Like the Lab has Hunt Power to the Shelter's Sweet Honey, I thought the Shelter could have a 'Mystery Power' to the Lab's Repels. It would show you only eggs that you've never hatched before, that is, Mystery Eggs, just like the Repel does - for, say, five or ten minutes. It would not show Very Rare or Novelty eggs, or other desirable egvs like say Ditto, in the interests of fairness. Since the Shelter often seems to have a much wider variety of species in it than the Lab, this could be very helpful for filling egg-dexes.

So I don't think this would be a useful as your think. The reason is that the shelter dislays 60 eggs at a time, out of whatever amount of species it has at that point. Usually there will be around 300 species in there. And you can't see more than one egg of the same species. This means that if you are looking for one specific egg, you are likely to find it in about 5 batches or so. Meanwhile, the lab only shows you 4 or 5 eggs at a time, and usually has 400 eggs or more. In the lab you can see more of the same egg in the same batch, but we also don't get a count for how many species there are in the lab. So anyway, you are expected to need something around 80 loads to find one specific egg. It is also easier to identify an egg you haven't obtained before in the shelter, because there's already a mechanic in the shelter to help with this.

And honestly, I don't see the point of making this a pass power instead of just using the repel item as is. You can even grab multiple eggs from the same batch of eggs in the shelter, unlike in the lab, so you only need one load to fill your party with new unique eggs, unless you plan on hatching them within the duration of the pass power.

Yeah, but the problem is that at a glance I don't know which eggs are Mystery Eggs. I recognise the patterns mostly, but that doesn't mean that I've actually hatched them, so if I wanted to find out I'd have to mouse-over every one of them. It's not as easy to find the eggs I'm searching for when I don't know what they are :v That'd be true for any other user too, wouldn't it?

As to the repel point, the only thing I find in the lab nowadays that I don't have is Unown eggs. That wouldn't be true in the Shelter (I think.)

I took a look at your dex, and it seems to me like you don't need any eggs that are not unown, novelties or legendaries.

I see where this could help newcomers or people who don't care that much about egg entries. Not sure if it's worth the work. :/
