Do you feel a tad creeped out when breeding two "young" looking pokemon together?, In a similar vein as the inbreeding query |

Okay, so we've already had a thread about inbreeding in the daycare- what about breeding two "babyish" looking Pokemon together? Does that weird you out? For instance, I have a Torchic and a Shinx in the shelter right now. They're both such young looking Pokemon that it kind of squicks me out. Of course, it doesn't make much logical sense, because a lvl 100 Shinx would technically be more advanced/mature than a freshly evolved Luxray. But it's more of a gut "eww" reaction for me. (Of course, that's not stopping me from breeding them together anyway! I want to extend my family, dangit! XD) Have you ever had a pairing similar to this that gave you the heebie-jeebies? -------------------- |

35 Lairon with 4 level Squirtle And Lairon was female. ,,The two Pokémon can hardly stand to even look at each other." Yea, naturally Lairon would eat/beat Squirtle, but in Daycare she have to breed

Compared to all the horrors of the world, it really doesn't bother me when 2 obviously imaginary animal-like pixels mix in a calculator-probability to create a brand new pixel.
Aka. You're thinking too much into it. -------------------- |

Haven't thought much about it. Then again I haven't actually tried breeding yet in this game.

That was the reason I evolved my Togepi all the way into a Togekiss before putting him in the daycare :|

You're thinking too much into it. Actually, I'm not? It's just something that passes by my mind whenever I check on the aforementioned pair in the daycare, and I thought it was funny. I don't actually sit in my room for hours, curled into a fetal position and frantically obsessing over whether I'm wrongfully enticing Pokemon minors into having illegal sex. Actually, that's kind of why it's funny to me- why do I still get creeped out for a second when I know it's just pixels on a screen? tl;dr no need to b so srs, rly -------------------- |

It only botters me as much as it influences their compatibility and ability to breed. I'm still breeding my gible and larvitar, they are both cute (as I won't evolue them till the very end)... but so what? Lets' spreed the pixel-love, and make maaany pixel-eggies

Hmmm, I hadn't really thought about it all that much. Of course, I mainly use the daycare to level up my critters, so I don't immediately think 'breeding' when I think daycare. The fact that there's eggs there when I check them sometimes is just an extra, plus. As in, oooo! I has a family! XD

XD My Nidorans started breeding when they were level 1, and they're level 70-something now. Didn't creep me out.
The young-looking pokemon don't creep me out. It just seems... normal, somehow. -------------------- |

Nah, it doesn't gross me out at all. I mean, they're animals, without human features. At least, Shellos are not human looking. So, I didn't mind breeding them at such a "young" age. ...Heck, level and age aren't even the same thing, so level doesn't bother me. Levels are (in game) obtained by battles, so that's just their battle experience, not their age.

Not really creeped out..just think it a little odd that they allowed the baby pokemon in this game to breed..I don't think Pichus etc can breed in the DS/GBA games..

To me just a bit. I really wouldn't make two little kittens breed, so I wouldn't let two little pichus breed. I like evolving my pokemon to make them look more mature before putting them in the day care / breeding center. Makes no sense since it's juuuust a gaaame, I know, but I just do it automatically for some reason. xD

Actually kind of felt that when my Ralts was in there for breeding/leveling. Didn't so much feel it when I put them in there... But when they produced eggs I was kinda like... o.o "Maybe I shouldn't be doing this" XD

It doesn't really bother me. If you look at the 'real world' a lot of animals, when they are still considered young, are able to produce offspring. Cats, for one, are able to do so relatively early in their lives. It happens. It's natural. And considering pokemon are more similar to 'animals' than to humans, where in society there are strict taboos and laws, it doesn't bother me in the least.

Well, not at all. I'm more creeped out when I think of breeding a plant-like Pokemon with an mammal-like one, for instance. Or fish with bird.
OTOH, I'm breeding a pony with a duck in daycare myself This post has been edited by painless: Apr 27 2009, 06:44 AM -------------------- |

How about a Pikachu and a Wailord in action?
Pikachu: "Hah... hah... Pika! Pika Pi...!" Wailord: "-loo~rd!" Pikachu "!!! CHYA~aa..ah.. *FAINTS*" If you said that Pikachu and Wailord cannot breed even it defies logic, but Arceus says they can, then don't go *BLEEP* with his intelligence, they can breed! Try Rattata to a Wailord, they should be able to breed..! This post has been edited by Kim Jeong Two: Apr 27 2009, 06:49 AM |
