for me it depends on what the mistake is. If the word is still easy to read i couldn't care less, we all make mistakes, but if the word can't be understood then it gets on my nerves

Depends really, if you really don't know how to spell the words, it doesn't bother me, but if you're TyP1nG LyK3 Th1$$ then it bugs me to death. I hate it. x3

On a casual site? No.
On a professional site for a company, etc.? Definitely. In the case of casual sites, the only thing that kind of bothers me is more of a problem with formatting when people don't divide up paragraphs properly, just because it makes it awkward to read. -------------------- [align=center]

I can definitely not like "dat" :P for me, it's way more effort to type like *cough* a moron *cough* that than it is just to type normally. I did used to type like that when I was 14 on MSN though I cringe reading my chat logs now! |

I can't stand to read chat speak. I mean sure, i don't mind if theres no punctuation like this, but when people talk completely liek dis, it makes me want to punch my screen. plus i don't understand why anyone would want to type like that. doesn't it take longer to type out? :s
grammer mistakes in general bug me, minus the punctuation (like i said) This post has been edited by Rebuke: Nov 16 2011, 11:37 PM -------------------- |

I'm generally against people misspelling things on purpose or accident. I can understand if you're in chat (though is it still too much trouble to type the whole word out?) but when people do the same thing in forum posts, it really bothers me. Misspelled words on the Internet tells me you're either immature, a noob, or generally uncaring.

People often use what is called 'n00bspeak' to insult others, etc. Chat speak bothers me the most, though.

you know what i really hate the most is when people clearly dont know how to spell or use grammar but what bothers me even more is when they dont even know what punctuation is you know they just run three or four long sentences all into one and expect you to read it all as one gigantically long single thought its like theyre some twelve year old kid on crack just going on and on without ever taking a break and by the end of it youve gone mad because you tried to read the entire thing all in one go dont you hate that i know i do also they should capitalize the right things like i whats a punctuation l0l typ1ng l1k3 th1s 1s th3 b3st edit: I blame the entirety of 4chan. aahahahahhahhah hilarious But seriously, I love when people do dumb mistakes like switch now and know. If its only a couple lightly misspelled words and lack of capitalization/punctuation I really couldn't care less. Whats REALLY annoying the rare people who drop almost every vowel all the time so it's almost impossible to figure out what they say (example I bt u cnt rd ths sntc). I mean really, not everybody's native language is English, why go crazy over everyone's itty-bitty mistakes. Internet talk that is eligible 'leik dis' is kinda annoying, but I don't think it's that big a deal.

A lot of spelling errors and grammar annoy me.
I know that some people have certain problems and can't type well, but most of the people who talk "lyke dis" online are just stupid. Then again, trying to read it like they do in that "How is Babby Formed" video can be quite funny. One time, some guy was trolling on another website, and instead of "stating his opinion," he "stated his onion." -------------------- |

If someone misses an apostrophe or a comma, then i'm not really bothered.
Bt if sum1 tlks lyk dis. Then I get angry. If it's a legitimate spelling mistake, then thats fine too. I'm dyslexic, so I usually mess up a few times. :P -------------------- |

I might be mildly dyslexsic and I type fast, so I make a lot of mistakes; even when I got through my posts, I sometimes miss them. But one the whole I try for good spelling and grammar, so it annoys me when others- especially adults- don't even try to correct what they've typed. Sometimes you can't even understand what they're trying to say, it's so bad, and it's hard to take them seriously as an artist/person/social commentator.
(If you're wondeting what I tpem like when I'm not coreecting myself, this is tit.) The universe sees no distinction between the multitude of creatures and elements which comprise it. All are equal. None is favored. The universe, equipped with nothing but the materials and the power of creation, continues to create: something of this, something of that. It cannot control what it creates and it cannot, it seems, be controlled by its creations (though a few might deceive themselves otherwise). Those who curse the workings of the universe curse that which is deaf. Those who strike out at those workings fight that which is inviolate. Those who shake their fists, shake their fists at blind stars."- Michael Moorcock, author. |

I'm usually quite lenient, I play WoW and most of my guild, speak pretty good English on vent but find it harder to type it as we are from all over Europe.
We have lots of Dutch, Swedish, Romanian, Danish etc people in guild. I accept not everyone can spell. But when some kid comes on and goes on about 'skl' that annoys me lol. -------------------- |
