There are so many new abilities! This will surely change competitive battling.



And I believe Big Bidoof cause Nintendo to put in a new ability. In the Dream World, Bidoof has inconsistent, which causes his stats to go wildly up and down in no set pattern. Sound familiar?

If only you would be able to obtain these said abilities by evolving pokemon transferred from Gen IV like how it was possible to get Magic Guard on a Gen III Clefable, instead of relying exclusively on Dream World...

If I'm understanding Ditto's new ability right, there's no reason for him to even have a moveset any more aside from him needing to so the game doesn't glitch (and of course for the old ones without the ability.

You transform into the Pokémon in front of you - ie your opponent.

I love water absorb and all but it should be fun to play with a quagsire with unaware as an ability.

Oh and starters without set starter abilities = <3

I'm pretty disappointed that Aakeosu doesn't have a dream world ability - its current one is a real letdown. But I am pleased with Jaroda's Perversity ability, especially with Leaf Storm.

Tyranitar suddenly got a suddem boost in amazingness. Flash Fire... *shudders* THINK about how powerful his fire moves would be?! And Blaze? XD Owned. Speed Boost Blaziken. Blaziken will probably get moved to OU now.

I jumped for joy when I saw that it had that, because I hate Infernape. Along with Nitro Charge, Blaziken is going to be scary with that ability.

And Tyranitar doesn't have Flash Fire. It has Tension, which is pretty good if you want to keep your opponent from eating its Liechi/Salac Berry. Sand Stream is still more useful, though.

I think you were referring to Typhlosion. Jeez, think of what would happen if you switched it into a Fire-type move and then used Eruption...

Dream World abilities are breedable... If the mom has them though...

Which means I can possibily get a Pichu with LightningRod if I get a female Pikachu through Dream World.

Well, as I said earlier, I really like Gliscor with Poison Point, the new Speed Boost Pokemon... I believe there was more, but those are the ones that I can remember clearly.
And Drought Ninetails. (And Politoed with Drizzle) One of the most overrated Pokemon ever is now actually useful.
The Pokemon with Plus and Minus (Mareep and Electrike line respectively) and Herbivore Marill line are cool too.

EDIT: And I hate how the ability has to be on the mother. Everything is dependent on the freaking mother. IF I ALREADY HAD THE POKEMON WITH THE ABILITY, NATURE, SPECIES AND IVS I WANTED, I WOULDN'T BE BREEDING TO GET IT! Let the father pass down something besides moves for once.

Really? Counting this one I see two. Guess I'm not searching enough... (Besides this is the most active.)

Huge Power Azumarril is better than Herbivore Azumarril IMO though. Sure Immunity from Grass type attacks is great and a free attack bonus with each hit, with a Bullet Seed partner that has Skill Link your Azumarril can get a +5 attack bonus freely, but without Huge Power you're just getting Azumarril up to Huge Power's attack level anyway. You also can't benefit from any Baton Passed Attack boosts because you're still using boosts, and there's a limit.

That and Azumarril can't learn Ice Punch this gen, which would be really handy against Grass types. Sure it can learn Ice Beam and Blizzard but Azumarril's Sp. Atk is unimpressive to use.

Of course, Focus Punch is no longer a TM so Huge Power Azumarril lost one of it's biggest attacks... At least from my point of view...



The whole breeding aspect is depended upon the mother in case you as the player would like the Dream World Pokemon to use Egg Moves. Also, not every pokemon you will receive in Dream World will have the perfect IVs, Stats, Nature, Etc. so this is why the mechanical to pass down Dream World abilities was implemented.
