I Abandoned it and it came back to me!, Did someone ever gave their eggs to the shelter, only to adopt them? |

I was breeding absols as part of the last site-wide shiny hunt. Any excess Absols eggs was given to the shelter (I couldn't adopt more than 1-2 at a time). I was also on the hunt at the egg shelter in order to fetch any absol eggs. Guess what happened? An absol egg that I bred, that I tossed aside to the egg shelter... ended up being adopted by me. And guess what? IT HATCHED AS AN SHINY ABSOL! I JUST DISCARDED A BRED ABSOL EGG, RE-ADOPTED IT FROM THE SHELTER, AND IT HATCHED INTO A SHINY ABSOL!!!!! It's all up there in the breeding information, I checked! Dude, how luck was I?  your Shiny Absol was obtained from the daycare as you can read in the time line. It's impossible to obtain eggs bred by yourself from the shelter.

I've been under the impression that you can't adopt pokemon/eggs you've sent to the shelter no matter, and that pokemon doesn't show any signs that you did that. --------------------   All my stuff is viewable by everyone on my public page. Gonna go ahead and close this, as a) it's already been pointed out that your Shiny was taken directly from the daycare, and b) it's impossible to claim your own daycare eggs once they're in the shelter.
