I've had some noteworthy experiences with tipping lately. After tipping 10,000 at Restaurant Le Yeah, *available after completing all challenges within the requested amount of turns I pokeradared a Skiddo in no less than seven encounters. The weird thing is, catching the Skiddo didn't cause my chain to break, so it wasn't actually a radar grab to my knowledge. I had a similar experience with a wild encounter and a Ducklett.
This was about 5 tipping sessions with the Ducklett, and only 1 with Skiddo... Perhaps it does not stack, perhaps Poke Radar makes these rates more apparent, or perhaps it's one big fat coincidence. Please share your thoughts and experiences, thank you. |

This is an interesting theory and I'd like to test it out. I'll try it myself and post results but it seems like something that would be included in the setting they have given us. With all the other bonuses why not?

I had an encounter with a shiny after only eight "rounds" or so without tipping anything and it didn't break the chain either. Why do you think catching a shiny would break a chain? Catching any other Pokémon isn't breaking the chain either, right? The goal of the Poké Radar is to find the same Pokémon over and over again after all, finding a shiny is just... let's say a nice secondary effect
Of course, it's just my experience and tipping really does make it a little bit easier to find a shiny, that's a rumour that's around quite a while. But I don't believe it. |

"To my knowledge" was the point, because I'm not sure. Perhaps they don't break the chain in the first place. Anyone know?
