Well, looks like pretty much everyone is excited about the remakes. But yeah, to be honest everybody (almost) saw it coming. Forget all the "hints" and all that crap fans were stating. Also remember that all new generations have come out in a new portable console (and the next one is assumed to come out in 2011), also remember the usual two year gap (in new generations not remakes) in any previews region (remakes this year 2009, two more years 2011, makes sense, no?).

Edit: I have decided to just delete all the updates I had posted in the last month (nobody will care anyway ) because of the new sections in Serebii.net about the remakes. That and it will also save me some time.
I will still post updates (or maybe just links) before the release of the games, but not here. I will also play them (yes, both) probably a week before they are release (not sure how can that help but I'll still do it ).

Personally, I can't wait for this to come out. Soul Silver got slammed into my list of games to buy.

I don't think TM's will change, but HM changes are likely if the Whirpool Islands wish to keep their names and still remain navigatable.

There should be some other gen Pokemon added in later like they did with FR/LG and the gyms will get a few touch-ups, maybe even some new puzzles. I also missed the Apricorn Balls, being the retro freak I am, along with that storyline I enjoyed so much.

I hope they add more to the travelling to Kanto aspect, maybe leave the Safari Zone open along with a few other things. Anyway, I can't wait for it to come out.

I...yeah. Soul Silver is on my list too.

I hope the 'extended stuff' in GSDS is the opening up and revamping of the Kanto area. They have it sitting right there, it'd be a waste to add an entirely new area when they already have one right there. I've also heard rumours of them doing something new with breeding and whatnot, but I'm not sure what...anything would be interesting.

I'll be getting Soul Silver. I'll have Cyndaquil as my starter, just like back on my original Silver game, and call him Champion, in honour of my Typhlosion on that same Silver game who was my first ever lv100 Pokemon.

I think the Safrai Zone will probably be open, as it was intended to be on the original G/S. The only thing that stopped them was all the glitches, and since this won't be a problem now, I don't see why they wouldn't.

Also, does anyone else reckon they'll add more legandaries to the games. They did with FR/LG, and with the current state of legandaries, I'd be shocked if they had only 5. Obviously they won't do any that have already been made avalible in Platinum, ie the birds and golems, so maybe the Latis, or even Mewtwo

I think, because I love the 2nd gen so much (it was the generation of my first ever pokemo game, and the start of my love of pokemon ) , I will buy both. Save up lots of money, and push the iPod off my Birthday list

Do you think they'll allow Gliscor and Yanmega etc to be in early or will they be after main event pokemon.
I hope they open the safari zone, the other radio tower and some other places we never got to go.
"Honestly we're the main characters that go barging and destroying the bad teams but we aaren't strong enough to knock aside a guard O.O.

Also, I hope they do something about the red gyarados in HG and SS because if you can trade that thing to d/p/p and future games.
Everyone and their grandma's will have that shiny gyarados O.O

Although everyone wanting SS is outting me off, I'm still getting that game bacuase Silver started me off!

if you played the japanese crystal you could get it so it might be in gold silver remake and this is going to make lugia and ho-oh a lot easier to get aswell but i wonder what it would look like with better graphics and i cant wait for startes aswell

I'm personally wondering what would happen if you gave some johto exclusive items to a pokemon and traded it to another 4th gen game, if it possible at all. I'd love to have a steady supply of Heavy balls on hand, those things were so useful.

I doubt it will work. If stuff like heavy balls was in D/P/P, hackers would have found it like they did with the thing about, 'arrived from Johto'. Unless HG/SS came with some sort of update that made your D/P/P able to recieve those items. Now that would be cool

As much as I hate the name "HeartGold," I'll probably try to get HeartGold, since that was my first and only Pokemon game that I've ever had.

Well, some of you are confuse about Whirlpool which is a good question.

I highly doubt that they'll make a new HM. The thing that is very probable, is that it will be a MT later in the game. And Flash is already a TM and might get it the same way as before.

Whirlpool was a HM back then and they do tend to have one changing HM. G/S/C Whirlpool, R/S/E Dive, D/P/Pt Defog so they'll probably toss off that slot to Whirlpool, given the pattern in which these things go. Flash works the same, even if it is a TM now, so it may or may not end up a HM. I'm getting SoulSilver for a few reasons. i started with Crystal, and I always preferred getting Lugia later on. Ho-oh wasn't one I would use but i loved Lugia<333 I'm also going to hunt down that Suicune so it'll be like old times. I still remember my team, despite getting the game when I was four. XDD

Feraligatr, Suicune, Lugia, Entei, Tyranitar and Scizor. I'm just glad they're remaking them, as 2nd Gen was my all time favourite.

I disagree and only time will tell. But we might get the list of all TM's, HM's, and MT's, probably when the games are close to release to confirm this.
