Hi! I'm relatively new and i had a question. I scoured the help section of the website to see if this had been answered, and i couldn't find any related threads here. Sorry if this question had been answered before haha

Is it possible to use regional variants to complete badge achievements? Like, for example, using an alolan geodude in place of a normal geodude for the boulder badge, or a galarian weezing in place of a normal weezing for the soul badge. Further, would novelty variants also work?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Unfortunately, that's not possible. Achievements check for the exact name of the Pokemon: for example, "Vulpix" and "Alolan Vulpix" and "Winter Vulpix" are not interchangeable. If an achievement asks for a Pokemon by the name of its standard form, like "Geodude" or "Weezing" like your examples, then you can only use that standard form and none of the alternate ones.
