Hazelwood Academy

Setting

Despite being located in the rural countryside, Hazelwood Academy still manages to take the breath away from all of its students, whether they come from the city or off of a farm. From the outside, the Academy appears to be a large brick structure that backs onto a fairly shallow lake, though a small cliff face separates the building from the body of water. Light gray walls, a similar colour to that of the school, surround the Academy grounds, and security occasionally patrols the border. Though, this isn’t really needed seeing as the walls are more than 8 feet high, making them difficult to scale should one want to leave the campus.

True to its name, Hazelwood is home to a woodland forest that sits to the right of the main building; on the other side of the castle-like structure are fields that are used for spirit events and sports. A long, red brick path leads up to the main entrance of the school, and it cuts through the cosy front yard that is decorated with trees and other forms of flora. In order to get to Hazelwood from the road, one must use this entryway, and to do this, they must pass security at the front gates that are wrought from a thick black iron. Though the gateway, reminiscent of medieval times, does have a working intercom, a security guard is always posted at the door to let students in from the nearby town.

Hazelwood Academy is often mistaken for a castle, and though the building is not nearly as extravagant as one, it certainly is large enough to house thousands of staff and students year-round. The layout is fairly simple, seeing as there are only 5 main buildings. Stemming from the front entranceway is the first one, complete with ornate wooden doors that welcome students to the Academy. Leading up from the path, this structure is the smallest of the five that make up Hazelwood. Called the Foyer, it is where students can locate any directions or information that they may need from the secretaries that work in the middle of the room. The Foyer has stone walls that are decorated with large, ornate windows and school awards, practically spelling out the school’s history. Visitors, if there are any, also wait in the Foyer because that is the only place where they are allowed on school grounds unless stated otherwise by an administrative member. All of the other buildings branch off from here and it only has one floor.

To the left of the Foyer are the Girl’s dormitories, which is the second building in Hazelwood. This building is home to all of the females that call the Academy home and has two main towers on either side. Each tower has 8 floors, excluding the ground floor, and within these structures are the dorms for each student. One’s room placement depends on one’s year, seeing as younger students live closer to the main common room on the ground floor and older students live near the peak of the conical shaped roofs. A large, rectangular building connects the two towers together; as stated before, the main common room is located on the ground floor and above it are hallways, smaller common rooms and bathrooms for the students to use. To no surprise, this building is off limit to all males, as are the enclosed hallways on the first floor that connect the Dorm to the other parts of the school.

On the right side, branching off of the Foyer, are the Boy’s dorms. They have a similar layout to their female counterpart’s living area, the only difference being the colouring of the interior. It’s not a very big deal; just that guys have blue and white accents while the females have red and white. These colours choices seem to tie in with the school’s colours, which are a pearly white and a rich royal purple. The actual living dorms are the same as well, each circular room large enough to hold 5 children. Additionally, no females are allowed inside male residences or the corridors.

The next building is the largest one of them all and sits in the centre of the rest of the other structures that make up Hazelwood. This one is called the Main Institute, seeing as most, if not all, classes take place here. There are 5 main floors and multiple classes on each level; large staircases at each corner of the structure connect every storey. The Institute is shape like a hollow square, with the classrooms and hallways making up the borders of said square. On the first floor is the Cafeteria where all students come to eat meals; it also doubles as a place where faculty can address the student body as a whole seeing as mealtime is the one time where everyone is gathered in one room. There is a lower level that acts as a kitchen, but it only connects from the Cafeteria. The second floor has the school’s swimming pool, which can be used for physical education, team practice or recreation. The third floor has their gymnasium and the fourth, the music room. The fifth floor is home to the theatre, which tends to double as a storage room for school supplies from time to time.

And finally, the last building in Hazelwood has been called the Library, though it is much more than that. It rests on the south side of campus facing the lake, and though most students get there by using the south Institute entrance, there are hallways that extend from the dorms to the Library. Standing at three stories tall, each of the Library’s floors is divided into north and south wings. One the first level, the north wing is one part of the Academy’s massive literary archive, while the south wing is a greenhouse used to grow both food for the students and study botany. The second level’s north wing is also an actual library, but the south wing is where the faculty’s offices are located. Furthermore, the third level’s north wing is doubles as both a study hall and library, while the south wing is home to the teachers; literally.

There are multiple entrances exiting onto the school grounds within all five buildings, and every doorway appears the exact same; tall, carved of hazel and ornately detailed. Getting out is no problem, but entering the Academy requires a gilded key that is issued to all students; a secondary key is needed to enter the dorms and they are specific by gender. The school is accented by light grey stone, huge glass panes and wood accents, not to mention the purple and white that makes up the rest of Hazelwood’s colouring. Plant life thrives both within and outside of the Academy, ivy winding up the walls of the building and many different species of plants blooming within the hallways.

One thing that most would notice about Hazelwood is that there are no electrical wires connecting the buildings; it should be said, though, that whatever electricity used is wired through the ground, as is hydro and heat. The school has running water, A/C, heating and other normalities, though there is no cell reception within any of the buildings. Despite the beautiful faculties, it’s a relatively low-tech school; no such thing as Wi-Fi or even Smartboards here. Hazelwood is proud to say that its classes are fully equipped with perfectly functioning chalkboards, and they rarely need more than that. The Library does have computers that all students are free to use, but that pretty much encompasses the technology within Hazelwood.

Nearby the school grounds is a quaint village that sits off of the worn road which connects Hazelwood to the rest of the world. It’s not that large of a town, the population rarely spiking above 1000 people, but it’s the lack of hustle and bustle that attracts many tourists. There’s only one inn, seeing as most residents live in either brick houses or small cottages and there are also a few general stores that make a profit when Hazelwood students come to visit. Only those aged 14 and above can go to visit the town, and when they’re there, most tend to drop by the sweets shops and cafes that dot the streets. There are also few clothing stores and salons that students will visit to stay kempt, not to mention school supply stores for when one runs low on erasers. However, due to the rather lenient drinking age in the region, most older students tend to stop by one of the many bars within the town. Similar to Hazelwood, the town hasn’t gone under a lot of technological changes and most of its buildings, pubs included, still retain that rustic feel.

Plot

So then, there we have it, this fantastic boarding school, capable of holding thousands within it, complete with a neighbouring picturesque country village. Sounds quite ideal, does it not? Indeed it does, so ideal, that one would in fact be expecting some kind of draw back. No, the school lake isn’t full of Sharpedo. Yes, the air conditioning works absolutely perfectly year round, as does the central heating. No, there are never any problems with the showers. However, there is what could be called a bit of ‘unhealthy competition’ between the students of the school, in particular, between those of opposing Genders.

Not many remain who understand just why the school is like this, nor are there many who are particularly interested; it is merely accepted as a fact. At this school, the rivalry between the two genders is quite frankly MASSIVE. Any time one gender out performs the other in anything, literally anything, it is hung over the losers heads until they manage to turn the tables, resulting in the dominant side switching. Someone getting a question asked by the teacher wrong, or right, in class is an example of these scenarios.

As well as this general gender rivalry, there is also a much more ‘official’ side to the conflict, coming in the form of a contest hosted by the academy itself. Since the contest itself does not officially have a name, in terms of the school granting it one itself, the students here refer to it in various different ways, though the most common is to refer to their gender either ‘taking the crown’ or ‘keeping the crown’.

Every week, the school itself actually holds one of various kinds of competitions between the genders (such as talent shows, sports days, treasure hunts) within term time, to which each gender is assigned points relative to how well each participant performs. In each of the academy’s three semesters, the total points are tallied and the gender with the highest amount of points is declared the winner for that semester.

At the end of the year, the ‘leader’ of the gender who has won the most Semesters is crowned the ruler of all the academy’s students (though teachers still have greater authority over them, of course), and then gets to decide on a forfeit each member of the opposite gender must take as a result of their loss. These leaders are elected by students at the end of the previous year, by a vote of the sixth year students of that gender. These leaders are treated with the same respect as a teacher, and thus command a lot of power within their gender, as well as some over the opposite if they can strike enough fear into their hearts.

Just to give you an idea of how extreme these forfeits end up, last year the females won, and their previous Queen declared that all of the schools males had to be subjected to Confuse Ray for half an hour, the resulting events recorded, and then made publicly available over the internet. As one can imagine, the scenes recorded were indeed rather, extreme.

So then, even if they don’t really want to from a moral standpoint, students have every reason to want to come on top of their opposite gender in this confrontation. Yes, you may not share the same vies of your opposing gender as the vast majority of your fellow men/women, but nether-the-less, losing this contest is not something you wish to consider, unless, of course, you can be persuaded to do otherwise by some means, which most certainly wouldn’t be a first time occasion. In fact, there are even some students who are known for the fact that they will in fact perform on behalf of the other gender if the right demands are met.

As one may expect, romance within this academy between students doesn’t usually last long, sheerly due to the peer pressure created by fellow peers, particularly in the more senior years where the competition becomes even more fierce, since by now, many have simply accepted the rivalry as a way of life. Every now and again, two students will come into the academy with feelings for each other, but not once has a pair of students ever left the academy with these feelings. Yes, that may well change some year, but it’s not the kind of thing many will be willing to bet on.

Gijinkas

For those of you not aware, a Gijinka is a human-Pokémon hybrid creature. Yes, I know this is probably known by every single person who actually knows what an RP board is.

The extent of ‘Gijinkafication’ in this RP is to that you’d expect to see in most RPs, what with students having the full array of powers as their Pokémon counterparts. However, a student’s power is limited to what year group they are in, as well as what Gijinka they are. For example, since Dray (one of my characters) is a Jolteon Gijinka, he’s exceptionally fast and can throw a nasty Thunderbolt, however his physical strength isn’t all too great and he’d only be able to take a hit or two, if he can even take the first, from a sixth or seventh year student. On top of that, his physique isn’t exactly world class.

As well as this, the year also reflects each Gijinka’s evolutionary stage, providing they can evolve. So, for example, first years are usually first form, they tend to reach their second some point after their third or fourth year, and some will evolve into their third form in their final two years, while some may never reach their final form (the likes of Dragonite, Tyranitar, etc, who evolve at rather high levels). Basically, age corresponds to level, when it comes to evolutions at the very least.

Nope, they don’t suddenly find themselves with urges to eat Pokémon food, they simply follow the regular just your regular human diet. However, since Pokémon are in this RP too, that means the Gijinka are gonna end up eating the likes of Tauros burgers, Kentucky Fried Pidgeotto and possibly even Exeggcute salad sandwiches. In terms of vegetarian diets, well, that’s exactly the same as it would be nowadays, in terms of what is actually eaten (all fruits and vegetables remain), except for the fact that the berries from the series are also added into the mix.

• This RP is co-owned with by and Runi, which means if she asks you to do something, you treat it the same as if I asked you to do it. Try not to forget that please
• Myself and Runi shall be controlling the teachers at the Academy, Headmaster and Headmistress included.
• Under absolutely no circumstances may anyone RP as a Legendary Gijinka, aside from myself and Runi when we take control of the Head-teachers.

• Violence, Cussing and Romance are fine, and actually expected to a certain degree, just don't go too overboard, all right? I'll just say Rated-15 and let you decide what's right/wrong to post in the RP, though that doesn’t mean more ‘Adult-themed’ occurrences can’t be implied/taken to PMs by any means. As for the gory side of things, well, I think we’ll deal with that should the time arise.

Name: Torren Levis.
Age: 32.

Personality: Torren comes off as a bit of a dunce seeing as he’s rather clumsy, accident prone and a bit slow on the pick up. The Legendary Gijinka also tends to overreact, especially when his precious students are the issue at hand. He treats everyone as an equal no matter their age or status, though he does tend to be slightly forgetful every now and then. Torren is open to everyone and enjoys interacting with others, making him a very friendly and approachable soul.

However, despite his simpleton-like persona, Torren is actually one of the best Headmaster’s the school has ever seen. In all actuality, he’s very competent and can easily pull his own weight and more. To prove this point, Torren always makes a point finish his work before it’s due, staying on top of any problems that may surface and completing all tasks assigned to him. He’s also become adept at cleaning up messes that are created by the student body during their more intense competitions and ensuring that the school has a spotless record. When he does finish his duties, the Headmaster spends the rest of his time walking the halls and dropping into lessons so as to stay in tune with the school.

Though he supports the males of the school, he very much enjoys seeing them struggle whenever the females manage to outdo them. After all, it wouldn’t be a lot of fun if one side were to dominate for the whole year, right? Torren loves to see students trying to outdo each other but refrains from stepping in the competition unless the Headmistress also lend a hand; after all, the leader this year, Fenrir, seems to be doing just fine in rallying the males (obviously, he has yet to notice what methods the boy is employing in order to win).

Bio: Since Torren is older than his appearance lets on, many don’t believe him when he says that he’s been Headmaster for nearly 7 years. The previous Headmistress, a rather stern Jirachi, reluctantly took the young man under her wing and showed him the ropes of running the school. Torren did a rather splendid job at surprising the older woman when she discovered that yes, he was capable of intelligent thought process and would do the school good when she left.

Torren, rather than being appalled by the rivalry between the sexes in the school, encouraged the healthy competition between the two groups. Coming from an all-boys academy where he received both his elementary education and teaching degree, he loves seeing students duke it out ‘just like at home’. However, little is known about his homeland or his past and few have found the need to enquire into it.
Extra: Torren has a bit of a sweet tooth, and should a student enter his office, the first thing he’ll do is offer them a sweet of some kind. Through the Kyogre Gijinka is quite powerful, he often lets loose his powers unintentionally in very odd ways. Some examples of this are flash floods whenever he yawns, claps of thunder followed by heavy rain when he laughs and even fog when he dozes off. Additionally, should he be aggravated or displeased, the temperature around the school tends to drop a few degrees.

Personality: Possessing a rather extreme work ethic, if Helena finds herself with a job to do, she will see it through to the end without letting anything else get in her way, even if it means melting someone’s face off. She is both heavily self reliant, and ridiculously quick tempered, meaning that when someone offers to help her, her 6’02’’ figure will almost always reply with a booming “no”, followed by the temperature of whatever room she’s in increase by a good five or six degrees (centigrade).

One of the things that really agitates her, as in practically go on a rampage, is when people comment about her being relatively young and inexperienced for a headmistress. Since when on Earth did being old and senile make you a better headmistress? Having a healthy mind is one of the key features needed to shoulder the responsibilities of a headmistress, especially when the headmaster is as dozy as Torren…

Extra: Was previously a leader for the girls. While she was very much more along the lines of a ‘Fenrir-esque’ leader than a ‘Shaeree-esque’ one in terms of her predominant personality, she was actually willing to listen to the problems other girls had and help them if she could. However, after having lost to the males that year, she denounced that side of her after viewing it to be the reasoning behind her loss. As such, she is very much business driven now, focusing much more on the management of grades and materials rather than student’s personal problems. The latter she has very much left in the hands of the female’s student leader, some girl called ‘Shaeree Merrick’.

When ‘Mistress Helena’, as she is known around the academy, goes off on one of her little ‘rampages’, you most certainly wouldn’t want to be anywhere near her. When she does so, Sandstorms begin to sweep through the corridors of the Academy, and anywhere in her vicinity becomes extremely hot, anything which comes into contact with her body either burns, or simply melts. There are numerous discoloured footprints on the stone floors of the academy where the young lady has been walking during one of these fits, a few remaining signs of her quite frankly mind boggling powers.

On top of this, she won’t think twice about lashing out at someone if they even try to talk to her while she’s having one of her little tantrums. Hell, she won’t even think once, it’ll just happen, and by Arceus you better hope the blow doesn’t connect with you…

Personality: She is quite timid, meaning she isn’t all that assertive in class. is usually bewildered if students start talking in the middle of class. However, when she comes to the point when she ‘asks’ for quiet, she lets loose an ear piercing shriek that stops all conversations dead.

Like many an English teacher, she is able to see deep behind the meanings of things people say and write, sometimes even deriving meanings that simply aren’t there. As such, this either leads her to be able to read someone exceptionally well by their writing or speech, or simply come to a conclusion which while having some logic behind it, couldn’t be further from the truth.

Extra: The Academy’s newest, least experienced teacher, who has just started her first semester as a teacher. She has the most beautiful singing voice out of all people in the academy, even amongst the music staff. Her initial intentions were to in fact become a music teacher; however, since she struggled with the instrumental side of things (aside from keyboard and piano, to which she managed to achieve a grade 7), she decided to opt for her second love instead, the English language.

Personality: Never the type to cut someone down in a class if they get a question completely wrong, instead, tries to explain where the student went wrong, and where they can build on it. Occasionally, he can explain things too quickly and leave most students in class wondering just what on Earth he just said, though he’ll quite happily explain again at a slower pace if someone asks him, as well as draw visual aids if necessary, though these are always drawn in an almost robotic fashion.

Dr. Rosenthal takes a lot of pride in his work, seeing as how he views science in general to be not just his hobby, but also as simply ‘the way forward’. “If it wasn’t for scientists, we simply wouldn’t be where we are today” is one of the little phrases that he very often comes out with, a belief which he does indeed believe to be very much the true.

Extra: The school veteran teacher. He has an I.Q. beyond comprehension, which actually puts quite a few ego-inflated Alakazam Gijinka to shame, combined with a true understanding of the way life works from his life experiences.

Despite being the school’s ‘old man’, by no means is Dr. Rosenthal some slow old codger. Contrary to popular belief, this old man can run rings around many of the students here at the academy, as well as give you quite the nasty shock if you feel brave enough to comment on how his senile old brain simply isn’t cut out for his job.

Personality: Can occasionally be caught with her mind wandering as she ponders the state of the Earth at any given moment in time. Very often goes off on a tangent in classes. She possesses thorough knowledge of the effect of climate changes and the Earth’s geometry, frequently confirms changes in such with the school’s Headmistress and Headmaster.

Every now and again, her old age will show as she forgets the names of students, or even forget just what she has planned to take place in the day’s lesson. As such, she has a written down seating plan for each of the classes available on her desk, as well as an itinerary for the day’s lessons.

Extra: Due to her Gijinka species, she has a mask-like bone structure on her face which helps to hide her aging face, as well as the fact that she wears an outfit that pretty much conceals her entire body, it is pretty hard to guess her age by simply looking at her. This is something she is most certainly quite grateful for.

Personality: Works first years into routines lightly, but really pushes seventh years to their limits. As such, latter years see him as a slave driver, while the earlier ones see him as a P.E. teacher who is simply too good to be true. Doesn’t accept ‘I can’t do it as an answer’, since he has a very refined ability to gauge a person’s physical abilities by simply looking at their physique, though he typically expects much more from the male students than he does females.

He posses many ‘old fashioned’ views implemented by his parents which, while he knows are wrong, he simply can’t shake them. Many of these prejudice views would nowadays be downright sexism, but given the nature of the academy and how many a teacher often gets involved helping students with the fortnightly challenges, he’s managed to pass it off as simply banter, intended to spur the females on to overcome their rivals. For example, when addressing a female in one of his lessons who seems to be unable to continue with any further exercise, it wouldn’t be overly rare for him to say something along the lines that he doesn’t really ‘expect anything less from a girl’.

Extra: Never seems to come into school dressed casually. He is always seen wearing some kind of shirt and tie, even if he does not wear them properly. A little shorter than most male teachers, standing at a mere 5’07’’.

Personality: Used to getting what she wants, and usually finds the means to get it. She is most certainly aware of her natural beauty, and is not too shy of using it to influence the actions of male students, or even the odd female. Typically though, she’ll normally only dare to act like this in front of male members of the academy, mainly the members of staff as opposed to the students, though she’s not so ‘shy’ when it comes to the seniors.

For the most part though, she doesn’t really need to do that much to persuade the hormone-rich male students. Her looks are more than enough to persuade pretty much any boy to do what she wants, though if push comes to shove, she can always bat her eyelashes at them.

Occasionally, if she needs to talk to one of the ‘delinquent’ students after class, rather than risk them leaving the class before she has chance to talk to them, she will instead leave a few microscopic strands of silk on their seat, leaving them stuck to the seat so that she can ‘have a word’ with them (some male students have been known to misbehave just to get this chance). After experiencing these little chats, the students never seem to look at Cheryl in the same way. In fact, they never seem to even look at them. Why? That’s just one of the many mysteries surrounding the academy…

Extra: Ex-model, renowned for making the jaws of boys quite literally drop, her sensual voice not usually helping matters very much. Knows all about how to manipulate people’s minds, and is quite good at it herself. She views males to have rather one-track minds when it comes to dealing with a lady who happens to have a pretty face, thinking that they want nothing more than a ‘good time’, a view which has built over her time as a model, and was also the reason for her resignation from the job.

Appearance: Reference

Personality: A very open minded teacher who never goes into any conversation with any form of bias. If you want to talk to someone a little more experienced than your student leader for advice, but feel a little apprehensive about approaching your head teacher, Mr. Makoto is the man to approach. He is able to quite easily put himself in the shoes of his students, and very often requests that rather than call him Mr. Makoto, that they instead refer to him as Kiyoshi, to make discussions seem like they are taking place between two equals.

Understanding that inflicting injuries on others isn’t for everyone, It’s not rare for him to simply teach a student how to defend themselves, rather than simply outright attack. However, when he does this, he usually uses what a student has learnt when it comes to defending themselves, and explains how such techniques can be used offensively instead of just defensively. Obviously, it is still up to the student whether they should use these techniques or not, but it does help to at least know how to use them.

Extra: Able to use literally every move at a Lucario’s disposal, currently in his prime. If he actually tried, not a single student would be able to hold their own against him at all, never mind actually win. The only ones that can are a handful of the teaching staff, and the head teachers.

Name: Mademoiselle Tea Centis [ Pronounced “Tee-ya Sen-tis; Called Madam Centis by students ]
Age: 24.
Gender: Female.
Alignment: Tends to lean towards the Girls.

School Year: French Teacher.
Appearance: Reference
Personality: Madam Centis comes off as quiet and aloof, often allowing students to do whatever they please in her class. She won’t intervene in fights, will keep her nose in her own business and treats everyone impartially. Her words are curt and to the point, though a bit soft-spoken, as are her lessons. However, on the flip side, she’s vey strict and has no mercy for students that dare to break her classroom rules; most of them tend to revolve around tardiness, as it is one of the few things that she can’t stand.

Nevertheless, Madam Centis always welcomes students to ask her questions should the language confuse the, although this habit is certainly more prevalent within the first years. Despite her stern demeanour whenever her rules are involved, Madam Centis is in actually, a very generous marker. She’ll even allow students to make up projects and resubmit assignments in order to bump their grade up, and won’t hesitate to do multiple exam reviews if needed. Though one wouldn’t expect this from her demure appearance, Madam Centis has a few passive-aggressive tendencies, mainly never depending on others and never engaging in intimate acts. In fact, the male students who are brave enough to try and hit on will attest to this, seeing as she seems to show no romantic interest in anyone.

Bio: Madam Centis used to attend Hazelwood, but switched schools halfway through her education. She transferred to France for her later years of education, mainly due to her ill grandparents that wanted to see her during their last few years. Always a quiet girl, even as a Venipede, she kept to herself for most of the time though she was the most content either alone or in school.

Eventually, after completing her school education, she moved back to where she grew up to complete teacher’s college. Soon after getting her diploma, she heard that the French teacher position back at Hazelwood had recently opened up. Deciding to give the job a shot, she was quickly accepted and made a facet within school life. However, instead of being renowned for her exceptional French skills, she instead became infamous for her class rules and her harsh reactions to those who broke them.
Extra: Despite having lived in France, Madam Centis does not have a French accent when she speaks English. She prefers to stay within the Academy ground instead of leaving to visit Hazelwood Village or the nearby Dead Woods. And yes, she can walk in those shoes.

Age: 29.

School Year: Music Teacher.
Appearance: Reference
Personality: Mr. Archer may come off as gruff and unyielding, but he does have a softer side to him. He would never push a student to do something that they’re uncomfortable with, unless he knows that they have the ability to do it. He’s very big on respect for both himself and others, and won’t be very nice to those who don’t show consideration for others. Despite being one of the younger teachers, he refuses to take anything from anyone, even his students (to be blunt, he doesn’t take shit from anybody). Nevertheless, he’ll always respect his student’s opinions and will always take them into consideration whenever making decisions.

He’s always trying new lesson plans in class, though they don’t work out all of the time. Moreover, his projects and assignments tend to have a more relaxed marking scheme, but that does not mean students should put less effort into them. Mr. Archer will get grumpy if someone comments on his smoking, however, seeing as he goes through almost a pack a day. As a result, the classroom tends to smell of cigarette smoke, but that’s what air fresheners are for.

Bio: Even when he attended Hazelwood as a child, he never involved himself in the ‘Gender War’ so to speak, seeing as he wasn’t going to squabble with girls or take orders from anyone. After graduating, he first took a few music courses in University before deciding to become a Music teacher; that’s when he dropped out and enrolled in teacher’s college. Heading back to Hazelwood with a diploma in hand, he easily landed the job and has been teaching for the past 5 years.
Extra: Of course, being the Music teacher, he’s adept at playing a myriad of instruments in many different styles. Additionally, despite the fact that he’s always seen with a cigarette in his mouth, his baritone voice still rings clear. He also has perfect pitch, so he’s never off tune and has the ability to correct others if they’re sharp or flat.

Name: Mrs. Bernice Saurdra [ Pronounced “Sar-dra” ]

Alignment: Girls, but can vary depending on school rumours.
Gijinka Sub-Species: Venesaur.
School Year: Art Teacher.
Appearance: Reference
Personality: Mrs. Saurdra is the motherly figure within the school, often treating students and other faculty members as her family. As an Art teacher, she firmly believes that by nurturing creativity through compassion, one’s artistic abilities will blossom. The Venusaur Gijinka is very big on expression and always encourages students to think outside of the box whenever completing projects or assignments. She’s open to all ideas and is more than willing to hear a student out on a new idea or opinion that they want to state for the class. On the other hand, she doesn’t approve of those who put down other’s opinions.

Despite her kind demeanour, Mrs. Saurdra is a bit vain and doesn’t like to get dirty during art projects, nor is she very fond of dirt overall. She has a small impish side, often teasing students should they act out or pique her interest. Additionally, the grass type is very big on gossip and rumours, so she’s the first person you should go to if you want to get in on the hearsay. Unfortunately, Mrs. Saurdra can be a bit picky with her marks from time to time and will even favour students depending on the talk going around the school.

Bio: Though Mrs. Saudra didn’t attend Hazelwood as a child, after completing her degree and applying for the position, she found that she fit right in within the community. One of the more veteran teachers (though she’ll vehemently deny being one of the oldest), she has seen many students, teachers and Heads enter and leave the building. During one of the few vacations that she takes every now and then, she ran into the dashing Venusaur Gijinka that she would later marry in one of the more populated cities.

From that point on, the woman was forced to take multiple maternity leaves, seeing as she later became the matriarch of a very large family. Some of her older children have even begun to attend Hazelwood, though they’ll also vehemently deny being related to her. Currently, while she works, the rest of her family lives in the main city, supported by her working husband; Mrs. Saurdra also takes every chance she can get to visit the man.
Extra: To date, Mrs. Saurdra has given birth to more than 10 children and even a few sets of twins. It’s rumoured that another child is on the way, but no confirmation has been given by her. The rest of the staff has yet to comment too.

Name: Mr. Zakiel Platium. [ Pronouned “Zae-kiel” ]
Age: Debatable; every time someone asks, he gives them a math problem to solve in which the answer will be his age, but it’ll always have a different answer that needs to be multiplied by pi. His records, on the other hand, say 36.

Alignment: Neutral.
Gijinka Sub-Species: Metagross.
School Year: Math Teacher.
Appearance: Reference
Personality: Mr. Platium seems devoid of any emotion seeing as his facial features never seem to change and that instead of speaking, he communicates telepathically with the class. However, this is far from the truth seeing as he’s actually quite empathetic and will be quick to sympathise with students. Obviously, he’s very proficient at math, seeing as his brain functions similarly to a supercomputer when it comes to calculating digits. It helps that his physic powers amplify his mental functions; Mr. Platium also uses his abilities to write on the chalkboard, hand out tests and even pick up students should they disrupt his lesson. As a result, his classes are more likely to be on the quiet side, seeing as both he and his students tend to refrain from talking during Math lessons.

Even though one wouldn’t expect this from the older man, the Metagross is surprisingly open and doesn’t mind it when students pry into his personal life. However, that doesn’t mean that he’ll necessarily answer the question. It should be noted that Mr. Platium is prone to including puns in his assignments and tests, to the chagrin of his students.

Bio: Not much is known about Mr. Platium; he never attended Hazelwood and he’s stayed relatively low key during his 12 year career at the Academy. The majority of the faculty see him as an enigma as well.
Extra: Oddly enough, he’s in a ‘complicated’ relationship with one of the Village Gijinka; it’s rumoured that she’s a rather feisty Arcanine. He also has great respect for Mr. Rosenthal, the Science teacher, and would love to challenge him to a game of chess or something of the sort.

Name: Mr. Darrius Hale.
Age: 26.
Gender: Male.
Alignment: Guys.
Gijinka Sub-Species: Mismagius.
School Year: History Teacher.
Appearance: Reference
Personality: Darrius loves to talk, whether it be about ancient civilizations, past catastrophes or even what he had for dinner last night. By nature, he’s a regular chatterbox, but tends to keep these urges in check by turning the subject back to History and whatnot. He also genuinely enjoys teaching and children, so he’ll be the first to beam in pride should a student ace a test or finally understand the complex workings of the culture within Sinnoh. Darrius is always open to and even encourages questions about anything, even his worldly travels, though he’ll be quick to link it back to what he’s teaching.

Despite being a nice guy, Darries tends to have a few mischievous tendencies from time to time, such as switching up the seating plan or placing ‘special objects’ in students’ desks before they come into class. Whenever he teaches a class, he’ll never fail to state what he expects from them and never changes his mind so as to be fair to the students. Additionally, he’ll always stay true to his word when it comes to explaining what’s on exams or future projects. However, when student’s don’t do what’s expected of them or take advantage of the opportunities that he gives them, he becomes a very harsh marker.

Bio: Darrius attended Hazelwood as a child and even became the second in command to the leader of the Boys during his last year. Throughout his stay at the Academy, Darrius’s father would fund both the Academy and the Boy’s activities, making it blatantly clear that the Gijinka was rather well off. As soon as he graduated, instead of staying at home to live a cushy life, he left to travel the world to study different cultures and histories first hand. Despite the fact that he didn’t need to pursue a job after his education, he eventually came to love children and teaching. After touring the world, he came back to Hazelwood to teach students; it should be noted that even if Darrius doesn’t know it, his father continues to fund the Academy.
Extra: Darrius actually requests students and staff call him by his first name, mainly because ‘Mr. Hale’, to him, will always be reserved for his father. That, and he doesn’t want people in the Academy to make the connection between him and his family name. He’ll also respond to Mr. Darrius. He also likes to dress up in historical garb every now and then, though his clothing always tends to be varying shades of violet. Moreover, he’s taken a shining to the new English teacher, Ms. Walton.

Name: Ms. Johanna Tschaikowski. [ Pronounced “Yo-hanna chah-ee-KOV-skee” ]
Age: 30.

Gijinka Sub-Species: Swanna.
School Year: Dance & Drama Teacher.
Appearance: Reference
Personality: Mr. Tschaikowski is, through and through, a perfectionist and always expects the best from her students. She can be a bit domineering at times, but only because she wants nothing less for her class. However, she’s willing to be more lenient on the younger students so that they’ll continue to take Dance & Drama. She’s very passionate about dance and theatre, but restrains herself form bursting out into applause every time a student make her proud. She’s also quick to compliment those who succeed and appreciates any and all effort put into her class.

Unfortunately, Ms. Tschaikowski is easily fooled and is just a bit too trusting, leading some students to take advantage of her in this sense. Nevertheless, she’s able to perform many dance styles, but not ballet despite her appearance. Her acting skills are also first rate, and she’ll often recite lines from the occasional play whenever she gets into the mood.

Bio: As a young girl, Johanna had always been interested in dance and theatre. Even though she grew up in a different country, her love for the subject didn’t falter and actually grew when she applied for a job at Hazelwood. Though she did leave the school for a year to go teach elsewhere, she eventually came back and has stayed at Hazelwood ever since; she’s also fond of organizing musicals and drama productions whenever she gets enough interest.
Extra: Ms. Tshaikowski has a slight German lilt in her tone; she also seems to be fond of the P.E. teacher, Mr. Walker. She claims, though that it’s just because they’re both avians. Students tend to call her “Ms. T” or “Ms. Tshai” due to the length of her last name.

Currently juggling character possibilities, so I'll tell you in a bit.

The room the two maids were in was rather small compared to other rooms in what could only be referred to as a mansion or even a castle. Gigantic family pictures, which featured Mr. and Mrs. Morgan along with their child most of the time and sometimes even featured said two maids, as they were considered family, were hanging on the walls of this room. There also were famous paintings, pokémon paintings, landscape paintings and abstract paintings, all of which matched the castle's general color scheme, which was dark red and pale brown. The two maids were folding clothes, seeing as how the younger one had finished doing the laundry and the older one was done with her jobs.

"No, no, not like that, they'll get all wrinkly if you fold them like that. Here, let me show you," the blonde maid said to the taller one. Her hair was neatly tied into a circular braided bun while her taller friend had her long brown hair in a ponytail. Their heights matched their age and, quite amusingly, the shorter one was the one with more experience. They wore matching stereotypical maid outfits, though the blonde one's did show a bit more skin than her friend's. The blonde maid proceeded to fold a small shirt, which belonged to their bosses' child, flawlessly and slowly to show her partner how to do it. "Understand, Caroline?" she asked.

The older brunette nodded. "Understood." After a few minutes, she looked at her younger friend. "Amitia, what do you think of Alma?" she asked.

"Hm? What do you mean?" Amitia questioned, looking confused.

"Well, do you like her?" she rephrased. The blonde young woman nodded without hesitation.

"Of course I do. She's like the daughter I've never had. Why are you asking?"

"Just a bit curious. Sometimes you seem to dislike her, that's all." With that, the older maid fixed her ponytail, as it was a bit sloppy and she disliked that feeling.

"I do get a bit annoyed at her sometimes, especially on her grumpy days, but everyone has those moments. Even you, Caroline," her friend replied with a playful smile as she pushed her, making the two giggle. Alma's attitude had rubbed off a bit on them and they liked it; after all, it's better being playful than being cold or serious.

"Well, looks like we're done here," Caroline said right before something small and completely black jumped on her back and clung to her, making weird sounds, which made the poor maid shriek in surprise and run about, yelling to "get it off". Soon though, Amitia burst out laughing, which made the black thing laugh cutely as well. Thanks to that, Caroline realised what had happened and blushed a bit in embarassment.

"Professor Bananachunks got you, Caroline," Amitia said as her laughter trailed off, sticking her tongue out playfully. The little black thing, the aforementioned "Professor" hugged the frightened maid tightly, still giggling adorably. It wore a long black cloak, too big for its small size, and a white mask with a smiling face on it.

"Alma, I told you to stop scaring me..." the prank victim said, breathing deeply. Alma hopped off her back and put her mask on top of her head, her cloak's sleeves being way too long and falling back down in a comically cute fashion once they went past her hands. She waddled her way around the brown-haired maid as not to trip on her own costume and smiled widely at her, hugging her legs.

"I'm thorry, Mommy~" she said in a way that was both cheerful and remorseful, but not too much. It was really sweet how the young girl felt close enough to the both them to call them "Mommy". It really showed how much she trusted them. The brunette lifted her up and was smiling again within a few seconds. It was hard not to smile when you saw this little girl, who was already quite adorable naturally, wearing a comically oversized outfit. Caroline gently pinched the girl's cheek, she didn't want to hurt her, after all, and moved it around while grinning.

"You're a naughty little girl, but it's impossible to stay mad at you," she said, which made the small girl return the grin. Professor Bananachunks was an alter ego she had created. She was a scientist who enjoyed scaring others and who could only speak in gibberish, hence the weird sounds she let out when she pounced Caroline; as such, she often dressed up as her to make her pranks. After a bit, she put her down and Amitia leaned towards the maid, whispering something in her ear. Alma tilted her head curiously, wondering what she said to the brunette, but decided not to ask, especially since she lifted up again.

"Now let's get you out of that costume~"

"Huh? Why?"

"That way you won't dirty it when we eat lunch soon, okay?" the maid asked and, as a response, the girl nodded and flashed that toothy grin of hers. With that, Caroline brought her upstairs (the room they were in was on a lower floor; Alma's room was on the top floor), passing by the numerous expensive vases which all contained gorgeous flowers, the beautiful paintings and the amazing-looking wallpapers that covered every wall, which often featured a flowery pattern somehow. Mr. Morgan loved gardening and plants in general, which was why he had decided to buy those wallpapers.

They went upstairs, Alma looking at all the seemingly interminable hallways they walked past and gazing at some of the pictures she could see. The reason Caroline was carrying her was simple: Alma had the bad habit of running off and getting lost in the mansion. Upon reaching the small girl's room, the brown-haired maid put her down, still holding her hand, and opened the door.

Little Alma's room was completely different from the rest of the rooms in her home. Instead of dark red and brown, it was pink and baby blue. Of course, every piece of furniture fit with that color scheme. There was a king-size bed, which was obviously way too big for such a little girl, a large window with beautiful curtains which gave an astounding view of Castelia city, a book shelf for the girl's books and more typical bedroom furniture. What stood out though was two large chests, which both contained either masks and wigs or costumes. They were both locked tightly (she was highly protective of her belongings) and only Alma knew where the keys were.

"So, these are your clothes for today," the maid put a long-sleeved black shirt with white lace around the sleeves, stockings and a black skirt along with a belt, "When you're done, come see us at the front door, you remember where it is, right?" she asked. Alma nodded and smiled as Caroline went downstairs to see Amitia, who was dragging a large box inside.

"Is that it?" she asked.

"Yup. Get the crowbar and I'll open this baby up." Caroline complied with the younger maid's request and fetched a crowbar for her. The young woman lacked in the strength department, so she needed her friend's help to open it. At around that moment, Alma finally arrived and looked at the large box with curiosity.

"What's that?" she asked, pointing at it. At that moment, they managed to open the box, revealing an unconscious... man? No, it wasn't quite a human being, seeing as how it had a tail and such. Immediately, Alma clung to Amitia's legs, standing behind her and peeking at it.

"It's a Gijinka, it's all yours; your parents decided to get you one so you could have a friend!" she said gently, smiling and patting her head softly. It was clear that Alma was afraid of the Gijinka, but then again, any stranger scared her initially. It wouldn't take long for her to get over her fear...

If he didn't attack, that is.

Me and Runi were totally not discussing something that would be the result of a group of three blonde haired neutral students, and I'm totally not going to suggest a certain blonde haired fire-type female to join as the third neutral, even though I imagine she may actually be the Female you could have just reserved.

Runi - I'm just that awesome.

I'm really sorry I ended that, seriously, it wracked my heart typing those words, but I don't want the OOC to feel left out by us only talking in PMs. They're very sensitive threads you see, and I'd rather not risk upsetting it. *Pats OOC*

Aside from the fact that she's friendly with mine and Runi's characters (Dray and Jer respectively, the Jolteon and Girafarig pair you may or not recall), not really. I wouldn't dream of interfering with her 'interesting' personality XD

All I'm gonna say is keep in mind that she's very much in the minority when it comes to being of a neutral alignment, so that may give her a bit of 'perspective'.

So i was looking through horoscopes in a fashion magazine (i'm a girl; so sue me) and this is what it said for Shae (yes i gave her a birthday she's a Gemini btw):

Looks we have the Triforce than, how awesome. I so totally call Courage for Dray, what with him already being the fearless energy bomb he is (unless he's in the middle of an academic lesson, in which case Dray's head, meet desk. Desk, Dray's head) . Jer would suit Wisdom better anyway, what with having two sentient heads on one body, and Shelia being anything other than power simply wouldn't make sense. XD

Ah, how interesting. Actually, i think I'll call that quite scary actually o.O I'm so totally not a Gemini myself I don't suppose you'd be willing to look up whatever constellation the 28th of August corresponds to? Yup, Dray's birthday.

Runi - Actually, come to think of it, considering how much of a minority the neutrals are meant to be, do you think it would be worth closing up the neutral slots now? I mean, three in itself actually seems pretty high to me. Even if we get, say, six people in this RP in total, all with a max number of characters, that'd still leave 25% of the characters as neutral, which seems like a fair amount for a 'vast minority'.

I would have called Wisdom for Jer anyways, though not for the head reason. I picture him as a pretty smart dude when he pays attention but intense (and i mean intense) memorization skills. Yupyupaduck.

Of course i can look up the horoscopes, but keep in mind they're for girls ;]

All right, so Dray is a Virgo, and it says:

Jer is a Sagittarius, so his is:

Gijinka Sub-Species: Flareon

School Year: Four (oldest student there, was held back quite a few times, and not because she's a dumbass even though she may act like one at times).

Appearance: Shelia's silhouette is quite slender, standing at 5'7" and weighing around 137 pounds (muscle, of course). She has quite the athletic build too. She has beautiful golden hair that reaches her mid-back and clear amber eyes. She's also often thought as being quite beautiful. She also has small earrings on her human ears, since Flareon ears are on top of her head.

She wears a tight fitting red body suit that covers her entire body. Over it, she wears a pale tan tanktop that stops over her stomach. She also wears similarly colored disconnected sleeves that cover her whole forearms and a bit of her upper arm. There's a small brown ribbon near the top on each one too.

On the lower half of her body, the young adult has pale tan panties, still over the body suit, with a small brown ribbon in front. She wears long similarly colored leg warmers that reach her knees. As footwear, she wears small brown shoes with two yellow strings making an "X" over her feet.

Personality: Shelia, at first glance, would look like the beautiful goody two-shoes kind of girl. Well, better chase those thoughts away, because she's probably the absolute opposite, or at least close to it. While she is beautiful and normally nice, she can be your absolute worst nightmare if given the chance to.

Let's start with the good parts of her personality. First of all, as said earlier, Shelia is quite the nice girl and she's fairly sociable, always eager to meet new people. She smiles often, has a good sense of humor and is generally a helpful girl. She can be a bit silly at times too, especially when she tries to make people laugh. She's fairly optimistic when she's in a good mood too, always looking at the bright side of life and whatnot.

Shelia is very competitive at times and may come out as a bit of a sore loser sometimes, especially if she loses against someone she doesn't like. With friends though, she won't show it since, most of the time, it's all for fun and nothing serious. Challenge her to pretty much anything and she'll accept. Anything except swimming, that is, since she's unable to swim and is scared to death of water.

Her hydrophobia is quite intense, although it's a bit understandable when you see that she's a Fire type. She will not get near a lake or a body of water without someone and even then she'll stay far from the edge, not wanting to be pushed in. She's also a bit paranoid near those places. When it rains, she literally dashes for cover and stays somewhere where the raindrops can't touch her. She also has a natural fear of Water pokémon. Also, rain will almost always make her grumpy.

As beautiful as that cheeky smile of hers is, it hides a vicious animal stuck in its rather weak cage. Shelia has a very short temper and can get angered in a flash. When only mildly annoyed, the temperature around her will rise up a few degrees, which is quite noticeable, and she'll be noticeably ruder. If you lay off a bit and stop annoying her, she'll quickly calm down though. She'll also start swearing a bit.

The trouble comes in when you don't stop and manage to make her angry. When this happens, the temperature will rise once again and the air around her will be distorted thanks to the intense heat raidating from her body. She will also exhale fire and smoke from her nose, a bit like a dragon. In this state, it's too late to apologise and/or run, she can and she will beat you up. Rarely, she'll regain control of herself and tell everyone to back off before she sends fire everywhere, which will calm her down instantly. She still vaguely knows who are her friends and who aren't.

If you manage to make it even worse, then she will be out for your head and will gladly kill you if she gets the chance. She loses all control and becomes a bit like an animal. She will start fighting ferally and the only ways to calm her down are to either knock her out, her killing or getting rid of whatever's annoying her, talking some sense into her (not likely to work) or forcing her to get near water, that will instantly snap her out of it as she'll cower away. She cannot distinguish friend from foe and will most likely attack anyone who tries to calm her down.

Shelia loves fighting, whether it be for real or just sparring. She is also very skilled at kicking people's asses, known to put many Fighting types to shame. She has quite the brutal training routine, which shows her determination to keep herself in good shape. She often fights Fighting types to train along with other big, powerful Gijinkas, winning more often than not. When her opponent has a tail, she seems to have the habit to use that as an advantage and will most likely stomp it or step on it a few times. She also uses this to shut someone up.

Due to her demanding lifestyle, she needs to eat quite a lot to have enough energy for a day. If she doesn't eat enough, then she might collapse from exhaustion, so she may surprise some people with how much she eats, especially since she's quite slim. This simply makes her laugh though and she makes fun of it. She is more than willing to take someone under her wing and to train them, however, you need to prove that you can hold your own against her, which, honestly, is quite hard. Unless you're a Water type, then you just need to prove that you won't use water attacks against her.

Unlike most girls at school, she doesn't mind boys. She doesn't see the point in the rivalry and as a result rarely accepts to participate in the competitions or the celebrations. She's very loyal to her two friends, Jer and Dray, and it will take more abuse from them to anger her. Shelia's very close to those two and will stand up for them, no matter how brash it may seem. She'll even stand up to Water types who are antagonising them, despite her intense fear of water. However, she won't be as confident when that happens for obvious reasons, but the simple fact that she's staring at what she fears the most straight in the eye shows how much she values her two friends.

Extra: Fighting Electric types will more often than not turn her hair into a large afro, which she either hates or uses to make jokes, depending on the situation. She can control fire in almost every way possible and is even immune to it, since her body absorbs fire and heat to turn it into energy that makes all her natural abilities even better than they already are, so she becomes stronger, tougher, faster and overall a better fighter. It also makes her somewhat more feral sometimes. Her body temperature is normally at 1650°F, which makes her very body quite warm to the touch. When spitting flames, it can rise up to 3100°F and, if it's higher when she's not firing flames, it means she has fever. Prolonged exposure to water may make her catch a cold and, when she sneezes, flames are fired from her mouth and nose. She, for some reason, likes cleaning too. She also has a pronounced sweet tooth. She tries not to drink any alcoholic beverages because she has trouble controlling herself and often ends up drunk and passed out soon after.

I can totally see Sheila trying to stomp on Jer's tail, though her certainly won't do anything to stop her should she rage. The Leader of the Girls though is going to dampen Sheila's parade quite literally though; she's a Vaporeon |D
