and made for high adventure.

Or possibly just a chance to meet some cute girls.

Personality(Highly recommended, but optional. Please include any magical/fighting skills/weakness they have here): She believes wholeheartedly in the Agglomerated Communal Wisdom, the hodge-podge of spiritual and quasi-animist beliefs that the Commune bashes together from innumerable different (to say nothing of disparate) parts, and is generally dismissive of conventional organised religion. She has something of an acid tongue on her, but it only comes out rarely and if she's sufficiently riled by you to do that then you're her friend. Why? Because if you were not her friend and you angered her thus, you'd be on the floor in varying degrees of consciousness. It's often the fate of anyone who seeks to use their position in a majority to belittle or attack those who are different from them, something she thinks utterly unforgivable. Aside from that, she's a rather positive individual, even if she is operating under an assumed identity in an alien country with a passport about as real as Pamela Anderson's udders, and if you have something to teach her about anything spiritual-related then she'll latch onto you like a barnacle and beg to be taught.

As far as fighting goes, well... she's a hard AD carry, to coin a phrase, but one with the magic defenses of a flimsy conservatory in a landslide. While she's tried to ameliorate this with slews of charms and esoteric rune-encrusted bits of jewellery, the fact remains that she has no head at all for practical magic (though the theoretical's a different story, largely because she's so determined to understand things even if she can't actually do them). However, in non-magical combat it's a very different story. She has muscles like steel cables and a lean, athletic build that means she moves like a striking cobra on about ten different amphetamine derivatives, and she's always (and I really do mean always) got a weapon secreted somewhere about her person. Her base of operations is a gargantuan RV she had shipped over from the Commune that she's not technically licensed to drive (though the fact that she has both the paperwork and enough creatively deadly ironmongery to supply a small Crusader Order from the Decree of Pope Innocent to the fall of Constantinople about her person tends to put people off asking for her insurance details), and it's similarly loaded for bear; her largest weapon is a gigantic repeating ballista mounted on a naval-style disappearing-gun platform built to fire javelins liberated from a school gymnasium by a singularly deranged Commune member with quite the hardon for ancient siege weaponry (and if certain members of the Commune were to be believed, quite the hardon full stop) that comes up from the vehicle's roof. She's excellent at providing long-range physical support and taking the fight to people in a melee, but any reasonably adept magic user'll be able to burn their way through her charms and incompetently-conjured shields before long.

Her best asset in any fight, though, is a combination of versatility and unpredictability. She's very good at reading combat, and if a particular style is not as effective as another, she'll switch between them with the practiced ease that you or I might have in changing the channels on our televisions, the sedentary, sofa-rooted blobs that we are. Given that she's got so many styles to call on and how many different swords, axes, spears and suchlike she has on her person at any given time, she's pretty hard to take down in a fight. Even her magic draws upon a singularly eclectic mix of styles and traditions, drawn as it is from the various Commune members and their specialties. She has a generalist approach that works very well indeed, but will suffer against sustained Zerg rushes and fall completely to bits against long-range magic, despite her evasive abilities.

Appearance(Picture/drawing or description): Jean's very, very tall for a girl: 6' 5" and 150lbs of wiry muscle that obviously came from martial arts rather than lifting heavy stuff in a room full of pounding techno and sweaty middle-aged building contractors with guts the size of Rhode Island and heart-attack-red skin. Her imposing build and exercise regime has left her with what TV Tropes calls A-Cup Angst, though at least they don't get in the way when she's firing an arrow into some poor unfortunate's chest, buttocks or head. As has been mentioned before, she treads lightly and has a dancer's grace about her, but people do tend to know when she's coming in public. It's the outfit.

Said outfit consists of a voluminous blue silk kimono patterned with fluffy white clouds, a dark blue kendo obi, a sports bra, loose-fitting jeans reinforced with leather at various points that need armouring a little, and... not much else. She doesn't much go in for underwear except the aforementioned sports bra, and besides, it wouldn't be practical considering her general attitude to monogamous relationships (i.e. that they can get shagged). But the most standout feature of the outfit is two-fold. First, you have the innumerable items of jewellery, all of which is a charm against something or other made out of whatever the Commune's metalworkers could get their hands on (usually bits of old Austins, though there's no small amount of precious and semi-precious metals in there as well as good-quality semi-precious stones). They alone would cause the average person to stop for a rest every five minutes, but for Jean they're almost like armour - especially in that they make her walk with a glingleglingleglingle noise.

Second is the weaponry.

No guns - the Americans aren't completely brainless when it comes to them, and though she knows her way around a firearm carrying one would just raise too many questions - but a plethora of smallswords, greatswords, axes, knives from more cultures than there are countries (some of which are really quite valuable), slings, hammers, truncheons, blowguns, darts, chakrams, flails, small homemade explosive devices, gas-powered handbows, and a handbag with a couple of bricks in it. This means she has an unfortunate tendency to clank when she walks, even when she's trying not to be noticed. Her excuse to the many and varied citizens of whichever town she visits in the full regalia?

"I'm with a military history society."

You'd be surprised how often that works, especially if you make sure to put foam on everything that looks really dangerous.

Any particular reason they seek eternal life? (Optional): Jean loves her parents. It's real love, bone-deep and unbreakable... not even by death. And she knows that the Commune deserves the secret to eternal life, because it's her home and she'd be a fool not to share that knowledge with the Elders. After all, if they hadn't raised her in their traditions, she'd be ordinary, and that would never do.

Other (Optional): She knows all the words to two songs: The Internationale and, er, an obscure Avril Lavigne album track called I Always Get What I Want.

Quite why is anyone's guess.
