Ken Sugimori... You just made my hit-list. JK But really I like everything about the gen.6 games better than the other games except for some Pokemon. The only thing I would revert back to how it was, is how they just combined the Pokemart and the Pokecenter. Idk why, but I just liked it the old way.

There's those new terrain moves and those ultra situational moves like Powder, too (use it, and the next time the enemy uses a Fire move, they'll take damage). Like seriously, half this crap can be cut. Protect clones, a ton of Doubles/Triples specific moves, ultra situational moves and stat dropping moves that nobody will ever end up using (although they are oriented toward the special stats, which are sorely underrepresented in the ring of stat dropping moves), just retcon those back out and the game is a billion times less complicated right there. Grassy Terrain sounds like a nice way to bypass the duplicate items rule if you give someone Leftovers, but that's it.
Electrify? Why not make an ability for that? Ion Deluge, seriously? You made a move and it's clone in the same game? Fairy Lock? Why not just buff Mean Look, Block, and Spider Web, all of which are clones al-damn-ready?! Land's Wrath? Did you not see Earthquake, Magnitude, and Bulldoze, all of which are preferable due to having higher BP or at least having a side effect if not? Play Nice? Why? Was Growl not good enough? On the same note, cut either Leer or Tail Whip, because they both do the same thing, too. I'm all for cleaning up the move and ability lists if they do it right. I get a strong, nagging feeling that they'll mess it up, though. The "return to simplicity" in Pokemon designs and the overall worship of gen 1 is what I don't appreciate. If I wanted to play gen 1, I'd play gen 1. Santalune Forest is a direct copy of Viridian Forest, for crying out loud. Go ahead and remake gen 1 (again) so you can get it over with, I can skip it, and we can move on to ingenuity and creativity once more. I don't completely mind there being fewer new Pokemon per gen, though it does make me a little disappointed, but if there's going to be fewer pokemon AND they won't be as inspired, count me out. I'll do what I do with OS's and buy every other/every three gens. -------------------- |

I was watching MunchingOrange yesterday, adn realized just how much Diancie looks like an evolution for Carbink. Honestly I hate Carbink, but Diancie is somewhat ok I guess. And, yes , a lot of the crap moves that they introduced in gen. 6 should be cut, renamed, or repurposed. Take Blech into example, its a great move with a crappy name.

No joke, I actually thought Mega Latias and Latios were the same Pokémon :|
AND HOW ARE WE TALKING ABOUT GEN 7 ALREADY. SERIOUSLY, CREATORS OF POKÉMON. WE HAVE ONLY JUST GOTTEN GEN 6. I can't help seriously feeling that these generations are coming TOO thick and fast And honestly, some of the moves that could be culled, are useless in my eyes, and I never use them, so it won't be a great loss. Seriously, I don't know what half of the moves that are stat-reducing/boosters even do anymore. I thought Play Nice was actually a cute little addition, along with Fairy types. I still never used it, though. -------------------- I do gaming videos! Please have a look! Emmagurd's Youtube My fiancé does gaming videos for Minecraft, PVK and other stuff! Please take a look! Play Nice was a cute addition, and I'd like it to stay over Growl when the snipping happens, but that was just one of the examples I picked of GF complicating things 5 minutes before they started complaining of complications.
My personal speculation is that GF is going to start releasing shorter, smaller gens, but they'll be released a lot faster, possibly at the expense of 3rd versions. The whole time period between BW, BW2, and XY might have been experimentation with the model. It's smart from a business standpoint: They noticed that people were holding out on buying the pairs for buying the third version. Well, this'll put a stop to that, because there will no longer be a third version. There'll just be rapid-fire pairs. In XY, the whole sidequest with the hiker anviliciously nudging to you that you'll be visiting his mystery region soon and him giving you a statue of his region's legend makes the notion stronger. Couple all that with the statement made about how fewer Pokemon per gen are going to be a regular thing, and it screams "more money for less hassle". It's nothing but wins for GF across the board. Maybe every other newstyle!gen will have a battle frontier or other big ticket novelty feature to keep people buying. -------------------- |

Guys, I see nothing in the linked post that says Sugimori actually said moves would be cut. That all looked like fan speculation.

Going back over it, no, he doesn't specifically state it, but the juxtaposition of the phrases "It is impossible to decrease the amount of Pokémon, and such a move is assumed to be uncalled for..." and "...but some fans have claimed that it might be better to significantly organize/trim the moves, abilities, items, etc." makes it sound like they're at least strongly considering it if nothing else. It read like: "This one option is too extreme, but this here? This seems doable. Let's do that." It gave the effect that cuts were intended to be implied in the statement. The notion simply sounds odd, whether they do it or not, because cuts/simplifications of anything in pokemon are rarely discussed (to my knowledge, anyway).
Also: "...Sugimori commented that they will not add more layers of complexity, but rather revert back to simplicity..." Another keyword that made it seem like some removals were confirmed to be happening. [My earlier posts were more utter confusion than pure rage. Looking back over them, they do look angry. Sorry about that. D:] -------------------- |

They look awesome. I really want shiny Yveltal. He posted shiny MegaLati@s and the shiny event trio on his twitter not too long ago. I really hate this shiny locking that GF has gotten into the habit of for legends. ;_; Just let people soft reset for them or get them naturally. EDIT: Aaand Bulbagarden is whining about the game being ruined while falsely attributing this "ruination" to Datel/Action Replay. Cheat codes can't modify Pokemon yet. Only items. You have to modify the game AND 3DS yourself (due to the new save method in gen 6) to get any actual pokemon modification done. (I hate when this happens, but I heard some new info,so... :/)
Az's Floette is a useable pokemon, is referred to as the "eternal flower" form, has a signature move called "Light of Ruin" (140 base power Fairy type move), and has a BST of 551. Smealum was able to encounter one way back when he found Diancie, Hoopa, and Volcanion, but with the newest updates of the new Powersaves tool, someone was able to get one and use it. Seen in action here. -------------------- |
