Remember wrap? I remember in pokemon stadium i would always have trouble against lance in gym leader castle because of it. He always used this strategy with his dragonaire:
Thunder Wave and wrap! He pwned all of my pokemanz, even my mewtwo! Post your experiences with wrap. -------------------- If you like to ROM Hack, click the link below. Heh, it was the opposite with me. I was the kind of person would do wrap, thunder wave, poison, and all that good stuff. It drove everyone I know crazy in pokemon stadium when we were having battles.
Leech seed. Possibly my favorite cheap move in pokemon EVER. -------------------- Tofu: the other white not-meat

I never really had trouble with it really. I never used it either because I hate how it functioned in the 1st gen.

Wrap can be a decent move, but I've never used it as a main tactic.

One of my experiences isn't with Wrap, but with FIRE SPIN. In pokemon Stadium Blaine SPAMMED THIS MOVE With his Rapidash and I couldn't move. He KO'd all 3 of my Pokemon and I raged so hard. ;-;

The worst combination of all is to poison the other person and then use Wrap/Bind/etc.
I forget who, but somebody in Pokemon Stadium did that to me. I think it was a Bug Catcher... who knocked out my Nidoking with a Butterfree. -------------------- |

Para + wrap is bad, but poison + wrap is worse, and poison/para + wrap + leech seed = you're screwed.

Oh geez, I hated that move! >__<
It only seemed to work when used against me, my Pokemon seemed to miss half the time, and eventually I just stopped using it. -------------------- |

I hated that move. It's so hard to beat someone who spammes the moves with Bind/wrap. I can't beleave they put it in PmdRRT. Going down to groudon, and there are like... thousands of high lvled Onyxs that know bind. They use it all the time and kill me when I'm 1 floor away from getting to Groudon....

The wrap/bind tactic was useful in the 1st gen until Gamefreak decided to turn it into an attacking Block/Spiderweb/Mean look move.
I remember once when I was in the final stage of the PokeCup/ Masterball tournament in Stadium 1 and I had a Charizard that was paralyzed and had less than an eighth of its hp left and I spammed Firespin against a Dragonite and right when it needed one mopre attack from my Charizard, its Slam attack hit and I lost the tournamrnt. Rage ensued for the rest of the week. But in reality, no matter how you look at it, the Wrap/Status tactic was a popular and effictive tactic in the first generation. -------------------- |

Like many, I also find Wrap to be annoying.
It's quite fun if you're the one using it, though. -------------------- |
