QUOTE Abandoning and adopting Pokémon
A Pokémon or egg can be abandoned 12 hours after you obtain it. When somebody abandons a Pokémon or egg, it is sent to our Shelter to be taken care of. An abandoned Pokémon/egg will not show up in the Shelter until 15 minutes after it has been abandoned. Once you have abandoned a Pokémon or egg, you will never be able to own that Pokémon or egg again, so make sure that you really want to abandon it. That is, the specific one you abandoned. You can still obtain that same species of Pokémon later on. Extra eggs from the Daycare are also sent to the Shelter to be taken care of. When you go to the Shelter, you are able to freely adopt whatever eggs and Pokémon are displayed, so long as you have at least one empty space in your party.
