Info: species: Heatran National Dex entry: 485 (4th Gen.) Ability: Flash Fire Battle effect: When Pokémon is hit by a Fire attack, the power of the Pokmon's Fire moves are boosted 1.5x. base stats HP: 91 Attack: 90 Defense: 106 SpAtk: 130 SpDef: 106 Speed: 77 now let's get down to some good 'trans, no? good heatran sets stealth rock heatran? NO WAI! Heatran@Leftovers Ability: Flash Fire Nature: Bold EVs: 252 HP, 120 Def, 136 Sp. Atk - Lava Plume/Flamethrower - Stealth Rock - Metal Sound - Earth Power/Dark Pulse The only reason why this thing can even work is Metal Sound. Metal Sound can force so many switches, its just amazing. If they don't switch, its more amazing. 30% min on a max HP Blissey if you use Lava Plume. Anything else is as good as dead. For this, I'd prefer lava plume since its more of utility than anything. Last slot is down to preference and team. EVs designed to survive CB Jolly Weavile's Brick Break. TankTran! Heatran @ Leftovers Ability: Flash Fire Nature: Bold EVs: 252 HP 140 Def 116 Sp.Atk - Will-o-Wisp - Flamethrower - Protect - Earth Power/Dark Pulse With Heatran's great resistances, this can work fairly well. Switch into a move this big guy resists and wisp on the switch. Protect stalls time for Lefties to heal you and scouts for CB attacks. Not to mention, it speeds up the burning up process. well, not finished. will finish tonight/in the morning before work. -------------------- |

/ Trojan Horse (Heatran) (M) @ Choice Scarf Ability: Flash Fire EVs: 4 HP/252 Spd/252 SAtk Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef) - Fire Blast - Earth Power - Hidden Power [Ice] - Explosion Choice Scarf Heatran is the most used Heatran at the moment. It should really be included. -------------------- |

I have to admit, at first I figured Heatran as a bad legendary, but, after recently training & battling with one, I am surprised. Comes in handy for type resistance and super effective fire attacks. Plus, it makes for a good Revenge Killer.

Choice scarf heatran may be useful, but a HP ice naďve heatran is hard to get legitimately =/

Yeah...
But that's just one option. You can also choose HP Grass or Dragon Pulse. -------------------- |

] stealth rock heatran? Flamethrower adds a little bit more power, that could come in handy. Its also worth mentioning the burn rate which is even better for annoying the opponent. Why dark pulse? I think dragon pulse or hp ice, might be better. Why? because it hits everything for neutral, except steel and the fire moves take care of steel. I think Taunt should be considered, it will only allow pokemon to use attack moves. Sine it is a tank, you could always, go for magma storm, while there is 70% chance it will hit, it is also like sandstorm with some extra damage each turn. Obviously, it would be great in addition to will-o-wisp. Also instead of will-o-wisp, you could use toxic, since damage gets higher each turn iirc. well, not finished. will finish tonight/in the morning before work. I think that a bulky choice specs set would work, as well as a choice scarf set. Bulky choice specs/life would probably have 252hp and 136 in attack and evs spread out, in defence, would probably be great for absorbing and dishing out hits This post has been edited by TyraniBoah: Aug 4 2010, 07:28 PM -------------------- |
