Why does Ash always release his pokemon! omg that was why i stopped watching it a long time ago
Does he ever visit Pigeot like he promised in the 1st season after releasing him??????? -------------------- Every morning, I wake up wishing Ash wasn't such an idiot letting Misty and all his Pokemon go...

No, actually he doesn't...*killed* But when Ash released his pokemon, it created suspence and sadness that spiced up the anime. You should start watching the show again though....He hasn't done anything like that yet...xP

he did it right before he got into sinnoh didn't he? Thats what he always does... Anybody else think Ash is slipping his pokemon steroids? the Pikachu which has gotta be level 50000 by now, especilly since a few times it's been seen eating out of a hugeass bowl of rare candies which apparently aren't that rare after all -_-
Then the pidgey that became a pidgeot before he ever even got out of viridian forest -_- Then the way his Charizard evolved too... Everything he touches turns evolved!!! I am currently watching the Johto Journeys and its really good. I really liked the Orange Islands too and I think I will stop watching after the Master Quest because things totally change...and theres no Brock and Misty.
Note that on episode 133, Ash has a flashback of his Pigeot and he says once again that "someday I will go back there and see my old friend". -------------------- Every morning, I wake up wishing Ash wasn't such an idiot letting Misty and all his Pokemon go...

ash releases his pokemon because his brain got fried by pikachu's constant zapping. I mean, as soon as his pokemon starts to get good, he releases it!
Basic summing up of Ash releasing a pokemon: Goodbye, (insert pokemon name here)! Waaah! *turns around and runs away.* he even tried it with pikachu, but it was like: "hey fool, i aint done zapping you yet!" --------------------  Would you like a Falafel with that? |

Guys is there any Youtube or some other stream video where I may see Ash trying to release Pikachu?
I'm still on the 3rd season but I really want to see that part.

Why does Ash release his Pokemon?
Well let's pretend that Pokemon is real. You have a pokemon who is longing to return to its habitat, raise a family and live a carefree life. If you don't release that pokemon, it is likely that pokemon will resent you for a long time. If you really care about that pokemon, you should set it free if it wants. It always bugged me too.
I don't like how he doesn't keep them, or at least keep them with Prof. Oak. Yes, if pokemon were real they'd want to go off on their own, but still... -------------------- |

Ash is stupid for doing it but if Pokemon were real, they wouldn't want to be shoved into a box in a PC now would they? Or even with Professor Oak... animals like to be free much more than they like to be in a zoo after all

Ash probably gives his 'mon a choice whether they want to stay with him or not, at some point.
Butterfree was happy with her new mate and Pidgeot was sad to see the forest in danger. BUT! I admit that him releasing everyone at the end of each region is pretty dumb.
