Which is your favorite Generation of Pokemon? I am caught between the first, and second. I also really like the 4th.
I'd rather play RBY anyday rather than FR and LG. Not that they were changed that much for some reason I just enjoy the older games better. GSC was a very fun generation because Ho-Oh fucking owned, and so did Feraligator. DP has Wi-Fi 'nuff said. |

Third or fourth, because it brought more color to the game. First started things off and third was highly overrated by the fanbase.

I really enjoyed Gold and Silver because of how they let you travel back to Kanto. It really added a lot more gameplay to to it and expanded the map a lot. Plus, the pokemon in it rocked, along with all the legendaries.

Second generation.
The rival was a CRIMINAL, it introduced custom balls, a majority of the new Pokemon completely owned, the gym leaders were awesome, everything was just better. You really got more personality on the gym leaders than just 'lulz I sit in my gym and sulk all day'. For example, interrupting Misty's hot date on the Cape and listening to Blue's emo speech on Cinnabar. Ah, and let's not forget NEW TYPES. The story was a lot awesomer, since you're not 'omg save the world' but you're still significant. The legendaries in this generation are incredible, as well. Not to mention the sheer size of the game. -------------------- placeholder |

The only ones I own are first and second, so those two. Things were a lot simpler back in the day.

And Adam, you really need to get with the times and stop reminiscing about the good old days when all you had to remember were 150, maybe 151, Pokémon. -------------------- Want a rotating avatar like mine? second gen added the least amount of new Pokemon (100) and STILL owned both third and fourth gen. There's proof that you don't need to add a whole new set of copies of the originals to make a good game.

That's what I hate about most of these generations: all they did was add copies of already existing ones. I mean, sure, adding a Hippo was something new but did we really need Buneary when there's Spinda?

Anyway, I liked the Fourth Generation, but I really liked XD more than I liked RSE, FRLG, and RBY. Games like COL and XD are really great, and it's a shame PBR isn't like that. -------------------- |

Col was a nice delta, but XD was definitely the shit. Colosseum was poor throughout and got old quick (since the shadow Pokemon were really linear), where XD was fun throughout and kept me addicted. Also made it piss easy to EV train, with Mount Battle being separated by what EVs are given out.

I mean, sure, adding a Hippo was something new but did we really need Buneary when there's Spinda? Copies of originals? The only copies that I notice are Pachirisu, Minun, and Plusle. Everything else was a change from previous generations. And Buneary is completely different from Spinda, because A) Spinda's not a whore, B) it's nowhere near similar. Do you have any other examples to back up your absurb claim?

Do you have any other examples to back up your absurb claim? Yes, Hippowdon is an obvious rip-off of Rosie O'Donnel. EDIT: Oh and I know Buneary and Spinda are different as I actually like Buneary and am going to attempt to raise one in my team while I hate Spinda. It was just the only thing I could think up off the top of my head for some reason Anyways, by duplicates, I meant like same type of real life species. I haven't played Ruby in awhile and haven't seen a Spinda in forever so for some reason I thought I remembered Spinda being a bunny. What I meant by they need to stop copying is they should just keep coming up with species that they've never had before. It was interesting when they first came out with Miltank because it was the first cow and when they had the first Monkey type or Spider. That's what makes things interesting. -------------------- Want a rotating avatar like mine? Check out my website: randimg!

Personally I liked GSC the best, but thats probably just nostalgia speaking.
Though out of them the 4th is obviously the best. I wasn't all that fond of RSE to tell you the truth and DP definitely contains all the best elements from each generation |

GSC, because it was the only sequel in the Pokemon series that was truly a sequel(seeing what happens three years later, all that crap).

QUOTE DP definitely contains all the best elements from each generation Except the awesomeness of being able to travel back to old lands and battle old gym leaders again. Oh and, you can pretty much disregard anything I say regarding D/P as I haven't played my copy of Diamond very much. I still have a lot to do in it and a lot of Pokemon to see. :| -------------------- Want a rotating avatar like mine? Check out my website: randimg!

I'm gonna have to go with Gen 1. I loved my Blue version with great intensity, and I actually completed my Pokedex in a month, believe it or not. Sadly, it erased itself at some point since then, which has me throughly annoyed.
That and my GBC Link Cable finally stopped working. -------------------- |

Second Gen. Loved playing it, and for the reasons already stated above.
