This isn't about shine hunting; this is about those random cases when you just grabbed an egg and got a one-egg-wonder shiny.

Mine came in the form of a Feral Zergoose. I wanted one, for the sake of my novelty collection, so I got everything set up and waited. I about passed out on the floor when I realized, not only did I just hatch a shiny, I just hatched an incredibly rare shiny. Then came the screaming, of course ;P

Not managed to hatch a random Shiny but I've come across a couple while EV Training or generally messing around. Found a Shiny Fearow, Bidoof, Venipede and Basculin from this.

I also try and forget the completely useless Shiny Unown I got on FireRed years ago. I found it while I was exploring the ruins.

When I joined GPX on my first week, I got 3 shinies within that week ; Weedle, Aeken and Scraggy

On GPX, it wasn't really me hatching them, but I found 3 shinies in the shelter: Magcargo and Forretress I re-released, and Avalugg which I adopted as a Bergmite.

In the games, the 1st shiny I ever found in the wild was a random female Tranquil while I was out of state. I was just casually walking around outside of Twist Mountain, accidentally walked into the grass, and bam, shiny. Too bad it wasn't male. ;-;

Back in my days of being a n00b to GPX (ahh, back when the Lab was my primary source of Pokemon), I sometimes (infrequently) went to the Shelter to pick up some eggs. I was curious as to what one of the eggs was; now I know it was a Pansage egg. I just thought, "what the hey? it's new!" and picked it up. Lo and behold, it was shiny. First shiny on GPX.

Random shinies in the games? The one that comes to mind is from Platinum. I was out on the boat in the lake (Train ALL the Pokemon! Play ALL the time!) with my mom, step-dad and two of their friends, and I was training in Victory Road for the Elite Four. Yeah, that was stupid, but it led to a lucky encounter. I got bored and just went on autopilot while vaguely noticing the pattern... Graveler, Onix, Graveler, Graveler, Onix, Onix, Graveler, Steelix... Then I saw a Graveler that seemed... different. SHINY! Yes! After a long battle, I caught her and named her "Gaea." Now I just need to transfer it to Black and get someone to Pokebank it forward for me...

My first shiny on GPX was a Sudowoodo, which I got from randomly picking it up from the shelter.

My first shiny in the games was also a random one (except for the shiny Gyarados from Pokemon Pearl if I caught it, I can't remember). I was just running around in one of my friend safaris on Pokemon X and ended up finding a shiny Lapras.

All of my Shinies are pretty random, because I got them on the same day I started the hunt. They are: Probopas, Ploiwrath and Basculine.
And on GPX+ my shiny Acranine (my first one) hatched after 100 eggs.

Haven't had a random shiny outside of a hunt on GPX yet, although my very first hunt ended after hatching only 2 eggs, so that was really random.

In the games, my first random shiny was a Pidgey way back in Gold. My only other random shiny I've encountered was in Y, a shiny Gyarados (of all pokemon, the least rare, go figure) in the wild. Still pretty cool at least he can mega-evolve.

It was a Spinda on GPX. First hatched of the species

In the games, it took me until X to finally even SEE a shiny that wasn't event or Gyarados. That was a Geodude in a horde. And since it was a horde of Geodude, of course they used Magnitude and took it out. Few days later, checking out someone's Friend Safari and found a Shiny Kakuna. And yesterday, using that Shiny Beedril to hunt some ghosts to help my IV breeding, I stumbled upon a horde of Murkrow with a shiny in the middle. And those are in total the only Shiny I have ever seen, planned or random.

On GPX I got a shiny azurill.

Pretty delighted about it.

And one time while playing Emerald I got a shiny poochyenna and a shiny spinda. Not my favorites but SHINY

i was crawling through a cave on black 2 earlier and found a shiny woobat

it's so damn adorable, i transferred it over to as and played with it/evolved it and ahhhhhhh what a qt

I got a Shiny Icy Horsea from the shiny hunt voucher.
I also hatched a Shiny Klefi and Shiny Croagunk at random.

And I found a Shiny Gengar, Shiny Klink and Shiny Mareep in the safari zone

I've never hatched a shiny. I have the most horrible luck with shinies in general, I can't even soft reset one as a starter and I once did it for a week straight on Soul Silver.

Then my scare and few random encounters are never all that impressive, Mostly it's Zubat and Machop. I'd say the best random shiny I've caught is a Sneazel in Platinum outside Snowpoint City. Then there are those couple I accidentally fainted in Soul Silver, there was a Drowsee and a Hoppip. In the case of the Drowsee I was distracted and only realized when I drained it with a Umbreon no less that it was Shiny and I was too strong for the Hoppip.

I have got a shiny randomly three times when I have just hatched eggs for Poke hunts 8'DDDD Magikarp, Torchic and Bulbasaur.

And last week I randomly got shiny buneary, I just had grabbed some random eggs on mobile because I wanted to fill my party before I go to bed 8'DDDD

In X I was hatching Bagon eggs for a good IV one to use for Mega Salamence since it had just been announced. I wound up hatching a shiny one. I've also come across two shiny Ditto in a Friend Safari and a shiny Druddigon also in a Friend Safari. As for GPX+, I've only gotten a Spoink and a Goomy randomly shiny.

I got an oddish from a horde battle. I evolved it into a Bellosom because purple is perfect for a Hawaiian Tiki Luau flower dancer!

My first non-event shiny Pokemon was a random one. In Y, I was looking for a male Ralts (to name Clyde) and a female Ralts (to name Bonnie) before I progressed in the game when I encountered... A shiny Budew. Chrysan (short for chrysanthemum) has completely changed my opinion on the Budew line. I hated them before, but now it is one of my favorite poison type evolution lines.

I came across a shiny Oddish in AS when I was going through some grass to get to a Secret Base. I evolved it into a Bellossom because I've always liked that Pokemon.

haven't found a shiny on the site yet! however my first pokemon game shiny was in gba sapphire, i found a shiny starly within the first ten minutes of my playthrough. unfortunately my gba at the time was super unstable, and the game crashed so i had to reset it. sad times.
but more recently i found a shiny ferroseed in black 2, and a shiny camerupt in a friend safari!

My last shiny was on ORAS a couple months ago - I found a shiny Machop, which really bums me out since I had no place for a Machop on my team. But w/e, I'm keeping it for now. I think the last time I've found one in-game was a Meditite on Diamond maybe 8 years ago? of course, gave it a cheeky nickname and now it's too late to fix it.

Anyway the Machop was a nice surprise

My first random shiny was a heracross in crystal that ran away. q.q
My second random shiny was a starly shortly after the tutorial in platinum (almost didnt have any pokeballs yet!)
Third was a whismurr in X.

My first on-site random shiny though, (hot damn), a Primal Dialga.

All of my random Shinies:
In-game: Shiny Lotad from White Forest. That is literally the only Shiny I've ever seen in the Wild (not counting Gyarados)

GPX: My 1st was a Winter Vulpix that I bred. I was a noob at the time, so I thought hatching it would end my Shiny Vulpix Hunt.
My next random was an Elekid egg I grabbed for no reason whatsoever. Then was a Pineco I grabbed for a Scavenger Hunt task back in 2011. Then I found a Shiny Altaria in the Shelter from a quit drop. Then I found a Shiny Bronzong from a ban drop. Then I got a Shiny Psyduck. I honestly don't remember getting this; the info page says it's from an event. Lastly, I got a Shiny Snivy for last week's Grass Poké Hunt.

The most recent Shiny I found was a Tentacool in X I mistakenly killed. I thought Hotcha would be weak enough to just damage her to low health, but she killed her!

I accidentally grabbed a Komala egg from the lab and was a little disappointed since I don't really know a lot of the egg descriptions because I'm trying to fill my Kanto dex first. So you can imagine the surprise when it hatched into my very first shiny pokemon! Completely random!

I got three unintentional shinies: an Eevee and a DracoWymsy (both from shelter), and a Diancie (from this month's event). Still cool though.

I recently hatched a Shiny Spinda while trying to rack up some dex entries!
In the games, I got a shiny Starly in Platinum when I first started the game! It was such a wonderful surprise, and I got to have him on my team the whole game. I caught a shiny Gastly in Moon, also near the start of the game, and I love her so much - she's a shiny Gengar now!

In terms of GPX+, I've found a fair amount of random shinies. These include two Tirtouga [one is now fully evolved], a Riolu which I've since Mega Evolved, Ditto, Staryu. and a Raichu I picked up from the Safari Zone after a bandrop. My most recent random shiny is a Pichu I hatched just a couple minutes ago.

I've found several random shinies on GPX over the years. Anorith (which was pre-shine recorder), Cacnea, Shellderboy, Chikorita, Bidoof, Spiritomb, Minccino, Horsea, Oddish and Giratina.

I also once had a wild exploration pokemon turn shiny (Dracowymsy), I didn't even know it was possible if it wasn't pre-scripted but apparently they can be shiny. Luckily I already had one from a hunt as well so I didn't feel too bad about it.

In my actual games I really can't remember all of them. I'm a shiny hunter and collected a ton of shinies since gen 3. I honestly can't remember which ones were random and which ones hunted, especially not the old ones.
