Just a little thing I am curious about. I have many favorite fictional characters, and somehow or someway like a third of them is dead (In fact, I wouldn't mention name as that would be a spoiler but one died recently from a heroic sacrifice) and I got utterly shaken and refuse to continue watching/reading/playing the film/book/game.
Am I the only one? -------------------- |

No, you're not. I get pretty shaken about it as well-specially when watching Star Trek.

Even if my favourite character dies, I force myself to go on. I hate having unfinished series. Even if I'm sobbing hardcore throughout the rest of the show.

I will keep watching, but my interest will be much lower. I watch most of the animes only because I like specific character and I want to know what he is going to do next.

Usually I'm okay with it. Maybe it's because some of the fiction I enjoy is of the "anyone can die" sort, so I know it's always a possibility. I cry a lot, but it feels good to cry over something fictional. I even have favorite deaths!

Initially, it annoys me, but depending on what I'm looking at (video game/tv show/anime/comic), I'll either stop following it or get out a different portion of that media.

I'm more than likely to stop watching/reading if my favorite character dies. It really depends though. If its a series where a lot of people die, I might actually enjoy my favorite character dying in some heroic way.

I cry when my fictional favorites die.
I cried a river when Johnny Gat "died" in Saints Row 3. -------------------- |
