Am I the only one that used to run home from playing with my friends just to sit and watch the Original Digimon anime?

I used to do that.
I still watch Digimon everynow and then on Youtube. I loved the anime and especially the movie. I was obsessed about Digimon for a while, especially War Greymon and Renamon. I just loved it. In fact, I am going to go look up Digimon pictures noe.

I think I got into Digimon around the same time that I got into Pokemon. Does anybody remember those awesome "Tamagotchi" knockoff toys they had? Those little virtual pets on key-rings that you could feed and digivolve? I had a clear green one that was totally attached to my palm for a couple of years.

As for the show, I remember that I followed it for quite a few episodes in the very beginning, but being the age I was, when it started becoming more complex and producing different "variants", it got too hard for me to follow. I think if I had stuck with it as long as I have Pokemon, I might be an equal fan of both.

Nowadays, I can't exactly "jump back in" given how much it's changed and developed since it's debut. I like it's style, and I do have maybe fifty of the trading cards, but I wouldn't call myself a fan, so much as someone with no reason to dislike it. I have "Digimon World 3" for Playstation 1 that I'm still trying to beat. So I guess it's my only tether left to the fandom.

(I thought Gabumon was the shit. He was my favorite. ♥ )

"The world spins on pain. I realised that if there is a supreme power, then it is our duty to become it's moral superior." -Lord Havelock Vetinari, Patrician of Ankh-Morpork

"The sentient may perceive and love the universe, but the universe may not perceive and love the sentient. The universe sees no distinction between the multitude of creatures and elements which comprise it. All are equal. None is favored. The universe, equipped with nothing but the materials and the power of creation, continues to create: something of this, something of that. It cannot control what it creates and it cannot, it seems, be controlled by its creations (though a few might deceive themselves otherwise). Those who curse the workings of the universe curse that which is deaf. Those who strike out at those workings fight that which is inviolate. Those who shake their fists, shake their fists at blind stars."- Michael Moorcock, author.

QUOTE(sharksarentevil @ Apr 3 2008, 12:03 PM) *
i used to love digimon so much but after the second season, it started to suck. the third season was ok but not great. the fourth season was horrible. i believe there is currently a fifth season but i havent seen it.

I'm about here.
I loved the show to death. The theme song of the first season still wanders through my brain at night when I'm bored. I just dont remember now, whether I liked the second season or not. I know I liked the first. But I dont remember whether it was the second or third season I didnt like. After the third, I only watched bits and pieces of things once every blue moon.

I... have never played a Digimon game. They never seemed worth playing for some reason.

Actually Digimon is still quite popular in Japan, it just got shut out by american Pokemon fans cause the games aren't as fun. In my opinion: (in comparison to Pokemon) Digimon had the better television series but lacked in it's games while pokemon's games are alwase one of the most popular out of all portable games while it's television series has slowly become a bit boring for those who have grown up with the original series. (kinda lost it's luster after Misty left without aknowladging that she had "strong feelings" for ash verbaly or physicaly)

I love Digimon and some of the games with a passion. And yes digimon did come first as a boy alternitave to tamigatcho but when pokemon came out they decided to go that route. I loved all the seasons of the anime expect maybe Frointer that sucked but still good stuff overall. My Favorite Digimon if you want to know are MetalGreymon (Virus),Garudamon,UlforceVeedramon,VictoryGreymon, and Kotemon

I always loved Digimon as a kid. The only series I ever liked was the first one, though. The second series was boring. I liked the third one, but it just didn't feel the same. I haven't seen a series after the third one.

I have Dawn and Dusk for the DS, but they're not that great. Dusk was more of a chore than anything to get through the story, and I haven't done anything with Dawn since its just the same game. I loved the first PlayStation game to death though. I'm just depressed that my CD stops working after a certain point. Apparently early copies of the CD were bugged. ): I have never once beat that game.

My favorite Digimon were always virus attributes. Devimon, Myotismon, and Beelzebumon are my favorites still!

I always loved Digimon with a BURNING PASSION since forever, but I must be another one to agree that nothing is quite like the first original season. noes.gif The second was not appealing at all to me, but the third somehow managed to be really interesting, but then the fourth and onward... It was just... Not Digimon anymore, perhaps.
THOUGH I might have to add that I LOVE Digimon Rumble Arena and Diigmon World 3 as well. They're both INCREDIBLE games and for the PS1, too!
So, yes. I love Digimon and I always will. Independent of what I might even try to say, it's a HUGE part of my life. I used to hurry to come home to watch the series in my grandma's house like a happy litlle fan. *-* ( Just like Dragonball Z xD )

tbh, i love digimon more than i do pokemon. it's more mature and developed, and i wish it was still popular over here. :/

i love all of the seasons, even frontier (season four) -- the one that everyone tends to bitch about. that one was my favorite for a while, but my for my favorite seasons, it's a tie between tamers (season 3) and savers (season 5).
