It's normal. If it was Shiny, it would say "Sh. Sentret" underneath its nickname.

The reason that it looks 'weird', is because the sprite is from one of the first games.
An alternative sprite, but it's still a regular Gastly. As Spades Slick said, you can check if it's shiny or not by looking underneath its nickname: If it says 'Sh. Gastly/Sentret/anyotherPokémon', it's a shiny. If it doesn't say 'Sh.', it's not shiny. : ) This post has been edited by PokeNOM NOM NOM: Oct 16 2012, 11:23 AM -------------------- |

In addition to being Shiny, a Pokemon can hatch with a sprite from any of the games in which it has appeared. This information can also be found on the Pokémon's info page below the interactions; if it says "Default Sprite", it's using the sprite that it hatches with most often, very likely the 5th generation sprite. They can be changed using a Sprite Changer, which can be purchased from the Shop or Backroom, or found randomly around the site or by hatching eggs.
