I'm 17, and I've been playing Pokémon since 1998, like a lot of people.

My story starts like this...

I was 7 years old and everybody seemed to be playing this new video game - Pokémon. I'd never heard of it before, but when my dad went to the video store to rent movies one day, he brought back the first 4 episodes of Pokémon on VHS (this is how long ago it was!). He said he heard some guys at work talking about their kids playing it, so he decided to rent it and see if it was any good. Well, to put it bluntly, it was. Even now, the best of the anime ws the beginning. So after this, I decided I wanted a game. I got my parents to buy me Blue at the local Hills store (again, a while ago!) and I got started. A funny comment - it took me an hour to figure out how to get out of your mom's house at the beginning!!

So, soon after, my sister got Red and we bought a link. The rest is history.

I cannot remember how long I'd been playing on anything before the gap of Crystal/RubySapphire. All I remember is that I had Yellow, Silver, Crystal, and a few other side games. I never restarted on any of the games, because I was a kid at the time and never thought about starting over.

But then, 4 years later, in 2002, my best friend came up (he doesn't live in-town) and he and his brother and sister were playing, you guessed it, Pokémon! Ruby and Sapphire were about to be released in '03 and after a year of playing the old games, all 5 of us got 3 Rubies and 2 Sapphires. Again, the fire was rekindled.

And it hasn't been put out yet.

I still have some Pokémon from that old Ruby in Diamond right now, actually. I learned to start over, and the intricacies of the games (shinines, Feebas catching, EV's, etc.) became known to me. I was kinda the glue holding my friends and their games together. Out of the five of us, I am the one who plays Pokémon the most. I was also the one who got the other 4 to pre-order Diamond and Pearl from Gamestop. It was beautiful - the WiFi allowed my friends to trade and battle me and my sister from a few hundred miles away, and it was all because of me...

So, here's a list of all my games and accomplishments in them.

Blue - (guessing less than 100 hours)
Yellow - (guessing less than 100 hours)
Silver - (guessing less than 100 hours)
Crystal - (guessing less than 150 hours)
Ruby - over 150 hours total
Fire Red - over 250 hours total
Emerald - 555 hours (never restarted)
XD - less than 50 hours total
Colosseum - less than 50 hours total
Ranger (to get Manaphy) - just about 25 hours
Diamond - 324 hours total as of today since April 22nd, 2007 (still going up and up)
Battle Revolution - just got it. 6:37 as of yesterday

So, considering I have no idea how long I played the old games, and not counting the games that didn't directly tie into the franchise (like TCG, Puzzle, Pinball, etc.), I've got around

9 1/2 Years Spanning

12 Different Games

490 (Full) Diamond Pokédex

and

Over 1,300 Hours Grand Total

It's not as good as some people, but that's still a hefty list of accomplishments, if I do say so myself.

BTW, like most Pokémon players, I memorized all kinds of (I'm not gonna say all) type matchups. A necessity for playing, definately.

EDIT: Also, someone mentioned a DexPC. Well, if you look on my Pokémon list on this site, you will see a TON of Pokémon. Now, I don't know if other people do this, but I have 8 PC Boxes dedicated to organizing my Pokémon by their Dex #'s. It starts with Venusaur, then Charizard, Blastoise and Butterfree. It ends with Frosslass and Rotom. Every Pokémon that's not legendary has it's highest evolution in my PC.

Yup. I'm a nerd.

Shameless Man Whores

Let's see... 14 and started in '04... only 5 years. Sucks. I played Red, Gold, Ruby, Emerald and Diamond but all of them were on ROM's, and I never cheated. Ever.

Then I got Diamond in '07, and I've put 412:17 on it, just about average. noes.gif I suck. the above poster seems to have a lot of knowledge, though. You go people! Keep the Pokemon community growing.

Thank you, suzyk. Is it just me, or do you seem to appear every place I post and I seem to appear everywhere you post? If you still want to trade with me, I'll probably be organizing my massive list of PMs soon and I'll get back to you on those messages from the beginning of February, okay?

EDIT: I'm no longer a Noob, but a full-fledged Member now! 10 posts! YAY
