[The Rose Crusade...]

Name: Melinda (Mindy) Rose
Age: 18
Hometown: Floaroma Town.

Appearance: Mindy is 18 years old, and is completely done with puberty (if you catch my drift). She is 5'6" tall, weighs 110 lbs, and is a brunette. She prefers to wear her hair down, but when it gets in the way, she always has a headband ready to use. Mindy is slim, but she does have some muscle mass for she is a physically active person. She wears a green tank top, a pair of black jeans, and athletic shoes.


Personality: Mindy is a rebellious teenager. She is a young woman who always fights for her independence. In fewer words, a feminist. She is a strong believer of personal rights and non-conformity. She always thinks that she can do things by herself, when in reality, she needs help doing something. Mindy is the kind of person that if someone makes a mistake, she will always help them up. She is kind to others, but does not like it if boys are too sweet to her. She is a very good pokemon battler, although, she has dreams of being a top coordinator someday.

Melinda loves all of the aspects of gardening. She grew up with a family full of green thumbs, which was passed on to her. She loves plants and cares for them tenderly. Because of this love, Mindy has come to adore all grass pokemon. She also likes water pokemon, but grass are her favorite. Melinda, being very independent, is quite the leader, and is known to take charge of people even when a leadership position is not needed. She loves sports, the daytime, and learning knew things.

Alas, there are many things Melinda does not like at all. First of all, she hates the nighttime. Plants do not grow at night, and she does not like that, so she feels that nothing else should be done at night. She feels very uneasy when traveling at night, and prefers to set up camp early rather than press on towards a destination. She dislikes fire pokemon out of the sheer fact that they cause so much damage to grass pokemon. But her main dislike is immature, naïve, foolish boys. It is wrong to say she does not like boys. No, she definitely likes boys. She just has very strong opinions about them. She is a strong believer in first impressions regarding the male sex, and stands by those first impressions for a long time. She does like boys if they are mature, courteous and chivalrous, but boys like that are hard to find these days.


Biography: Melinda is the daughter of the owners of the Pick a Peck of Colors flower shop in Floaroma Town. She is an only child, and was a very popular kid in Floaroma Town. She stayed at the flower shop and helped her parents running the store until now. On her 16th birthday, she decided that it was time to begin her pokemon journey. She departed from the Sinnoh Region to train where her parents both trained and found each other: Furoh.

She set off with 3 pokeballs many different kinds of berries. She stocked up at her parents shop, and took with her at least one kind of each basic berry. Mindy also left home with her ever-faithful Combee. When she was younger, she befriended Combee one day while picking flowers for the flower shop in her UNcle Soney's Honey Orchard. They became good friends playing with each other, and Combee agreed to join Melinda as her partner. They have been inseparable ever since Melinda hopes to catch new pokemon in the Furoh region wit her trusty Combee at her side to aid her in the captures. Since landing in the Furoh Region, Melinda has successfully captured a wild Taillow. While Combee lured it with its Sweet Scent and Honey, Melinda crept behind it and captured it in a pokeball before it had time to react, for it was still dazed. While Melinda is aware that Taillow knows the powerful move Brave Bird, she realizes that it is completely reckless. While trying to use it, Taillow has even hit Melinda sometimes with the risky attack. It is very dangerous and wild, so the two prefer not to use it in battle. It seems that it would take a very long time before Taillow can master Brave bird.

After finishing tasting her first lick of adventure in the small port town of Barley, Mindy kept moving on. After making new friends and capturing her new pokemon in Barley, Melinda and her newfound companion travelled to the underground sanctum of Gigarte, where she met the handsome young lad Darryn. With the help of Darryn's expertise in Pokemon care, the gang gave their pokemon a makeshift salon treatment, escpecially improving Feebas' mood. Mindy practiced vigorously with her pokemon in hopes of receiving the Stonebloom Badge by winning her first gym leader challenge: Chloe of Gigarte Arboretum. The intense match ended with Combee evolving into Vespiquen who was able to deal the final blow to Chloe's final pokemon, Cherubi. Back at the Pokemon Center, a Nurse revealed to Mindy that Vespiquen would die if she did not obtain grubs in a week. Horrified by the news, Melinda called home where her Uncle Soney answered. It seemed as if Melinda's stars were in alignment that day, as Vespiquen was warmly welcomed by Soney. Mindy could only hope that Vespiquen would be alright with her new colony.

With the loss of her beloved Vespiquen, it appeared that Mindy was back to square one again. With only one pokemon capable of battling in her party, she was definitely in a pickle. But in Gigarte, she had not only earned herself a badge, but a great new friend as well. With Darryn and Jaima at her side, the gang headed off for the mysterious town of Lenoilia.

While traveling to Lenoilia on foot, the company eventually had to settle down for the night. Being outside hat night had never been a good thing for Mindy, and that night she was attacked by malicious demonic pokemon, coming after her while she was in a psychic state. Luckily for everyone, a family of benevolent Mismagi and their daughter had been in the vicinity to save them. Following the conclusion of the battle, one of the Misdreavus decided to stay with Melinda to protect her on her journey. Upon arriving in Lenoilia, Melinda became homesick, remembering the calm tranquil life she had lead in Floaroma Town. After experiencing some truly disturbing events on the way to find exactly what was going on in the town, Melinda & Co. found refuge in a peace territory: the Pokemon Center.

From there, Melinda and Darck decided to team up and try to uncover some of the dark secrets of the town. Their little adventure was seemingly cut short when they were startled by a massive colony of Roselia performing a courting ritual. A deep bond was spurred between Melinda and the star of the their colony that was at a primal level, a bond that could not be broken. After fending off crazed Roselia, the virginal immaculate Rose decided to travel with Mindy to have much more than her provincial life. A strange group of shady individuals tried to capture the renegade infected Roselia, and it took the combined efforts of Melinda and Darck's pokemon to stop them.

Eventually returning home to the Center, Darck informed Melinda that he had uncovered a strange and mysterious item from the wreckage. To make matters worse, Melinda became aware of the fact that Jaima had lost one of his most prized Pokemon: Ember. Already saddened for Jaima's loss, his announcement for leaving the group was heart-wrenching. Melinda knew, however, that deep down inside, she would do the same thing if their roles were reversed. Saying their goodbyes and promising to meet up again soon, Darryn, Darck and Melinda departed into a transport car, leaving their dear friend behind and praying that he would accomplish his mission.

Current Events:
Unfortunately, disaster struck. Vespiquen was deathly ill, and Mindy had to leave her friends in Furoh to care for her pokemon. After nursing Queen back to health, Melinda decided to have a go at the Sinnoh Coordinator Circuit, where she found tremendous success, winning her first four contests and ultimately the Sinnoh Grand Festival. Although she may have become more shallow due to the nature of contests and pokemon coordination, Melinda and her pokemon are stronger than ever. Feebas had evolved into Milotic thanks to Mindy's beauty treatments and special care, becoming Mindy's appeal master. Melinda had asked her pride and joy Rose to evolve to help her win the Sinnoh Grand Festival, which she agreed to and ultimately did with a Shiny Stone. Mindy's egg hatched early on into Togepi, and although he never battles, was loved so much by Mindy he evolved into Togetic. Following her being named top coordinator and being showered with gifts, Mindy decided to return to Furoh and finish what she started there, hoping to keep her sponsors happy by winning a second Grand Festival.

I'm sorry, but I really don't feel we should make exceptions in anyone's case. If your complaint is that Combee is a semi-useless pokemon, then I feel you can take the hit and accept another pokemon.
