I actually can't wait for this.
If need be I shall steal my friend's 3DS and the game. Knowing him he'd get it. -------------------- Don't forget to love yourself. Add me for daily clicks: 873/1000 --- Community Thread Shiny List! --- Breeding Incentives: Mission Cards |

One reply? That's it? I thought we had more FE fans here...
Possible discussion points: -- Game Mechanics you want to see -- Maybe a comparable hard mode to FE12's Lunatic? -- The new skill system (read more on SF; basically, it's FE10's except you can even switch around stuff like HP+5 and Steal) -- World map -- Character designs -- Animations -- Maybe new classes that make an appearance? -- Dual Attack system -- Krom's sword is called "Sealed Sword Falchion" or something -- The undead army -- The dragon on the title thing -- Last but not least, the game is called "Fire Emblem: Awakening" -------------------- |

I await with cautious optimism, in case this never gets released in the US.
Also, undead army? Are dealing with a zombie game here? That, or a ripoff of Sacred Stones >_> -------------------- PANE Mod PANE x2 (click to show ) Credit for 2gamer's Seel of Approval (click to show ) |

Jesus Christ, rip-off? FE8 was monsters, some were undead but they were zombie-like. This is more along the lines of a reanimated corpse.

Thank you for letting me know this exists and is a possibility of me owning it
I dig the graphics and the character designs thus far. I might import it and force my friend Skyler to translate for me... in exchange for letting him play of course. -------------------- |

In Japan though... and 3DS is region locked.
Also, maybe there might be more of Narga in this one? Hopefully it gets localized, because the games that were Narga-heavy (FE1-5) weren't localized (save FE11) and nobody would know the Narga reference (KurthNAGA) in FE9/10... -------------------- |

As much as I would like this, I dislike it purely because it took precedence over FE12 getting translated. Combining powers sound really cool though, like an extension of the support bonuses.
Big WTH about the region-lock though. -------------------- I claim Wolfguard (yes all 4) and Jeorge (FE11 & FE12) and Soren (FE9 & FE10) If you're bored...~ Avatar: Jeremiah 'Orenji' Gottwald. Nuff said. Support me on NaNoWriMo and Fanfiction! Owner of: GPX+ groups (click to show ) |

FE12's been hacked already and its not a farfetched statement to make that the fan translation could've been a factor in the lack of localization.

Just watched it again. I didn't even see the English text under the title:
QUOTE Two sleeping dragons- one a sacred ally of mankind, the other its sworn destroyer. Two heroes marked with the symbols of the dragons. Their meeting heralds the dragons’ awakening- and the world’s ending. That's some story details right their. The way they call them both heroes, I wonder if that means their will be two story modes; you get to play on opposite sides. -------------------- PANE Mod PANE x2 (click to show ) Credit for 2gamer's Seel of Approval (click to show ) |

I really hope that this goes more in the direction of the GBA games. In my opinion, they should have had more mandatory levels and better attack animations, ESPECIALLY the crits, in FE11. Time to break out my GBA while my dad forgets to fix my DS Lite!

I'm hoping this goes back to the PoR/RD style. The GBA games were great and certainly took less time (loading screens for PoR, ugh), but PoR and RD had such an amazing atmosphere to them. The 3DS can recreate that!
I think this game is going to be set in Lycia (that or Magvel; it isn't Tellius :c), so they may just go the GBA route. We'll see. -------------------- |

I prefer Radiant Dawn's animations over all of them. Path of Radiance's fell flat overall. Looks like we'll be seeing Radiant Dawn-esque stuff; it already takes the console's style on the maps. Also, what loading times?
This game is more likely to be in Akaneia than Lycia. But even then, it's set in the Kingdom of Iris, which is not in any region known to man. There are theories of a unified FE timeline here and there, though; FE1-5 already take place in the same world (FE2 being at the same time as FE1/3/11/12 and FE4/5 being in the distant future I think, some theorycrafting about the Orbs in Akaneia being the Sacred Stones of Magvel, something about Laguz dying out and dragons staying strong, and something about the Dragon's Gate leading to Akaneia). The fact that we see someone who looks like Marth means that there is potential for this unified timeline. -------------------- |

I think PoR has the best critical hit animations, and in some cases it has better Skill animations than RD, but for the most part I agree. I thought I heard FE3DS was taking place in Lycia, but I could be wrong. I'd guess an entirely new location without that information, but we'll see...

It's definitely not in Lycia, actually. Definitely. There were rumors in regards to a continuation of Lycia, but that's about it.
EDIT: And that was prior to the announcement of Awakening. -------------------- |

Japan is getting a Fire Emblem bundle, complete with Awakening, a 1000 Nintendo points (for downloading games or Club Nintendo?), and this fine looking 3DS:
