Okay, so I've yet to submit a character for fear that I would do absolutely nothing with him, but today I've finally decided to get over my fear of looking like a loser and actually post.

So, basically, I'll submit a character profile in the Profile section using the template, and then it'll get accepted or denied. I think I've got that part down.

And then, I'll actually get to roleplay! Could I just start a new topic with my character going off on their new journey, or do I need to join an existing one, or get together with a few people first?

Anyway, after each RP, it gets graded by a mod, and they'll award each member some levels, which we can distribute amongst our Pokemon. And then there's this thing with modifiers, and that's where I'm like Explain plawks?

And then I'll post in that topic in the Discussion forum where all the level stuff is kept.

And what about catching Pokemon? Do I have to check with a mod first, or can I go ahead and just catch it?

I know most of this is buried somewhere in the FAQs, which I've looked over, but three weeks of summer vacation and already my brain is a mushy goop, so please bear with me.

You pretty much summed up the three possible ways to start right there! My advice is to request to join one that is active already or talk to people first before posting. If you just write the first post out there is always a chance that no-one will be available and so your RP will be dead before it begins.

If you go to the PANE Discussion board, you will find this thread where you can find people looking for other RPers or you could put up your own RP for people to join.

This has caused a lot of controversy recently and some lengthy discussions! Basically, it is all summarised here in the first post. I am happy to try and clarify things in pm but the post really is pretty clear.

All capture requests go through a mod. Simply pm one of them with "Please can my PANE character catch a ___?" Remember, this need to be sensible. i.e. you won't be getting a Gible/Dratini/Bagon/Beldum/Larvitar all at once and you sure as heck won't be finding a wild Diglett in the middle of the ocean.
