A new add-on for the Battle Tower is now partially available today: the Battle Subway. In the Battle Subway, users will be able to face an endless stream of randomly-selected, increasingly-difficult NPCs, attempting to defeat as many in a row as possible without losing. You'll also get rewards based off of how long your streak is.

I say partially available today, as the actual battling portion of it isn't ready yet, as there aren't any trainers in the Battle Subway - because you haven't created them yet. All of the trainers in the Battle Subway will be entirely user-created, from your Pokemon that you've already raised. You'll be able to submit teams of nine Pokemon to the Battle Subway that will then be used in other users' Battle Subway sessions. As an added incentive to submit great teams, you'll also receive small bonuses the more victories your submitted teams accumulate. More details are available in the Battle Subway tab of the Battle Tower.

Battles in the Battle Subway will be exclusively in the level 75-100 bracket, and using six Pokemon. This is because it's the most common battle type done in the Battle Tower, and most people raising Pokemon for battling will do so for this bracket as well, so I felt it was the most appropriate way to do it.

Submissions will be open immediately, however the actual battling portion won't be ready till (hopefully) sometime within the week. The release date will also depend on how many teams are submitted, so be sure and submit a few teams over the next few days to expedite the process! Enjoy, and feel free post any questions you may have here (after reading the Battle Subway tab!), yup yup.

UPDATE: Everyone can now use the Battle Subway! For the time being, however, no rewards are given, while we determine appropriate ones (based off of data collected during this time), and determine difficulty ratings for each trainer, yup yup.

UPDATE #2: Two small changes to how your submitted trainers are managed - you can now delete trainers you don't wish to keep any more, and also, due to how overwhelmingly successful submissions have been, we've placed a cap of 5 enabled trainers per user at any time. You're still able to submit as many as you like, however, if you have five trainers that are enabled new ones will be automagically disabled (and to enable them, you'll need to disable other trainers first). Users who had more five trainers enabled had any after their first five disabled (however you may still go in, disable any of those first five and enable other ones if you like). Currently, there are over 1 400 submitted trainers that are active (with about 1 800 that have been submitted in total). We'll also be going in and disabling/deleting trainers where users have just mashed the keyboard to fill in all the text boxes, so please ensure that when you're submitting trainers that you don't do this! We'll also have a means to report things like this, or any inappropriate text in the future, yup yup.

UPDATE #3: Rewards are now live! You can get four different items out of the Battle Tower. The most common is a new set of Misc. Items - Vitamins, of which there are one per stat. Giving a Pokemon a Vitamin will boost the corresponding IV by 1, however the IV can't exceed 31, and a Pokemon may only be given a total of 6 Vitamins. You'll also be able to obtain Battle Tower Items - there aren't any new ones added right now, however they're all available.

Finally, there are two new account upgrades - Exp. All and Battle Expansion. Exp. All awards 75% (which may change) of all EXP gains in the Battle Tower and Vs. Seeker to all Pokemon in your party, and the Battle Expansion (of which you may earn up to four currently) allows an additional 9 Pokemon to be placed in the Battle Tower (to a max of 54 Pokemon now, with all four expansions).

With exception to Battle Tower Items, all of these items will be available exclusively via the Battle Subway. You'll also be able to win Vitamins and Battle Tower Items as your submitted teams defeat other trainers, but that isn't active yet. Note that these new items won't work on the old site.
