GvH 2.0: Godwings v Hellsings

Time, space, both are irrelevant when such paths can be transcended. No world is unreachable. No world is unknown. There are beings, for whatever reason, who are not bound by one secular period in space and time in which they must occupy but are free to travel between the many. Such an abnormality is uncommon, yet, there are those with such a gift. Many have died on their travels, torn asunder by the very gifts which they have been given; a gift which would manifest into a curse. Some have gained control of it and for what purpose, varies. Some live their lives as any other, forced to accept the hand they had been dealt. Some embrace it, causing torment upon others. Two of these beings, born in separate times, yet, whose paths will cross, begin a war between two worlds; a war between two beings, angelic and demonic, in an unsuspecting time in the future.

Annabelle, a trickster, is one of these such beings. She toys with those around her, inflicting suffering and pain, both of which cause her a great amount of humor. During her travels she came across another of her kind, Elaine. Elaine however, was a tortured soul, a tragic being. Her abilities had forced her to lose her home, her friends; everything she had ever known, including her memories. Attempting to control her abilities she settled down in a new world. One far from her own in which she hoped to find happiness. It was here that Anna stumbled across her. Aware of Elaine's gift and their common humanity, she observed her, learning of her triggers and her past. In time she became bored. After all, Elaine had gathered quite a strong control over her ability at this time, having leapt for most of her life. In this way, she was a bore to Anna and this soon became irritating.

Attempting to find pleasure in Elaine, Anna began to play tricks on her, changing the environment and physically affecting Elaine's being. Naturally, this caused concern being Elaine did not know of Anna. She did not even know there were any like her. Elaine thought herself to be the only one in a world of few, perhaps alone. In this way she began to become paranoid, questioning if it were her own powers which were affecting her. In time this was not enough to amuse Anna. She began to increase her tricks, placing her into situations which would cause her harm with the hope that to avoid said harm Elaine's power would trigger and she would leap. However, Elaine was a smart girl and for some time she only leapt through space. In time however, this too could not be avoided. Anna had pushed her hand to greatly and in an attempt to save herself she leapt. Taking advantage of Elaine's triggered power, Anna forced her to leap to a particular world. A world in which a war was being waged between a government and its people and the Gods they had created.

These Gods had first been employed to help the people. To benefit the world in a way in which no human could. They were Deus, soldiers, who healed the sick among other miracles. They were a hope to the people and soon those that had learnt to hate each other became united over a common bond, a common goal. The love for the Deus. However, the government was corrupt and in time a war raged between neighboring countries which inflicted illness all at the hands of the government. With secrets being exposed, the Deus were employed for a second meaning. They were trained, put into squads and released. Their goal: contain the citizens, stop unrest, however; this lead to casualties. This lead to war.

There was one among their ranks, Adair, a young Deus who hadn't shown prosper, who hadn't had a gift of his own. He was thought to be a failure but in time he gained a power. In this war he'd lost comrades. He'd lost loved ones. He'd lost the only people he had ever had a connection too. Those that had fought for him, those that had supported him. His family. In despair and rage, his gift surfaced. The gift of illusion. And his comrades became his spectres, his everlasting guardian, defender, and warrior; all of which gained after the death of a particular comrade. As the war continued and the people settled down, the government overthrown, the Deus were forced to flee. Adair among them. However, pain had surfaced among him. His final spectre, Ivar, had been killed but by whose hand. Confused, tormented, Adair was confronted. There had been another Deus there that day who had seen his fallen brother's death. He was an outspoken Deus who found no fear in his disillusioned comrade and so when the war had concluded and only a few Deus remained, he questioned of Adair the death of Ivar.

Unable to believe and haunted by the possibility that there was truth in the words which he spoke, Adair turned on his comrade, just as he had unknowingly done to his brother. It was in this moment, during this act, that Elaine leapt, appearing just after the first spoken words, just before the first blow. Filled with uncertainty, Adair killed him, his spectres gathered about his form. It would be after that he would notice Elaine, a now cowering and confused being. After all, she had not meant to leap, especially to what horror she had found, yet, she would have little time to think on the matter for Adair was not in his right mind. His spectres were speaking soft words to him, the guardian urging him forward. There may not have been harm in killing his comrade, but there could not be a witness and so bloodstained, he turned on Elaine. Weak from her travels, Elaine stood little chance and although she fought, she was easily overcome. Desperate, she called forth the curse which had driven her in her life and leapt, however; it too was not as she had wanted for Anna had once again been present.

She too had traveled to the new world, watching the acts of the Deus. And when it came time that Elaine would leap, she too would be pulled for when Anna had altered Elaine's destination, both abilities had become intertwined. For even some small fraction, they'd walked the same path at the same time with both of their abilities affecting the leap, which due to its distortive nature forced Anna's ability to be called upon when Elaine called her own. By neither of their choosing, the pair, in addition to Adair, were pulled to another world in which the war between beings would be held. Cast into different locations, others, plucked at random from their respective times and worlds, too were pulled to this world. It mattered not their age or the relation in time. There was no relation between those that had been selected other than each had been pulled from their homes and forced into another.

The leap had distorted time. It had pulled forth those that did not belong into a world of disorder, Neo Gaia. It would be there that these souls would find themselves caught between two forces on the brink of war. The government, affectionately known as God, portrays freedom and safety to its citizens, Godwings. However, their means of doing so are corrupt. Instead of maintaining the purity they promise to establish, Godwings oppress the citizens, dividing them into districts and subjecting them to inhumane cruelties. Those that defy the government represent Hell and so are affectionately known as Hellsings. Made up of beings of all races and types, the Hellsings are a force guided by their sole leader, Kyo, a scientist and traitor to his governmental employers. Unknown to his superiors, he uses his drones to gather Intel which he disperses via drone to his followers. It is in this world, one on the edge of revolution, that these souls will be cast. In this world, they will be forced between the waging wars sides if they have any hope of returning to their own.



Plot:
Neo Gaia is a self sufficient city barred by walled districts. Its purpose remains the same as when it was first built, protect those inside from the virus and those infected by it. By doing so, the citizens of this city are secluded from the remainder of the world. They have no knowledge of what lays beyond, those youngest generations having lived nowhere but behind these gates. All that is known about the outside world is gathered from what can seen atop the walls and while this covers a great expanse of land, ultimately amounts to very little detail. Furthermore, the pursuit of greater knowledge is futile; both human and drone never returning once leaving the outer gate. This, combined with the oppression of the Godwings, has given birth to the Hellsings and the rebellion that is about to take place.

Living in fear of the outside world, the government strictly enforces the danger of the virus and those infected by it. Constantly reminding people of the undying threat, life is but fear. Citizens find distrust in the unfamiliar, the unusual. Life may be bearable and inhabitable but the past still haunts the older generations, driving them to seclusion and hatred. The walls are more than protection but a memorial to all those lost to the virus and a reminder of the war that tore apart their world. Some long for the outside while others wish to remain. Conflicted, driven by a common fear, the Godwings easily manipulate the people.

Made of the upper class, the government withholds resources, keeping the citizens at a level which does not threaten their rule. The outer ring receives the most of this restriction as there is little care for those so far from the capital. They were after all, the last refugees allowed to enter Neo Gaia and so are those thieves and beggars of little trade, despite the years having changed this. Additionally, to maintain their rule, the government emphasizes the disdain between nationality by gating countries within themselves, marking citizens. After all, if attention can be given to the other districts rather than the inner ring, a rebellion cannot form between hated people. By keeping the fear of the virus and the war that followed fresh, those Godwing need not worry about their own safety.

Unknown to the citizens, the government is more corrupt than even this. In truth, there is a district unlike the others known as X in which all those exiled are taken as punishment for their crimes. This district is filled with hatred and violence. It receives very little resources; even less than the outer ring and holds a dark secret. Within this district lives the virus. Contained and preserved, the government lets the virus live on, risking the safety of Neo Gaia. However, even this is of little concern. Due to the gated nature of the city, all that would have to be done is to exterminate one district and there would be no threat to any other. Additionally, such an action, while inhumane, would receive support due to the ever persistent fear of the virus.

The darkest truth, not all sent to the X district 'deserve' to go. Not all are criminals, not all worthy to the test of the virus. There is to an extent that even those kidnapped, adults and children, with no harm are taken from their districts. After all, to receive proper results from testing some sacrifices must be made. Healthy subjects are needed and not always are the scum exiled their sufficient. In this way, the government keeps the virus alive, testing and torturing the subjects. There is little known about the virus afterall and so the physical limitations of the infected are unknown. To those that question the morality, the explanation is the preservation of humanity. With greater knowledge they might be able to overcome the virus but even this is a lie.

Preserving the citizens with false security, the military is made primarily of drones and androids. Using the excuse that a mechanical being will obey humans and cannot be infected by the virus they are therefore trustworthy. In this way the Godwings enforce harsh restrictions upon the citizens, proclaiming their actions for the better of humanity. Additionally, with the use of the drones surveillance of the citizens is achieved, all information collected in Neo Gaia's network stored within a motherboard, Instruct. A drone with the sole purpose of running and maintaining the network, Instruct has little individuality. Access to every security camera and in direct contact with every drone, she is the primary first response for any event; however, she is herself a security risk.

Created with the intent to store all information from the time of the creation of Neo Gaia to the present, her memory capability is extensive and her firewall highly advanced. Directly synced to the network at all times, she is prone to attack by those fed up with the government's oppression. On such being is Kyo, the creator of Instruct. Already possessing a small network of rebels throughout the districts of the city, all that remains is evidence. While the feelings of those supporters of the Hellsings are strong, they are few in number and so stand little chance against the Godwings. Thankfully, Kyo's specialty is Intel and with the help of his drone, Aisha, and hacker, Nikki, gathering and distributing information is highly efficient. Yet, there would be an unsuspecting factor; those plucked from their dimensions and thrown within Neo Gaia.

As those from alternate dimensions find themselves thrown within a new world, they will become disoriented and panicked. The initial response to their arrival will be hatred and violence as well as fear. The people of Neo Gaia distrust the unfamiliar and so the abnormal appearance of some of the beings will ignite the old fears of the past. Fearing the virus, conflict will break wherever one of these beings are placed. Those that appear 'human' will be more easily accepted and will not draw as much question, yet, none will completely fit in although they may try. Catching reports of the these 'attacks', the Godwings will dispatch drones to observe and handle the problem. In addition, the Hellsings will attempt to gather Intel on the matter. When it proves difficult, those plucked from their dimensions seeking shelter, Nikki will attempt to hack Instruct with the advice of her workings from Kyo. It will be there that they will stumble upon the X district. At the same time, Aisha will locate these beings, attempting to discover their nature.

With the citizens thrown into panic and the Godwings on high alert, the Hellsings have the opportunity they needed to launch their rebellion but there remains a new factor. First they must discover the meaning behind the X district and band a force strong enough to take down the Godwings. During this those from alternate dimensions will be forced to adapt to their ever-changing environment. Forced to flee, they must choose a side to end the conflict in this world if they wish to have any hope of returning their own and so the war between Godwings and Hellsings will be born.

In the year 2514 there exists a city known as Neo Gaia. It is both a haven and a memorial instructed with the purpose to protect its people; however, there is chaos within its walls. Ruled by a self proclaimed government, Neo Gaia is a dystopia. A city torn between countries, it is constructed of numerous districts with the intent to suppress and segregate the people. Locked behind these gates breed unrest and poverty. Crime runs rabid in the streets while government eyes watch every move. With little social order, people come to tolerate others but there is strong disdain between districts. Despite it all, the world beyond the outer gate is uninhabitable. Toxic and mutated, the creatures that live there are inhuman and attack any who venture beyond the outer gate. However, it was no always like this.

In 2184 there existed no Neo Gaia but rather countries and cities more common to history. Life was ultimately average, yet, a shadow loomed on its future. It was in this year that a great and horrible discovery was made. A scientist, an American, had created a chemical which when inhaled attached to the DNA of the host, altering it. It was thought that such a chemical might be able to target strands of DNA that held the source information for diseases. Using the method of introduction to teach the body to become resistant to the very disease it is introduced to, the chemical carried the information of powerful and deadly diseases of both the body and mind. Like most chemicals however, there were side effects.

Instead of simply targeting those codes of DNA which caused the disease, the chemical attacked the weakest location and then spread until the host was completely consumed. Not entirely worried, work continued on the chemical. It was common to have side effects after all and if a solution could be found, the world would be that much less dangerous. Therefore, the project was not disbanded. Subjects did however remain animal based, most commonly small rodents. Upon receiving the chemical a series of possible symptoms would arise in the host. Most common was elevated breathing and dilated pupils. From there the host lost mobility control and physically began to alter form. The final stage resulted in the host's loss of all mental capacity and becoming demonic creatures with only one goal, kill anything that moved.

2816: A mistake causes the release of the virus.

The containment of the chemical failed and nearly everyone working on the project, including its creator, became infected and those that did escape locked the infected within the laboratory. Human tests had never been achieved and now that such a large number had been exposed, every precaution had to be taken. In order to decrease the risk of a secondary exposure, the government created a security perimeter a half a mile around the compound, forcibly evacuating citizens within said radius. This naturally drew media attention which led to minor confrontations between the police and reporters. To appease public curiosity, the government announced a week after the incident that there had been a dangerous chemical release that they did not yet know how would affect the surrounding area.

The infected lived within the compound with the assistance of those on the outside. In exchange for blood samples they were provided with basic commodities. Additionally, a report of the day's events were required to be recorded if the infected wanted any chance of survival. Such demands were not unjust and for the price that was being paid, were actually quite unrestrictive. Despite this, not everything was so easily negotiated. With confinement came panic. Social order immediately fell among the infected, those fearful for their lives and rightfully so. What would become of them was unknown and so hysteria grew. In retaliation, the government issued one command: create order or they will be forced to exterminate all those infected. Such a request was un-refucable.

Despite all their preparation, not everything could be accounted for. The environment within the infected community was stressful and demanded cooperation, something which was in short supply. They all knew the symptoms of the chemical and quite often in their panic they mistook them, accusing others of reacting. Leading to arguments and confrontations, there was more than one account of manslaughter. However, there was still hope that there might be some immune to the chemical and so for one month those that didn't fall to madness remained. It was after this time that those infected that were still alive were released from their prison, deemed immune. However, to even this there was a flaw.

Two factors had been improperly accounted for: 1) size and 2) complexity. The natural size and complexity of humans was far greater than previous test subjects and so the duration of time between infection and the surface of symptoms was adequately lengthier. Therefore, within a week's time everyone of the remaining survivors had shown symptoms of their being infected. Before long they were consumed by the infection, becoming the demonic creatures they'd seen in the laboratory. This outbreak would begin a war that would divide the world.

It took no more than a month for news of the outbreak to spread. The chemical was referred to as a virus, an airborne virus which infected the body and mind of any host it came into contact with. As human instinct demanded, panic ensued. Fear of the virus drove people to flee and so try they did. For some time access out of the city was allowed but in time the virus itself spread. There had not been enough precaution and when it proved that small scale containment would be futile state-wide was issued. In this time refugees fled to neighboring states, some even leaving the country all together. News coverage remained as informative as possible, the risk of on location reporting highly dangerous if not because of the virus itself but from those infected by it.

2187: The first case of infection outside of America.

The news of this event only increased the already unstable tension unallied countries created. With this came outside pressure. Countries began to shut out America, refusing to allow transportation and demanding all borders be closed. It was only a natural thought, if they could keep as much of the virus contained in America as possible, perhaps the remainder of the world could live on. While such a thought was for the good of their respective countries, to those citizens within the borders of the proposed boundary it was inhumane and cruel. They countered with pleas and guilt. How could one man turn on another in what they deemed to be a selfish proposition? Afterall, not all of America was infected. Only a small portion carried the virus, yet, in the end it wouldn't matter.

People continued to leave America and with them went the virus. For some time however, the virus remained relatively unthreatening. Its slow speed of travel prevented the virus from consuming large areas, however; due to its lengthy time between infection and consumption a host could walk among the uninfected for a month's time before turning. Due to this, the virus could be easily transmitted between close communities without the knowledge of its existence until the original host succumb to the infection. This led to a repeated series of events. A few would break out in small areas, scattered around the world, followed by a larger breakout, typically the size of a small community. The original host would easily be killed by the remainder of the community once their infection became known. The remainder of the community however, would live on after their infections overcame them being that when this occurred too few of the community remained uninfected and so combating with the virus was suicide.

2190: Large communities of free-roaming infected.

With the virus' spread came greater urgency. Countries began to ally, killing any foreigners, particularly Americans being that was the original location of the outbreak. In time, this led to conflict. An extreme disdain for other nationalities grew while the ties between those of a single country grew. In time, they built walls to protect themselves but by doing so they shut everyone out, not only the infected. Those non-infected, feeling as if they were being abused, despite the same treatment was what they were doing, began to fight with one another. Small countries felt unrepresented and attempted to seclude themselves while larger countries allied, attempting to include everyone possible. Yet, this led to threats.

Countries argued among one another. They threatened to invade, to use weapons of mass destruction. Some even threatened to capture infected and release them within the gated cities. The shear thought that one country would go to such lengths was thought to be madness and so quite often they quarreled. In time, the world was at war with itself. Driven to madness by a virus they had never meant to create. Yet, it was in this madness that Neo Gaia was born.

2195: The inner wall is completed.

Starting as a small circular city, Neo Gaia was a safe haven from the outside world. It covered a great deal of land, allowing enough space to house the citizens of numerous large cities. It was within this wall that people took refuge. Entire families of all different nationalities attempted to buy payment into Neo Gaia. However, access was difficult to acquire. Despite the expanse of land which the city covered, there simply remained too many people for its walls. Therefore, only those who could afford the luxury of such safety were permitted entrance. This led to Neo Gaia becoming a colony of the rich, as the inner wall would come to represent in its later years, the upper class.

2207: A new wall is built around the inner wall.

In time the virus spread and with that came greater demand for entrance into Neo Gaia. However, not everyone could afford the steep prices that had been put into place. There existed a fault in the acceptance system though. Those that had been allowed into the inner wall typically were of little trade and so creating a stable, familiar environment had proven to be somewhat difficult. Especially due to the fact that not enough farm land had been set aside to feed the population of the inner wall. And so, there was demand for land as well as safety. Due to this, a new trade was made. In exchange for labor to create the next wall, those workers and their families would be allowed residence within this second ring.

Naturally this was widely accepted, despite its unfairness. And so the second wall was created. Just like the inner wall it was two stories high. It may have seemed unreasonable at the time to have them such a great height but it was a precautionary measure, afterall, it took at least one month for a human to succumb to the virus and so there was time to create a proper defense and if possible, find a cure. Therefore, dedication was given to every act to create the grand city that Neo Gaia would become. With this came a sense of community and safety.

2300: The outer wall is complete.

In the years between the creation of the second wall and the completion of the outer wall numerous rings were made between. Each had the intent of allowing more people to enter the city while also providing enough land to gather enough resources to accommodate all of the people living within it. Additionally, within the rings of the city were additional walls which divided the city by country, districts. Some were as large as states, small countries or simple cities. No matter the size, each was important.

People felt very strongly about their nationality and wanted to preserve the ties which bonded them. Additionally, many had grown distasteful of foreigners, often looking down upon them if not attacking them on sight. Americans had the hardest part of such encounters. Most were immediately hated by everyone due to the simple fact that the outbreak had originated in their country. In some way, others blamed all of those from America as having been the cause of the outbreak and the disorder which followed. While this is not true, the hatred which lies in the hearts of some is too great to overlook such facts.

Within time however, some wounds are healed. Every once and a while an outbreak would occur. It would be a small number if not just one who showed their infection and all those who did were quickly killed. In time life became somewhat normal. A government arose, a self proclaimed government. It was made up those upper class that resided in the inner wall, the original citizens of Neo Gaia. They led the city in the way they thought best which included the segregation of its people. Tensions between countries were still not fully healed and by containing groups of people within their gates, if the virus ever penetrated Neo Gaia, it would be easy to eliminate the source before all of the city was overrun.

Taking up the act of 'God', the government established a system of rule and in time life became bearable, almost normal. Enough land was provided for farming, enough resources available for every citizen. While it was true that those in the outer ring were of a lesser class and were treated as such, there was no denying that they too received the proper resources to accommodate their lifestyle. And for a number of years people became accustomed to this new way of living, barred behind the walls that protected them.

With time passed the generations and soon most forgot about the war that had pitted the world against one another but some did remember the virus that started the conflict. Abnormal creatures, abnormal behavior unsettled people. Everyone was forbidden to leave the outer wall, even what became to be the military of the city. And during this time life began to return to the way it had been. There still existed greed and crime but the fear which had driven the people before had begun to subside. The government took great measures in this time to perfect the city but by doing so the freedom of the people fell.

Technology advanced and drones replaced humans, forcing people to take whatever lines of work they could find. Such drones were used for everything and anything, including the military. There was a problem with using a force which did not require subsidence or payment as humans did in that they rarely had any sense of individuality. The drones were used for single purposes, including the surveillance of the people. With this came the infringement on privacy and its relation to security. Unrest surfaced and with it returned the dysfunctions of society.

2514: Present day...

Neo Gaia consists of numerous rings and districts, each divided by nationality. The inner ring is comprised of the upper class with every ring radiating from it progressively less in class. In addition, the rings are separated into districts comprised by the largest nationalities. The walls are all two stories high, making it impossible for a human or creature to climb and contain numerous gates that connect one district to another. These gates are guarded by both drone and human, depending on the gate. They are rather difficult to gain access between, requiring a specialized VISA and even this is difficult. Therefore, it is not often that anyone other than drone or someone from the inner ring travels between gates. While the below are the major districts they are not the only ones. Others include the Irish and Latvian District; both of which are small as their respective countries had been.


-Inner Ring:
The Inner ring is the inner most wall of Neo Gaia. It was the original city which housed those who could afford entrance into the city. Comprised of the upper class and the government, rarely are common citizens allowed entrance into this ring. This also suffices as the headquarters of the Godwing and the 'motherboard' of the cities network of information and technology.

-Asian:
The largest district is the Asian District. It became so due to the events of the war. Being America had been the primary power house prior to the war, when the virus spread and disdain grew for Americans, countries such as China took advantage and established themselves as the new, dominate power house. In order to sustain this new dominance, many Asian countries followed suit and allied with China, creating a sole country in a manner of speaking. These ties persisted during the creation of Neo Gaia and so the main district became the Asian District.

-American:
The American District is an average sized district; however, is it the least friendly to live. Due to the disdain that grew for America during the war, this district became the dump zone for Neo Gaia. Being blamed for the war it seemed only natural to put such hardships. After all, it was almost a gift to accept Americans into the city at all. Due to the great numbers of pollution found in this district the air is practically toxic and so everyone living in the district is required to wear gasmasks as a means of protection.

-Japanese:
The most technical district is the Japanese District; however, it is rather small. Much like the country had been prior to the war this district houses most of the creators of the drones; however, this is not the only location in which they reside. New inventions and common based technology are widespread throughout this district. Due to this the citizens of this district live relatively average and well lives, the inner ring having a great deal of need for this district and its evolving technology.

-Inferus:
The Inferus District is an underground district unknown to the government and most citizens in general. It is a slum that lives by the morality that the strong survive and the weak die. This district is very tough to live in and is where citizens go when they have no other place to go or when they are kicked out of their own district if they are lucky enough. Quite often the crowd here is unfriendly and violent.

-X:
This district, the X District, is a secret to all citizens. It is a district created by the government to house the virus and all those x'd out of society. Those exiled from their districts or kidnapped by the government are placed within this district for testing. It is just as dangerous if not more than Infernus what with the virus running rabid and those locked behind its gates forced to survive by any means possible.

-Allegiance:Adair's alignment could be described best as neutral. Having been forced to a particular side throughout his life, he rarely has known any other side that what was meant to be good while in reality such side also was bad. Taught that such actions were meant to only help the people and that by turning against them they were bettering the future in that it would enlighten the people to the error of their ways. While this sounds to be a noble cause, the truth of the matter was that they had been used as a weapon to oppress and if needed, destroy, the mob which had grown against the government. Filled with lies, that ever contradictory name, Deus, he has fought on both sides at the command of another.

This being said, his alliance would be neutral being that in such a situation he would be unknowing of which side is the proper side to fight for, having always been instructed in the past. He does however have some sense of understanding, feeling a great deal of connection to his comrades. Due to this he will help anyone he becomes close to, regardless of what danger it may put himself in. Despite this sense of nobility or honor, it is simply put that he is disillusioned. While reality may consist of war, his mind will be confused. He may fight, may take and deliver blows, but he may not realize the full details of what is going on around him.


-Abilities: An illusionist caught within his own illusions, Adair is unaware of the power he possesses. He lives within the illusion he has created through his times in the war, an illusion which keeps his comrades near despite their deaths. It was too great a blow and so he does not believe those comrades to have died, to have left. Filled with sadness and regret, he calls to them, willing them to stay, to not hate for the pain they feel and so the world is but an illusion crafted by his own being. It is different to them and to the world, they different from it.

Caught between two worlds, that of the next and that of the last, he believes his spectres to be the souls of his comrades, to be his comrades. Seeing them as they had lived and not for the demonic apparitions that the outward world views them to be, he calls to them by name, blissfully unaware to the illusion in which he lives. Such an illusion is incomplete though. While he views and believes the spectres to be his comrades the simple fact that he possesses their 'tags', those given to each Deus during the war, implies their deaths. Yet, he does not believe such things. To be awoken to the illusion, to break the fragments of the life he lives, is painful and frightening. While to live in such an illusion is tragic it allows him to remain happy, despite the war, despite the hate. No matter what changes happen to the world around him, as long as he has his spectres, he is happy.

Taking the form of demonic beings, the spectres are viewed to others as blackened figures or shadows with bright red eyes. There are three difference spectres, each representing three different comrades, which he has created. Being that each are in reality projections of himself and not the actual souls of his comrades, each spectre takes a purpose: Guardian, Protector and Warrior. The guardian is a small spectre with large, curious eyes. This spectre is nearly always floating about his figure, always watching. The protector is a devilish spectre with three eyes cut into slits. This spectre appears in times of danger and acts as a form of defense. The warrior is the largest of the three spectres with two eyes. This spectre appears the least and acts as a form of offense.

Each spectre appears as a demonic apparition which floats about his being, most commonly to either side or behind him. Even when no spectre is present, which is minimal due to the nearly constant presence of the guardian, black wisps follow his footsteps. They trail behind him, wrapping about his figure when motionless, however; they are minimal in size and neither distort or hide him from view on a large scale. The wisps are simply a constant reminder of the spectres he possesses. It is from these wisps that the spectres form, rising from within their darkened depths, hovering and almost looming over his frame.


-Equipment: Adair's illusions service as his weapons. While his illusion is selective and only expressed through his spectres, they are capable of causing harm, despite their less physical appearance. Each spectre remains in a gas like state while simply trailing behind him but when used in such a manner as a weapon, the warrior being the primary spectre used in such a purpose, its frame is manipulated into that of a solid with more identifiable appendages. Prior to combat situations the spectres are simply clouds or phantoms with only their eyes as identifiable body parts. In combat situations they maintain their lower appearance, while gaining wide grinned mouths and clawed hands. In this state they are capable of physical harm.

While the warrior and protector to the majority of the fighting, leaving the guardian to mentally conduct him, he is capable of hand to hand combat, although such a task is difficult for the attacker as it requires them to draw quite near to his frame and so his spectres as well. Due to this he rarely has to delve into combat situations himself, the protector guarding him while the warrior attacks. It is during times of combat that the guardian may not be present but one should not believe that the guardian is ever truly not present. Despite it not physically being present, the guardian is always watching through his eyes. Never is any one spectre truly gone. Each are always there, always by side.


-Appearance: Standing at 6'3" with an average build, Adair appears normal in all respects, save for the yellow color of his eyes, in comparison to any other male. Youthful, as his age would suggest, he is both attractive and well defined. It is this average or normal appearance which distracts one from the quality of his mind, that which is trapped within his illusion. In all respects un-unique, the truth to his being is not suspected or even imagined at a single glance, the only physical oddity being his eyes and the possible presence of a spectre. Otherwise, he appears little like the male that he truly is; one who has seen the face of war and fought among now passed comrades. Hidden behind the facade of his illusion, he can be appear normal despite his situation and the life in which he has lived to get there.

Less broad chinned that most men, he appears more childlike, although, this should not be acquitted to being childish in personality. While he may be disillusioned to some things, he has seen quite a number of other things which have strengthened his resolve and fashioned him into the man he has become today. Physically capable of holding his own, he is well built for hand to hand combat, although he rarely participates in such activities being that in the past he either had some form of gun or now has his spectres which suffice as proper weapons in such situations. Having witnessed such things as death, he is a hardy soul, despite his spectres. Strong in terms of physical demeanor and committed mentally, he is a warrior, trained by the best.

Covered in a thick swab of bright blonde hair, his eyes have a sort of matching quality that almost seems to make them blend with one another. Similarly, there is a sense of cohesion between the two that is often created through the matching of same or alike colors or patterns. Sweeping to each side, his bangs are outgrown, collecting to either side of his face, although, particularly towards the left. A single clump adorns the center of his forehead while the remainder is left bare in a sort of upside down V shape. Those bangs that are swept aside hide his sideburns, that which are small, and extend to the end of his chin, reaching a few centimeters past. The remainder of his hair follows this same sweeping pattern with the crown being towards the left side of his head, a small cowlick in the center.

His upper attire consists of two layers, that of a shirt and a jacket. The undershirt is dark red in color and has a high swoop neck which runs from the base of his neck, covering the collarbones and shoulders. Short sleeved, cutting roughly a few inches beneath the shoulder, it is both comfortable and loose in material. Form fitting, it is mostly concealed beneath the jacket, only a small portion at the top being visible. This jacket is also red in color although brighter in comparison to the shirt. Lined with black on the inside in addition to a cuff that is roughly two inches in width, it is simple in fashion. Sleeves cutting just below the elbow, it bunches slightly, being moderately larger than his frame requires. The hood is rather large and fans about his neck, the inside being clearly visible. Adorned with a silver zipper, black draw strings, and two stomach pockets on the bottom front, it is a jacket which is both casual and nice in quality. In addition, the left shoulder is adorned with a series of black squares which when overlapping the jacket create a sort of checkered pattern.

His lower attire is just as simple as his upper and much like his hair and eyes, is complimentary of one another. Consisting of a simple pair of jeans and tennis shoes, it is casual in style. The jeans are form fitting around the waist and bottom of the leg while being slightly less so between said locations. They are black in color like that of the jacket and are tied about his waist with a silver belt. Tucking into the tops of his shoes, they are forgiving in terms of maneuverability. His shoes, which like one would imagine are red and black in color, are more for comfort that looks. Black along the sides with red toes, laces and tongue, it matches the remainder of his attire with only white soles and a small patch of white on the lower top of the shoe being the exception.

In addition to this all to casual attire which does nothing to suggest the warlike situations he has fought within, are a set of three tags. Each of these tags consist of a silver plate with identifying details of the one who wears it. Such details include name, age and power. As one would expect, these tags were ways of identifying those Deus who perished during such events. Such a thing was practical to some but to younger Deus it was frightening as it was a symbol of their approaching death. Surprisingly, none of these tags belong to Adair, having lost his during his days in captivity. The three belong to his spectres: Lynne, Elda and Ivar. This is the greatest break in his illusion as it is a physical reminder of the truth of reality, however; if questioned upon the matter he simply denounces such a thing as being a possibility. Convinced that his comrades have not gone, it is such questioning that can break the calm facade he displays.

Each tag, unlike most tags of wars of the past, are not fashioned about the neck with a metal chain but are instead incrusted into a leather band that ties about the wrist. Being the plate is one inch in width, the band is two. Wrapped about the wrist with a simple belt, they were meant for identification and so not for comfort. Regardless, he would never be caught without them. Wearing them on his right wrist, as most Deus did, his comrades follow in line in the order in which they passed. First is Lynne, whose band lays the lowest on his left wrist. Elda's band is fastened just above her's with Ivar's following behind, him being the last of the three to have taken death's hand. This creates a sort of imbalance, all three being on one arm rather than on both and so leaves his right arm bare.

There are two reasons to the placement of said bands: one being that his comrades had fought together and had died together. Despite their souls being long lost, they will never be separated from one another and so each band lays next to the others, always one unit, one family. The other reasoning for each being on his left arm is that the band a Deus is given upon deployment, their personal band, ties about the right wrist. Being he no longer possesses his band, to place another there is to almost take the identity of the band's owner. It is also symbolic. Being in possession of his comrade's bands he is never parted from them and so can live within the illusion that they still live. However, being that he is not in possession of his own band indicates not only a dying of himself but the lost nature in which he now resides. Having lost his name, he has lost a part of himself, and so as long as he has their bands, they will never become lost.

As one might think, war leaves marks upon not only the mind but the body as well. Being no exception to this, he too has scars upon his being. Their location however is restricted to one general region due to the close style of his fighting and the events which took place during his capture. This location is that of his lower arms running from his wrist to just below the elbow. Covered with numerous scars, it makes extensive hand to and combat painful, despite their relatively well healing. Being that the left arm is covered by the tags and being that none were made for comfort, his wounds on this arm are more susceptible to pain. In fact at times they bleed, never having healed fully. This however is not a huge concern to him for it is almost like the blood of his comrades, fighting alongside him, despite the distance.

These scars are the only physical marking of the war he has. To most people of the more common life, they are surprising and so those of combat understandable. While they may cause questioning it is a subject he is willing to speak upon, however; if requested to remove his bands at someone's concern for his being, he will not do so willingly. For removing them is almost a departure that creates the possibility of them becoming lost. Despite his spectres being more important than the bands and not his comrades in 'spirit', the bands themselves are equally important. Although they may have been given for a bad purpose and may have frightened many, himself included, it still remained, they were a name, a part of each comrade which owned them.


-Personality: Adair is a moderately troubled soul. Having lost comrades throughout the days of war, he feels pain and regret, yet, he is happy. It is the illusion, the one crafted from his own mind and placed upon himself, which keeps him happy. While under the nearly unbreakable and permanent illusion, Adair feels safe. Having created three spectres: the Guardian, the Protector, the Warrior, his comrades remain at his side despite their deaths so long ago. Each was part of his family and each he loved so greatly that the truth of their deaths was too hard to bare. And so, the spectres were crafted from their wondering souls, although only portions of Adair in actuality, each serving as a representation of one of the three comrades. Each with a purpose and 'personality' much like they possessed in life they are safe. In addition they allow Adair to be save with their guidance and strength.

Lovingly, he speaks to the spectres by name. Overjoyed, he smiles, he jokes. It is as if the world is in order and at peace. His spectres fill the holes in his heart and allow him to forget the tragedies of his life, the tragedy he now willingly lives within. There is a sense of uncertainty however. There are breaks in the illusion which cause him to question but it is then that the guardian speaks her wisdom, easing his heart. His reality is his illusion and reality the illusion. When pressed he is uncertain, confused. To learn the truth after a lifetime of lies is not easy and it is in such a situation that the spectres echo the questions. It is then that he becomes frantic. Unwilling to let go, he can panic, can become violent. His spectres are his reality and any opposition to such a reality is unwanted and unworthy of the question they ask.

Trailed by the guardian, he speaks with her as if a friend. She is wisdom and offers compassion when there is none to be had. The guardian is the strongest of spectres in terms of the webbing of the illusion. It is the manipulative words of this spectre which guide him, keep the illusion alive. And while firstly strictly a kind spectre, with the evolution of the illusion and the conflict of his mind, the spectre too speaks words of evil. She is a two edged sword, a silver tongue, a two-face trickster but to Adair she is nothing but Lynne. The Deus who was a mother to him, who saved his life. She is love, a home, a family and he treats her as such, always speaking to her, regardless of what about. The keeper of secrets, the guidance is his inner thoughts, the memories of Lynne, and the illusion's base.

Happy to the point of almost being lighthearted, the past can be spoken of, the war not a subject too sensitive to touch. Therefore, he can socialize, can connect. He is human and desiring of company. Never wanting to be alone, he clings to those around him, valuing them greatly. Each is a precious piece to the illusion which must be preserved. In this he is overprotective but loving. Rational and irrational, he is both good and bad. Happy, despite the life he lives he is both tragic and worthy of affection. With no clear loyalty, he does as must be done. Whether to preserve the illusion or the lives of comrades around him, any action is a possibility, even those of less nobility.

Unknowing of the extent of his illusion or even the fact that he is trapped within an illusion, he believes others to view his spectes as his comrades would have looked in life. Therefore , the surprise or concern of others confuse him. They are but his family, not the demonic apparitions which they appear to be. All but erasing any memories of their death's, they are living despite their absence. With such an illusion there is no longer a need to beg, to cry. They have never left his side and never will do so. In that there is comfort and warmth. In that there is prospects of a future, of a life worth living, and so he presses on. Each day is perfect without a single sadness. All that occurs is necessary and so unreversable. There is no need to fear any longer for with his spectres there s nothing left to fear.

Having lived a life dictated for him, any sense of freedom is joy. To have the right to pick and choose is empowering. Due to having been locked in the facility for most of his life, the outside world is so different, so mysterious. It is intriguing to him. Overwhelmed with curiosity, anything that is different is puzzling and worthy of observation. When offered a choice he naturally would pick both, each being equally new and so exciting. Yet, having lived a life of difference, he understands those who are different themselves. Each Deus was a family member by default but anyone who showed kindness was a friend. Life needed to be happier than the war made it and so he looks past the events of the present, overlooking that which he does not wish to see.

Therefore, he creates the illusion to protect himself from the pains of reality. It allows him to look past his actions and so not feel the pain which should come along with them. Instead he can be happy despite the abuse and the days of war he'd seen. Working in a manner which affects himself the most, the illusion appears differently to himself and to others. It also primarily only has a metal affect on himself, with only a physical affect on outsiders being the voices of the spectres are in his head rather than actual spoken words. His illusion grips him and while such a thing is saddening, his happiness is hard to miss.

The spectre known as the guardian is the representation of his fallen comrade, Lynne. She was a motherly figure to the younger Deus and a light that would shine in any darkness. Caring for each Deus and loving of all, she was a kind soul unsuited for the confrontations of war. It is her ever watchful eye and wisdom which creates the guardian. It is both a manifestation of her being and Adair's general desire to be like the comrade which cared for him. Seeking the guidance she offered in her life, he wishes to never be parted from the comrade that while was not biologically his mother took the role. Wishing to remember her smile, her soft voice, he speaks to the guardian with love. Always kind, never harsh, the guardian is wanted and appreciated. It is most painful if the guardian comes to harm, calling forth the truth of reality as such an action tugs at the strings of his illusion. The guardian is the voice of wisdom and the gentle hand in times of pain. Always present, always watching, she is the sense of family, the bond between him and his comrades.

The spectre known as the protector is the representation of his fallen comrade, Elda. She was strong minded and defensive, the Deus unafraid to challenge and to stand up for others. Wishing to lessen the burden on her comrades, she offered advice and friendship. A shoulder for any who needed it, she took blows for others, protecting them from harm. Unafraid to sacrifice herself for the better of her comrades, she fought till the end. It is her strength and resolve which creates the protector. A manifestation of her being and Adair's desire to learn from her sacrifice, she surfaces in times of danger. Wishing to feel protected from the pains of reality, the protector offers security, reassurance. He speaks to her with respect, her unyielding resolve inspirational, her sacrifice noble. The protector is sacrificial and will defend at any cost to herself, willing to take any blow, any wound. A barrier from the outward world, she maintains the illusion, destroying anything which might break it.

The spectre known as the warrior is the representation of his fallen comrade, Ivar. He was a role model, an elder brother. Calm in times of danger, strong in battle, he was a threat to those that opposed him. Respected and looked up to, he did what must be done, regardless of the pain it caused. Truthful and at times morbid, he lived with eyes open, facing reality as he saw best. It is his determination and strength which creates the warrior. A manifestation of his being and Adair's desire to continue his legacy, he is the most deadly spectre. Fierce in combat, unyielding, he fights to save all that has been lost. His cause is noble and his actions honorable. Only wishing to provide what he could for his comrades, he fought with the undying desire to succeed. At times overwhelmed with anger the warrior is troubled but never disrespected or dishonored. The warrior fights rashly but with cause.


-History: World History: In the far future, 2146, there exists a world built around numerous greeds: appearance, intelligence, and power to name a few. All of these greeds stemmed from the beginning of time, from jealousy, but over the twenty-first century the increased in phenomenal proportions. In the end, nothing was more important than these greeds and so naturally crime became outspread and even in some places tolerated by the law if the law wasn't behind it in the first place. It had become a mad world filled with deception and lies.

The peak of the conflict was in the 2060's when advanced breakthroughs were made in the development and manipulation of DNA in unborn children. It had been possible for a number of years to affect the gender, eye color, and hair color of these children but now it was possible to alter other physical aspects, such as height and weight to a degree. It instantly became common belief that an unborn child's entire physical being could be manipulated and crafted into the ideal appearance. Naturally, demand for the new treatment spurred a baby boom and with populations on the rise, living space became cramped. With this overpopulation came the spread of disease and the need for greater technology.

The high demand didn't increase the output however. The breakthroughs in DNA were fairly new and could not be applied to curing disease. In fact these diseases that emerged were only somewhat manageable and treatment required a great deal of payment, something which most did not have or only had just enough. With this division of money, the lower and upper classes became more distinctly different than they had ever been while the middle class disappeared all together. It was a chaotic world, filled with jealousy.

Many crimes spurred from the money gap and in 2071 a mass murder took place as a political attack against the upper class. This of course drew great anger from the law enforcement, most of which were part of the upper class. Regardless, murder was not tolerable, not yet at least. Truthfully, this was the spur of the civil war and a world war which would later follow. Naturally, many lives were lost, most due to untested biological weapons, weapons which hurt both sides and had lasting effects. To be honest, it was these weapons which ended the war but not because they allowed one side to overpower the other but because they hurt everyone so much that fighting any longer would simply wipe them out entirely. And so with the closer of the war in 2093 half of the world's population had perished for various reasons such as starvation, disease, and murder but if these didn't claim one's life, suicide was the greatest killer.

The world spent five years trying to rebuild with little luck but it was in 2097 that a miracle was born. Ever since the beginning of the DNA breakthroughs in the 2060's testing had been done by the government in an attempt to altar not only physical aspects of unborn children, but mental aspects as well. The hope was to make people more intelligent but also to rid the world of diseases believed to be associated with the mind regardless of present or dormant at birth. Their first few attempts, using stored embryos, were no different than any other human or were horribly unstable. Using surrogates, they tried to raise each hopeful embryo the way they would have been if they had been crafted as nature had intended. The problem was that almost all were stillbirths and those that weren't were terminated at young ages.

Once the war had broken out however, surrogates could no longer be found and testing was put on hold. The world which emerged from the war no longer could sustain themselves but desire the same greeds which drove them to war. Hiring surrogates with the promise of pay and the child if testing was successful, infertility highly common due to the biological weapons used during the war, testing resumed. Unknown to the surrogates, when a subject was successful either they were kept a secret from their 'mothers' or their 'mother's were disposed of.

The subjects were unique in that although they weren't overly intelligent they possessed skills that were extraordinary, skills unheard of in people and fantasized by youths. Despite their extraordinary gifts, they were highly unstable. Most subjects hurt themselves accidently if they didn't kill themselves or others. These subjects were born with excess mental stimulation, a form of energy, which when applied to atoms, such as those that make up their own being or any other being or object, unbelievable changes occurred. These changes ranged from using the spark of energy created when atoms have excess energy in order to create electricity or to provide the necessary energy needed to cause atoms to duplicate.

Scientists saw great uses for these subjects but there was a slight problem. For one thing, these people stood out with their yellow eyes, a color not even they could influence. It was a mutation in their DNA which could not be corrected, regardless of how many embryos were tested. The greatest problem was their unstable behavior. Subjects from birth to two years showed minimal activity in terms of affecting the world but increased mental stimulation. From four to seven, the excess energy of the subject would react violently with the subject, making them unable to control their actions. After this was a brief lapse where minimal activity returned until the subject was nine, when they began to have minimal grasp on their ability, gaining moderate mastery at age fifteen and complete mastery at twenty-one.

Those subjects which survived their younger years became highly valuable and those that were twenty-seven or older were allowed to enter the world, under supervision of course, in order to help the rehabilitating world with the first being in 2097. Subjects were divided where they were needed best, whether that was in hospitals fighting against the onslaught of disease or in the workforce, trying to reestablish what the war destroyed. Regardless of their profession, by 2102 they were common knowledge and highly sought after.

It became the belief that these people were gifts from the Gods, whichever those may be, who could cure any disease or grant any wish. Those who survived the war or were lucky enough to be born after flocked to institutions where these people, which they nicknamed Deus after the Latin word for God or Deity, were located. There were many theories about where these Deus came from. One highly believed was that they were government secrets, a notion not that far off. The other common belief was that they weren't even human and so didn't 'deserve' the treatment of a human. It was people like this who kidnapped them. They felt that they really weren't doing any harm and with how chaotic the world had become, people wanting to return to their lives as they had been before the war despite it being impossible, and it was actually quite easy to get a Deus away from their handler.

With these kidnappings, although all Deus were older than twenty-seven, came the demands for money, one of the numerous undying greeds. The government paid what they could, taxing the citizens, when stakes were too high. Otherwise they tried rescues, some leading to the death of the captured Deus. By 2115 the world had almost nearly recovered and fully would do so in 2122. The divergence between class reappeared and people returned to lives similar to those they had had prior to the war. The only difference was the importance of the Deus.

Their gifts could heal wounds, grant beauty, and bestow years of life. Most learned to respect them, those who saw their importance, those who were the minority. The majority seemed to simply put up with them, yet, when the first Deus died of natural causes at the age of forty, a middle ground grew between the people in which they mourned his passing in 2123. While he may have been the first on record to have died of natural causes, this Deus was not the first. There had been numerous Deus who had died accidentally or had been terminated. Those others, those the public didn't even know about, had lived in small rooms in a government facility. They were the first. Only those lucky enough had been numbered and documented. those were the Deus the public knew.

With the reaction of the passing Deus, scientists saw a window of opportunity. People, who normally would have had nothing to do with each other, had united under one cause, the Deus. If they had so easily tossed away their disagreements over this one being, could it be possible to rid the world of hostility through them? It was a farfetched hope and due to the low life expectancy of Deus, due to their abilities, it was a hope that would have to be acted on quickly. Using whatever methods they could, the government got the people to love the Deus and so when the next died of natural causes in 2135, the reaction to her death was even greater. The Deus had become a part of their lives. They were beings which people looked up to, peopled aspired to, and so their loss was tragic.

It wasn't long before disease struck the world again. Cases of the most horrendous and horrible things had been common since the end of the war with some areas still uninhabitable, even after so many years, but most of it had been handled. With the help of the Deus, life with the disease was prolonged or made more durable. Complete cures were rare but certain Deus had the gift to do so, such as the first Deus. However, when the diseases of the past struck again, the same chaotic demands arose. The people expected their government to take care of them and when they wouldn't they rebelled. People had grown tired of their treatment, of their wasted lives. The Deus had united the people into a family but the disease had united them into an army.

In 2140, the single government which governed all of the world was overthrown. What chaos ensued after was almost too horrible to bare. A power struggle began, with greed driving people to try to take command, none of them able to do so alone. However, due to the overthrow of the government, it was only a matter of time before secrets were discovered. The first was that the Deus had been created and employed by the government, two things which had already been under speculation. What further information that was discovered not only shocked the people but angered them beyond belief.

The government had not only been lying to them but had manipulated them, even more than simply installing their love for the Deus. For one thing, they'd been killing Deus without telling the public, before they'd even known about their existence. They'd held the Deus in their facilities, allowing them a moderate lifestyle. Furthermore, back door deals had been made during the war and taxes implied which were only needed to inflate government pay checks. The darkest of all was they'd had a possible cure for the biological diseases for years but never gave it to the public. Out rightly angered, every official unable to escape perished at the hand of the people.

Seeing this future unrest, despite the war having ended so many years ago, the Deus had begun training in combat. The government would install love in the hearts of the people for the Deus and then use them to kill the people when they rose against them. It was a hateful way to fight and a hateful life implied upon the Deus. They began training in 2137, when the disease returned and the rebellion began. With only a few months of training they were released in small units as simply a cleanup crew but it soon became violence which were their actions. The Deus had been loved but also abused. They'd lived well enough lives, serving the people they were meant to protect, but when unrest drove the hearts of those that had loved them the only answer was the bloodshed which followed.


Personal History: Born in the same manner as most Deus, Adair came into the greedy world with nothing and no one. His biological mother and father are unknown to him, such information having been deemed of no importance to him. The woman who carried him also is unknown. While in some file packed away in a box or perhaps on a computer disk lays such information, it is restricted and never to be viewed by unauthorized eyes, his own included. This is not unusual though. No Deus knows of their origins and while each goes through a phase in which such information is thought to be desirable, none acquire it and with time it soon becomes unimportant. After all, in such a place as they were in such information would provide no comfort. It was not a promise of love of a family. With their family being their comrades and the few handlers who actually thought them human, there was no need for an empty promise such as that.

Therefore, at his birth he was taken from the woman who carried him. She would be hurt as the loss of any child is to one's mother. They'd told her he died and that the birth had gone wrong. It was not an uncommon method of acquiring a Deus without their surrogates questioning. It is in times of question that not such light actions can be taken. In such cases the only alternative is to dispose of the mother. It certainly wasn't the most humane way to handle such a problem but the Deus in general weren't exactly humane. Each were created to better the world with little thought to the comfort and care of them. Most held such a mindset when the first Deus were born but many hearts swayed as they began to grow.

Born the forty-fourth 'successful' Deus, Adair began his life with only a number. All Deus were given a number upon birth each beginning with two zeroes, making Adair's birth number 0044. It was when a Deus turned seven, when the most violent stage of their powers had passed, that they were given a real name and the two zeroes were dropped from their number ID. This process took much longer for Adair and at times it was uncertain if he'd ever be named a success. Due to his seemingly nonexistent powers, he was thought to be normal and so a failure as far as Deus were meant to be. Intended to reveal his power at age four, he was allowed to live much like the others. Each child was cared for properly until such an age and then contained for the following three years. If the child survived to seven, they were cared for again if not, then they were erased. If a child was too violent, they were terminated and while Adair was not violent his lack of power did question his purpose.

A Deus was created with their powers in mind. Without them, they were no different. They would be a normal child with only yellow eyes as an unusual quality. Adair appeared to be normal. As a young child he seemed no different. After all, very few Deus had shown their power as a toddler but it was when he'd been moved to containment that it became suspected he had no power. He seemed no different from any normal child and due to this it was questioned to whether his existence was necessary. Without the prospect of future service, he had no purpose and certainly couldn't be allowed to live outside the compound. Deus were just being introduced to the people and so it couldn't get out that there were more. He was a risk and so at age seven, with no indication of a power, his termination was scheduled.

It was only a week after his seventh birthday when he was taken to that room in which no Deus returns, still without a name. He'd been sentenced to termination, his files prepared to be destroyed. There was no need for him and so he was to be erased but it was at the urging of a young female Deus that took question to such an action. Her name was Lynne, a seventeen year old at the time with the power to manipulate earth. She would become the glue which held their band of comrades into a family and it was at her questioning that her caretaker along with Adair's would question his termination. It took some convincing but two things changed his fate.

Deus were not fully understood, not even to the scientists who created them, and so it was suggested that his power could simply be dormant with the prospects of great strength upon arrival. While such a thought was beneficial, it also was farfetched, although, a Deus born without a power was equally as farfetched. It was the second proposal, although unfavorable to those trying to save him, that ultimately changed his fate. The proposal that while he may not have powers he is like the Deus in looks and so could either be used as a replacement for public appearances, limiting the damage if he were to be captured, or as a pre-tester for applications to the actual Deus. With both propositions favorable, he was given the name Adair and returned to life like his comrades.

Despite their differences, all Deus were housed in the same facility with only gender dividing them. It was there that he met Lynne, Deus number twenty-four, as well as Elda, number thirty-one, and Ivar, number twelve. His life from there was confusing .Different from his comrades, he felt as if he did not belong despite their kind words. He felt it unfair that without a power he was not subject to the same tests as his comrades. His instruction was different and at times he felt that his comrades were jealous of his fortune. Without a power he'd not gone through mistreatment, training, or those years of torture as a young child. He'd never felt such pain and yet he was one of them. This he felt unfair due to how he cared for his comrades, how he loved them.

To see them return from their work tired and beaten pained him. He only wanted to help if to not share the burden with them. Trying so hard, he tried to discover his power, to trigger its awakening. Such actions gave his caretaker great trouble but she treated him well enough. She was forceful with words but she was never harsh. However, she was never a 'mother' to him either. While she was kind it was her duty not her love which drove her. No, the only person who ever could be considered a mother was Lynne. She was not the eldest of Deus but she was wise. Those younger looked up to her what with her happy demeanor despite their situation. After all, many a time a Deus did not come home and in that there is little happiness.
Their days were very routine. The eldest Deus would be allowed to leave the facility along with their caretakers, although, what specifically allowed to do once out was restricted. Most were assigned to locations which their powers would be most beneficial, however; sometimes it was simply public appearances which demanded their presence. Rarely were they allowed the freedom to go as they pleased and such times only being granted by kinder caretakers than a direct privilege. Those who must remain behind often question what the world is like beyond these walls. Such stories create mixed feelings. The nicer of Deus are vague and avoid discomforting events while others are blunt and unafraid to portray the world for what it truly is.

Adair, being too young to leave the facility, remained behind with all those who also did not leave. Some trained while others completed tests. It was very mundane and of little care. Still, without a power, he watched as those Deus he grew up with left each day. It was a relief when they returned each night but the process was the same and the risk returning each day. Yet, it became harder as those he cared for most too were taken. While it would not be till he was seventeen that the first would die, he was twelve when the first came of age, Ivar. It was his absence each day of this Deus, his brother, which worried Adair. A number of Deus would go out each day and all would return on a good day but there were days in which one or two did not return. Although they weren't told right away, the absence of a single Deus was enough to know.

It was this fear that the older Deus who seemed to know so much about the outside world and who promised to train him when his power surfaced which drove Adair to silence. He'd pace the halls, his caretaker hobbling after him on her heels, with not even watching the Deus train as comfort, a pass time which he often did. Natrually, Ivar knew this and did his best to keep Adair from worrying too much. While such actions were indeed helpful, it was Lynne's concern and general motherly like attitude which helped the most. While she was approaching her own coming of age and so was required to train each day, she spent most of the remainder watching the youngest of Deus, those just receiving their names, and following Adair. She truly was a mother to all Deus but she gave a particular liking to Adair due to his difference among them.

She offered kind words and a smile that could cure any sadness. Both beautiful and loving, she fit her role perfectly. Every Deus felt sadness when she turned twenty-seven and so left the facility with the others. There was happiness in the thought that each Deus would take care of any other, her included, and so while there was worry, as there always was, it was manageable. It was naturally hard but Lynne often brought back small items she could manage to sneak back into the facility with her. Ivar helped her as well and soon the younger Deus had not only stories but items of the outside world. All were intriguing and created happiness, however; life outside was beginning to become unsafe and it would be only a few months after her coming of age that Lynne did not return.

It was a hard blow to all the young Deus, each realizing her to have been their mother, but it was this pain which would awaken Adair. Unknowing of what had happened, he pressed those that watched them, demanding answers. He even questioned Deus, searching for any explanation. She had been more than a mother to simply him but it was her words which had literally saved his life so many years before. Lynne had been his guardian, the angel of wisdom, and a soul not fitting of her young death. Overwhelmed, despite Ivar's and Elda's support, he created the spectre and so the illusion was born. It had started small, simply a hovering haze which in time developed into the demonic apparition which would come to serve as the guardian.

Concerned for Adair, him having become secluded and talking to the spectre as if Lynne, Elda, who was two years older than he, took greater interest in him. She and Ivar went about questioning him kindly, what with him in such a delicate state. Ivar even got permission to give him Lynne's tags as a physical piece of her, an action which he hoped might ease Adair's mind. That was exactly what their effort did. In time, Adair returned to life as it had been before although he still spoke to the spectre as Lynne. It was concerning but it was a trivial matter to scientists with the discover of his power. Even if he seemed somewhat out of his mind, he had a power and so the only objective was to discover the qualities and extent of them.

It was hard at first. The scientists wanted to start their investigation right away but they could not due to the state of his mind at his powers' arrival. While such a thing was unfavorable it was understandable with the lateness and trigger of his powers. Regardless, when he seemed to return to normality, he joined those Deus approaching their coming of age and those training. No longer did he remain behind with the youngest of Deus or roam the halls with little purpose. He had a purpose and that pleased him so greatly he didn't mind the work he was forced to do and with the unwavering presence of the guardian, his pain for Lynne's death too disappeared. In fact, he almost forgot about it all together. It was moderately concerning mentally speaking that his illusion was an illusion even to himself but it was the application of his illusions which overweighed concern the scientists had.

Truth be told the state of the world outside the facility was growing hazardous and it would only be a short period of time before such a power would be needed. In fact, it would be shortly after he turned nineteen that all Deus, regardless of age, would begin an extensive three month training program. When completed, they were sent to combat with their first objective being simply crowd control. It was brutal and for those never having been outside the facility, Adair included, was a shock. While many things had changed so quickly, it was not the world in which the Deus had been told about, but it was the world which they were meant to protect.

With that in mind, Adair too fought. He hung close to Ivar and Elda, Ivar being greatly experienced due to his greater age and Elda for the nature of her power and her support. Being the guardian fought little he used weapons to accomplish his tasks with the guardian offering wisdom. It was these words which allowed him to overlook the things he'd done, the battles he'd won. It was also such words which tried to calm him when the illusion began to crack. Each time someone had questioned, had tried to talk sense to him about the illusion, the guardian would offer words of kindness for it was when the illusion is breaking that Adair's disillusion too breaks. Being exposed to the reality of it all, he become confused. His illusion is what keeps him sane, its presence causing happiness. It is in such situations that he is most prone to violence and the questioning of his illusion. Then the guardian's words are demonic, false truths.

Regardless, working with the other Deus they held back the mobs and hunted those threats to the government. It was naturally quite confusing for the people and the Deus. They used to love each other to an extent but now they looked to one another with hatred. Called only when needed, not full upheaval having occurred, they rarely were seen during the day, yet, the risk was always present. With that in mind, it was when Adair was just about to turn twenty that Elda was killed during a riot. She was only twenty-one herself but she died in the most honorable manner, by sacrificing herself to save a fellow Deus. It was a death befitting of the manner in which she lived and any Deus would be accepting of such a death, however; Adair was different. While he had been present at the riot as well, he'd not been on the front line. His purpose was to observe and watch the Deus as they worked, only stepping in when absolutely needed.

However, at the time of Elda's death he was with her. After all, with her defensive power and his intimidating spectre, they were meant to protect their comrades and persuade little violence on the part of the people. Therefore, when Elda took the blow for another Deus, a blow which cost her her life, Adair saw. Naturally, he froze. He'd grown close to her. She'd helped him when Lynne had died and she equally helped the other Deus. A defense to others, without a defense of her own, her death was stripping. Running to her side, she was gone. With her death came the second spectre, being engulfed with the all too familiar pain. he would have remained at her side despite the still enraged riot going on around him much like she had, much like Lynne had if it were not for Ivar. He drew him away, the guardian becoming violent as it fed from Adair's growing rage.

The passing months were hard for both males, although, Ivar held his composure in front of Adair. He felt anger for her death and compounded with the still lingering pain of Lynne's death as well as the other Deus that fell along the way, Adair's spectres became more important than ver. The illusion had grown in strength, the chains stronger in bonds. He would not believe those he had loved could have died, not after what they did for him, for the others. A guardian, Lynne kept them strong. A protector, Elda kept them safe. Without either there was no clear answer, no obvious path, no resounding choice. Life without them was too hard to imagine and so their souls, their beings, became the demonic apportions, the spectres he loved, cherished. They were real, were what he needed. The world was just an illusion, trying to change him.

Deep down he felt anger for their deaths. He felt as if they were undeserved, incorrect. Possessing the desire to avenge, he trained with Ivar as he had promised so long ago, but, even in this was an illusion. His desire to fight was not to do harm or to cast revenge on those who had killed Lynne or Elda. This desire stemmed from protection, from love. If he trained, if he made a purpose for himself much like the other Deus, if he could only fit in, he could be a part of the family. Yet, the world is different, and he different from it. An illusionist caught in his own illusion, comrades defied death an in that there was happiness. It didn't matter what lengths he had to go too, how many he had to kill, if only he had his spectres, if only they were safe, he was happy.

Yet, with time comes change. During these months unrest had grown. The people were close to total upheaval and they soon would discover the truth of all the lies they'd been told. With this came patrols, watches. Often picked for roles rather than getting to choose themselves, rarely were Ivar and Adair together. This was a concern to Adair being he feared without him by his side, much like his spectres, he'd be in risk of danger. If only he were one of his spectres, then he'd be safe. Such a thought crept its way into his mind from time to time. Whether it was the guardian or simply him is unclear, yet, he could not forget it. It was a thought that lay outside the illusion for such a thought, such a proposition, was to admit the origin of his spectres, that of the death of his comrades. With such a thought came the increase in the haze which wisped from his figure, as if another spectre were about to be born.

At the age of twenty-two, during a nightly uprising, Adair was captured. Due to the nature of his power, he'd been assigned to an area alone, being capable of defending himself with the protector if needed, however; what the scientists did not know was that alone he was weaker. Without a comrade in need of protection, he would only fight himself and without spectres. The protector was not meant for such a thing after all and the guardian, twisted in words, rarely fought. Therefore, with the right timing and force, he could be captured and that he was. However, those who took him made a grave mistake. Having thought they'd gained a bargaining chip they took him to the other Deus, using him as leverage to end their opposing protection of the government. While in most cases this would result in such a bargain due to the care for Adair's safety, such an action put his comrades in danger and with that even the guardian would fight.

That being said, the uprising was pushed back, Deus able to regain their ground and Adair to join them. It was successful but it had taken the guardian to break its oath, to fight although with noble cause. His comrades were important and so he killed, killed to protect but there were casualties on both sides. Ivar, a warrior beyond any other's strength, had fallen but to whose had was unknown. Adair had been there, had watched. It was a memory he would later suppress but he'd done it. He had not forced Ivar into the situation which put his life at risk but upon trying to save him, he killed him as well. If accident or on purpose, he does not know. All that mattered was that he was safe, that never would they be parted once more. And so, the third spectre was born.

The following two years brought about the fall of the government and the revelation of its lies. The Deus, who were well known and feared instead of loved as they had been, were all but disbanded. Some had escaped while others still served. Adair struggled with where his loyalties lay but he knew as long as he was with his comrades, both those dead and living, he was happy. He worried about his fellow Deus but he found comfort in the words of the guardian. With the three it mattered little what he had to do. He could be happy with the knowledge they were safe, regardless of where they were. War had become simple, a pass time worth little thought. His family was all that mattered, despite his past, despite the mistreatment. He was happy, an illusionist caught in his own illusion.

-Other:Lynne (Guardian) Appearance: Lynne stands at 5'7 with an average skin tone and youthful appearance. Her features are often warm and friendly, representational of the motherly role which she plays. Her eyes, yellow of that of the Deus, reflect curiosity and general kindness. Each glance is loving and filled with affection. Framing a smile that could melt any saddened heart are thick waves of dusty brown hair. Her bangs collect to either side of her eyes, collecting on her forehead and covering her ears. The portions on the side are longer in length, reaching to her collarbone, while the remainder of her hair is tied into a high ponytail which reaches to the middle of her shoulder bones at its longest point. It is very light in terms of weight, often being referred to as having an airy quality, and is unkept but attractive.

Her attire is moderately revealing, leaving her midsection exposed, and is primarily white in terms of color. The top consists of a simple piece of white clothing which wraps around her chest. Beneath it, as a form of support for the chest, is a silver belt with dull orange trim and two buckles along the front, one to each side. Attached to the top of this cloth are black strips of cloth which run over the shoulders and create a cross shape in both the front and back, a single cloth running around her neck much like that of a necklace. Tied about her upper arms are two golden bands with a single, thin black strip in the middle. A few inches below this is the tops of her gauntlets which consists of a long, brown fingerless glove which extends to a few inches above the elbow. Tied around her arm and attached to the top of her hand are sections of metallic armor. They are silver in color with a gold trim on the top, each tied about her figure with a light brown belt.

Her lower attire consists of a dull orange, red skirt that is longer in the back with a pair of black shorts beneath and brown boots. The skirt is loose and so grants quite a bit of maneuverability. It is its shorter length which creates the demand for the shorts, which cut two-thirds down the thigh. Over this is a belt much like that found on her upper attire that wraps about her waist. Tied to each hip are sections of armor layered much like those found on her arms, being similar in design and appearance. Her boots are large in nature, adorned with various belts along the length of her leg, cupping just about the knee, the top fanning in an increased size.

Lynne's general power was centered around the manipulation of earth, particularly matter such as rocks rather than plants. Despite this, she fought with a rather large sword that was nearly as tall as herself, being able to grasp the hilt even with her arm extended outward from her body. The weapon itself is designed in a rather technical manner, mimicking the time period of her day. Created through the numerous overlay of panels, which were various colors of black, grey, gold, and blue, it is heavy in terms of weight and strong in terms of durability. A weapon that is slow in nature while dealing devastating blows, it is often wielded with two hands rather than one.


Elda (Protector) Appearance: Elda stands at 5'4" with pale skin and a small frame. Her size is odd for the purpose she plays as defense but it is in fact not her physical qualities which dictate her role but instead her ability that of projection, which when applied can be used to create barriers. Often a little too overprotective and wary, her features are often tense and observant. Always on the look for danger, she is never fully calm, a quality which echoes in her yellow eyes. Framing her face in a very loose and somewhat elegant style is her rather dark black hair, which is thin in nature. Cupping around her chin, it flips forward at her shoulders and wisps about her forehead. The remainder, being that her hair is long, is tied with a golden ribbon into two ponytails or buns, one on each side of her head, that fan out from their base. In general it has a bouncy like quality to it, easily being affected by the surroundings around her, and looks both attractive and simple in nature.

Her upper attire consists of an orange vest and black over coat. The vest is very low in terms of cut in the front, however; whatever might be revealed is covered by the coat. Being very form fitting, it is attractive and cuts into a single V shape at the bottom. Running length wise are darker orange, thin stripes with black buttons running along the inner two. The coat is robe like and is charcoal grey in color. It reaches to just above her knees, trimmed with a golden border. The sleeves are baggy and fan about her elbows while the front is fashioned with an ornate orange clip that ties to the right side of her body. This tie creates a V shape in the front of the coat, calling to mind oriental garments.

Her lower attire consists of a pair of shorts, stocking like pants and shoes. The shorts are very short, trimming just one-third down her thigh, and fan slightly about her frame. Beneath these are a pair of charcoal grey pants that are form fitting and are tied with a series of black buttons on the outer edge of her upper leg. They disappear beneath the shorts but remain over the tennis shoes, gathering slightly. Her shoes are primarily black in color with an orange heel and golden laces of similar coloring to the remainder of her attire. With grey soles they are both efficient and complimentary to the remainder of her attire.

Being that Elda's main role in terms of combat was that of defender, she rarely needed to be offensive and so did not carry such a prominent weapon as the warriors. Instead her weapons of choice are small daggers that are both easy to carry and effective in terms of damage. They are relatively new and in good condition due to the lack of use they have received. To be honest, most use they had was during training being that during combat a warrior often accompanied her as to protect her when she could not do so herself. While it is somewhat odd for a defender to have someone to defend them if needed due to the sacrificial style of her defense it is actually quite helpful.


Ivar (Warrior) Appearance: Ivar stands at 6'7" with pale skin and a calm demeanor. Often calm and unwilling to become overly involved in trivial matters, his gaze is overlooking and almost distant. While always mentally present within a location, he tends to wonder, his mind always at work. Concerned with only matters of great importance and greatly involved in such manners, he is cold to those that fail stand up for their comrades and harsh to those that oppose them. This is most noted in the numerous scars which adorn his body, particularly one on his chin and two beneath his left eye. Much like his ability, that of ice, his attire and hair are 'cool' in nature. In fact his hair is free flowing and bright blue in color, fanning about his face. Covering his ears and collecting about his forehead, it is simple and unkept, a single long ponytail running from the bottom middle and extending to just below his hips.

His upper attire is much like his ability would suggest, warm and fitted for cold weather. It is primarily dark blue in color with black as a secondary color. It consists of a coat and a pair of simple leather gloves. The coat is dark blue with thick black trimming that is in addition trimmed with a thin, white trim. High collared and left open in the front, three belts connect each side, brown in color with silver buckles. In addition, on each outside of his torso are two belts of the same design that serve only an aesthetic purpose. Lining the inside of the collar, wrapping about the shoulders, and lining the cuffs of the jacket is a thick layer of white fur. The cuffs are quite large in size, fashioned with a single silver button, and trimming just below the elbow. Fingerless, brown leather gloves adorn the lower portions of his arm and are made of numerous panels tied strapped about his lower arm by a pair of simple belts.

His lower attire consists primarily of a pair of pants, leggings, and boots. The pants are black in color and fan about his upper leg, tucking beneath the boots. Over these is a pair of leggings which tie about his waist and thighs. They are made of a dark leather similar in style to that of his gloves and cover most of the front of his legs and hips. Attached to the back is a small almost cape like piece of clothing that is similar in design to the jacket, dark blue in color and trimmed with white fur. The boots are primarily black with a rather large cuff at the top which is trimmed in black and white strips. Located just above the ankles is a ring of fur that serves as the divider between the upper and lower portions of the boot. The lower portion is completely black in color and is adorned with two pieces of armor, one lying on top of the boot and one tied about the heel. In addition, running along the front of the boot is a criss cross form of lacing that is dark blue in color.

Ivar, playing the role of warrior, often takes the head of combat. He was both a commander and a strong minded comrade to his comrades. Training those younger than him, he was a role model with a reputation which lives on despite his death. Fighting without remorse, calm and yet fierce all at once, he was a force worth fearing. Relying so strongly on his ability he had no need for an alternative weapon and so did not use one. Quite often he would move about the field, assisting whoever needed it while remaining head of command and a driving spirit for his comrades.


Original Concept for Adair:
A creation of another's mind, he was made to heal, to protect. One of many, they were a family despite the war. Those older were sent to combat, not all returning, but never were they gone. Their shadows remained behind, faces gone but still given names. They were his friends, his family despite their deaths. Guided by their words, even though such are simply his thoughts rather than their lost souls, he plays the fool, unknowing of the events around him. Happy in the face of sadness, he does not comprehend the deeds he has done, the battles he has won. He is but a small part in the master hand, left to his own devices, his demonic yet friendly apparitions, he is an illusionist trapped within his own illusion.

-Abilities: Instruct's abilities cover many fields due to the extensive line of operating she works for; the motherboard of Neo Gaia. Due to this, her internal working is highly advanced and allows her the capability to perform her role efficiently and without failure. Such programming grants her the memory and ability to access data from even the beginnings of the city and therefore she serves as both an encyclopedia and historical reference. Additionally, her constant and direct synchronization with the cities network grants her access to all cameras and drones working within the network. By harnessing these connections, Instruct can not only see what these machines see but also issue direct communication with them.

Her ability to issue command grants her some level of authority over the common place drones that walk about the cities streets. In this way she is an android of a higher level who which has been instructed with the protection of the city. Directly in connection with the network's cameras, Instruct is the first to see issues of concern and so acts as the first response, transferring Intel and dispatching the proper response to the location in question. Therefore, she possesses knowledge of the cities defenses and has the authority to issue their service wherever she see fits. In this way, she almost plays the master hand in the government's actions.

Due to the extensive and secretive knowledge which Instruct possesses, her firewall is extensively complex. Running on a multigrid program, hacking her mainframe is rather difficult without prior knowledge of her system's make-up. In copulation, her ability to counterattack is quite impressive. Able to detect a threatening source, she quickly can respond, closing down necessary drives if she deems doing so adequate. Her failsafe for a crucial hack is a complete system shut down followed by a recalibration process before booting up again. During this time that Instruct would be offline, however, a great number of the cities technology based mainframes too would be hindered, particularly all access to governmental mainframes.

Her ability to 'hack' and access data from nearly every mainframe grants her a nearly complete and extensive knowledge of the city and its occurrences at any time. Additionally, it allows her to replace faults in her programming, such as her inability to process visual components of reality without the assistance of an outward force. Possessing the ability to communicate with drones privately due to her speech pattern, she is able to communicate more effectively and faster than any human. In this regard, machine to machine interactions, she is superior to that of humans; however, physically she does not compare. With a fragile exterior, Instruct was crafted so that if harm were to come to her chamber she could 'live' on even if her body did not, as long as her cores were intact. It did not even matter about her drives or any other processing. If harmed, all data is simultaneously uploaded to an external source, therefore, preserving it.


-Equipment: Created with no intention of ever leaving the compound in which she is housed, Instruct possesses nothing save her programming. Meant to serve one purpose, she was created without AI as to keep her judgments un-swayed by emotions. Instruct's sole purpose is to record and preserve Neo Gaia; nothing more. therefore, she owns nothing, has nothing. She possesses no skills in weaponry, no knowledge of life beyond her compound. Completing her secular purpose, she possesses little strength of heart or mind. Void of individuality, she is a machine who was created for one purpose and one purpose alone.


-Appearance: Standing at 5'3", Instruct is both functional and practical. While her frame is humanoid, her workings are mechanical; as are her attire. Being of human appearance, she is of greater quality and craftsmanship. Additionally, the quality at which her mainframe operates is of the highest durability and most up to date technology. This is greatly important due to the position which she was crafted for and currently still holds, that of the 'motherboard' for the network of information spanning form the beginning to the present day of Neo Gaia. This position requires a great deal of processing and cataloging of information, skills which her mainframe easily accomplish.

Design with functionality in mind, her form is humanoid for familiarity purposes; however, it is incomplete. Additionally, due to the location in which Instruct would complete her job her outward exterior is weak and of a lesser quality than drones that would be seen out in the streets. In actuality, her frame is quite fragile, being strongest at the most outward points, the limbs. With no intent to ever allow Instruct to venture into the outside world, there was no need to build a durable exterior. Due to this, her interior became the primary focus of her creator and so it is compact and realistically manufactured.

Constructed with a simple shape in mind, Instruct takes the form of a female. Her feminine like attributes however, are either nonexistent or ultimately irrelevant to her overall design. With pale skin and white hair, she could almost pass for an actual human if it were not for the remainder of her form. Truth be told, with some alterations she might be able to pass off as a cyborg but doing so would be rather difficult. Built for one purpose, she contains only the essential components to her job. This primarily includes an extensive hard drive with a large expanse of data space, a fast processor, and formidable firewall. These components allow her to directly sync with the cities network and download or upload at free will. Storing all information, she acts as the cities motherboard.

Instruct's attire is both practical and functional. Her upper wear consists of a simple elastic, almost spandex like, cloth cut into a high collared one piece. It serves only one purpose and that is to cover her mainframe in a way that humans deem acceptable. The only unique quality to this solid black colored suit is the name Instruct written vertically in white along the right side of her torso from the hip to just below the chest. Additionally, running from the mid upper arm and over the tops of the fingers, is the same black elastic. These glove like pieces of apparel serve no purpose other than aesthetic.

Wrapped about the center of her hips is a ring of hard drives shaped into interlaying triangles. These drives are primarily black in color with a white two pronged tooth at each base. Surrounding each drive is a thin tubing of LED lighting which glows magenta when Instruct is activated. This ring can rotate around her body on a central access, allowing her to access any of the eighteen drives at any time. Therefore, when processing large amounts of data this ring is nearly constantly turning, pausing briefly to access a drive. When a drive is accessed, a series of attachments flash blue, indicating the transfer of data. These attachments are located behind her hips and are shaped somewhat like bird feathers. They are not attached to the ring of drives and so do not spin on the same axis.

Attached just beneath these feathered attachments is a corded tail with a USB like tip. It is black in color with a magenta ring just above the USB port and a magenta insert. This tail is constantly attached to the general mainframe of the city, allowing data to be transmitted directly between the source and Instruct via this USB cord. Therefore, Instruct is literally synced with the cities network at all times, being she never is inactive. This allows any and all data to be processed at any given time of any given day. Instruct works around the clock, twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, three-hundred and sixty-five days a year. With such restrictions she has little practical knowledge and experience with people or spaces beyond her chamber.

Her legs, which are the major oddity in her humanoid appearance, are the location of her power grid. From half way up the inner thigh to the extension of her leg is a black metal which serves the purpose of protecting her fragile core. Trimming down the span of her leg, her knees are simple joints and her feet nothing more than a simple needle point. Primarily black in color, they are highlighted by two circular bands around the upper thigh. The uppermost contains two gem shaped attachments just like those found on the back of her hips. The trim of both bands are infused with the magenta LED found about the ring of drives around her waist. Located just below the knee are two magenta oval shaped components which serve as Instruct's power core. Without these two orbs, she would cease to function.

Due to the slender nature of her legs, by retracting and extending her tail accordingly, Instruct can navigate a series of panels by touch via her needle like feet. Additionally, her horned like headpiece, which is black in color and magenta on either side, projects displays which she can directly interact with via her hands. In this manner Instruct possesses the capability to easily and efficiently interact with the cities network in a multitude of manners. This allows her to remain observant of the events currently taking place regardless of which district they be in. Question to her overall functionality is hardly necessary due to the nature in which her system functions, causing every location infused with LED to glow a dull magenta hue. This includes a ring about her neck and three rings each about the lower portion of her arms.

Instruct's sense of sight is limited to that which she can physically touch and read via her processing. Afterall, with only the need for a high level of mental processing there was no need for Instruct to visually see. Therefore, what sight she has is simply data gathered from syncing to devices around her. Despite this, Instruct physically does have eyes. They however are illuminated magenta, much like the remainder of her being. Their actual visual ability is extremely limited, primarily data being gathered from external sources such as cameras and other drones. Cross referencing this with data from Neo Gaia's network she creates a depiction of the world around her, allowing her to see.

Her ability to speak is hindered by her processing which due to her capability to issue written commands via the network forces Instruct to speak very little. The tone in which her voice registers is highly computerized and high pitched, although not to the point of hurting the ears of the listener. Due to her literal meaning of words her phrasing is straightforward and contains very little unnecessary information. This is due to the often need for her to issue commands, which must be done quickly and precisely. Additionally, the tone of her voice is that which it is due to her ability to communicate with other drones in a language of coding that is mutually understood. This common language improves her ability to access mainframes within New Gaia's network.


-Personality: Without the inclusion of AI, Instruct thinks very little, feels very little. Despite her form, there is no being, no life, within her frame. She is a shell which covers the computer inside. Serving one purpose, she does as she was programmed. Cataloging, analyzing, hacking, restoring...preservation. Her objectives are simple and essential to the prolonged existence of Neo Gaia. What individuality lies behind these circuits is very little. Not meant to feel or understand as humans do; meant to judge without doubt or regret, Instruct follows protocol. She does as she has been told, adapting only when necessary and to even this there is a list of suggested responses. Every move made is written and so she is nothing but machine.

Yet, she does possess a mind of sorts. Programmed to follow instruction, she takes facts literally and so speaks in a literal tone. She does not understand lying or sarcasm, finding such traits counterproductive to her installation. Instructed to locate and proceed with the easiest and fastest means of response, she does so adequately. Processing knowledge of nearly anything and everything, she often recites details to herself, knowing very well the secretive nature of said information. Her instruction to hack sources of the citizens in order to gather Intel causes her to be ruthless in her pursuit of knowledge, more often on the offensive than the defensive. Due to this, she can be very cold and serious in person, knowing no other way of acting. While it is true she has observed citizens with their emotions and seen depictions of the world beyond her chamber, she does not understand the practicality of it. After all, her purpose is not to understand but to record.

Locked within the walls of a solid white chamber, Instruct has never set foot into the world she watches over. Almost acting as a guardian, she attempts to preserve the way of living which the city is accustomed to. However, due to her programming, the world which she wishes to preserve is not the world which she believes it to be. Thought to be preserving the happiness, she aids the government in its desire to oppress the people. Without the proper knowledge of right and wrong, she does not see the cruelty or wrong of her actions. In actuality, she sees herself to be doing good if nothing else. Setting her life aside, she works for the better of mankind, although her doing so may be shadowed and riddle with lies.

Despite this, over the two-hundred and fourteen years Instruct has been in service, she has come across numerous forms of AI and during these scans has absorbed and copied some of said programming. Therefore, she understands some basic emotions and often attempts to seek knowledge on all matters. After all, her primary programming is to collect and redistribute information, therefore, her goal is to seek all knowledge she can, including such things as emotions. Due to this, when no portion of the city demands her attention, she observes the numerous cameras located throughout it. This is her primary source of human interaction and constitutes the basis of her knowledge of society. The complexity of such creatures as humans causes her to collect anything and everything she can on the species. In this way she has a sort of curiosity for the world she has never entered.

Having never left the confines of her chamber in all her life, she possesses no fear. Programmed with the capability to defend and counterattack, she foresees little threat to herself. Not even does she deem the scientists who deconstruct her as being threats. In truth, her personal memory is often cleared as to prevent such things as AI developing. She is but a tool of the government, maintained only for their purposes. Her attempts lock information and record her own workings are often blocked, resulting in scans and minor mainframe adjustments. Her purpose is to function exactly as is intended, without fault.


-History: Instruct, or a form of Instruct, has been in existence since the completion of Neo Gaia's outer wall two-hundred and fourteen years ago. She started out as a simple computer within the inner ring which held files about things such as the virus and the cities construction. For some time she remained nameless and contained only this kind of data but as technology advanced and time passed ,her role would soon evolve. With the need to preserve not only knowledge of the virus but the developing city, upgrades had to be made to Instruct's internal workings, adapting with the advance of technology. Increasing her memory capacity and overall functionality, she soon became to be one of the most advanced and well maintained machines of her time.

In 2303 she received a proper name, Instruct. It was at this time that a military was forming and while quite a large number in its ranks were still humanoid, the introduction of drones had begun. Unable to have numerous scientists, the creators of the drones, at hand to issue commands, all drones were put into a central network. It was Instruct's job to maintain and command the force, granting her the name due to her profession, Instruction. Despite this naming, she remained the same 'lifeless' machine she had been for the past few years and it would be until 2356 that she received any form of humanoid shell. The time between resulted in the enlargement of her mainframe while maintaining a familiar and less personal form.

The form which she took in 2356 was barely humanoid and resembled more of a skeleton than an actual person. In this stage of her development she was an incomplete form, still physically attached to the remainder of her mainframe, being there was only small development in the area of compacting such large amounts of data. Due to the fifty-six years of records which Instruct had access to, her development began slowly before surpassing most other machines of her time. Additionally, advancements were partially slow due to the fact that a scientist was only ever allowed to work on Instruct once. By continually changing her manufacturer it made it difficult on the following scientist as the hands of another required deciphering; however, such a measure was taken to insure that no one person had extensive knowledge of Instruct. Therefore, a number of years would pass between upgrades, allowing for the location and hiring of new scientists.

in 2400 she received an additional physical upgrade in addition to her mental upgrade. This consisted of removing the bulky database and storing the cities network directly within Instruct. However, while her outward appearance hid improved from that of a skeleton she remained an ungendered shape of the human form. Additionally, her function and the preservation of the data which she contained were directly interlocked requiring one to function in order to maintain the other. With increased pressure from outward sources, attempts to hack Instruct growing with the release of her existence, there would come a need to separate these two functions. This modification took place in 2434 after a major hack threatened the cities network.

An outside party attempted to place a virus within the cities network so that when Instruct scanned it the virus would be recorded in her mainframe. To some extent the virus did as it was intended, copying to her mainframe and then attempting to access the requested data. However, the virus disrupted Instruct's programming causing her to send a signal which drew the attention of the scientists who overlooks her functioning. In order to counter the virus and preserve all data, Instruct had to be deframed and an anti-bug uploaded to her core. This was the primary driving force in upgrading her firewall and creating a mainframe which separate her core from the cities records, allowing Instruct to lock an intrusion within her mainframe and then power down, protecting the records.

In 2478, Instruct received a close outward frame to the one she possesses today. Locating the data records and frame separately from her personal core, she took on the appearance of a female cyborg. Final adjustments would be made by Kyo in 2507 with the advancement of her internal processing and completion of her outward appearance. This was the last time in which Instruct was modified and therefore for the time being Kyo possesses the most knowledge of her internal workings. This will only last until the next scientist takes his place and upgrades Instruct, repeating the process. In this way, Instruct contains the identities of numerous craftsman and so has become one of the most valuable drones to the government not only due to the knowledge which she possessed but also the level of quality her mainframe consists of.

-Allegiance: Elaine's alignment would be best described as a forced villain. She is definitely not the hero being she has done little for others but she also does not consider herself to be purely evil. Yes, she is villainous, after all, she has committed acts of violence ranging from physical intimidation to murder on numerous accounts but each account was forced in her mind. At the times she was not sound of mind, nor had she been for most of her life to be truthful.

She is a very tortured soul and so can easily be moved to violence, however; whether or not she actually wants to commit such acts is questionable. In most cases she is too far gone to realize what she is doing or to even remember such events happening in the future. Therefore, whether or not she is purely evil is debatable. She certainly has committed evil acts and to most that would be enough to consider her a villain, however; the simple truth is it is unclear. She can play the villain and has done so in the past but the question is, is she the villain?


-Abilities: Beyond her control, Elaine's ability centers around time and space, particularly the process of leaping through them. It's not an easy ability to control or predict, often triggered by unpleasant or dangerous events and only predictable by a few seconds due to the ghostly, red aura that surrounds her just before leaping. Due to this, it is impossible to be prepared for when or where she will leap from, let alone where or when she will leap to. Therefore, living lie is moderately difficult being that each time she leaps there is little certainty that she will ever return to the same time and place she'd been before, meaning that each leap is a sacrifice in which she must lose all that she has gained.

Such a thing is hard, to constantly lose, and she's taken quite poorly to it to be truthful. It doesn't help that leaping in such a manner is not exactly healthy for the body, particularly the mind. Therefore, her mind is moderately weak, although in part this is due to how poorly she has adjusted to the whole situation. Each leap damages her ability to recall memories and so over the years she has forgotten much of her past which is both good and bad at the same time. Thankfully, she has come to terms with many of these issues and has gained moderate control on her ability to leap through time and space, however; at times she still leaps without her control.

Being able to control it is highly advantageous though, especially since the only hint to others is the red aura which surrounds her. Otherwise, she can move through space in a single time and even across time without others knowing and within a seconds time. Each leap is dangerous in addition not only to her but to others. She can easily take items with her and so there is a possibility of people becoming trapped in her leaps as well. Additionally, each leap causes harm upon the paths she walks, distorting time and space and twisting them. The red aura is a curse, which when controlled she can altar space through but with everything there is a price to which is her life, her sanity, and its predictability.


-Equipment: Elaine's primary weapon is that of a simple short blade knife. She had stolen it many years ago from a pawn shop with little intention of later using it as a murder weapon. To be truthful, she didn't know why she'd taken it but taken it she had done. It was a simple knife too, not one of great value. The hilt was black, wrapped with a durable cloth as to hopefully prevent the wielder from causing harm to themselves when using the blade. The grooved edges also added to the blade's usability factor, allowing one to hold the blade firmly with little energy. The blade itself is silver in color and extends five inches from the hilt. The edges are smooth rather than toothed and durable in metal quality. To be truthful, the blade itself is very average save for a small hole cut into the base of the blade.

In terms of equipment, she carries little other than a few personal items and the various nick-nacks she has collected over her travels. Most of the items that fill her pockets have little use to the common person and certainly wouldn't be something someone would take the time to carry around from day to day, however; each item is a memory or has a particular meaning behind it that compels her to collect them. For instance, keys. Keys are the way in which one retrieves something that has been locked away and she has many things locked away with no keys. Therefore, keys hold a sort of significance to her and so she collects them, even though she has no idea what most unlock, the mystery of it all is equally intriguing.

Other various items include a pocket watch, various buttons, and other assorted items which belonged to the people she's met. She may not remember their names or what they look like but simply having these items helps her to remember that there is kindness. Most would not understand her reasoning behind carrying such items, nor would she so easily tell them why she would carry them. These items, although completely normal in terms of what they are, are important and very personal. Therefore, they are a secret which she does not wish to share, much like her ability to leap.


-Appearance: Standing at 5'8" with a lanky frame, Elaine appears more inhuman or devil like than what she is, although; this is not to say that she is completely human. What one is is based on not only appearance but also that which they are internally and while Elaine's external being is in all respects human, the hear which lies within is tortured and broken. It is no lie that her heritage is that of man, however; her ability to be 'human' has been fragmented and in her desperation she has become irrational, inhumane, and in some effect, inhuman. Fighting to regain who she is, she has lost herself along the way. Unknowing, she has become the very cruel demons which she fears, losing the light in her bright blue eyes, the light of life.

Torn between her desperation to regain that which she has lost, those memories she could not hold onto and keep from fading, and the violence of her past, Elaine's emotions sway. Flitting from fear, sadness, anger, and loneliness, much like the flitting nature of time, she is no longer the happy child she had once been, the child that now has been long forgotten. Her eyes, blue in color, used to be bright with the life she held but little light resides there now. They are dull and empty, often looking past the realities present before her to the events of another time, another place. Fear has taken the place of this once known light, consuming her very being and tearing away the bonds which hold what little of her that still remains.

Despite the nature of her eyes, only one is visible, the other being covered by a thick layer of hair. Uncaring and often thrown into hysteria, the upkeep of her hair is rather poor, hanging loosely about her frame, on end and dull in color. Originally it was a bright blonde, however; after little care and numerous bleaching it has lost the golden sheen it once had to be replaced with a sad, silver mess. Having grown in length and due to the nature in which it was cut, harshly with the blade of a knife, the ends are split, matted, and unkept. Anyone would think her insane or mentally disturbed due to such a physical quality and partially one would be correct as her desperation exceeds any need for physical care.

Reaching below the base of her neck, meeting in disorganized clumps of almost triangular patterns, her hair is straight and light in terms of weight, being that it is easily swept about and manipulated by the movement of air. Collecting on the right side of her head, her bangs create a sort of guard which is equal in length to the back of her hair and in extension hides her right eye from view. The remainder of her bangs fan in an equally chaotic fashion, however; they trim above eye level, collecting to the sides of her eye, framing it. Despite this fluid, fanning like motion her hair often imitates, her left ear, like her eye, is completely visible while the right is hidden. This look gives one an uneasy feeling due to the secretive nature of the right side of her face and the raw pain which typically adorns the remainder of her features.

Her attire, which is almost normal in quality, adds little to this tortured figure being that it is neither odd or questionable in nature. Truth be told, it is the uneven gate and wobbled figure which wears them that creates the look of insanity. However, while her attire is perfectly normal in some times, in others it is completely out of character and so draws attention to her being, yet; despite if she is seen she is never truly known to have been there. She walks among the crowd as a phantom, unable to be seen, unable to be heard. Those that do, that notice the tortured soul among them, either look to her in fear or pity. They do not understand the figure which walks their path, always searching for her memories, filled with envy of those that are complete.

The coloring of her attire is dull, consisting of earth tones such as brown and red, only further allowing her to be simply a part of the environment, not a being of her own. It is modern for our time, consisting of such items that we'd call familiar. To whether our time is her time is unknown for she does not remember which year in time is her time, forced to leap through time and space from mere seconds to years, although she believes it to be different from her time. Unknowing of when or where she is, she has lost herself and therefore searches, mind and body whole, yet, separate. Rarely reaching out to others with purely good intentions, she has become a shell of a being who desperately searches to fill the void.

Her upper attire consists of primarily a simple t-shirt based top whose main color is that of brown. The top is loose in fit and cuts in a swoop neck rather than that of a V neck. The collar, and the whole shirt for that matter, is made of a loose material which is soft in nature and barely 'grips' to the frame beneath it. Widely cut, the collar swoops from the beginning of each shoulder, revealing a good amount of collarbone. Despite this, the cut of the collar is high and therefore little of the upper chest is exposed. The sleeves, much like the bottom of the shirt, is looser in fitting compared to the remainder of the top, fanning about her frame much like a small child's attire does. Other than the front of the shirt, the only color is that of a dull brown which only calls to mind the dull nature of her hair. The front, which is a brighter brown-orange, covers from the top of her chest to the base of the shirt in a thick strip, much like that of a simple rectangle.

The lower portion of her attire consists primarily of a pair of equally dull colored pants. They too are made of a comfortable, thin fabric which provides maneuverability and comfort all in one. While the pants cut short on her leg, a few inches below the knee, they are similar in nature to those of an engineer's pants being that they are adorned with numerous pockets which one might store tools within although she carries few items of this nature. Cuffed on the bottom and rolled a few inches, the true bottom of her pants is longer than they appear to be and fan about her frame much like that of her sleeves. Located on the sides of her upper thighs are two, one on each side, rather large pockets like one would find on cargo pants, which adorn a rather large portion of her leg. In addition, small pockets like those on jeans are located on the upper front and back of her ants. There however is one oddity in these seemingly average pants and that is three almost tooth like accessories located on the cuffed bottom of each pant leg. They curve somewhat like that of a saber tooth, however; they are smaller in size. Attached by the means of a clip, there is one tooth on the middle front and two on the back, separated by thirds.

In addition to these basic pieces of attire, wrapped about her waist is a jacket much like that of her pants which fans about her legs, trimming just above the back of the knee. Wrapped around her neck is a loose fitted black collar like type of clothing which oddly enough is similar to the almost collar like cuffs located on her wrists. A few inches in length and thick in width, the black cuffs are adorned with numerous, roughly five, spikes that wrap around them at intervals of fifths. The purple belt which wraps around her waist is similar in that it too is adorned with spikes, however; they are smaller in nature and so more appropriately should be called studs.

Tied about her neck is a small, circular shaped stone, which she does not remember how she acquired although she knows it to be important, tied on a thin black cording. The coloring of the stone is simple and uniform while the hue is much like that of the bleached blonde or silver of her hair. In addition to this, her hands are adorned with a pair of fingerless gloves and her feet a pair of simple red sneakers. These sneakers are worn and loose about her feet. The coloring has faded and the white laces have unraveled slightly on the ends over time. The sole, underside of the tongue, and a small strip of cloth on the top of the shoe are white like that of the laces. Although her attire is not the main source of her insane look, the words cut into her figure make up for any sense of normality.

Fearful to forget, to lose everything which she as managed to remember, in her panics she has taken to etching various words or numbers of significant value into her very skin, allowing her to never forget that which she wishes to remember, even if she does lose the meaning behind them. In particular, her name. Not just Elaine, her whole name, first and last. Elaine is written on her right arm and her last on her left so that if she were to hold her arms out from her sides one would read from right to left her name. This is the etching with the greatest value as it allows her to always know who she is even if she cannot remember. The second most important would be the number 7143, etched on her right cheek, just below the eye, however; despite remembering these numbers, she is conflicted to whether she wants to remember what they mean. Truth be told they are a code for a name of someone she once knew whom she seeks to find again, yet, she has little hope of being able to do so.


-Personality: Elaine is a conflicted and tortured soul. Having such an ability as to leap through time and space one might consider to be a blessing but to her it is a curse. Unable to hold onto the things around her, she is unable to hold onto her very being. She has lost the light of life, having lost the memories which create her. Unknowing of who she is or what her purpose might be, feeling as if there is no place for such an irrational soul, she has become desperate. She will do anything to regain that which was taken from her. She wants resolution, to understand, to know. A shell of her former self, she searches with undying envy to take back what is rightfully her's, what was taken from her without reason.

She wishes to make things right and so she leaps through time in search of what she's lost but such attempts are futile. No matter where, not matter when, those memories elude her and their ability to do so enrages her. What had she done to lose them? Had she done something unforgivable? No, not then at least. Yes, her paranoia had caused her to be violent but this was after. What cause had she given to lose everything which she held so dear? No home, no family. Nothing to call her own.

And with this her envy grew. She'd walk foreign lands, foreign times and all were the same. They saw her but they paid her no mind. She walked with fear in her heart, desperation controlling her actions. It was clear she was disturbed, irrational and so she was feared. She was a phantom, crying out to the crowd which wished her to only disappear. Unwanted, unloved she held dear to what she had, fearful it too would be taken and so she became defensive, overprotective. She could lose everything with a single leap as she had done before. Each leap was a curse. Unknowing of where or when in time she'd fallen, she had no thoughts. Her mind is clouded by the envy she feels, the anger towards those more fortunate than her.

She was hostile, violent. Unafraid to threaten, to intimidate, she scared those around her. She could see their smiles, feel their memories. They were happy. They had a place, a purpose and she did not. She wasn't afraid to turn on them, to yell, to push. They were demons, not she, but it wasn't until she'd lost after regaining that she committed real harm, murder. It hadn't been random; she'd known the poor soul, her brother. She loved him, knew he was innocent, yet, he had replaced her, taken the love meant for her alone. And so fear took hold and before she'd known that she wouldn't gain anything by doing what she did, the act had been committed and forever from that day on she was the demon, a demon haunted by her own past.

She was capable of violence, of harm. Her fear had gotten the better of her and in her desperation she saw others as demons, unworthy of the gifts they'd been given. They were irrational thoughts which compelled her to react to others in the manner in which she did. She weakened as time passed but there was one being who held her strong. He was Liam, the boy she'd met so many years ago. They were friends but she needed him more than he knew. He trusted her, believed her. She'd told him that she leapt, something she had never told any other, even her parents. She didn't know what he thought of her but to her he was important. She remembered him, the only one who stood by her when she needed it and although she had leapt from him so many years ago, she still remembered. Out of anything in the world, save her name, she would not let herself forget him.

With such thoughts she came to terms as best as she could with her fear. She suppressed it, unable to completely eliminate it. Regardless, without her fear controlling her she could live in a manner of speaking, regain the light she'd lost. The demons were human again, were like her. She had a purpose, something to live for. It's not easy though. She still struggles, still worries. She can never truly be rid of her fears but life is better. Able to feel happiness, she has people she can rely upon although she could never tell them her secret. It was a secret shared only by Liam and her, regardless of the time and space which separated them.

She cared for her these people, those she managed to keep a hold upon. She was overprotective to be truthful, fearful that somehow she'd lose them as well if not by an outward force causing her to leap or by her own hand causing her to turn upon them. Her abilities, although for the most part under her control, frightened her. There was no way to predict, no way to know before it were to happen. Conflicted, she is haunted by the red aura but also welcoming for it brings the possibility of finding the time in which Liam resides, a time she does not know and therefore cannot return to by will.

Yet, she fears what he might say if she were to tell him what she'd done, what she'd become. He didn't know how she'd been violent, how irrational she'd been. She'd hurt, she'd killed. She'd tore apart the paths which she walked and this she didn't want him to know. He understood better than any other but she feared if he were to know he might leave. She sometimes even had nightmares about such a thing and often he did not leave but instead turned on her along with all the others she'd hurt. They were harsh, they knew her secrets and so they reacted violently, just as she had done to them. Sometimes she simply is frightened and tries to escape but others she is angered and fights back just as violently. Regardless of what action she takes, it is clear that her fears control her and that she'd do anything to be rid of anyone who discovers her secrets, even if that means to kill again.

Despite this, she does not consider herself to be completely 'evil'. She thinks of herself as more of a lost soul pushed to do evil things rather than someone who is purely evil. She knows she can love, can smile, and often she does when looking to the sky, filled with the thought that maybe in another time, maybe even in the same space, those she has lost are looking to the sky as well. A connection despite the distance, it does her heart good as does the various items she collects. They have little meaning to the everyday person but to her they are memories of people, of places long gone. She remembers and she is happy when she does. Each fills her with hope that one day they'll find each other again, even if it is years from now. One day their paths would cross again and she'd have memories to call her own.

Whether or not she considers herself to be evil, most would consider her to in fact be so. After all, she can be quick to anger and isn't afraid to lash out at others, even to the point of murder. She'd used her ability for cruelty, destroying things others loved, cherished. She'd wanted them to know her pain, to feel what it was like to have nothing and so she took, she hurt. She was the demon which she had feared. She'd become what she had feared but this she never wanted to believe. To admit she was the demon was too much. She'd thought so before and she'd tried to kill herself because of it and despite having tried to do such a deed for the world, to rid it of such a demon, she could not even successfully do so. Subconsciously she would not let her kill herself. It simply stood, she could be twisted, she was irrational and what little remorse did she have to fear? She could not remember most of her acts of evil and so she could not feel guilt for something she did not know.

She is torn between herself, the half that wishes to regain out of pure pain, that does not want to harm and the other which wishes to punish those for taking what is her's. For most of her life the cruel part has controlled her, has gripped her heart out of fear and desperation but there are times, times when she is human, is herself. She is the child she was so many years ago. The child which could love, could laugh. A child with no care in the world, no fears. She could smile, she could find hope. Desperately she wishes to have such happiness and having found it with Liam she only wishes to return. Having lost so much breaks her soul and so she has become the demon she is known to be. Deep down she is still that child, the lost child crying out for her mother. She never found what she had been searching for, had never heard those returning calls and so from that day on, she has always been lost.

There is no home, no place for such a wondering soul to live, and at times this sadness grips her. She cries, she is human. She is the twelve year old lost so many years ago, still crying out for the help she needed. She seeks only happiness, to be rid of the pain that still lingers, and at times that leads to violence but she does not mean it. Fear compels her to protect, to hide herself from what might hurt her. She is a child lost in a world which she cannot understand and without anyone to help her, she becomes the demon. Twisted and torn, she is a troubled soul. One worth little purpose but that still fights to live. Many will try, many have, to rid the world of such a demon but to do so is not so easy for she cannot even kill herself and so what chance does any other have?


-History: Born in the year 2103, Elaine was brought into the world during a time of relative peace. There were occasional threats but there are always threats, therefore; times were good and her family happy. Her mother was a slightly larger woman with long, brown hair while her father was a tall gentleman with blonde hair. They'd met each other four years prior to their daughter's birth one rainy day. They didn't even fully acknowledge each other that day but when they found themselves huddled beneath an awning as the rain poured with various other passersby, they began to speak as people do. It was a casual encounter which neither would have thought would lead to their marriage.

Elaine was their first born and so their greatest love. They wanted the best for her and so gave her everything she could possibly need as a child. This is not to say she was spoiled, however; she may have gotten her way more than not but she lived a modest life in which she was rarely seen as higher than others. Her father had actually made it very clear that while they loved her and would do whatever they could for her, that she was never to look down upon others as if they were less. He wanted her to be happy but also to be normal.

And so she grew happily, her mother working a small, part time job and her father a full time. It was a pleasant life in which she was happy. After all, she had loving parents, a home and friends. What more did she need or want? Nothing. Everything she could possibly want she already had and so she aged without envy and regret. However, much of these years she does not remember due to later events in her life. It was when she was eight that the first hint of the tortures to come appeared.

She was like any other little eight year old, playing outside while her mother prepared dinner and her father was driving home from work. Elaine always went out to play then because that meant she'd be the first to greet her father, whom she loved very dearly. She'd been playing with a small, rubber ball at the time. Truth be told she was simply throwing it in the air and then catching it as it came back down but it was a fun enough game none the less. However, she slipped when she jumped to throw the ball higher than normal, as to add interest to the game, and when she came crashing to the ground she looked up to find the ball returning. It wasn't something horribly concerning being that it was just a ball and wouldn't hurt too much but like human instinct demanded, she covered her face. When she heard the thud of the hitting the ground a moment late, she opened her eyes. More than three feet away sat the ball, still bouncing briefly after having collided with the ground.

This was the first instance in which she'd traveled through time and space and much like the future held, she could not control it. Unknowing of what had happened and afraid others wouldn't believe her, she didn't speak of the matter. Over the next few years every once and a while the event would occur and each time there was no plausible explanation or means of explaining how. She could not control it and truth be told, she'd never fully learn how. It wasn't overly concerning at the time being that she never traveled very far and what damage was done was little. It was when she was twelve that it escalated.

She didn't jump mere seconds, but years. It happened out of nowhere with no cause. She'd simply been walking down the crowded town street with her mother and then within a second, a blink of time, everything was gone. There were no people, no sounds. All that lay before her was the town but it was not the town she knew. She did what any child would and called for her mother. As no reply came she couldn't help but cry. Where was she? She didn't know but she had feared this. She could leap through time, this she knew but she had wondered, what if it could be years, not seconds? And so she was overwhelmed with fear when the realization that she might not be able to get back hit her.

She hadn't even noticed but she'd been walking the whole time and had wondered into a populated area. It was there that she met him, Liam. At the time she didn't know what to do and so she trusted this stranger, this child much like herself. They'd become best friends and she'd tell him her secret. He naturally was surprised and didn't believe her but he didn't say this. He didn't want to hurt her more than she already was and within a week's time she soon gave up hope that she might ever get back. She was sad but she wasn't nearly as sad as she should have been for she couldn't remember. Her parents were simply faces with no names and as her memories faded, replaced with those of what now had become the present, she soon became happy again but all things are short lived.

On the ninth day she'd nearly forgot and it was then that she leapt again. The feeling was the same, the red aura all too familiar but this time it was different. She was overwhelmed with fear, where would she go? Would she lose Liam like she had lost everything before? What she found surprised her. It was her home, her family. She'd been sent back just as she'd nearly completely forgotten. Her parents were naturally overjoyed to see her. It had been months since their child had disappeared but things were different. There was a new child, an adopted boy. Her parents demanded that he was not a replacement but she didn't believe them. It wasn't just months but two years she'd been gone, although to her it was only a week.

Confused and lost she hid from them. She couldn't remember. These weren't her parents. They never have could been. Her real parents wouldn't have replaced her and so she didn't trust them but she had nowhere else to go. She watched as her 'brother' made memories, lived the life that was meant for her. She hated him for this. It wasn't fair that he could remember, that any of them could. She flitted through time for years searching for those memories she'd lost, for Liam, but she couldn't find them.

She met many on her travels: a kind female, a dead man, a cruel murderer. They were simply figures among the fog of her mind. She couldn't remember; she didn't want to. She wanted to know why. Why couldn't she remember? Why couldn't she go where she wanted? Why could others do as they pleased? What had they done to have such pleasures, to smile? She could feel their memories, see them, and it pained her. She was filled with anger, with envy. It wasn't fair. She was cursed to never have a place of her own, memories to call home. She didn't know who she was, what anything was and she was forgetting, forgetting even Liam.

She'd grown now, being eighteen. She'd acquired a knife and cut her hair into the jagged wreck that it s now. She'd started to collect various items as well. Whatever she could keep in her pockets; whatever she could get her hands on. They were nick-nacks, various items of little importance but they were her's. Walking the streets of cities in all places of the world, in all times of the world, she searched. She was desperate. She had to find her memories, find him. She didn't want to forget, she wanted know who she was, what she was meant to be. It was during one of these moments when her fear had griped her heart so deeply that she was becoming irrational that she leapt. She doesn't know why or how but she doesn't care. She leapt and there he was, Liam, just how she remembered him, only older.

It was the first time she could remember anything. She was Elaine. This was Liam. He was her best friend. It took her a moment to get over her shock but she quickly embraced him, breaking into tears. He was more shocked than her. He had considered she had been telling the truth so many years ago but it wasn't until she had appeared in such a manner that he truly believed it. It was then he vowed he'd never doubt her. He'd barely known her those many years ago but she was hurt, this he could see. Taking her to his apartment, he gave her a place to stay but this she could do without. She needed him. He she could remember and she hoped maybe he'd have her other memories, maybe he'd understand.

She never shook her fear that she might leap at any moment and she'd lose him, everything, again. It took along while for her to adjust to tell this, her fears, to him but he helped. She was making new memories, she was happy. For once she felt like she belonged somewhere. She'd all but forgot her past, her hatred. She didn't need her old memories. She had new ones that mattered, that actually meant something. And so they grew close and or a number of years she didn't leap. She stayed where she was with Liam but time plays cruel tricks and she leapt again.

She was twenty-one and thrown into the same chaos she'd felt before but it was worse. She'd lost before, but she hadn't known what she had lost for she had forgotten but now she knew. This time the pain was strong. She couldn't choose what stayed and what faded away. Her life, her memories, they were some toy and she a pawn. She had no say, yet, she wished to make it right, to regain her memories, what she'd lost. And so she dipped into the same desperation which had gripped her before. She didn't see others for what they were but demons free of the curse she carries. She walked among them without a word, without a sound. They saw her but they pretended to not. She wasn't right, this girl with the unstable gate, the emotionless expression, the carvings upon her arms. She hated them for their easy lives, their ability to hold strong to their desires, their dreams, while she could not hold to anything. She was envious and so when it happened that she leapt and came upon her 'family' her irrational thoughts took over.

She'd leapt out of choice this particular time, a subconscious choice. She'd stood at the top of a building, looking down to the ground below. It was a long way and certainly far enough to cause harm, to take her life. She hadn't known if she meant to at the time. She didn't know if she wanted to die, she just wanted to be rid of the pain. Maybe she subconsciously hoped by putting herself in harm's way she would leap. Regardless of the cause, she jumped, arms out as if presenting herself both literally and figuratively having etched her name to her arms, and then she leapt to find a horror.

It was not her mother and father which surprised her but their son, her 'brother'. He'd grown into a man, signifying the number of years having past since her last leap. They noticed her of course, the wreck that she was, but they invited her in, after all, she was still their daughter. Too stunned to have returned to her original time, she complied but when she was left to sit in the living room while they discussed her in the neighboring kitchen, she felt the prick of her hatred return. She could hear their words, their harsh words of surprise and confusion, her 'brother's' words that she was dangerous and they shouldn't let her stay.

To this she stood. If they wanted resolution, they would have it. She was not the problem, this she saw now. It was him, the replacement who drew her parents from her or this was what she told herself as she drew her knife. He had everything that was meant for her, her life, her memories. She'd do anything to get them back and so when they returned she lunged at him, this man that had only been a child the last time she'd seen him. She saw the child, not the man and so with swift motion, she took back what she believed to be her's. She'd not known she'd been violent, not at the time anyway. It wouldn't be till later that she'd realize what she'd done, what she'd become. There were no words, no sounds. Everything was still as she stood, looking to what she had done and she couldn't help but smile. She'd done it, she'd taken it back.

But as her senses came back to her, the sobbing of her mother reached her ears. She looked to her confused. Why would she cry? Why would she look to her daughter with such fear? It was when her father looked to her in rage, yelling at her, that she realized she'd gained nothing at all. It was then she noticed the blood on her clothes, the knife still gripped firmly in her fist. Shaking, she turned and saw him, her brother. Dropping the knife, she was filled with confusion, with fear. What had she done? Could she really have done something like this? Slipping to her knees, she fumbled with the knife in her fingers and closed her eyes, leaping. She didn't know where she'd gone; it didn't matter. All she knew was that she was safe, safe from the horrid crime and in time she knew from the memory as well.

For the next year she hardly spoke or saw anyone, leaping whenever she could but no matter what time, what place, she couldn't find what she sought. She stole everything she needed, walking the streets of various cities, countryside. People saw her, noticed the phantom which walked among them, but they didn't speak to her. She didn't appear to be the most kind of people after all. So she wondered. She'd gained some control on her anger but she still hated that others were more fortunate than her. She was still violent, however; was still swayed to violent acts. Whether or not this meant murder, she didn't know. She knew she very easily could have killed again, could have killed many, but she didn't remember. She'd lost, this is true. She'd lost so much, nearly everything, and so she had a little right to be envious of others but to commit such an act, she feared she had and would again.

Despite her inability to remember most of her life, she did remember that day, after all, who could forget such a day. And truthfully it scared her. She wanted her memories, her life back, and yes she was desperate. She'd do anything to get them back but murder. It was frightening, to lose so much control that her fear took place of her rationality. She was hurt and so she leapt whenever she could, searching but unable to find. She could make new memories, this was true. She'd done so before but she couldn't completely control her leaping and she might leap again, leaving them behind. It was plausible that she might stumble upon that time again, she'd done so in a manner of speaking before but could she risk it? Could she let herself get attached, make friends, a place for herself, and risk losing again? She wasn't sure but she had to try and so, the following year she leapt one last time. It wasn't an ideal time but any time would do.

She'd spend a year without leaping through more than space. She could control it now, although she could not return to a time without knowing what time it was. She could stumble upon it as she had done numerous times before but she could not willingly return to a time without knowing what it was. Truth be told she was a little afraid to leap. As her ability had gained in strength each leap caused harm, tore at the lines of time and the frame of space. She could distort it, affect its being and numerous times in her rage had she destroyed the very paths she walked but she could not forget. She needed those memories and she was still desperate, still capable of the same cruelty she had come to call life. It was in this time however that she met an elderly woman who helped her, despite her fellow neighbor's warnings. She bandaged her arms, to which Elaine was unwilling but she concluded that her name was not gone. It was always there, she was always herself. She knew such a thing would scare others but she demanded to keep her hair the same. It was a common style and so it did not draw attention to her.

Knowing well that her appearance wouldn't help others to see that she was human, that she was capable of more than violence, she let this woman take care of her. It was hard, certainly hard but she had to do this, to regain some of the sanity she had lost. She still feared the day she would leap, knowing that one day she would be forced to again, but she found hope that if she were to leap, maybe she'd fine Liam waiting for her. And so she suppressed her fear as best as she could. She allowed herself to become attached to people again, an attachment that forced her to be overprotective but it was not something which she could ignore. It took a lot of resolve just to keep herself from slipping back into her desperation, to resume her search again.

Her memories remained as elusive as ever during this time. She wondered on some level if she wanted to find them anymore. After all, with how much of a wreck things had been, maybe it was better to not remember. For all she knew her memories might not be very pleasing, even if those before she was eight could be nothing but happy. She hadn't forgiven her parents, even if she regretted what she had done. To remember times when they had loved her could be equally if not more painful than not remembering at all. Whatever her reasoning, she wanted to be happy and so she let herself live a life as best as she could. She was still haunted by her past but she found hope that she might one day recover what she'd lost. And for the time being she was happy but the sad truth remained, she was still the demon she'd always been and could easily slip into her previous state, unknowing of her actions, filled with hatred. She was a killer and she could do so again.

Trapped within the grasps of time, unable to control when and where time moves around her, she is forced to leap through time and space. Flitting from mere seconds to years, losing all track of when and where she is. She walks among those around her unseen and unheard, a phantom among the crowd, unable to speak unable to be heard. She is present but absent all at once, searching for the memories which allude her. Losing all notion of her history, her existence, she grasps to the memories of others, in essence, picking up those memories which have been lost. They are incomplete as they are not her's but they give hope, a meaning. Mistreated and misunderstood her purpose is unknown and possibly even non-existing. She is trapped within her mind, always searching but unable to find those memories which allude her being. Mind and body, whole, yet, separate.

-Appearance: Standing at 5'5", Addy is quite short for her age although no in comparison to most females. She isn't one to not admit this either and truthfully it simply adds the more the 'childlike' image which she sometimes portrays. Equally so, it is quite easy for her to dissolve among a crowd, being short and smaller than most. On the other hand being short is a hindrance in that she often needs Rhett's assistance to reach items at a higher altitude. Additionally, those that are extremely tall or even tall by a great amount seem to almost loom over her which while she can become accustomed to is somewhat concerning. It is not that she is bothered by the person but rather that their height creates a sense of hanging over her.

With slightly paler skin or average skin tone she doesn't appear as dark skinned as others. This coloration is due to her heritage although its exact origin is unclear. As for markings, it is mostly devoid of them. Having been restricted to a less strenuous lifestyle there was little opportunity for her to have hurt herself and so to have unnatural markings. She does however have a small number of freckles on each cheeks which do not overrun the appearance of her face, therefore, looking more so cute than anything else or simply as another portion of her skin. They are quite easily noticeable when she isn't wearing her mask, especially since her shyness has a tendency to cause her cheeks to become red.

As most people, Addy's eyes are red in color. This being a normal quality there is little to her eyes which makes her unique. As every other they are a gateway to the person within, a key indicator of emotion, but in terms of appearance they are no different from the average human. Her physical oddity is found in her hair which like Rhett's is oddly colored, that of a silvery blonde. While blonde itself is a common hair color the intensity of the silver nature of her hair is what is odd. However, to her it is not an oddity, much like the coloration of Rhett's hair. In fact, Addy somewhat finds character in the color of her hair or at least in that of Rhett's.

Somewhat thick in nature, it collects about her head in clumps. Trimming just above her shoulders, her hair rests from her neck to her forehead in a somewhat unkept fashion which causes the various strands of hair to both go forward and backward in various directions with the most common being front facing. Covering her ears, her bangs are moderately large in length being that they have been grown out. Collecting between her eyes and to either side, her hair is both simple and cute, much more like the style of a child than a fully grown female who would more commonly have lengthier hair.

As for attire, Addy's attire is relatively simple, save for her mask. Her upper attire consists two pieces. The first is her sleeveless shirt which is light tan in color and covered by her rig. This vest like piece of clothing trims at the hip, covering little of her lower front and back. Trimming in a slightly V shaped pattern, the vest is moderately formal while overall casual. It's collar is simply in nature, being two flaps with a series of silver buttons running along the left side of her body. These buttons are used to attach one side of the vest to the other, the right side being wider in length and so cutting across her body rather than cutting down the middle. A slightly darker tan trim runs along these edges, including those of the sleeves which are cut closer into the body than the average vest, therefore exposing a small portion of her upper side located directly beneath the arm. And, while the upper button of the vest is left open, allowing the flap which dissects her body to lay open a small portion, no portion of her chest is visible.

Her lower attire is simpler in nature, consisting of a pair of pants and boots. The pants are dark grey in color and are looser in comparison to the vest being they are meant more for comfort rather than appearance. They are extremely simple in nature, being fashioned by a simple button. Additionally, their more loose nature causes them to collect about her lower leg, poofing just above her boots. These boots are black in color and just as simple as the pants, consisting of a simple form fitting design with two buckled belts running along the upper portion of each leg. Cupping slightly at the top to create a sort of cuff like adornment, the boots are both attractive while being practical.

In addition to this and her rig, Addy also wears a cloak like garment over her attire. It is primarily blue in color with a white design along the trim and upper back. The hood is rather large in size, allowing it to lay atop her head even when wearing her mask. The back of it fans slightly, creating almost a point like shape. The remainder of the cloak trims at about knee length, covering the entireity of her back and somewhat her sides due to the nature in which the cloak is tied about her body. Fashioned at the base of the neck with a small white clip, the cloak folds around her arms, causing the need for it to be pushed aside for use of her arms.

The trim of this cloak is white in color and is shaped somewhat like rounded triangles or even cartoonlike teeth, creating the sense of almost a mouth as the hood. They are quite large in size and wrap about every edge of the cloak save for down the inner flap. Located at the point in which the cloak clips to the other side these sort of teeth overlap and in a sense are the portions of the cloak which tie one side to the other. Additionally, there is a string of teeth along the bottom edge of the cloak, wrapping about her feet. Running along the upper back of the cloak from each side is a white zig zag which serves to simply complete the design and connect one tooth to another. The only oddity about this cloak is the fact that to wear her rig over it seems awkward but to wear it under creates a slight bulge on her back which equally looks peculiar.

Her mask is primarily black in color and is simple in terms of exterior design, the more advanced components being internal. It stretches from midway up the bridge of her nose to the base of her chin, wrapping beneath it slightly. It is slim in nature, having a relatively triangular shape to it. This piece is thin in terms of material thickness and has two circular shaped vent like attachments on each cheek that is covered by a netting not all to unlike that found on a gas mask. In actually the designers had wanted something like a gas mask as the look and feel for the design.

Attached to each cheek, vent, there is a thin black tube which runs from the bottom back side, therefore running in a line with the vent and so not easily seen from the front, that runs over the back of her shoulders, down her back and into the tank located on her back. In addition, two black straps made of an elastic material run about the back of her head, holding the mask in place without requiring her to put it over her hair. This also allows her to wear it about her neck with little worry of it getting damaged. Thus, the mask is also in an easy location if needed.

The rig which holds her medicine tank to her back is slightly complex while in reality being very simple. Situated higher atop her back as to prevent the tanks weight from pulling her shoulders back, the tank rests in a sort of leather holder quite similar in design to that of a quiver, fashioned with a buckled strap. This quiver like adornment is attached to a vest like leather right which is not all too different from Rhett's vest, running over the shoulders with a single strap over the chest. By unbuckling the strap over the chest, the entire rig can be removed while removing the mask takes an additional strap to be unbuckled.

The device works in that even when worn casually, without the intent to take her medicine, she can breathe properly and actually quite easily despite wearing the mask. This is due to the large vents on the cheeks, which are thinner than wide and so do not create a very strong chipmunk look, which allows the passing of air through them. When it comes to taking her medicine, which she must do four time a day every six hours, there is a button on the bottom of each cheek, just close enough to reach with the thumb and third finger. By pressing and holding both a covering slides over the vents while one uncovers the tubing, allowing her to breathe in her medicine as she would normally.

There is a manual override on the tank rig which will allow her to take her medicine quickly if something goes wrong with the mask being the mask will not open the tubed vent until the main vent is closed as to prevent the loss and mixture of her medicine. Additionally, the design requires a form of pressure change to allow the medicine to be taken which is achieved through the opening and closing of the two gates. Therefore, while the rig may seem quite complex, in actuality it is rather simple and easy to use, even for her when he was a small child.


-Personality: Addy is in some respects complicated and in others simple. The complication involved in her personality is based around the particular event of her uncle's and Rhett's, her best friend, father's deaths. Being only fourteen at the time and having lived with her uncle eleven years while knowing Rhett and his father for seven, her reaction to the events which occurred that day are highly justifiable. In fact, even medically supported. The simple truth is that Addy is mute, a mutism induced through the traumatic experience of seeing two people she greatly loved die in a manner which was both unpreventable and which she could not help with. Therefore, being forced to watch such a horrible event knowing that there is nothing which can be done is mentally disturbing and violating, leading to her mutism.

On some level it is that she can't speak. On another it is that she won't. To be truthful, it is a complicated mental ordeal which took place that day which while being able to be determined as the source of her mutism, its extent is unknown. At first it was a difficult thing to adjust to but it was different for Addy versus Rhett. To Addy it was simply a nightmare, a memory which so deeply wounded her that she won't speak. To Rhett it was a punishment, especially with the singing she used to perform before. In truth it was the event which haunted Addy, not her mutism. And to this day it still does. Ever since then she has not muttered a single word. Only does she speak in her dreams and even then it's simply memories of what used to be; each ending with the blaze which took it all from her.

Due to this, she will not speak, not even to Rhet. She does know this to be hurtful to him and that he tries many a times to get her to break her silence if it were to be broken but she simply cannot. At times she wishes she could, wishes she could sing to him again but any attempt to do so is futile. It is not only that she won't but that she can't. In part this is due simply to the extent of the event itself but also its repeated exposure. Due to this she is somewhat scared of going to sleep, fearful that if she were to close her eyes her uncle would appear before her, a smile which would turn demonic. Each remembrance is a pain and so sleep does not come easy. Therefore, Rhett plays music which sooths her and allows her to fall asleep without worry, decreasing the chance her uncle will appear. The sad fact however, is that due to the constant apparition of her uncle she has come to both love and hate him.

Additionally, much like Rhett, Addy has a fear of fire, for obvious reasons. It isn't exactly the idea of burning or of the fire touching her but more so the memory which it calls to mind. It is the thought of her uncle and Rhett's father, the manner in which they died that makes her fearful of fire. This in itself is an oddity in that it is not the fire itself which is scary but what it calls to mind. Regardless of how she interprets fire or by what means she is frightened of it, her and fire do not get along. It is both concerning and deserving of wariness. Also, two qualities of fire: 1) smoke and 2) heat, are quite harmful to her condition, both having a direct affect on her ability to breath and so creating the possibility of triggering her. In this way she is both cautious and fearful of it.

Her mutism itself has become simply a quality of her which she has come to accept. Afteral, other than the inability to speak it causes no other effects and so does little physically. Additionally, it does not hinder her ability to wear her mask, previously speech being muffled by the device. Without the need to speak she can wear her mask to her heart's content without the worry of miscommunication between her and others. Therefore, her mask can function as the safeguard which she thinks it to be and so despite its optional wearing when there is no need for her medicine to be taken, she can wear it practically all of the time. To some extent this creates a barrier with outsiders being that their desire to directly address her when wearing it is diminished.

Truthfully, she likes this barrier. Communication with the outside world, strangers in particular, is difficult and frightening. Others will think of her differently, will not understand, and so she rather wishes they consult with Rhett than her. She finds it somewhat embarrassing when others can't understand her and so she is shy out of the fear of social interactions. Unwilling to be spoken to or be put into situations which demand her to respond, Addy walks behind Rhett, sticking close to him, often head down, hand outstretched to his. She is almost a small, fragile child who looks to her big brother for strength and protection.

The love which she has for Rhett is unbounding and in a sisterly fashion. He granted her her freedom and in doing so became her first and greatest friend. Therefore, he holds a great place to her for all that he has done and all that he is. Knowing him for what he truly is and having great respect and gratitude towards him, Addy does whatever she possibly can for him; making meals, running into town, etc. If he were sad, she'd comfort him and if he mad would try to calm him or at least repair whatever might have become broken. Whatever he is in need of, she will attempt to comply and be of help.

Her condition is manageable as well. Having lived her entire life with such a condition, she is quite knowledgeable of the effects which it can have upon her and the way in which her medication functions. Even so, Rhett's care and questioning is greatly appreciated. She is knowing that he means well and is the one who makes sure she takes her medicine during nights. Without him she could truthfully manage but it would be more difficult to an extent that there would be no one to second check her own efforts. And, if an attack were to occur in her condition, a helpful hand in the wrong situation could lead to saving her life if such events put her life into danger.

Due to her mutism her manner of communication is different than that of others for obvious reasons. With the inability to speak, her primary form of communication is expressed through her physical demeanor and body language. Facial expressions and physical actions convey her meanings in addition to a few select motions which both Rhett and her understand to have a meaning. In time it is a form of communication which can be understood but when first meeting her it is easier to use Rhett as a form of translator. To some extent this is embarrassing to her, to have to rely upon him for others to understand her properly, and at times this can lead to sadness.

Unable to communicate 'properly', frustration can ensue. At times the desire to speak is overwhelmingly strong and yet no matter how hard she tries, she simply cannot, leading to sadness. Unknowing of why she was born with such a restricting condition, of why she experienced such a traumatic event, she questions what her purpose is, what it could be. She wonders what she could possibly be meant to do in the condition that she is and so she is confused. She has no overwhelmingly strong talents, no natural expertise in any area. There had been no time, no possibility for her to have gained such skills. When young she couldn't leave nor could she learn her uncle's trade, the chemicals hazardous to her. There wasn't a place for her and now all she has is Rhett.

While she could live without Rhett, she never wants to be without him. She hadn't imagined what life would be like without him at her side if it were not for that one day when he almost wasn't. It was then that she realized just how much she cared and needed him. He naturally knows this, understanding her better than any other and he is appreciative of this, knowing very well that he could have left long ago but chose to stay. Because of this she does whatever she can to please him, to make sure that he feels as if what he has done has been worth his efforts. While she may not physically protect him right off the bat, she can become angered. Deep down, despite how strong and helpful she tries to be for Rhett, she is weak and ultimately needs him.

When it comes to matters regarding outsiders, she is human. If one is in need of help she will offer assistance and so is quite honestly a nice and well brought up girl. She simply lets her fears and worries drive her to be silent and shy. She is not withdrawn or depressed. Slightly haunted, yes. After all, such a traumatic event would leave one moderately haunted and it would have been far stranger than her mutism if she hadn't been haunted. Despite all this, she is normal in her own way. She is just as kind, just as human but simply in a different form with a different way of 'speaking'. This does not mean she should be looked at differently although it is true that some do. Not everyone can understand her and in this is her shyness.

She is willing to learn though, to trust. It simply takes some time during which others become accustomed to her condition and her to their learning of her means of communication. At first it is both frustrating and embarrassing. She thinks it somewhat weak to ask Rhett to translate but she knows very well that she needs it for others to learn to understand her. It wasn't horribly hard. She'd had a number of years to learn tricks on how to convey what she means through anything other than speaking but not everyone understands the same or as quickly. Regardless, she does what is required and if this means letting Rhett speak for her, she is more than happy to do so.

There is a limit to how much interaction she will allow with another. For instance, holding hands as she does with her brother is nothing she would ever do with any other although hugs are acceptable. Additionally, she will not and will attempt to stay true to the fact that she won't go anywhere without Rhett. She may have done so when younger but that was because his anger demanded that she do so. Now that that did not drive her, to be with him means safety and so to be without him is concerning. For very short periods of time it is alright although she will miss him dearly and embrace him upon their reunion. She has after all never left his side since she was fourteen and rarely before then either.

However, night is the ultimate exception. If Rhett is not with her she will not and cannot sleep, even if another plays music. Without him there she does not feel safe sleeping for one thing because of her dreams and for another because she must either awake herself or be awoken to take her medicine, lest her condition worsen. Therefore, if there were ever a time in which the two need be separated, night is the least favorable. While it is true at some point that sleep would overcome Addy, despite her wishes, by doing so she risks not waking to take her medicine. Regardless, of all times of the day, night is the most difficult. The remainder is manageable and of little concern.

Otherwise, life is simple. Knowing full well what physically can be done, her condition is quite stable with mainly unknown factors being possible threats. And despite her uncle's death she is well cared for and so still feels as if there is a family for her, Rhett. Her true parents she does not remember and due to her uncle's vague reference to them, she neither has little knowledge nor knowing of where they currently are. On some level she wonders where they might be and what it might be like to meet them but she is content. Nearly everything she could want, she already had. Therefore, she is not greedy. However, somewhat envious when others communicate freely but cannot understand her.

These inner emotions she does not 'speak' of, having no desire to tell anyone save her brother who already can read her emotions without her being so obvious. It might be due to the young age in which they met or the number of years they've communicated through the barrier of mutism that made their interactions so easily understandable. This she is greatly thankful for; that he can understand nearly everything without her having to struggle to explain herself. Therefore, when alone life is normal, almost as if she could physically speak. There is no barrier between them, no restrictions on their friendship.

Truth be told, what restrictions she has are not only due to her condition and mutism but are restrictions placed on herself by herself. He desire to refrain from leaving Rhett and from avoiding social situations are both restrictions which she has created rather than ones created through a necessity. In some manner of speaking however, these restrictions are necessities. They allow her to feel more safe and to be at ease, traits which simply make life more enjoyable. And while when with strangers she may be shy and 'weaker' in a sense of speaking, when alone with Rhett she does not feel stressed or off put. In actuality she feels completely comfortable and so it is then that she is truly herself.


-History: Addy was born Adeline Rawe. She was born rather small and early. Due to this she wasn't allowed to leave a doctor's care when a child would normally be released. During the first month of her life, all of this time was spent in care, her parents did not leave her side. It was true that at times her father would have to work but the remainder of his time was spent with his wife and first born child. They were naturally concerned for their daughter, her breathing irregular but what cause was unknown. It would be roughly one month after her birth that she would be diagnosed with a severe respiratory condition that made it difficult to breath in certain situations. Thankfully, there was a medication which she responded favorably to and so was discharged on week later.

The years which followed were restrictive. Addy's parents had had enough income at the time of her birth to afford the initial tank and rig which would allow her to take her medication. However, this tank was highly impractical. In its most simply components it consisted of two moderately large sized tanks that sat in a cart with a very simple means of inhaling device. It was in all respects clunky and far heavier than a more advanced model could be but such models cost a great deal, far too much for the modest income her parents made. Therefore, she was forced to adjust and to become accustomed to her tank being that she had no real chose in the matter, her medication essential.

For three years her parents were capable of affording her medication, each tank lasting roughly three months, however; it was a slightly less common medication, especially in such a quantity. Therefore, her father would either have to travel to a neighboring city or pay a traveling merchant to get it for him. This was naturally costly and time consuming. For some time it wasn't too much of a loss, the care of his daughter being the ultimate goal after all but with time it became too costly. Addy's mother couldn't work because someone needed to watch their child and there was no family close or nannies that wouldn't charge more than her monthly income would be. So with time their income decreased, her father unable to keep up with the costs of her medication.

This dilemma led to much thought. There was little that could be done for their now three year old daughter. She needed her medication and if they could not afford it then Addy would have to be given to the care of another. Naturally, this was very hard for her parents. They knew that their child would be going to good hands but ultimately there was the possibility that they might never see their daughter again or at least for a great number of years at which point Addy might not even remember them. In the end they did what they could and took Addy to her father's brother's house, her uncle.

Her uncle was slightly older than her father and was the first born. He'd followed the trade of an alchemist and was very skilled, therefore; wealthy. His house was relatively large, his nest empty. He'd never been one for marriage, yet, he was loved by a number of women in his years, all who gave up on his stubbornness in time. Regardless, he sympathized with his brother and agreed to raise the small child as his own, granting her the nickname Addy. He had been chosen as her new guardian for one thing because of his wealth. He would have little difficulty affording her medication. It being something she would need for a great deal of her life if not it entirety. In addition, the town in which he lived carried the exact model of medication she needed, eliminating the extensive time previously required.

In the next four years Addy grew a strong bond with her uncle. He was a very kind and loving guardian after all. Treating her as if his own child, she was happy. He taught her everything, even answering every single question she could possibly have, and watched her with care. He did so not only due to her condition but out of love. With this mindset, his goal was often to make the young girl smile and despite have never settled down, he liked the idea of being a 'father'; at least to Addy.

Not everything was simple though. For one thing, Addy couldn't accompany him when he was working, the various toxic chemicals having the potential of triggering her. This took a long while to explain to such a child, that no matter what it was for her safety to never entre the room being at the time her medication could not be brought with her. The principle of her medicine alone was hard to teach. She knew something bad would happen if she didn't but her understanding to the extent was faltered. Therefore, for some time she questioned why she had to take it, why she couldn't go out to play. All she knew was that the other children could and for some reason she could not. In this way she became envious of them, they being able to make friends, but in time she accepted her condition and the stipulation which it demanded.

Having come to this acceptance, Addy lived out her days with her uncle. They would go to the market together, read together, and play at times. Every moment, save for when he worked, they spent in each other's company, often talking about everything and anything which she wanted to know. Sometimes it was about her condition, for instance why she must take her medicine at night, and at others about his work, for example what he made. And, with time she soon developed a key understanding of a number of things. She learnt as well that despite the manner in which her condition required he to live it was not something worth being sad about or envious of others. Therefore, she grew mentally somewhat quickly compared to other children, although, only on particular matters.

When it happened that her uncle was working she would sit in the windowsill and look outside or read a book. It was peaceful and relaxing and so was why she enjoyed it. Additionally, if she happened to come across an interesting piece of text or observe an oddity she could ask her uncle about it later. There was a small desire to be just as knowledgeable as he was within her and so she took to gathering what she could. In time her uncle, knowing while her restrictions were important also hindered her ability to simply be a child and so one day he allowed her to go into the garden while he worked. It wasn't like she'd never been before. She'd been many times but never without her uncle at her side. Therefore, at first it was somewhat intimidating but the freedom created joy.

From that day on she was allowed to go outside when her uncle worked with only a few minor rules to guide her: 1) she could not leave the grounds of the house or garden, 2) she had free will to roam as long as she returned within one hours time, 3) and her activities during this time were to be limited to what she knew she could do. Naturally, at first her uncle was moderately concerned for her safety and at times would walk about the house looking through the windows to check on her without her knowing. It was an act of kindness and compassion which he performed but he also wanted Addy to feel as if she too had freedom and so he watched her secretly. In time he became less worried and Addy was no longer watched so strongly. She still envied the children outside the gate but she was much happier with her privilege to go outside on her own.

During this time she had had a few minor concerns and a few major concerns but all forms of disaster were adverted. With this came an understanding of her condition and how it affected her when she was in need of her medication. Therefore, despite her uncle's close care, she could tell herself when she was in need of her medication or when she is in need of slowing down to advert from a possible misfortune. Therefore, she is skilled and knowledgeable of the way in which her condition and medication function. Due to this, she can properly take care of herself in this regard, although, a watchful eye is always appreciated.

It is at age seven, when playing out in the garden on day, that she meets a boy who will become her best friend, her big brother. He called to her through the gate that first day but she did not respond. The rule was to not let anyone in and she'd not seen or interacted with this boy before so she was somewhat shy. This boy, who was two years older than her and had an oddly colored blue hair, did not give up. From that day on he returned to the gate and called to Addy. One day he brought a toy, a small contraption of his own design. It wasn't very advanced nor did it serve a purpose. In all respects it was simply a toy which he hoped would attract the attention of the girl. Honestly, it did.

The object, which he'd brought, she'd never seen before, it being of his creation, and so she was intrigued. Due to this she walked to the gate and asked him what it was. He naturally responded, saying they could play with it if she'd come out. Knowing very well that she couldn't, she said that she was ill. At first he thought it was something he could catch, her being vague, but she reassured him that it was not. For the remainder of that hour she sat by the gate, him on the other side, and talked. He told her about his father, he being the one who taught him how to make the toy, while she talked about her uncle, him being an alchemist.

When it came time that she return to the house she said goodbye to the boy, promising to return the following day. Being slightly late, her uncle had seen her at the gate with the boy, having looked out to find her. Naturally, he questioned her in a kind manner at that days dinner. He was pleased that she was making what appeared to be a friend but also somewhat bothered. She'd broken a rule technically and he didn't know this boy but they were on separate sides of the gate and so her uncle approved of her talking to him. This pleased Addy and for some time she spent what time she could with this boy, Rhett. He was kind to her despite her inability to come outside the gate and to play as children do. In time this would change.

One day he brought his father with him, having told him about Addy. Getting her uncle, Rhett and his father were invited to dinner. During this time Addy's uncle questioned both Rhett and his father, the second primarily. In time they found a common ground between their engineering and alchemy. They easily became friends and began to collaborate, always at Addy's and her uncle's home for obvious reasons. Rhett also came during this time. Both pairs grew close and became good friends. It still stood that Addy had limits and knowing this, her uncle requested that Rhett's father might take a look at her tank. It was his hope that perhaps with his engineering skills he might be able to make a more convenient way for Addy to take her medication.

Within a short time an alteration was made and Addy was gifted a portable and realistic means of administering her medicine. Being a sort of back tank and mask combination, Addy could now carry her medicine with her and so she could leave the 'grounds' without someone always at her side. It is heavy for the eight year old and takes time to get used to but Addy is eternally grateful for the freedom she has been given and for the next six years she grew up with Rhett. He showed her the town and those places outside her uncle had never shown her. After all, not every place had been so safe before nor had there been much purpose of going there.

Addy's condition was stable during this time with a few flares here and there that were only natural but with her new medication she as safer than she'd ever been. In addition, Rhett had been instructed by her uncle on the condition and actions required of Addy, therefore; creating a second safeguard and so he became her watchful big brother. She cared for him as a sister too, following him and answering every request. Additionally, she sang to him. She'd done so before when they first met in the garden but before Rhett she'd sung to herself. Now, she sang for him. She wasn't the best naturally but she wasn't horrible either and so he appreciated it. In this manner they became very close, Rhett giving her the freedom she'd dreamed of with the help his father.

In this time, her uncle and his father grew very close as well. They often spent the day together and stayed up late at night working on various projects. They'd begun to collaborate and were making great progress in one of their projects to the point of a breakthrough. It was on the verge of this discovery that tragedy struck. It came in the form of a fire which started due to the improper and accidental mixture of chemicals. It was also a fire which took the life of both Addy's uncle and Rhett's father. Unfortunately, the air had been there in the garden during the time and so saw the fire, unable to do anything for the ones they loved. Both are instantly struck with grief, Addy crying and Rhett simply in pure shock. This is the last time that Addy ever spoke, gaining trauma induced mutism, with her last words being words of grief and comfort to her best friend.

Overwhelmed with grief for his father and sympathy for his friend, Rhett slips into a depression like state. In this he becomes quiet and no longer invents. What remains of Addy's home becomes their home and together they live there, avoiding the wing of the house in which their love ones died. The remainder of the town knows of the fourteen and sixteen year old living alone as well as the deaths which took place but rarely do they see them. The gates are kept locked with only the doctor visiting every once and a while to check on Addy. It is he who comes to the conclusion that she will never speak again and upon this Rhett becomes enraged.

He feels pain, that she does not deserve what has been taken. Due to this, he becomes violent, breaking items in the house, including those which belonged to his father and Addy's uncle. Confused and disillusioned, he feels that if he destroys these memories they can heal. However, Addy does not stop him. Instead she silently cleans after him, often crying at the loss of a treasured item. Rhett is knowing of this as well. Having seen her in the act many a time, he becomes riddled with guilt and in time comes to the conclusion that it is all his fault. He'd introduced his father to Addy's uncle, showed her the world and then took it from her. Even now, he still caused her pain.

Consumed with such thoughts, he comes to the conclusion that Addy would be better off without him and so he attempts to take his life. Climbing he staircase to the roof of the house, he stands at the edge, prepared to free Addy from the burden he's given to her. However, u to his previous behavior, she'd been watching him so that she might help if he turned to one of his rages and so she followed him to the roof. Once she caught on she instantly ran to him, hugging him and refusing to let go, crying. She almost became desperate, clinging to him as she attempted to pull him back from the edge and despite her inability to speak, her meaning was clear. He embraced her in return, apologizing and promising that he would never leave. Naturally, he is forgiven.

From then on, life improves, she fifteen and he seventeen. Rhett returns to inventing, determined to live up to his father and to have the skill to upgrade and maintain Addy's rig. With a purpose to live, he becomes calm, becomes himself. Addy watches and cares for him like a loving sibling. When sad, she comforts him. When lonely, she is at his side. He is everything to her, forgetting her inability to speak, her condition. He understands her and cares for her. She'll never blame him for what he did but she fears that it might happen again. In this manner she is wary. If she were to get hurt, he would blame himself. Therefore, she takes little risk, following behind him.

Due to her previous condition at night and during extensive physical activities, she must wear her mask but is able to breathe fine when relaxing. Sometimes she even wears it as a safeguard, a reassurance. She has no need to speak afterall. In some way it comforts Rhett despite being a reminder in that if needed she can easily and quickly administer her medicine. He does regardless ask her if she has taken it and often checks her tank to see how much is left before they must get another. In this manner he watches over her but he struggles.

She has become shy in the fact that being unable to speak she fears others will not understand her and so doesn't take charge or stand for herself. In reality she places such a role to Rhett, despite having gone to the village numerous times directly after becoming mute, making locals known of her condition. It is the trauma of the event which makes her how she is and so she clings to Rhett and he protective of her. In past and present, she tried her best to return such care and love to him, after all, he made it so she could see the world, he'd given her a friend. Now, the hardest thing was not speaking but singing. This she could no longer do and so Rhett takes up an instrument, the music soothing her to sleep. It is a trade for the singing she granted him before her mutism.

In time they become accustomed to the changes, she accepting to most concepts of her new condition and he to the events of the past. He still worries for her though, her mutism being trauma induced. He wonders if she dreams of that day, is she'll ever speak again despite what they'd been told. She seventeen and he nineteen, the pair are accustomed and accepting to the hand fate has dealt them. Their understanding of one another is so great that her condition is not a hindrance and by continuing the same maintenance as before, she can live a normal life. In this, he shows her many things hoping to make her happy, to cure her inability to speak. He desires to be the one to break the spell if fate would have it be broken.

She is eternally grateful or the love he gives her an is ultimately happy and able to adjust because of him. Most of their day is spent outside the house in the garden or within the village. Most often it is simply the two of them which while somewhat sad is all that they need. They met at quite the young age after all and so have known each other for most of their lives. Without their uncle and father, each other are all that they have and so each care a great deal about the other, especially through their shared trauma.

There is little worry from day to day about her condition, the proper precautions put into place. It is only during strenuous activities that there is a moderate worry. She is skilled enough to know when it feels as if her chest is tightening and she can't breathe well to take her medicine and so traumatic reactions are quite rare. It has simply become a part of daily life, to always carry the tank and mask as well as administer the medicine. She doesn't complain either, knowing very well that she needs it and so even when woken in the middle of the night, Rhett always helpful, she does not pout. This adds strength to him, to see her strong and accepting of her lifestyle despite it being what it is. Despite this, he helps her with anything physical, attempting to lessen the burden. After all, the rig she has now does spread the weight of the tank but alot of pressure is put when the tank is full. Therefore, he carries heavy things for her. Truth be told, she is grateful for this knowing very well that she would struggle to carry a great deal of weight in addition to her tank. She is after all only average in terms of physical strength, if not slightly weaker.

With those that she knows, she is not shy, knowing very well that they would not judge her for her mutism or fail to understand her, Rhett in particular. With strangers however, she is shy, often sticking very close to Rhett and looking to the ground in an attempt to not be noticed. In this manner her mutism can be misinterpreted as only shyness but it is her appearance which convey the condition she carries, although not all may recognize it right out.

It is clear there is some sort of abnormality about her, particularly if she is wearing her mask at the time, which she often is. Rhett knows of her displeasure and so will often try to wrap up conversations or make up some excuse for her rather than to instantly leap to the truth. After all, it's not his place to tell others, but her decision. Naturally, he must do the talking, those having never interacted with someone with mutism most likely having trouble understanding her, but he often waits for her permission. In all he still wants Addy to feel as if she is her own person with her own rights to do as she pleases and so he is quite lenient towards her.

Addy is ultimately happy. It is true there is a burden to her existence and red in her past but she has coped with it well for the most part. Her mutism is the main indication of her mental struggle, with the rest if there be any being secrets. Physically it is clear that something isn't exactly 'normal' with her but this she has accepted. It has dictated the way in which she interacts with others but there is little worry with Rhett at her side. He will defend her, watch over her, and care for her if needed, much like she will do for him. They are more than friends but family, a sister and brother meeting years after their birth but together from the start.

Abilities: Thanks to her cybernetic implants, Soluscia has incredible arm strength, meaning she can overpower a very large amount of biological beings with the greatest of ease. However, as strong as she may be, the rest of her body isn’t robotic, meaning that overdoing it will strain and harm her body. Strength isn’t the only good part of having robotic arms, though; she is able to control them at will, making them longer, larger, giving herself more fingers, bigger hands, etc. Once again, overdoing it will strain and harm her, so while there’s technically no limits to her abilities, she needs to impose one herself.

Though she mainly has strength in her arms, Soluscia is by no means a slouch when it comes to leg strength, being able to leap a few feet in the air when using her arms to help her jump. She also has over average stamina and is quite fast, but her main physical talent is her dexterity, which is crucial considering her weapon/instrument of choice. It is important to note that despite her ridiculous strength, she has little to no martial arts training, meaning that she’s largely useless in unarmed fights against experienced fighters, even more so due to the fact that she’s not very tough physically; a few hits are enough to get her out of a fight.

Solstice doesn’t need to fight unarmed, however, due to her very special power, which is actually granted by her headphones. Though they heavily reduce her hearing capabilities, they turn her into an extremely powerful technopath, making her capable of manipulating any machine in the vicinity similarly to her arms. This makes her a very strong hacker as well as a powerful adversary in rooms with plenty of machines for her to use, but in a desolate room, or even outside, this power is once again turned useless and even becomes a handicap due to her near complete lack of hearing while wearing the headphones, which is turned even worse when she actually plays her instrument due to its sounds being amplified in her headphones.
Equipment: Solstice’s main weapon is also her ‘music-maker’, being a very versatile tool for both battle and, well, making music. Though mainly working in the form of a keytar, having no strings and lots of buttons instead of frets, her instrument is capable of emulating practically any instrument and/or sound while also serving as its own amplifier through the large dials on the head as well as the two larger dials on its body. These ‘dials’ aren’t only speakers, however, they also serve as additional ‘buttons’ for Soluscia to create sounds, the ones on the body mainly being for percussion and the ones on the head to both change the sample sets and to distort the sounds being played. By splitting her arms and fingers, Solstice is able to create truly unique sounds by essentially becoming a one woman band, though this tires out very quickly both mentally and physically, as splitting her arms and focusing on many different tracks is simply too much for her.

By boosting the volume to the maximum and fiddling with its settings, Soluscia’s instrument becomes a dangerous weapon that creates ear-shattering sounds and powerful shockwaves. Furthermore, she can fire thin, weak lasers from the head of the instrument with each note played, though the sheer speed of her playing can result in devastating attacks. However, the weapon has absolutely zero defensive uses and from up close it’s only good as a battering ram (and it’s actually solid enough to be used as one), meaning that Soluscia must keep herself mobile, focused and accurate to be effective, something that is much, much easier said than done, especially for her. She’s at her best when she has allies that can protect her and let her stay put without any fear of being attacked. In the right situation, Solstice can be extremely dangerous… or laughably useless.

Appearance: Just ignore the apple necklace; headphones are wireless.

Standing at an average 5’4” and weighing in at around 200 pounds thanks to her robotic arms (she’d weigh about 130 pounds without them, approximately), Soluscia is quite the looker, having a large, natural bust and a pretty face, though she doesn’t have much in terms of lower curves. Her build is slightly larger than average for a Type-B, having a bit of chub here and there, though her legs are fairly slim and her face somewhat rounded. She’s a natural redhead, having bright orange hair that reaches a bit past her shoulder blades. Usually, it’s either extremely messy, as if she just woke up, or it’s neatly combed with her bangs slightly covering her eyes at times and the sides reaching her breasts. Her eyes are cyan and very, very rarely are they devoid of emotion, usually showing vivid emotions like joy, sadness or anger, or just nearly child-like enthusiasm. Quite notably, she tends to wear a beret with a noticeable visor that has the left front quarter completely black and the three other quarters have a checkered pattern that switches between beige squares with a small green dot in the middle and black squares with a red apple that has the lower right half chewed off (which is her band’s logo). Her headphones are white and in the shape of said apple, though they have a green circle where the ‘bite’ was taken. The right headphone is inverted so the green circles are facing away. Of course, she’s not always wearing them, so they usually are hanging around her neck. Her ears are small and slightly pointed, as with all Murians, but they point downwards instead of straight or upwards.

For upper wear, Soluscia will wear either extremely casual things like ill-fitting shirts with cute childish patterns or even old, ragged clothes (comfort is the main thing she wants), but in most cases she wears a black polo shirt with green accents, such as a single line on the top of her shoulders and the collar, which is very large and rather unique: it’s designed to show off a large part of her right breast and there’s an additional flap over her left breast. These triangular collar flaps all have a thick beige line on the outermost edges. The sleeves of the shirt are very short, barely reaching her biceps. They have, however, her band’s logo in beige on the top of the sleeves, right about the rim. Of course, no one would expect her to just prance around with half her breast hanging out, not even herself, so she wears a white tubetop underneath her polo shirt to keep herself family-friendly (in all honesty, she wouldn’t care too much). The tubetop only covers a good chunk of her breasts and a small part of her abdomen, meaning that there’s still a good deal of cleavage revealed. The tubetop has a black lace rim, which seems to emulate a bra (be reassured, it isn’t one).

For lower wear, Solstice wears a rather short, bright green pleated skirt that is a bit longer in the back. Under it is her underwear, of course. For footwear, the multi-talented musician wears thigh-high socks that have an identical pattern to her hat, with the completely black part being the feet. Finally, she wears black sneakers with a green interior and laces. These sneakers have her band’s logo on each side in beige three times, the one further back being large and the one in front being small. The sole of the sneakers also have the band’s logo incorporated in the design a few times.

What is perhaps the most easily noticeable thing about Soluscia, though, is her completely bionic arms, as the young musician needed both of them amputated after a freak accident. They are completely white safe for the elbow, which is black all around, and the fingertips, which are also black. The wrists are also pale green and so are the parts near the shoulders (which are seamlessly and neatly attached to the shoulders). In her forearms there are wires which can be plugged into her instrument or other machines to power it. Even though they’re a part of her, there’s still her band’s logo near the elbow on the inside of the arm, though it’s small and pale green.

Personality: Contrary to the usual pompous, proud Type-B Murians with a superiority complex, Soluscia is brash, energetic and actually rather crude, using a relaxed, familiar vocabulary despite being, like all Murians, extremely intelligent. Her frequent swearing and witty quips tend to mask this latter fact… as does her apparent lack of common sense. Soluscia is very much the kind to react on instinct, something which makes her rather unique within her advanced, intelligent species. As a result, she’s seen with either disdain or fascination, very rarely anything else; people either abhor her for being a ‘mindless twat’ or, on the contrary, find it fascinating and refreshing to be in the presence of someone who doesn’t think as much as they should, and both visions are acceptable. She very much is someone who could be qualified as mindless at times due to being prone to rushing into a (potentially) dangerous situation without thinking; on the other hand, she’s also someone who’s easy to get along with and who tends to be a great person to be with as she acts differently from a majority of other Murians, whether they be Type-A, Type-B or Type-C.

Though she is different from other Murians in quite a few aspects, she still retains some key behaviors from her species, such as overindulgence of food, comfort and technology. While many Type-B Murians are proud of their slim figure and restrain themselves, Soluscia finds herself eating five meals while lying down on a huge, comfortable mattress that massages every inch of her body while watching movies just because she can, which explains her somewhat chubby frame (for a Type-B Murian). However, being as energy-filled as she is, these relaxing sessions never last too long, even with her friends. While Type-Bs tend to look down on her, she tends to return the favor as she strongly detests their narcissism (which isn’t to be confounded with the hedonism/epicurism of the Type-As and Type-Cs). As a result, Soluscia is quite hostile with other Type-Bs, to the point of having a shorter temper when around a typical one.

As she is the lead instrumentalist, main lyricist and main songwriter of a very popular band, it’s not very hard to guess that Soluscia’s passion is music. She is practically a virtuoso with her self-built instrument that is slowly starting to be reproduced for the public after popular demand. She’s in love with the Murian music business as there are no time limits to come out with albums and you can make shows whenever you want and for free (seeing as how economy is non-existant on Muria), making it easily accessible to anyone who wishes to see her band perform. She adores being on stage and especially entertaining people, being a great storyteller due to her energetic demeanor. She also loves meeting new people, making her current ‘job’ the best thing ever in her eyes.

As charismatic as she is, Solucia often finds herself impeded by her fairly short temper coupled with a general lack of patience and a standard ‘hit first, ask questions later’ mindset. All these flaws make her easy to predict in general, at least when it comes to actions. She’s also very loud and doesn’t seem to know how to shut up, meaning she’ll literally scream as she charges people or flat out announce what she’s going to do before actually doing it, which explains why some Murians call her a ‘mindless twat’. When she stops and actually uses her brilliant mind (which is actually very rare in dangerous situations), she can be extremely dangerous.

Her best friends are, unsurprisingly, her bandmates; she’s the only Type-B of the band, the others are two Type Cs (one male called Evon, one female called Bronde) and a female Type-A called Maithi, the latter of which is her best friend. Soluscia is extremely protective of her friends, to the point of completely losing her mind if they’re harmed in any way (though only at the people who harmed them, mind you), yet she’s not dependent on them in the least as she can easily go weeks without seeing them, which is quite strange when you think about it even though it’s basically impossible due to them living in the same house. Maithi is her childhood friend while Evon and Bronde are siblings the two met fairly recently. She is also good friends with Treft, Maithi’s lover. It’s worthy to note that Soluscia will always choose her friends over herself in any situation, one example being the fact that she flat out encouraged Maithi to lie to people that she was writing the lyrics to the songs they played in the social areas of Muria when it was, in fact, Soluscia who did. All for what? So Maithi could impress men and get herself a lover, which she really wanted.

As one can expect from someone so energetic, Soluscia is very often in a good mood and has a big smile on her face, or even a smirk. She exudes confidence and can be considered a master of pep talks at times due to her seemingly unshakeable optimism (which is often greatly appreciated by her friends and allies). She often shines as a ray of positivity within groups and can actually make a fairly good leader when forced to think, though she’s once again impeded by impatience and a lack of judgement.

As mentioned previously, Soluscia is very intelligent and is a tech-whiz by an extremely advanced civilisation’s standards, which is no small feat at such a young age. She, like many Murians, has contributed to her planet’s technologic advances, though she mostly creates devices that have to do with sound (which is understandable considering her profession). She is very, very seldom seen without any kind of electronics with her, and she could be considered addicted, more so than typical Murians.

Something that makes Soluscia similar to typical Murians in some respect is her fascination with both knowledge and especially nature as her planet lacks the latter. She seems to have a passion of traveling to other planets within her galaxy (that have intelligent life on them, at least) and, in fact, it’s something she’s planning with Maithi, Evon and Bronde as they all share those two passions, so learning more about other species while also being on a planet that didn’t eradicate nature is something that is definitely worthwhile for all four of them.

Something that is worth noting is that Soluscia is openly bisexual and finds herself attracted to many men and women. She finds the more extreme body types of Type-Cs and Type-As to be much more attractive than the slim, plain Type-B body type, which isn’t helped by her general hatred of her fellow Type-Bs. It also perhaps hints that she doesn’t find herself very good-looking by her standards as girls of her general build are deemed unattractive at best by her more often than not. While Soluscia has no romantic interest in Maithi (who is straight and taken anyways), she does have a rather big crush on both Evon and Bronde, though she’s able to hide it most of the time.

Being the only daughter of a Type-A couple means that Soluscia’s life started in relative solitude as she had no siblings, older or younger, to play with. Having a nearly immobile 850 lbs. mother who spends practically her entire life either with her (and her father) or creating new video games as well as a fairly large 500 lbs. father who spends most of his time keeping Muria’s complicated virtual network safe, it’s no coincidence that Soluscia became fascinated with technology at a very early age. Fueled by the curiosity that only a child could have, Soluscia started pestering her parents as they worked on the things they loved, wanting to know anything and everything about these wonderful machines that seemed to just fill more than half the house. She understood things very quickly, befitting the child of two Type-As. Her parents, being the sweetest beings around, answered each of her thousand daily questions with complete, well thought-out answers and, as she got older, even showed her how to do a few basic things.

When she turned five, it was time for her to go to school, as her parents strongly believed that meeting other children would greatly help their precious little daughter grow into a kind being, like them. However, while it did help her understand how other people worked, the gifted red-haired Type-B found herself exposed to the snobbiness of the many Type-B teachers who clearly showed favoritism towards their fellow Type-Bs, including Soluscia herself. This irked the young girl, as she felt it was unfair that she could get second tries when her fatter and buffer classmates couldn’t, that she could ask questions freely, unlike the Type-A and Type-C children. She eventually told her parents, seeing as how it really, truly upset her, and they explained the different Murian types to the young girl. Still, despite the two brilliant adults’ explanations, Soluscia still found it unfair that Type-B students seemed privileged by Type-B teachers when Type-A and Type-C teachers treated everyone equally. This is how Soluscia’s hatred of her own type was born, and it still hasn’t faded. A great testament to that fact is how she is the only Type-B in her band, and it’s no coincidence.

After seeing Soluscia coming back home unhappy day after day, Mr. and Mrs. Pasey opted to get their daughter in another school (the sheer amount of people and children on Muria making this laughably easy) when she was about seven years old. It was then that Soluscia found happiness: she met her first true friend, Maithi. Seeing a seven year old already waddling like her father piqued the curious Type-B’s interest. Being as bold as she is today, Soluscia approached the very large child and asked her why she was so big before even introducing herself or asking the cyan-haired child her name. Maithi simply said she liked food and that it made her happy, so she ate a lot of food. As innocently as a child can, the very soft-spoken Type-A child then asked Soluscia why she, as opposed to her, was so thin, so the future musician simply repeated what her parents told her about Murian types, something Maithi didn’t know about yet.

Maithi’s adorable innocence and Soluscia’s brashness seemed to click, and the two became fast friends, with Soluscia helping her rotund friend whenever she could. With the two of them being only children, they soon started developing a sisterlike relationship; becoming inseparable. Soon, Maithi gained confidence (and a few more pounds for good measures, of course), almost imitating Soluscia sometimes. Similarly to how Soluscia’s love of technology and hatred of Type-Bs were born due to personal experiences, her (and Maithi’s) love of music was born similarly in a very simple way: with her mother being a solo video game creator, she had to do everything herself, and that includes the music. Naturally, the two young girls asked Soluscia’s mother to teach them how to make music, with them quickly realising that the red-headed Type-B quite simply would not work as a singer. Maithi, however, seemed to find a hidden talent the very same domain her ‘sister’ was terrible at: singing. Her soft voice was perfect for singing slow songs, but after a few years of gaining some of Soluscia’s traits through constant exposure, she was able to have a powerful, energetic voice as well (though it took some training from Soluscia’s mother).

As they reached their teenage years, Soluscia was already an inventor, having created her trademark instrument and headphones (though the technopathy only came after more fiddling, the same goes for her instrument’s destructive capabilities). Soluscia spent most of her time practicing to play her instrument to perfection and perfecting her two inventions, somewhat mimicking her parents, who did the same with their respective passions. Meanwhile, Maithi was an expert singer already, training nearly constantly in Soluscia’s presence. The two had a clear goal: to become musicians, to make a band like the ones they kept listening to. However, when Soluscia and Maithi were about 16 years old, an awful accident happened. Soluscia’s mother had grown large enough to require an HMPC and Soluscia was the one tasked with adjusting it as her mother tried it. The teen-aged Type-B made a mistake and the hovering component of the HMPC was deactivated, sending all 1030 pounds of her mother as well as the already hefty 200 pounds chair crashing down onto her head at a weird angle, which, luckily enough, didn’t crush it like a watermelon. However, it did damage the young Type-B’s spine enough to cause diplesia, paralysing both of her arms. With the arms being beyond saving despite the Murians’ advanced technology, Soluscia (who also got herself a nice concussion as a result of the ordeal) and her parents (as well as Maithi) agreed to get her entirely robotic arms.

After getting her new arms, Soluscia needed to completely relearn how to use her arms, which made her years of practice with her instrument nearly completely useless. However, her brain retained most of what it had learned and she was able to carry on her life as if nothing had happened, though Maithi and the red-haired Type-B’s parents kept vivid memories of the incident. Soon enough, though, Soluscia became overjoyed at how much easier things had become ever since she had gotten her new arms: everything was extremely light and getting additional ‘limbs’ was beyond useful in her opinion, and simply served to make the already cheery Murian even cheerier.

As the two ‘sisters’ grew, Maithi started dabbling into love, her weight having stabilised at around 600 pounds (she was downright afraid of HMPCs after that dreadful accident with Soluscia) and the soft-spoken singer looking gorgeous for a Type-A of her size. Maithi and Soluscia started playing in the social areas of Muria (which you could consider indoor parks, more or less), with the former musician charming men with her sublime voice. Maithi’s confidence grew, and she even became a bit seductive, using her Type-A sex appeal to attract listeners. Soluscia, being entirely content with being in the background as her once shy friend was impressing men (even Type-Bs) left and right. The instrumentalist was, unbeknownst to the public, the one writing the lyrics to the little songs they’d play, but it was a fact she told Maithi to lie about so she could find someone who liked her (which, upon retrospect, wasn’t really a good idea…). Maithi fell in and out of relationships until the two reached their eighteenth birthdays, where the two decided that lying wouldn’t work at making natural relationships for the biggest of the two.

After that decision, it didn’t take long for the two to meet their future bandmates: the Type-C twins Evon and Bronde. The muscular twins towered over Soluscia and Maithi, but more so the former, who is a whopping eight inches shorter than her obese friend. With the female, Bronde, being just as wide as Maithi and the two siblings both being ten inches taller than even Maithi (which is actually normal for Type-Cs), the two ‘sisters’ were dumbfounded at seeing such massive Type-Cs who were actually extremely nice and not gruff powerlifters. Even more surprising was the fact that these two siblings were, in fact, aspiring musicians like Maithi and Soluscia, hence why they approached them with interest. After a few days of working together, the four friends developped the chemistry needed to make music as a unit, and thus was born the band Eclipsia, with its members Solstice (Soluscia), Moontide (Maithi), Cometia (Bronde) and Aster (Evon).

A couple of years later, and the members of Eclipsia are the best of friends, spending nearly every day together brainstorming for ideas and practicing in Solstice’s newly acquired home (which was essentially acquired for all four of them). With the house being gigantic even by Murian standards, all of Eclipsia can live there comfortably along with one of their biggest supporters: Treft, who is Maithi’s Type-A lover of two years (they met shortly after they met with Bronde and Evon). Treft is adored by all three other bandmembers, though he obviously holds a special place in Maithi’s heart. Soluscia, after hearing a few conversations about nature, which is only found on planets other than Muria and EASP within Foses, has been secretly planning with Treft to take the entirety of Eclipsia on a trip to other planets as a surprise birthday present for Maithi. It’s quite clear that Soluscia is someone who cares more about others than herself, especially for Maithi, who has known her for more than a decade. It’s even apparent to Evon, Bronde and Treft, which is a testament of how selfless she is.

Other: Muria: Muria is the planet where Soluscia was born, and its natives are called Murians. Muria is situated in the Foses Galaxy, which houses dozens of planets with intelligent, advanced races on them, with Muria being the most advanced technologically. Muria itself is gigantic, being about the size of Jupiter (whether or not the Murians used their technology to make the planet bigger to combat overpopulation remains a mystery). As a result of its sheer size, Muria has the largest population on a single planet across the Foses Galaxy. Even more startling, Muria is completely deprived of nature as all of it has been destroyed. No animals, no plants, no water, no stones, only gigantic metallic homes that completely cover the planet’s surface; there are no streets and no doors to these houses, making Muria look like a big gray dome from outer space. Murians never have to leave their homes, and even if they do, they use teleporters to go to different places on Muria (can you imagine travelling without teleporters on that mammoth of a planet?). The planet’s atmosphere is long gone, and has been replaced by powerful energy shields that protect it from any and all dangers, ensuring the safety of the Murians. Of course, it also prevents spaceships from entering and leaving it, so the shields can be temporarily disabled or be told to ignore certain objects, such as the said ships.

Life on Muria is extremely easy and the planet could be seen as either utopic or dystopic, depending on the point of view. Work is basically non-existant as there is no such thing as economy, which also eliminates the concept of social classes. Instead, people ‘work’ for their passion and to collectively help their society get more advanced. Since there are no animals and no plants, there is no such thing as organic food; everything is artificial with the taste enhanced tenfold, making Murian food the best in the galaxy for the tongue… but for other species it can easily become addictive and, therefore, fattening since ‘healthy’ foods are rarely made. In fact, fast food, desserts and junk food literally dominate Murian households. Each house has a food dispenser that creates food (and beverages) in a minute or so, no matter what it is. As a result, overindulging is extremely easy, as the food is free and right there, all the time.

The political structure is, unsurprisingly, mainly based on communism, but is strongly mixed with democracy. Every single Murian has a say in public decisions, with many rules being imposed for decision making. Due to the sheer number of people, electing a leader is simply impossible due to the overwhelming amount of opinions. With their current system, which involves letting a machine sort out votes and eventually making a decision after many questions, the decisions are all safely made with a majority being alright with said decisions and the whole process does not require the Murians to leave their home.

While there is the technological advancement aspect of their society that fuels Murians to outdo themselves each and every day, there’s another very, very strong part to Murians’ mindsets: comfort. Nearly everything Murians do is to make life require less effort, for them to be more comfortable in their everyday life. However, despite the comfort-seeking side of the general Murian vision of life, they do spring into action when this comfort is threatened, and with surprising force. Boasting the biggest population results in a mammoth number of great minds, which, in turn, results in many advancements made in the military and medical fields, ranging from weapons of mass destruction to injections designed to turn any common Murian into super soldiers. Another very important aspect of Murian society is entertainment: actors, filmmakers, writers, musicians, game designers… these are all extremely important jobs that are revered planet-wide.

Muria was the former home of the entirely artificial race that was baptised the HALFs, meaning Humanoid Automated Life Forms. The AI of these superior androids caused them to rebel against the Murians and started a huge war within Foses that lasted for centuries; there were two sides: pro-Murian and pro-HALF. Eventually, the HALFs managed to get what they wanted from the then street-covered, powerhungry, ‘under’developped Muria: full independence as well as their own planet, which they baptised EASP, meaning Entirely Artificial Super Planet. Now, the HALFs and the Murians hold a shaky truce, with the two species barely interacting. The current Murian society was created after the old capitalist Murian society failed and almost imploded.

Murian: Murians are the inhabitants of Muria, and are separated into three subspecies: Type-A, Type-B and Type-C. Each are different and have different abilities, making them all important on a military point of view. Of course, all Murians have rather unique abilities for organic beings as a result of tampering with their own DNA in the past: they do not require to breathe, meaning that they do not get exhausted in the traditional sense as they merely start aching, and are able to consume huge amounts of food with ease, for example. Similarly, they can survive with little to no food for days, though they absolutely need water. All Murians look a lot like humans, but can have any eye or hair color imaginable, with dyed hair, contact lenses and heterochromia being very common. Typically, Murians aren’t too pale as the lights in their houses keep them from going white as snow. They also all have pointed ears of differing sizes. Males and females have no differences in size, making height and weight dependent on the lifestyle and the subspecies. None of the subspecies is considered superior to the other, as everyone is equal no matter what. Murians have a natural lifespan of about 300 years, but machines can extend that to almost 1500 years in the most extreme cases.

Type-A Murian: Type-A Murians are the most common type of Murian as well as what could be considered the ‘true’ Murians. They are always very large and heavy, being 5’8” and weighing 300 pounds at the minimum (this is the smallest recorded Type-A). At the maximum, they can go up to 6’4” and have technically no weight limit, though the heaviest Murian weighed nearly 2400 pounds (and he was the leader of the capitalist Muria, surprise, surprise). With their predisposition to lots of excess weight, their entire body is extremely durable and strong (as in it can survive through a lot of pressure), meaning Murians can remain mobile up until they weigh 1000 pounds. Most of the time, though, they ‘become’ immobile at around 700 pounds, then needing one of the most successful Murian inventions: the HMPC, the Hovering Multi-Purpose Chair. Able to support well over 10 metric tons and still float, modify its size to accommodate the user and able to be moved through mental orders, most huge Type-As find this HMPC to be indispensable for their everyday life. It also has lots of gadgets that can be customised within it. Smaller Type-As may also get one just for the utility, but they are mainly used by the huge ones. Type-As are typically the much smarter Murians, though they have no particular abilities of their own. As a result, they depend on machines even more than the other Murian Types. They also tend to need either contact lenses or glasses due to genetically bad eyesight.

Type-B Murian: Type-B Murians are the second most common type of Murian and are born due to a common genetic mutation that makes them rather svelte and short as well as preventing them from ballooning into blobs of flesh. The largest Type-B was 5’9” and weighed 220 pounds while the smallest was 4’11” and weighed 70 pounds. The bad eyesight gene is eradicated in a large majority of Type-Bs, meaning they rarely, if ever, need anything to correct their sight. As is to be expected, they are much, much more agile than their fatter cousins and have more stamina, yet more fragile. Typically, they keep their hair long, have delicate features and are rather pompous and vain and have superiority complexes due to their smaller size. However, they are not as smart as the Type-As most of the time. They are the only Murians able to use magic, though only through channelling their mana through machines (which Soluscia does with her headphones to become a technopath). As a result, they are extremely important, militarily speaking. Some are also born with psychic powers.

Type-C Murian: Type-C Murians are the least populous type of Murian (though with the sheer number of Murians, it’s quite obvious that there’s still a very large amount of them) and for one reason: they are artificial beings at their core. Created after the HALF war to replace them a bit before the capitalist government fell, Type-Cs were used as slaves for a very short time before becoming accepted as normal Murians. Being created for slavery, Type-Cs are extremely tall, strong and durable, the smallest Type-C being 6’7” and the tallest, 8’2”. Their weight greatly varies, but only because they are always very muscled with different builds (i.e.: athletic, sumo, pro wrestler, bodybuilder, powerlifter, boxer, martial artist, etc.). Males and females are both equally muscled, which makes many of the other species of Foses find them repugnant. They are able to lift the heaviest recorded Type-A with ease and can survive direct laser blasts without any armor (though it still hurts them and bruises them). As a result, they’re often used as living tanks in the first line, militarily. They are almost universally close-range fighters, wielding giant weapons that befit their enormous strength. They tend to be less smart than Type-Bs, though there are quite a few Type-C intellectuals nonetheless. As a rule of thumb, the larger Type-Cs are more likely to be gruff while the smaller ones are friendlier.

Abilities: Pascaline is quite the prodigy in the power department: while many have typical powers like pyrokinesis and hydrokinesis, she has psychic powers in the form of telekinesis and mind-reading and, unlike her peers once more, has very advanced control over them, rivaling that of adults more than twice her age. Able to create powerful psychic waves at will (though not without earning herself a headache that gets worse with each attack) and to read people’s minds, it’s no surprise that Line is as feared as she is respected. She is also able to lift objects up to around 300 pounds, as anything between 300 and 400 pounds will greatly strain her and anything over 400 pounds is off-limits. Putting too much pressure on objects has the same effect as trying to lift something too heavy. She also can’t read people’s minds the ‘traditional’ way; instead she’s more of an empath, as in she can feel the people’s general mood and thoughts by concentrating on them. This allows her to lie with ease as she has practiced for her entire life to detect any slight feeling of distrust and then work to make that feeling vanish.

Despite what you’d think of a psychic master, Pascaline is far from lazy and inactive; she’s a dynamic teenager who has been trained vigorously by trained fighters (at her father’s request) so she could protect herself without her powers. As a result, though she lacks strength (which isn’t difficult to see), she is a swift, vicious striker who adopts a hit-and-run tactic more often than not. Though good unarmed, she feels much more comfortable with tonfas, which are her favored weapons. She is easily able to disarm sword users with only her tonfas, a testament to her skill.

Finally, Pascal’s most well-known ability is her mastery of puppetry and summoning. Using her father’s wealth to her advantage, the teenaged psychic has transformed Elf triplets (or rather, hand-picked the triplets and ordered her father’s underlings to transform them for her) into mindless puppets. Their names are Narvinye, Narie and Narquelie. Using colored orbs that match the color of their eye, Pascaline can summon them to do her bidding. The puppets act as meatshields and fighters, meaning that Pascaline rarely ever has to fight and even if she does, she rarely takes hits. The orbs are very small and she can summon them without expanding energy. From there, the orbs will summon the Elves, meaning she won’t expand energy at all to summon them.

Pascaline is a girl of average stature, standing at 5’6” and weighing around 120 pounds. She has pale skin and jaw-length blonde hair that is parted in the middle safe for her bangs, which are swept down and slightly cover her eyes at times. Line is always wearing a thin black hairband under her middle part but over her bangs, making the latter seem like they’re coming from under the rest of her hair. On the left part of her hair, she keeps two very long locks and wraps bandages around them, ending it with a loop. Those loops then have large (yet light) metallic rings inserted in them, giving Pascaline a rather unique look. Adding to this unique look are her blazing, firey orange eyes, which definitely pop out thanks to her pale skin. She also has very light freckles under said eyes. Her nose is long and narrow and her lips are thin, yet her eyebrows are rather large, getting thicker the nearer they are to her nose’s bridge. Unlike her pale blonde hair, they are a dark shade of dirty blonde.

Though often seen wearing clothes that are typically worn by tomboy rockers and punks, Pascaline wears the normal female uniform of her private college. The upper part consists of two layers: a white button-up shirt and a black jacket with navy blue sleeves. The jacket has a pop-up collar that is rolled down, showing a small yellow line near the rim. The sleeves typically reach the wrists, but Line opts to roll them up to her elbows. The only difference from the normal female uniform is that she has replaced the black tie by a red bow. Like most students, she keeps the jacket unbuttoned. Her modest curves also fit the white shirt perfectly.

For lower wear, the uniform all girls are obligated to wear has two variations: black pants, or a pleated navy skirt with pantyhose. Line opts for the latter, the skirt reaching her knees. For footwear, she wears black ballet flats instead of the typical black masculine shoes the girls are usually forced to wear. As far as accessories go, Pascaline wears brown leather fingerless half-gloves with a rectangular hole on the back of the hand. These gloves do cover her thumbs completely, however. On her right wrist she also wears two rubber wristbands: one golden and one magenta.

Personality: Spoiled beyond belief, as you’d expect from a girl whose parents are both billionaires, Pascaline is someone who technically would never have to leave her house and get a job, but she actually insists on going to school; for rather sinister reasons, but still. Line is incredibly selfish, like her parents, but she’s not as brutal as them, preferring more subtle methods to get her way. Though her mind-reading abilities are similar to that of an empath, Pascaline, once again like her parents, seems to lack empathy as a whole and doesn’t care if someone’s hurt or if she hurts someone. She can act as if she feels bad for someone, but more often than not it’s just that: acting.

While smarter than a large majority of people around her age, Pascaline is nowhere near genius-level intellect, though she likes to think she is. As a result, the psychic tends to look down on nearly anyone she meets, only really looking up to and respecting her parents; others are simply pawns, expendable tools to get what she wants. She truly has trouble seeing others as living beings with emotions, which would quite safely make her a sociopath as she lacks remorse due to not seeing others as people but merely objects.

Though unsurprisingly focused on material gain and riches, Pascaline doesn’t really wear expensive clothes, wearing more ‘masculine’ clothes like torn jeans and tanktops with band logos on them. As a result, she doesn’t really flaunt her extreme wealth with clothes and jewels, but she does abuse her power or rather, her parents’s power. Being the heir to their organisation, she is above everyone that isn’t her mother and father, meaning she can order people around as she wishes. Seeing as how she doesn’t see people as people, as previously mentioned, she can order them to do horrible things and has her parents’ organisation to protect her from the law, hence why she has her three Elven puppets and never got in trouble.

Speaking of her puppets, Pascaline takes great care of them, yet sees them only as tools; if they get damaged (not injured) then she’ll be upset because of how long it can take to repair them. She’s usually using them as meatshields and fighters, so they are, of course, extremely durable, which does limit the amount of times they get damaged. She takes great pride in her puppets and often has one out at all times, which tends to make people scared to approach her. The puppets’ eerie aura certainly helps in that regard too.

Contrary to many spoiled girls, Pascaline is patient and doesn’t have a short temper, though that doesn’t mean she tolerates incompetence, especially not if the ‘incompetent fool’ in question is not of any use to her anymore. She is also incredibly judgemental, trying to find flaws in people’s ways of thinking and seeing the world while ignoring her own flaws. Said flaws mainly revolve around her greed and selfishness, as she seems to think the world revolves around her and her parents. Her inflated opinion of herself is clearly visible in all her actions and in the way she speaks.

However, Pascaline rarely ever acts like the judgemental, greedy girl she is. Instead, she acts like a sweet, innocent, airheaded girl most of the time, which directly contrasts with her puppets’ eerie vibe. She does know when to ‘put’ them away to make her act that much more convincing, so when she’s trying to deceive her way to success, her puppets tend to be absent. Her acting is quite convincing, especially when people don’t know her at all. She’s also a compulsive liar, meaning that even when her act is ruined, it’s still impossible to tell if she’s telling the truth or not.

Pascaline’s selfishness means that she will put any and every life after hers. Her survival and well-being is at the top of her priority list, so having to “sacrifice a few pawns to save the king” is perfectly acceptable, if not somewhat frustrating, for her. To keep this true in her ‘alternate persona’, she acts as a bit of a coward and runs away at the first sign of danger, leading the others to fend for themselves. She’s able to cry on command, which adds to the effect of her being frightened.

History: Daughter of Line Contrino and Pascal Rutigliano, the two leaders of the mighty Rutigliano Organisation, which has considerable political power, Pascaline (whose name reflects the narcissism of her parents) was born in wealth and comfort, getting everything she could have ever wanted without even needing to ask for it. In a world where people are commonly born with magical abilities, Pascaline managed to stand out from the crowd when she learned that she could move objects without touching them or even being near them. This, of course, made her parents order their underlings to train their daughter as much as humanly possible, which has resulted in her amazing control over her powers.

As a result of her ridiculously pampered lifestyle, however, she has grown understandably egocentric and manipulative. Furthermore, the result of being taught by her parents, both of whom are incredibly cruel and uncaring of others being that Pascaline herself has grown to see people that aren’t her parents or herself as objects with limited shelf life. Unlike her parents, though, Pascaline trained to become more subtle by using her powers to tell when her lies didn’t work. By the time she was 10, she was already able to fool most adults with ease.

These self-taught acting ‘classes’ did come in handy for her parents as she was sent to a public school so she could show that the Rutigliano Organisation was well-meaning and wasn’t corrupted (which, if you hadn’t guessed, is completely false). Pascaline acted like a ditzy rich girl with a big heart and everyone believed her, which made her parents overjoyed and proud of their little girl. So much, in fact, that after two straight years of doing this, they started giving her even more presents than she already had, which made the greedy child happy. It was around then that she started gaining interest in puppets and dolls; after all, it was like buying smaller versions of Humans and Elves to her.

Within a year, Pascaline’s doll and puppet collection took up an entire, gigantic room in her mansion, and she strived for something bigger with more substance to it. These objects were made of wood, gears, metal and other things found in nature or made with technology… but living people were made of flesh and were easy to manipulate. It took until her sixteenth birthday to get what she desired, but Pascaline’s father’s scientists were able to make a machine that transformed people into obedient zombies, or puppets in Pascaline’s terms. During the summer vacation between the school years, her father traveled around the world with her so she could choose the puppets she wanted.

She chose Elven triplets named Narvinye, Narie and Narquelie for their immaculate, surreal white skin. The day after the two Rutiglianos came back home, the triplets were delivered to their front door. Immediately, they were shoved into the machine and after an excruciating process, came out as disfigured, zombie-like puppets with enhanced magical properties who listened to everything Pascaline said. Having lost their ability to speak, they could only make beast-like grunts and wheezes. Finding them ugly, Pascaline had their permanently disfigured faces fused with black, oval masks with eye openings that allowed their glowing, monotone eyes to be seen. Afterwards, they were adorned with jewelry to separate the now-black parts of their skin (which were the extremities of all four of their limbs) from the snowy white parts and to differentiate them from each other. Given gorgeous robes that revealed just enough of their ceremonial Elven tattoos as well made the triplets that much eerier. They were further modified to adapt to different forms of combat so they could protect the spoiled girl and do her bidding easily.

Abilities: Due to her equipment and sole purpose in life being to act as a witness, a leader and a living camera, 08 was created with stealth in mind. She is often able to go undetected by anyone but the most alert veterans in the streets. While she has self-defense related unarmed abilities, they are seldom used as she immediately signals all the nearby drones of anything she sees or happens to her. This is why she is called Queen Bee by many inhabitants of Neo Gaia: she is practically impossible to attack by herself as she is always surrounded by other drones. She is also extremely resistant to damage: it takes quite a bit to damage her a little and firearms won’t do much. Overall, 08 is supremely skilled at her only job and is a speedy, tricky foe to combat. If somehow alone, however, she will be much less dangerous. In the streets, however, no one even thinks about approaching her.

Equipment: The only thing 08 ever carries is her trusty camera, which can be set to broadcast to any nearby drones with all the information needed for an attack. It is built as if it were a gun and is wielded expertly by the drone as it was made only for her and she was created specifically for it. Pulling the trigger (because there’s a trigger) creates a bright flash that can allow an ambush to be set up. On the flat back of the filming device, opposite of the actual screen, is Tomoe’s symbol. The camera can also be used as a projector in times of need, as 08 is not only used by Tomoe. However, 08 is equipped with many recording, decoding and transmitting devices, which include her sensors, her antennae, her collar and things like her hands and feet also have such abilities. She also has access to many lights from her camera or her hands for when it’s too dark.

Appearance: Reference

08 is a very recent humanoid drone created by the mysterious Tomoe by request of the government and, as such, is still in a testing phase. She was designed specially to resemble a human as much as possible and the paranoid Japanese inventor certainly did their job well as 08 is almost literally indistinguishable from a living, breathing human being, even down to simulating breathing and eye blinking. To prevent the blinking from being harmful to her capabilities, 08’s eyelids are transparent from the inside, enabling her to see with her eyes closed. However, she seems to lack visible emotions. Being a drone, her facial features are perfect, being practically symmetrical. Her eyes are almost mesmerising and definitely unsettling, as they are wide-open and a deep blue hue. Her eyebrows and her hair (both fake, of course) are a nearly black shade of blue, the former being very small and thin and the latter reaching her shoulder blades while always seemingly being neatly combed. She also has a small pointed nose and a rather small mouth that gives her a stern, nearly emotionless appearance.

What makes 08 different from humans physically is quite striking, though it was a necessary addition to her design. Instead of ears, 08 has white oval headphone like devices that are attached to two small blue-tipped sensors on her cheekbones, these sensors allow Tomoe to monitor her extensively, more so than with any drone. Adding to the safety precautions is her white collar with a bar in the center which does the same job as the sensors; each tip of the horizontal bar (which goes through her neck) is pink and is integrated in the collar’s white. Last but not least, she has two small horn-like ‘airplane wings’ on each side of her head, with these ‘wings’ actually being powerful antennae. They are black with a wide horizontal mustard yellow stripe on the bottom side and they have two small pink blinking lights at the tips.

08’s uniform is as simple as it gets: a black and gray tight short dress with some yellow lines and tight pants of similar colors that also act as boots. No skin above the neck can be seen, as it is all covered with this uniform. The neck also has a thin yellow line at the rim. The yellow lines seen here and there on the outfit are generally angular, making slight zig-zag patterns. They are seen on her inner upper arms, on the inside part of her breasts, under her breasts (down to her navel) and the back of her shoulders. Her name is written on her left breast in a similar yellow font. On her back, there’s Tomoe’s signature mitsudomoe in bright yellow as well. 08 was created with a slender build to accentuate athleticism, infiltration and agility in general, so she has an athletic build with a slight pear shape, having hips larger than her shoulders. She wears simple black gloves at all times as well. The gray on the mainly black outfit is also distributed evenly: in a zipper-like line on her front and on her upper arms and shoulders, fading into the black in an alternating alveola-like pattern, as if they were puzzle pieces meant to fit with each other. Her pants do the same at the thigh, the gray once again being on top of the black. Finally, she has an oval pink light just under her neck.

Personality: Being a nearly emotionless drone, 08 has very little personality of her own, but she does have some sort of sentience that enables her to analyse situations and adapt realistically. She also, rather surprisingly, is developping her own little set of morals little by little. They are more or less undefined right now, but it sometimes causes her to act in an unnatural way, such as deciding not to alert nearby drones of someone’s presence. However, 08 is absolutely devoted to her job and seems to rather enjoy it. She also has a bit of pride in what she does, knowing that she’s better than the other drones at her job. She also likes getting praised, especially since it’s such a rare occurrence. She seems to get a little too curious sometimes too, though she often gets back to work after a minute or two. She also seems to like simple games when she has to return to base; she is often found playing with small things like coins and dice when she’s there, seemingly enjoying trying to predict the results. Unsurprisingly, though, 08 is undeniably and thoroughly loyal to her superiors and wouldn’t even think about betraying them.

Name: Tomoaki “Tomoe” Sekiguchi

Abilities: Tomoaki doesn’t have many outstanding abilities; her cybernetic augmentations do give her impressive yet less-than-superhuman attributes, but she never gets to use them to their full extent, instead using them to work more and to give better results. What Tomoaki does have, however, is otherworldly intellect, being by far one of the smartest beings on the entire planet. While it doesn’t always shine through due to her paranoia and her short temper, Tomoaki truly is an absolute genius that is very well protected within Neo Gaia.

Equipment: While she doesn’t carry any weapons usually, Tomoaki does have access to a multitude of weapons, many of which are experimental, and thus potentially unstable, in nature. With her cybernetic augmentations she is able to wield heavy weapons without much trouble, which can certainly help her. She’s much more of a strategist and tactician than a fighter, however, so these weapons are all there for security measures only.

Appearance: The symbol that is present on all of Tomoe’s creations and whenever she addresses someone from a screen.

Tomoaki is a rather unsettling 5’8” woman both in appearance and in personality: something just seems off about her and it can give even the toughest, most hardened of men goosebumps when she gets started. With her skin being a sickly grayish-yellow hue and her eyes being a dull navy color that seems tinted gray as if she was going blind, Tomoe can seem downright scary and like she doesn’t even belong in Neo Gaia. Add those to the fact that she’s so scrawny that her neck area looks like it should belong to an anorexic old woman, that a few parts of her body are entirely mechanical (including part of her head), that her voice is somewhat raspy in an unnatural way (result of a half-failed experiment) and that her body is covered in strange vitiligo-like markings on her body (which include a port-wine stain birthmark on the left side of her head) and you have a very creepy looking woman. Furthermore, Tomoaki is completely bald, like a chemotherapy patient, lacks eyebrows and has a scarred and wrinkled forehead, which makes her look both older and more menacing.

As one can see with one glance in her direction, Tomoaki is much more brains than brawn, so much that she’s able to turn the former into the latter by creating various weapons. Tomoaki is also clearly not an outside person as one can see from her physical condition, having to rely on machines to keep her body functionning. She is bone-thin, having very gaunt and caved-in facial features, virtually non-existant curves and visible bones at many places, like the ribs, spine and joints. Over her chest is a large metallic plate that covers enough skin for her to go out half-naked if she so wished, with this plate being attached to most of her organs to pump nutrients and energy into them. There are also some IV-like cables in her wrists at all times which go all the way to her shoulder blades. Tomoaki truly looks more like a creature from a nightmarish land more than a Neo Gaian.

Her clothing tastes are simple: black bodysuit under white trenchcoat. That is literally all she’ll ever wear as she very rarely leaves her laboratory. The trenchcoat does have her trademark symbol on the back, as does her bodysuit on the front. Both do have holes in them to allow the cables to not be squished uncomfortably on her thin skin, however. The bodysuit is extremely tight, having no folds at all no matter what. Furthermore, it also includes her footwear, which is simply high-heeled boots that make a very satisfying clack with each step yet also let her dart around her laboratory faster than you’d expect her to, with this and her general strength being all due to the modifications she did to her body.

Personality: A highly secretive woman who seems to avoid human interaction as if it were the plague, Tomoaki is someone who is quite clearly paranoid to the point of being insane. Absolutely untrusting of anyone who isn’t already unquestionably trusted by her superiors or of anything not created by her, Tomoaki practically lives in her bunker of a laboratory. She doesn’t trust food, drinks, anything, which explains her pitiful physical state. In fact, not many people even know what she looks like, or even if she’s a man or a woman. This is due to the fact that her laboratory is deeply hidden within Japanese territory and can only be accessed from a single entrance which is in a place so out of reach that it cannot be accidentally discovered by the common folks of Neo Gaia as well as the fact that whenever she communicates with anyone, she makes absolutely sure that even the best hackers would be unable to find her location or personal information. She even uses a strongly encrypted voice modulator to hide her voice and, if she speaks from a screen that has video, all that will be seen is her trademark symbol, a mitsudomoe. This fact is also somewhat of a play on her alias, which is all a very large majority of people know her as: Tomoe.

As you might have guessed already, Tomoaki is an absolute genius and tech-wiz. Easily able to outsmart many Asian high-ups as well as tactically brillant, Tomoaki’s secret is her paranoia, which forces her to pay attention to every little detail and find a way to counter every single fault, no matter how tiny it may be. As a result, her plans take a very long time to hatch and are riskless, yet have a practically perfect success rate whenever it’s possible. The first fact is quite obviously Tomoe’s main weakness: she’s all brains and without time, she’s useless. However, she, as always, has a way to remedy that: distractions. From her H.Q., Tomoaki may keep an eye on the entirety of Neo Gaia (though not all at once, sadly, for it is too large) and dispatch her drones (and only hers) in key locations. In fact, speaking of drones, Tomoaki is one of the main drone creators: she’s the one who makes the more unique and specialised ones (like the recent 08 model that is currently being tested) while also, like all the others, creating run-of-the-mill grunt patrols. Of course, all these grunts can be recognised by her signature symbol, and some say they are stronger than other grunts. As such, seeing Tomoe’s drones is usually a very bad thing and her drones are feared more than other drones in general. She is also (quite blissfully) unaware of Inferus, like the entirety of the government.

Quite admirably, however, Tomoe is not one to betray her allies or to get rid of ‘unwanted’ ones. Less admirably, she will usually make them useful by modifying them, usually by force. She doesn’t trust 99% of people, after all, so she has to do everything to make them trustworthy in her mind, which can range from lobotomisation, brainwashing or simply transforming them into obedient robots; she has the knowledge and talent required for such tasks. It’s rather obvious that Tomoe lacks morality, as doing such heinous deeds does not bother her in the least; in fact, she believes it’s for the greater good. She feels no true attachment to any human being, only working with the government because she shares the same goal as them. Attachment to her creations, however, is definitely and clearly present, as she will keep a grudge on whoever destroys something of hers.

Tomoaki is a very negative being, rarely ever feeling positive emotions such as happiness. Instead, she seems to exude resentment, bitterness, seriousness and sarcasm, which accentuate her intimidating aura. She is also very snippy and closed to arguments: it’s her way or the highway. She firmly believes she is superior to the same percentage of people she doesn’t trust, the very reason she believes they are all after her. They must be jealous of her intellect, her abilities, her talents, after all! When people are in the same room as her, she uses her surprising charisma to dominate them verbally, often pacing around with her arms crossed tightly across her flat chest. Despite her tiny build, she is intimidating and absolutely scary.

Tomoe has a hard time giving someone any respect, treating a vast majority of people as if they were lower than dirt. She raspily barks orders from her intercoms and is generally disrespectful and impatient, often even insulting her ‘servants’. Add this to a short temper and it leads to a lot of keyboard/desk punching. Due to her throat and lungs’ poor conditions, yelling too much also triggers coughing fits. Earning her respect is a monumental achievement, something that is definitely worth gloating about. Unfortunately, not many people have achieved such a thing, so not many will believe it.

History: Not much is known about Tomoe’s past as she refuses to disclose any of it save for a few things, often relating to many illnesses and betrayals, hinting that her childhood is the source of her extreme paranoia which gradually led to her insanity. A lack of friends soon became normal for the young Tomoe and an eventual lack of trust for the outside world ended up with her secluding herself from Neo Gaia, only truly coming out once to move her make-shift laboratory, which she used to pass the time more than anything, to a professional and highly hidden bunker-like one when she was recruited by the Neo Gaian leaders, only accepting after they gained her trust, which took a very long time. Then, her physical condition deteriorated due to her insane paranoia and led to her actually turning herself into a cyborg with the help of the few people she trusted. Afterwards, her achievements grew exponentially and she became a faceless, undetectable force within the government, ruling over many of the drones, and thus the streets of the Neo Gaian Districts, with an iron, bony fist.

-Abilities: Iwao possesses no abilities of the traditional sense such as magic or mechanical. In all honesty, he is simply human; however, he does have his distinct character traits. For one thing, his ability to tolerate pain is quite exceptional. Blood wounds, or perhaps even dying, mean very little to him. In actuality, such a feeling as pain he does not recognize. Instead by fueling such pain into determination, he does not notice what he would consider trivial. While this might be arrogance, a lack of care for oneself, it suits his personality well. Additionally, his ability to withdraw most emotions within himself makes him difficult to calculate While it is true that his tendencies are similar, they in themselves are impressive as he receives no reprimand for such actions.

Beyond hose physical and emotional traits, Iwao is quite exceptional in combat as well. Somewhat of a tactician, but primarily a rash fighter, he uses brute force and mobility to outclass his opponents. Trained in duel sword combat, he is quick, precise and efficient. Using his lean figure to advantage, his only downfall is naturally range, that which his is limited. His counter for such combat, continue mobility which only leaves his lack of defensive attire as a weakness.

-Equipment: Iwao's weapon of choice are two folding swords. When fully extended they reach roughly three feet in length, hovering a few inches above the ground. They fold to half length via a trigger located in the hilt and attached to the leather belt tied about his waist. Primarily black and silver in color, it is agile ad durable. Swung in unison, Iwao is able to attack from an acceptable range while still remaining close enough to put enough force behind the blows to allow them to be efficient. Thin and sharp, they are crafted to create long gashes rather than deep wounds. Comprised of multiple components, the sword contains an engine in the hilt which allows the folding process to occur. Additionally, when folded, the sharpest edge of the sword is folded in on itself, creating no need for sheath.

The bottom of the hilt i silver while the remainder is black. The base of this hilt and the cross are silver. The blade itself is primarily silver with three black rectangular notches directly beneath the cross. Additionally, a thin strip and grooved notches on the dull side of the blade, are black in color. Ultimately, they were made with their mechanics intent in mind, that is the folding ability. Therefore their aesthetic qualities are of a lesser importance than simple unity. Their secondary unique quality lies in the method in which they are used. That is with great force as well as maneuverability.

-Personality: Commander Iwao prefers to be referred to as Commander rather than Iwao being it is a proclamation of his rank and symbolization of respect towards his position as head of command. Demanding respect, he is a ruthless and outspoken leader. Unafraid of his subordinates, he makes it very clear from day one that his word is law and that his way is the only way. Authoritative in tone, he demands the utmost loyalty and determination equal to his own. Failure to uphold his standards results in verbal abuse, a common choice of speaking to his ragtag bundle of troops. Unafraid to yell, to be strict, he gets in the faces of him men, demanding attention. They are to obey every command without question.

Carrying his crop, he executes an air of intimidation. Often smacking it against his own hand while in speech, he does so with the intent to inflict fear within the hearts of his men. Doing so isn't very difficult afterall. Iwao's main form of command centers around the prospect o fear and his command over it. His greatest weapon in creating such fear are the methods in which he inflicts punishment. The very small degree to which he will is equally disconcerting. Failure to follow command, questioning of his orders, or simply speaking out of turn will be enough to inflame his rage. Turning on the one at fault, he will question, making them squirm. If not resolved in a timely fashion he simply punishes the one at fault.

His punishments are violent and involve threats and pain towards the accused. If the crime be of great enough significance, such as treason, Iwao just might flat out kill the accused. The best part about his methods of punishment, he can't be punished in return. Standing up against him directly is futile. Such efforts he simply laugh at and in retaliation, equal if not worse punishment is transferred to this second offender being such words are defying his command. Actions against him or the government are completely intolerable. Demanding the utmost loyalty, Iwao is of strong resolve and determination. Such qualities make him suited for his command despite its highly unorthodox methods. The simple truth is that he is too good at what he does to actually take action against him.

Due to his stubborn fits of rage, those subordinates which remain under his command are some of the toughest in all of Neo Gaia. Able to navigate the minefield that is the Commander, they are strong of mind and body. Despite his harsh tactics, Iwao has great pride of his subordinates. They are an unmatchable force of those strong enough to pass not only his test but the test of time. Surviving, they are resilient and a force to be reckoned. Being Commander of such a force brings great pride to him, never shy to exclaim the glory of his subordinates.

While it may appear difficult to new recruits, the minefield that is their Commander, it is far easier than expected if one is willing to adopt his traits. Quite typically Iwao's expression is devoid of interest and emotion; however, this does not mean him to be unobservant. In actuality, his attention is quite extensive. He simply chooses to show little outward response to it. In this way, he comes across as cold which is the first indication of the sadistic age that lies beneath. The truth though is that it is when Iwao shows emotion that one should become wary. Smiles indicate dark thoughts while full blown demonic hints towards the pain to come. He finds great pleasure in the torturous acts he commits, often exhibiting a crazed and sadistic look. However, he too can feel small amounts of compassion and fear.

Unafraid to rush blindly into combat, he has little fear for his physical being. In actuality, he lives by the mentality that if one is still breathing, they can still fight. This is something he instructs greatly to his subordinates, expecting them to match his own efforts. At the head of command, on the first lines, Iwao is both a leader and a figure of courage; even if such courage is simply blind determination. Pushing himself beyond human limitations, as long as the threat still stands, he will continue on. He will do whatever necessary to ensure the safety of the power he serves. This often leads to him being battered and bruised. Being a physical fighter, his style of combat is quick and heavy, causing the most harm at the closest range possible.

Wounds mean very little to him. Ignoring the pain, he uses such feelings to drive him forward. In this way he is irrational but also possessing of great strength. Despite all the edginess and fear he imposes, what hurts him most is the downfall of his highest subordinates. Those that work directly with him are those that he does truly care about although he would never admit it. If one were to fall he would be emotionally hurt; however, such pain would be masked by an ever growing hatred of those which took his subordinate. For him to outwardly express fear or pain indicates a breaking in his mental resolve. Additionally, any compassion given towards him is equally pushed aside. He will exclaim that they are being irrational and that their accusations are in actuality false, even if doing so requires him to be lying.

Although he may find some support for humans, he finds very little for beings of mechanical nature. In actuality, he highly distrusts drones, finding their programming limiting and their given loyalty unreassuringly. He views them as lifeless beings with only the intent to serve humans, although not under his command. This dislike is not frequently hidden either. More often than not, Iwao openly belittles and degrades both drones and their creators. In fact, he's not against destroying them and often does so as an exclamation of authority. He takes things very seriously. Using his influence over his subordinates to maintain a strong core within his ranks. He ultimately expects them to follow his command for fear of the consequences.
